(1797-1828)

Austrian composer (Die schöne Müllerin), dies from syphilis and typhoid fever at 31

Biography: Franz Schubert was only 31 when he died, yet had composed over 600 works, a fraction of which were published within his lifetime. The son of a school teacher, he lived most of his life in obscurity in Vienna. It was only after his death in 1828 from typhoid fever and probably syphilis that the extent of his composition was discovered, published and performed.

Schubert is particularly known for his melodies and songs, writing over 500 of the later. Some of the most famous include “The Erlking”, “Mignon” songs from Goethe and those base don Walter Scott’s “Lady of the Lake”. Schubert wrote 8 more less completed symphonies, though his most well known is perhaps his “Unfinished Symphony” of 1822.

Here’s an interesting video (7 min) about “leaves” from the John 10:10 Project.

The leaves in my Southern area have been just dazzling this fall. 
During the first week of November I was shopping in my small town and actually had to pull over in parking lot for a bit to let my eyes feast on a particular tree.
It was in all its glory – pointing to our Creator, the Lord.

Regarding leaves – 
Lots of deer live in the woods behind our house.
For several years, we’ve noticed a certain deer who always roams and sleeps alone.
It’s sad to me – don’t understand why animals ostracize each other from the herd.

But hubs blows our leaves into a huge soft pile at the woods edge.
And, this lonely deer makes it her bed at night – she seems so appreciative.

My heart is always drawn to those who are marginalized in this world – even animals.

Those distant red lights are 322 which is about a half mile south of my house. Traffic has called a standstill. Apparently there’s an accident.

I’ve trucked along that hilly route many times.

I’d like to say this is unbelievable, but in this day and age it is totally believable.

Somewhere around here there is a picture of me standing in this exact same kind of tank standing in the commanders hatch wearing a Panzer oberloitent tunic.  

A guy on our team collected German WW II uniforms. We were in Houffalize, Belgium where a lot of fighting was done when elements of Patton’s 3rd Army were beating the Germans back from their advancements during the Battle of the Bulge. Houffalize was the town where Patton coming from the south and US forces under the command of British General Montgomery were to meet, there by cutting off the retreat of all the German troops that remained west of there. Thus the German fought with everything they had to try and keep an escape route open. 

The guy on my team had some of the uniforms with him and asked me to put on that uniform and pose for the photo. 

That tank had been blown off a overpass/bridge over RR tracks and a river the night 90 RAF Lancaster bombers blew that town to smithereens. It was upside down with the turret laying separate from the body of the tank. The Belgians righted and put it back together and set it up in as a monument to the approximately 70% casualties suffered by the towns people that night from that bombing and the fighting. 

Patton wrote new lyrics for the Christmas Carrol “O little town of Bethlehem,” to express his feelings about the destruction from the bombing that night.

COMMENTARY FOR EPHESIANS 4

“Exhortations to mutual forbearance and union. (1-6) To a due use of spiritual gifts and graces. (7-16) To purity and holiness. (17-24) And to take heed of the sins practised among the heathen. (25-32)

(1-6) Nothing is pressed more earnestly in the Scriptures, than to walk as becomes those called to Christ’s kingdom and glory. By lowliness, understand humility, which is opposed to pride. By meekness, that excellent disposition of soul, which makes men unwilling to provoke, and not easily to be provoked or offended. We find much in ourselves for which we can hardly forgive ourselves; therefore we must not be surprised if we find in others that which we think it hard to forgive. There is one Christ in whom all believers hope, and one heaven they are all hoping for; therefore they should be of one heart. They had all one faith, as to its object, Author, nature, and power. They all believed the same as to the great truths of religion; they had all been admitted into the church by one baptism, with water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, as the sign of regeneration. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Bet you think it is easy
With a direct line to God

In regard to female NYPD teaching women how to wear female Muslim headwraps: Has the average black woman given any thought ahead about all their elaborate wigs, weaves and hairstyles will be useless if they turn into wannabe hijab wearing Muslims? How many Salons and black beauticians will go out of business because of sharia law? Under sharia law, an unwed black woman who gives birth every year can be stoned to death. Also homosexuals and lesbians can be fighting for their livelihoods and their lives. Better be careful what you wish for and who you vote for. Homo-Bama said elections have consequences. Just saying: New Yorkers are doubling down on STUPID! But I’m not surprised by any of this. The world is not progressing, in spite of the Progressives. The 🌎 is regressing every day. For example, Eve (who lived in the garden of Eden in a perfect environment ) was easily deceived by Satan. He convinced her to go against God’s commands. Satan told her she had a better idea and the power to make her own rules. Then Adam followed suit and here we are…….

Thank you Father, for Your love and the gift of Life.

That the light of freedom inspired by our Creator and enshrined in our founding never be extinguished by acts of man.
