For some reason, there are States that have declared a state of emergency to come up with the funds to feed the residents of their state. Go Figure. All these years, EBT has relied on the Federal Government to supply these funds.
Questions:
If these States can fund EBT, why are they drawing it from the Federal Government?
Do these States expect Federal Government reimbursement after the shutdown is over?
If States can provide ‘free’ food, why is this program necessary?

My friend also advises that PDJT’s refusal to enact much of Vought’s alleged government restructuring plan has compromised the credibility of his future complaining about the bloat and corruption within the entities Vought planned to reorganize or to eliminate.
As an uninformed observer, I presently cannot understand why the President did not quickly seize upon the extraordinary opportunities to very significantly reduce the size of the bureaucracy and to materially improve its effectiveness.
Were the threatened massive reorgs and RIFs merely an ineffective bluff, with only a portion of them actually intended to be implemented?

There should be no SNAP benefits or WIC benefits or any benefits at all. The federal government was not established to provide handouts to anyone. It was established to handle matters that the states were not capable of handling on their own – such as national defense, immigration control, a national postal service, and not much else.
The Founders would have cursed at the idea of “SNAP benefits.” There would never have been a Constitution at all if any state had ever proposed freebies for the lazy. We are lost in this country. All of this needs to be shut down. In life, you either sink or swim, and that should be the law of the land.

It is now time for the Republicans to play their “TRUMP CARD,” and go for what is called the Nuclear Option — Get rid of the Filibuster, and get rid of it, NOW!
Just a short while ago, the Democrats, while in power, fought for three years to do this, but were unable to pull it off because of Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.
Never have the Democrats fought so hard to do something because they knew the tremendous strength that terminating the Filibuster would give them.
They want to substantially expand (PACK!) the United States Supreme Court, make Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico States (Thereby automatically picking up 4 Senate seats, many House seats, and at least 8 Electoral Votes!), and many other highly destructive things.
Well, now WE are in power, and if we did what we should be doing, it would IMMEDIATELY end this ridiculous, Country destroying “SHUT DOWN.”
