It seems like every other month there is another report of Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino departing the FBI. However, this time the internal sources are double-dog-sure of the likelihood.
Multiple media outlets now report an anticipated exit by Dan Bongino over the next few weeks. It would not come as a surprise if he did leave. The institutional corruption within the FBI is a very difficult situation to manage, especially if FBI leadership are not willing to admit the institutional corruption exists.
We do not want to see him fail, and the FBI has delivered some good results. Depending on which report you read, Andrew Bailey, who until recently was Missouri’s attorney general, is favored to take over the role of FBI director “probably around the first of the year.”
(VIA FOX NEWS) – Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino will make a decision about his future at the bureau within the next few weeks, two sources familiar with his considerations tell Fox News.
The sources deny recent reports that Bongino’s office at the FBI is empty, but they say that his departure is a possibility in the near future.
A source familiar with the situation told Fox News Digital that Bongino has not made any decisions about his future.
Bongino’s tenure at the FBI has come under fire in recent weeks, alongside FBI director Kash Patel. Earlier this month, a blistering report from an alliance of active-duty and retired FBI personnel portrayed the bureau as directionless under its new leadership.
Bongino and Patel pushed back on the report, however, defending sweeping reforms they say have delivered major gains in accountability and public safety. (read more)
Jimmy Paul, Bongino’s chief of staff for the past nine months, has reportedly already left Washington for a new post as special agent in charge of the Baltimore field office.

Bless you Dan. The FBI is no damn good and that is a fact. Not your fault. Have you thought of radio?
You forgot the //sarc.
Bongino already had his pod casts and TV spots … talking his BIG GAME abilities in the locker room of his pod casts and TV spots is the reason he got the job … same as Kash Man Patel. When they were put into the game … they suddenly realized their BIG TALK was not enough and they were overwhelmed.
Yet … “tell all” stuff always seems to have a long enough 1/2 Life to make a few bucks after the fact … so Danny Boy will enjoy a spell of success as he reprises his role as locker room pundit.
Expect months of wishy washy excuses and woe-is-me monologues about how bad it was and how unfixable the agency is.
Not so sure he’s believable enough for podcasts anymore
If you are surprised you have not been paying attention.
The echo of the slamming door will have a serious affect on the Trump administration’s credibility in law enforcement and investigation, not because of any personality so much, because of the continuing deceit and fumbling by the agency. Patel was a poor choice and it shows.
The Epstein farce and later handling of messaging by Blonde Bondi, but supported by Trump himself and the leadership of the Feebeeeye, is a self-inflicted wound that continues to bleed political blood.
Everybody knows – or should know – that the Epstein files were never going to be released. Since Nov 22 1963 nothing of real value has ‘been released’.
There is no evidence of epstein’s corrupt activities… Our “government” has had years to delete it…
I like Patel. But it appears to me as if he is surrounded by a figurative Roman Senate within the agency and its the Ides of March. Patel takes their word for anything that happened in the past, no accountability it appears, and so people outside looking in are a bit frustrated.
The irreducible problem is Bondi and the establishment that supports her, to wit: Susan Wiles, the Morgan ambulance chasing apparatus, Mike Johnson, John Thune and Grassley and so many other grifters. Bongino, literally walked into an Alice and Wonderland nightmare. The FBI is no country for men of integrity.
Yes, there was a reason she was palatable to both sides of the UniParty.
The fact remains that, Dan should have held on to his integrity and he did not.
During that announcement by Cashew Pastel and him that Epstein definitely did himself in, he looked like a Lapdog enthusiastically agreeing to everything Cashew spewed out.
Or for Old Men. (:
He’s probably had enough of Cash and Blondie.
So have I.
Quit taking all of Missouri’s great AG’s.
Not all..
I remember well one who provided the final cover-up for the Waco murders.
Schmitt and Bailey have been stellar as Missouri AG.
It’s not what the country can do for them but what your AGs can do for the country. 😉
Yoink!
The FBI suffers from institutional corruption as well as all our other three letter agencies and the halls of congress. They all played a part in taking out our great President and commander in chief because he stood alone in a sea of corruption.
And who’s surprised.
We vote, NOTHING changes.
We vote again, nothing changes.
Voting either means we get destroyed for 4Y (Biden & Co) or we stay status quo and all the RINO’s, GOPe, Establishment get enriched, play kabuki theatre, keep us just off the tipping point and pound their chests as if, ‘we are winning’. We have Mike and Thune; who are as bad as McConnell and Ryan and Schumer and Pelosi. Mike and Thune AREN’T allowing but one teeny, itsy bit of winning but not much. We just don’t have the sweeping trashing we experienced under Biden and O (and whose admin and cabinet and agencies have YET to be indicted for anything); yet once they have Comey, Letitia, et als, they skate….cause supposedly GOP lawyers don’t know how to arrest, indict!!!???
It may all come down to………LAMP POSTS!
Then the question is………
Are there enough lamp posts in this country when we have to do what no law enforcement in this country will do?
And if you are waiting for Bondi…….I hope you are not holding your breath…..because you are already out of time!
The d’s are reprobate, but the r’s are slithering cowardly traitors.
I see some major differences, but I will never support Communism on any level. Voting changed everything in 2024. 2026 looks like another fine mess about to begin. I have never voted for a politician I liked as a decent human being. I try to figure out up front what motivates them to actually act. As a result, I have never voted for a Democrat in more than 25 years.
Yet there are Treehouse posters that still think we can vote our way out of this mess…
Unless Bongino says it himself this is all bullshiz. A source familiar…yeah right
A source familiar with the way Bongino thinks.
I agree, there has been some good work done. We don’t want him to fail., but this boat will take years to turn around if there isn’t a major move to reduce the FBI force by all the politically motivated employees.
As for Dan, he had cancer. He certainly doesn’t need the kind of stress he must be under. I imagine he is a man with his hands
tied most places he turns.
He would certainly come back to his show being unable to talk about most everything. He most likely will have lost a bunch of hope and faith that things can get better. I truly respect him, especially that he agreed to do it.
What do you do when Trump calls on you? You respectfully comply. His duty and loyalty bound self had to say yes.
Would he have been a better pick to head the Secret Service – abso-effen-lutely.
Ditto!!!!
By not decapitating and removing the power centers of the bureaucracy, they’ll be able to just wait Trump out. Maybe the GOP actively throws the election next year, too. They did in 2018 to set the impeachment table.
Putting TV / radio / blogger personalities in key positions was always a bad strategy. Can’t say we didn’t warn them.
Hope he takes Kash with him.
This reminds me of the hype for fusion energy. Forty years ago, we were told that sustainable fusion energy reactors were only 10 years away. They have been repeating the ’10 years away’ line for the last 40 years.
I have maintained since the blow up over Epstein that Dan would leave the FBI as soon as he could do so without it causing significant damage to Trump. By damage, I mean bad publicity, not institutional damage. Dan said when he started that if he left, it would be because the FBI was beyond salvage. And I believe it is. Dan leaving can’t make it any worse than un-salvageable, now, can it?
I guess we’ll see shortly if he is really leaving.
Who initiated the “… blistering report from an alliance of active-duty and retired FBI personnel portrayed the bureau as directionless under its new leadership.” FBI 1 or FBI 2? Gee, that’s a tough one…
Should we have any hope that if he steps away, he will be able to share revelations with Tulsi? Would that possibility even help?
You cannot elect someone with flexible disposition in that role. You need a righteous asshole who will make heads roll and ask questions later. People working there should be afraid of the new chief. It has to be tyrannical. The rot is too much to compromise which is what Kash and Dan have done. The new guy has to form a task force of SERIOUS men like Ness. And start hunting…
Grab the popcorn and see if he resurrects his show…
If he does, his base will never forget his assertions behind the mic vs his non-action on those assertions in office. Such as this:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/dan-bongino-kash-patel-jeffrey-epstein-rcna209871
P.S. If you hit me for using an LA Times link, and infer I’m an “implant” on CTH, recall there are NO objective sites in MSM
I’m sure Bongino will have a thing or two to say soon enough. It might even be the end of Kash, and that’s a good thing.
Maybe Trump will have new people nominated and acting over there come new year.
Unlikely new people will be accepted by the sclerotic establishment, but acting directors can fire just as well.
When Kash first came in he turned down the DOGE audit..that right there told me he was going to protect the institution.
Being SAIC in Baltimore might be more useful. But DB has stated that what he knows has shocked him, and in ways we cannot yet understand.
I’ve been telling my friends etc. that this all (FBI, DOJ, CIA, NSA, and others) needs to be ‘burned down’ and remade. I still believe that. And time is short.
To do so will require the direct and open opposition to the Deep State and Fourth Branch, who collectively may be able to overthrow the elected government and defeat us all. It is not going to be as simple as decrees.
Bongino is a big talker who should have known better than to think he could show up at FBI headquarters and the agents would flock to his side. The FBI knows who they serve (hint: it ain’t America) and they know that Patel/Bongino are a passing fad. They also know that some of their own willingly participated in 0bama’s/Biden’s attacks on PDJT47, but if they want to have a long career and retire with a fat benefits package, they adhere to Omerta. Nobody talks, everybody walks.
This is reminiscent of the attitude of the war criminals Bush/Cheney and their invasion plans for Iraq – go in fast and cheap, depose Hussein, and the people will flock to us. After 20+ years of war, the mistakes of that folly are repeated.
Hate to see Dan go actually. Get rid of Patel, put Dan in his place and you’d see some good results. In the case of the FBI, the best is in second place.
The ONLY answer is to ELIMINATE the FBLie…..
There is no redemption….
Do not forget what Dan said was one of his biggest concerns–his health. Stress is a big factor on the immune system, and Dan’s cancer was/is in remission.
Just saying.
If it’s for health reasons, him leaving makes sense of course. But you know he can’t sit still and will be back on Rumble, a platform he invested early in that made him quite wealthy, screeding like before.
Dan looks very different in the top picture than he did only a few short months ago.
A lot of stress, stress I believe few of us here can imagine within the “workplace,” can kill even the strongest person.
And beyond that stress evil is always literally trying to kill good.
You’ve said that before!!! You guys really want Bongino to step down?? Why?
It is going to take a long, long time to overcome the legacy of J. Edgar Hoover.
“We do not want to see him fail, and the FBI has delivered some good results. Depending on which report you read, Andrew Bailey, who until recently was Missouri’s attorney general, is favored to take over the role of FBI director “probably around the first of the year.”
Is this a typo? Bongino is Deputy Director. Patel is the Director.
The only solution to the state of the FBI is to nuke and pave and start over. I expect that Dan would be up for managing that, but not a single additional soul in D.C. would support that … not out loud, at least.
Reading about Bongino possibly departing I see a little note about Bailey becoming the new director.
Well, it makes sense that Bongino would leave if Kash is dumped.
Bailey should be able to choose his own deputy.
Not that I am going to trust these rumor mills. I suppose they will eventually get one right.
And I sure won’t get my hopes up for any real change. Especially this close to an election.
It is always too close to an election to achieve change.
Bureaucratic infighting is a skill. No one without political ninja skills should be in that role. MO AG good pick.
Yep, and Bongino doesn’t have that. It was obvious from the way he reacted to things on his show. Whenever he got some pushback from his listeners he would go on a profanity laced tirade telling anyone who didn’t like what he was doing or did to F off and get lost. He did this multiple times. He did settle down after a while. He has a short fuse and gets stressed easily especially when he doesn’t get his way. He was always a liability. You could see this in some of the interviews he did where he basically told the base they didn’t know anything and they should sit down and shut up.
The one flaw that hurts President Trump the most is he apparently doesn’t know when or how to remove people and put in someone else. It bit him in the butt last time and it’s biting him in the butt this time.
I think Bongino would make an excellent FBI storm trooper, but he has never struck me as a strong leader who co-ordinates other people’s actions. We will see, but there aren’t many options that can penetrate the Fibbies and turn them into apolitical crime fighters.
He thought he would be saving the world from evil Giants who were terrorizing the Land.
Tilting at Windmills with his trusty but dim-witted companion “Sancho” Patel by his side.

He didn’t understand the enemy and didn’t understand his own limitations.
He never even lasted a year. I guess it easier to talk tough on a podcast than to actually do the work. I never thought that Kash or Dan would be able to turn things around at the agency. The rot is so deep there the only way to fix it is to shut it down, fire everyone and start over.
I think the better way to do it would be to advertise every position in the public square and tell the existing employees they can reapply for their jobs. You would have to do this incrementally. You would then be able to vet the existing employees as well as new applicants without having to “fire” the existing employees. Don’t know if this would be “legal” however. This would be HR’s job for awhile.
Maybe these two anonymous “sources” know what they are talking about and maybe they don’t. Maybe Bongino leaves and maybe he doesn’t. In the mean time, on to other news.
I’m skeptical.
