Vance is wrong. It isn’t ILLEGAL immigrants buying the houses (they cannot afford them), it is the LEGAL immigrants mostly on extended H1B visas which the Trump administration continues to let flow into our country unabaited.
If you can’t get a good paying job you can’t afford a mortgage. If you can’t get a good job because some HIB person is sitting in it, affordability isn’t the issue. Halt all immigration for three years. Let the millionaires cry.

I agree, that is part of it, but, the real reason is because people like Sean Hannity and more especially global elites are buying people out if their homes so the elite companies can rent them out at a high price.
I am always getting mailers, text messages, and letters offering for my home even though I have never indicated anywhere or anytime that is something I want to do. People I have done business with are obviously selling my data.

Three houses in my formerly nice neighborhood have all been turned into rental properties- these were family homes that all were owned by families that had been there long term.
All these homes are now such dumps that they’ll need to be condemned not that far from now.
This reminds me of what went on back in 2008 where we saw all sorts of people that couldn’t really afford a mortgage wind up being put into homes based upon a whole lot of shenanigans happening in the banking industry. When they all defaulted on those mortgages, this created the mortgage crisis.
What is happening right now is that a lot of complete losers with purple hair that are so dysfunctional that they previously couldn’t manage more than an apartment in town, they have somehow been put into all these nice rental homes in neighborhoods across the country and they live like pigs and destroy these place literally before our eyes.
It’s astonishing to witness the actual destruction of a home that starts within an hour of driving in the yard.
I see this going on all over and it’s going to become the next big problem.
They’ve destroyed these homes, they will be uninhabitable soon and this then impacts property values all around them.
I have THREE such places within a mile around me now.
We’re small government types that value freedom here, we try really hard not to over regulate and get into peoples lives.
We’re being forced now to put all sorts of ordinances in place to attempt to force these people to clean up these homes they’ve turned into dumps in order to protect the values of surrounding homes.
So again, this is the next big mess coming I believe.. one of many I’m sure.
Keep in mind that some of those homes bought up by the global elite are filled with illegals, and the elite get paid by government or some NGO, neither of which care about high rents. Pretty much everything happening in the housing market is significantly impacted by the tremendous influx of illegals. There is a huge impact on demand for housing, and that drives up prices and leads to things like global elites buying up single family homes as investments. Some people are making a lot of money in real estate off of the influx of illegals.
In our area of Collin County, TX those “Global Elites” are either Indian or Chinese … we get multiple calls daily from call centers and foreign owned real estate brokers.
They are buying them for workers being imported by the local tech companies, banks. medical professionals and more … or … they buy a home like mine that is owned by retired empty nesters looking to downsize (we raised 4-kids) and then rent them out .. housing 2-4 families in the same house … especially those receiving Government assistance money.
Exactly, that’s a carefully worded statement. VISA holders are what I would consider to be “scalping” properties, removing them from the market, and then resisting them some time later for an inflated price, playing the supply-side economics of the transaction. What’s more brazen, they are “marking” their properties with cultural decor to ensure that only more of the same type of immigrant will be the only ones who actually want to buy it. Brazilians in Florida are doing this mercilessly.

I agree and have thought that should be a requirement in some way such as having been a citizen for at least a year, qualify financially to purchase, be employed for more than a year and mortgage requirements being met fully by the individual purchasing the property before being allowed to purchase property/houses.
There also should be a limit, imo, on foreigners being able to buy huge amounts of land anywhere in the USA, unless immediate plans for a business to build a company on that land is granted by our govt. No delays on the project being built and occupied by a viable business as soon as the building is finished or it goes back on the market for sale.
I would prefer no foreign investors could by any property in the USA. Let foreign businesses rent the land for their company to build on.
Well, they are ,certainly living somewhere and perhaps the rentals they are in would end up in the market. They also increase the demand for rentals and obviously the cost of rent.
And the legal immigrants then bring in their parents, in-laws, aunts and uncles, under “family reunification” as soon as they get their green cards. And then EACH of those people immediately get onto SSI (NOT Social Security but Supplemental Security Income) along with Medicaid and SNAP, because they are “elderly” and “low income” and suddenly, they have $2-4K PER MONTH in cash which buys them a very nice 4BD/3BA house in the suburbs where they all live together – no English required!
I saw this starting 30-40 years ago when I was a bank teller, and the whole family would come in to cash their checks on the 1st of the month, accompanied by the ONE person who had a job, and spoke English!
Now, I see it first hand in my own neighborhood, where I have lived for 30 years and where I raised my family. Almost every house that has turned over in the past decade over gone to someone young, and foreign, who works in the tech industry. Within a short period of time after that, I see another elderly couple, walking up the street to the local Hindu temple, which was originally built about 10 years ago, and is currently undergoing a renovation to double its size!

I was over at a thrift store last week in Vermont buying second hand clothes because we believe in reusing perfectly fine clothes, plus it saves me money and I’m a single mother.
These two Asian women had their carts mounded over with stuff, totally full and over flowing with clothing.
I’m thinking to myself that they’re clothing their giant homes full of people like you say.
I wind up seeing them in the parking lot and they are loading up a brand new Volvo car !!
So here I am, the single mother at the thrift store, I put my three shirts for my kids I managed to find, that they didn’t take-into my seventeen year old car..
Many of us will never own a brand new car at all, nevermind a Volvo and yet somehow these non-English speaking new arrivals have one.
Here we are.. second class citizens in our country and somehow this happens with Trump in the White House.
And voters are noticing it! There were a lot of people who voted for the Republican ticket in 2024 who had either never voted before or who had always voted Democrat, because they believed that Donald Trump was going to destroy the Old Guard and bring back America for Americans!
Somehow, though, he has become surrounded by people who love the status quo and they are feeding him incredibly poor information!
Listening to him talk about H-1B visas was like listening to him brag about Operation Warp Speed until someone finally clued him in why everyone was booing!
Yes that was a poor poor choice to allow family members to come in and be granted all the benefits immediately. That along with birth right citizenship needs to go. It has been a real loop hole to get foreigners in our country without going through the normal immigration process.
I think the problem is different in different areas.
What we’re seeing up here, particularly in my state, is that because of what we all know is going on in all these deep blue cities, that is driving out anyone with a brain that functions and the means to leave.
The cities are emptying out across the country and they are buying up homes, often with fast cash, so this means the locals can’t find housing.
I’ve seen so many houses that are gone under contract the minute they hit the listings, locals don’t have a chance to go look at the place and it’s gone.
There is another issue that I’ve seen: the blacks that were in all the public housing we’re forced out and replaced by illegal aliens.
So all those blacks have been out there looking for housing..
I’ve been told this went on A LOT all over Connecticut.
There has been a massive re-shuffling of the deck and it’s really screwed things up.
My area has seen a huge influx of outta staters and we’re all pissed..
At our last election, there were 13 people running for one single seat on the Board of Selectmen because people are so irate about all this being dumped upon us.
Yes! I see people who sold homes in high priced areas like CA and NY moving into southern states, states whose residential houses were much lower priced. The newbies then buy in with cash, forcing current and long standing residents to compete for homes that now are too expensive for them or who don’t stand a chance against these cash loaded out of state buyers moving in. The cost of housing has many faces for the rise in prices everywhere.

In regards to private equity and investment trusts buying them up (and having them built) – that IS true. Now, who do they rent them to? The answer is anybody that pays the rent. Without the millions of illegal aliens in the housing market – be it renting or buying – the supply of housing will go up considerably, after which basic supply/demand economics will have an effect.

As a hard working American taxpayer, my view is everyone can stick it – I’m not paying for the government’s malfeasance and prefer the solution be a law that makes doing it a felony in order to prevent it from occurring in the future. I remember when Laura Ingraham was on her radio show, this is going back years now, I didn’t care for her but she came on right before Rush.
Well, to her credit, she really went big and A LOT about Tort Reform, the urgent need for it.
This had to be 10 years ago now at least.
So yes, we need this and yet I hear no one talking about it.
Someone should send her a Tweet and get her going on this again because she’s an attorney, she knows a lot about the topic.
Tort reform was a big issue during the tea party days I believe. Many people were pushing for it but the lawyers and politicians wanted no part of it, using the excuse the poor would not be able to sue because they couldn’t pay the expenses if they lost. Tort reform would be a really good move for all of us imo.

Don’t know the current overall numbers, but know a number that have and they tend to remain loyal to their homeland regardless. Read an interesting article, think it was by CIS, years ago that was data based showing that it wasn’t until the 3rd generation or more before immigrants started shedding the concepts and ideals of their homelands.
That was at a time when people assimilated. Now the government allows immigrants to congregate in dense hives and they never assimilate, but instead recreate their homelands. It’s one of the problems that needs to be fixed. Part of that is also allowing family to be brought in by them.
Agree on the dual citizenship issue. At this point in time, with the massive influx of the last 17 years (since Dopey was installed in the WH), there needs to be a flat out pause for 10 or 15 years – or until all of the legal immigrants have assimilated and all the illegal ones have been booted – whichever happens last.

For the Russians, it will be a big-big loss if we can get this money in any way. Be it a loan insured by other countries or another way. But if we can have these 140-160 billion, this will be a big loss for Putin and his circle of people. You know that it’s their money. And these are really big sanctions. To freeze money is one thing, but to give it to Ukraine is another. Not only for weapons. We will produce in Ukraine using this money. I saw someone report that the judge in the Comey case pulled the marshals security detail of Hanigan the prosecutor.
If true, it’s a definitely conflict of interest and they should be dealt with harshly for it.
