As the U.S. military continues targeting drug vessels from Venezuelan Transnational Criminal Organizations, the Dept of War is sending an entire U.S. Carrier Strike Group into the region. The Gerald Ford carrier strike group is pictured below:
The announcement was made by Pentagon Spokesperson Sean Parnell.
In support of the President’s directive to dismantle Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) and counter narco-terrorism in defense of the Homeland, the Secretary of War has directed the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group and embarked carrier air wing to the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) area of responsibility (AOR).
The enhanced U.S. force presence in the USSOUTHCOM AOR will bolster U.S. capacity to detect, monitor, and disrupt illicit actors and activities that compromise the safety and prosperity of the United States homeland and our security in the Western Hemisphere. These forces will enhance and augment existing capabilities to disrupt narcotics trafficking and degrade and dismantle TCOs. (link)
WASHINGTON DC – […] The arrival of the U.S.S. Gerald Ford, the Navy’s newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, alongside several destroyers and a submarine, will add to what is already the world’s largest naval deployment.
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell announced the move on X, saying the deployment “will bolster U.S. capacity to detect, monitor, and disrupt illicit actors and activities that compromise the safety and prosperity of the United States homeland and our security in the Western Hemisphere. ”
The warships will add to the 10,000 troops and a dozen F-35 fighters which have been sent to the region over the last several weeks.
B-52 and B-1B Lancer bombers have flown close to Venezuela’s coast in recent days, as warplanes and drones sunk seven alleged drug-running boats. The actions, which expanded into the Pacific on Thursday with an eighth strike, have killed dozens of people the Pentagon has labeled as “narco-terrorists.” (read more)

China’s puppet is in for some attitude adjustment….
Let’s see if this has any effect on China’s attitude as well….
Timing is EVERYTHING….
I doubt this will change minds of Chicoms regarding life choices, sunk cost fallacy and all.
As to the narcotraffickers, they shouldn’t have made Faustian bargains. Will they regret it? Quite possibly, a lot.
“China’s puppet is in for some attitude adjustment….”
Old enough to remember that tried and true expression:
“When ya got ’em by the ba!!z…..their hearts and minds will soon follow!”
And, suddenly, the War on Drugs is so 1980s.
I don’t remember carrier groups being sent anywhere in the 1980’s. If you have a link, I will be interested in reading the history. Thanks in advance…….
Maybe the Iranian hostage situation in 80-81
I don’t want to speak for the good Lt….
But first thing that come to my mind is Panama…
Perhaps this is his reference point…
In the 1980s (Cold War), carrier groups (particularly the U.S. Navy’s carrier battle groups; see USS Ranger and USS Kitty Hawk) were frequently deployed in regions such as the Pacific and the Mediterranean. You can peruse some of the U.S. Navy cruise books that were published for these deployments at https://www.navysite.de/cruisebooks/
I deployed with a carrier group (USS Ranger CV-61 with carrier air wing 2 embarked) to WestPac and the IO in the 80’s. After a brief stop in Subic we transited the Straits of Malacca en route to the North Arabian Sea where Ranger spent most of its time. (We, as destroyermen, had a mid-deployment upkeep period with the duty tender in Diego Garcia — I want to say Ajax AR-4 but might be mis-remembering). Our reward at end of deployment was port visit to Western Australia, Ranger going into Freemantle (Perth). We were up the coast a bit in Geraldton. That after “crossing the line” and getting inducted into the domain of Neptunus Rex as Trusty Shellbacks.
Geraldton had a big business shipping live sheep to the Saudis. Apparently sheep have to be slaughtered while facing Mecca or something like that. Top of a ship was covered with hay bales and all the lower decks packed with sheep. Pier stunk like h-e-double el.
Anyway they dropped us off at Pearl on the way back (our homeport) and Ranger sailed back to the West Coast.
Until the end of the cold war, two carrier battle groups as known then (part of 6th Fleet) were always in the Med, one east of Italy one west, except during “national week” where both battle groups operated together. But after the fall of the Shah, destroyers were peeled away to augment the MidEastForce in the Persian Gulf, then eventually whole battle groups rotating with the Pacific 7th Fleet as 5th Fleet was stood up.
In those days USS Midway CV-41 was permanently forward deployed in Yoko Japan, but after she was decommed there have been several CV/CVN in there
Thank you sir, for that enlightening bit of history. And – thanks for your service. Go Navy!
Seems to me we’re going to pound some ground targets sooner rather than later. It’s not called a carrier “strike group” for nuthin’.
I can’t wait!
Just like Ukraine was the Stupid Country to try to pin down the US in the European theater, Venezuela is proving to be the Stupid Country to the south.
Question now is who they find to be the Stupid Country in the Asian-pacific theater, so as to distract from China?
What will US and Canadian politicians do without their extra incomes?
I dunno, maybe the food banks will open special express checkout lines for the families of said politicians
along with the families of all the unpaid Sea Yeye Yeaers.
Maybe a Pfizer has a solution?
I just say this: WATCH CUBA!
Such a nice change to see our warships on the hunt for drug cartels. Finally, a mission to save AMERICAN lives. It’s been too long.
So sick of seeing our fighting men and women acting as social workers around the world, delivering aid via land, sea, and air to trash who hate us.
Happy hunting!!!
So true. Glad we’re delivering something other than aid.
I imagine you are aware of Joint Task Four, established in 1989, as well as its re-designated self JIATF East (1994): interagency coordination with heavy Navy presence for drug interdiction in the Caribbean.
This sort of operation has been in play for a long time. The BG is there for a different purpose; an interesting development.
The legal aspects of all of this remain interesting as well. Clearly, there is a heavy intelligence arm lurking in the shadows.
The sooner the better.
Why are we not intercepting ships coming from China into Mexican and Venezuela ports ?
This is where all the fentanyl and chemicals to make fentanyl are coming and we can’t leave out Canada because the Sikhs are manufacturing in Canada and it’s well known the exact location.
I read online that the Seventh Fleet is deployed in the Pacific Ocean and that they are responding to challenges from nations like China and North Korea that include combating drug trafficking, primarily that associated with foreign vessels transporting precursor chemicals used for synthesizing illegal drugs. This was stated to be part of the U.S. military’s expanded counter-narcotics campaign.
We could start with federal investigations and charges right here at home with the Pharma companies who started the fentynal crises. They push fentynal until their victims run out of insurance money, or need ever increased dosing. Then turn to the black market.
Then the Pharma companies sell suboxone to play treat the addictions.
As we were informed by this administration that our borders are now “secure”, these alleged by the administration to be drug smuggling boats must be heading to other countries.
Instead of the massive expense of sending a carrier group with thousands of marines to intercept short ranged outboard power boats, we could investigate the off the books side businesses of the CIA, which include illicit arms sales, drug distribution and hitmen for hire.
Venezuela is a rounding error in the conduit of illegal drug transports, so this operation is obviously another undeclared and un Constitutional war initiated through the Presidential office. All wars must be declared by Congress.
People are being killed on international waters with zero evidence presented to justify declaring war, let alone blowing people up as a precursor to more of our state sponsored violence.
The fact that previous administrations engaged in this illegal, immoral and unconstitutional activity of circumventing Congress to entangle our nation in overseas wars does not make it acceptable that Trump is doing this.
There is nothing conservative, moral or within the campaign promises made by Trump in this unbecoming of a president behavior.
A defensive war does not need permission from Congress.
I didn’t know that. Hmmm. Nice.
War was never declared against North Vietnam, in that 19 year long “Police Action”.
Yet the U.S. cycled millions of troops through this undeclared war, with an in country force as large as 550,000 U.S. troops.
War Powers Resolution wasn’t enacted until 1973.
You have not read our Constitution, because if you had, you would not make this statement.
We have a Marcia,“Marcia, Retired Magistrate here”…on a branch…if this is here, she is a lawyer….
Defensive Maneuvers in this Hemisphere are the Monroe Doctrine.
True…for direct and imminent threats.
The last Declaration of War was against Romania, over 80 years ago.
Correct, and illustrates the time period of transition of our government completely abandoning Constitutional restraints.
Along with the degradation of education to dumb down the public into accepting infantile narratives and acceptance of being ruled by incompetence.
We voted your hero Biden out…
Friday starts the trolling on focused threads.
Not worth the reply.
Why don’t you find a judge somewhere on the left coast to place an injunction on this administration for doing this.
The nation declared a War on Drugs a long time ago. It also declared a War on Terrorism, with a still active AUMF in place, quite a while ago (which has been used by every president since Congress passed it for going after terrorists around the world). Then there is the long standing view by both parties that acts of defense are within the decision making powers of the President. Considering the number of deaths due to fentanyl and other drugs, along with the still quite active South and Central American terrorist groups operating in the US, a plausible case can be made for self defense. There is nothing “unconstitutional” about it.
Further, Congress has been notified and the Senate voted on the matter on October 8th and the application of the War Powers act was voted down, which is a vote that it doesn’t fall under its auspices.
Democrats forced a vote on the issue under the War Powers Act. In a 48-51 vote, the effort failed to garner enough support to move forward.
The Trump administration says it has conducted four strikes on alleged drug-trafficking boats near Venezuela since Sept. 2, killing at least 21 people.
In a notification to Congress after the second strike in mid-September, the Trump administration said the U.S. is in a “non-international armed conflict” with drug cartels it has designated as terrorist organizations. The drugs smuggled by these cartels kill tens of thousands of Americans each year and constitute an “armed attack” against U.S. citizens, according to the White House.
The Trump administration has designated several drug cartels and gangs as terrorist organizations, including Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua, Mexico’s Sinaloa Cartel and El Salvador’s MS-13.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was at the Capitol on Wednesday to meet with Senate Republicans, told reporters the president has the authority to order the strikes without congressional authorization. – Oct 8th, CBS News
There is absolutely nothing “unbecoming” about a president who defends his nation and her people against terrorists and drug traffickers – in fact it is his job to do so. Further, it falls well within his campaign promises.
Your lengthy diatribe in an attempt to justify commencing a regime change against a sovereign country, quoting a deep state operative Marco Rubio is pathetic.
Tren de Aguara, just like ISIS and aL-Qaeda are American CIA created terrorist organizations, for the purposes to cause regime changes in targeted nations.
A Congressional declaration of war against a foreign nation is the only Constitutional and legal means to commence active, lethal actions.
Designating terrorist groups which we created to justify regime changes are not a legitimate work around of Constitutional authority.
There is no evidence presented that any of the motor boats destroyed and individuals killed were engaged in drug trafficking with an ultimate destination in the US. None.
To make a legitimate case to present to Congress and the American people that these accused, who were executed without presenting a modicum of evidence that they were even transporting drugs, let alone to US destinations through an alleged “secure” border is preposterous.
In the event that all these people liquidated were guilty as accused, where is the proof that they were working on behalf of the current Venezuelan regime?
The fact that multiple presidential administrations act unconstitutionally and entangle our nation in wars that have bankrupted our treasury and reputation is not a valid basis to justify this administration.
It is your prerogative to lobby and obfuscate our national security and Constitution for the financial benefit of corporations wanting to exploit resources in foreign countries. But just be upfront about it and avoid dishonoring our Constitution in an attempt to justify wasting public funds and servicemen’s lives to accomplish it.
Nice try. Where are you from ? It’s not the US.
cry me a river…
A veiled accusation in your post accusing Harrison of wanting to exploit resources in foreign countries. Maybe next time one of these ships is spotted you would volunteer to be dropped off on the ship to discern the integrity of the people on said ships and while you are there you could check the cargo to determine what, exactly, it is. Just to make sure.
It was a chemist gone wrong from the Bay Area who unleashed fentanyl citrate into the black market decades ago.
As far as punishing the pHarma Ghouls who pressed and passed around the Doctor Dope during the Oxycodone Tsunami from 1998-2011, I am afraid that ship has sailed like the Carrier Group.
I have zero faith this Administration would do or say anything detrimental of Big pHarma.
That may be where my question on the Panama Canal comes in, given that the precursors are from China and in the first days of the new Secretary of State Rubio spending time in Panama about the control of the Canal am wondering if that is a move the maritime forces are being tasked to be off the coast of South America – to stop the flow of precursors as well as the finished product.
Makes me wonder about the ports of Balboa & Cristobal in Panama.
Slow down there bud. We’re not going to seize any Chinese ships.
I’ve had it with the drug addiction deaths -over a 100K a year for well over a decade now.
Enough is enough, this has ravaged families for far too long, it’s grown the Welfare State, the fallout goes on and on.
This has been a foreign attack that we’ve been enduring, I’m done, take these narco-terrorists out- it’s about time!!
“Enough is enough, this has ravaged families for far too long, it’s grown the Welfare State, the fallout goes on and on.”
It’s grown the Welfare (dependent) State.
Much easier to defeat your enemy once you have identified their tactics.
Oh what a lovely war, sis!!
Well past time.
More importantly, it is a just war.
My point exactly, dear sir 👍🏻
This one is personal.
Side note – thought it was a girl asking the question until the camera panned to whatever it was.
“They’re going to be like, dead!”
President Trump has a special way with words.
😁
Like my grandson’s dad…
One of my grandchildren lost their daddy to a fentanyl laced drug OD. It’s time.
Step back from the trees and behold the forest.
The mass destruction of illicit drugs is part of the overall US decline that cannot be stopped.
If the one drug is stemmed, other drugs will fill the gap.
The current highly-publicized military actions against Venezuela etc. are theater.
https://www.thenorthstar.com/p/watch-in-54-seconds-rand-paul-completely
Media decries that Trump is planning on invading Venezuela so he can confiscate their oil reserves and give them to his super-duper rich campaign donor buddies in 3…2…1……..
beginning to think we need to stop blowing up the boats and start confiscation of contents, mules and boats then we should sink, dismantle, or sale the boats
You mean, what we’ve been doing?
We’ve had a presence in the region for a long time doing exactly that.
Maybe a particular bit of ground down that way could provide a target rich environment.
Um, maybe this more than just Venezuela drug running:
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/suitcases-filled-dollars-venezuela-reportedly-propped-americas-radical-left-sow-chaos
Maduro gives suitcases filled with 20 million to the founder of BLM in 2012 with Danny Glover also present–this is a stunning read
You saw the information a while back by DataRepublican exposing the Chinese billionaire funding the radical leftists in America, right? Or UK billionaire Christopher Hohn who did the same thing ($553 Million in his case), yet didn’t make the list for the WH meeting on the matter?
Or forget that it was China who provided considerable wealth to the Biden and Clinton crime syndicates (as well as likely Dopey’s – although his was more malice than about funding)?
The list of socialists, marxists, leftists, communists, and foreign governments funding the left and the destruction of the nation and way of life we hold dear is long and it’s been going on for a long time…
Hey, Rand Paul – nobody cares what you think.
Randy Paul has never had an original thought in 25 years. He moans and groans constantly without any solutions. He wants a balanced budget so how about cutting off all the money to Kentucky as an example and see how he squeals.
He probably won’t. He would applaud it.
The biggest Ponzi scheme in the world is the USA tax code. Give money to Uncle Sam (Herman Cain called him Uncle Sugar) and then beg for some of it back. The same corrupt organisation prints money thereby depleting our checking, savings and investments values ($1.00 in 1912 equals $1.00; now $1.00 equals $0.03…that’s a helluva hit!) and Rand, Massie and a small number of others want to end this.
I want Trump to be successful in his endeavours and I think he should stop listening to some of his advisors who are not America First (they just play one on TV) and perhaps consider what Rand and Massie suggest.
Sorry, rant over.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. 😉
and now he is going out of his way to support fellow Kentuckian Thomas Massie.
Remember Osama bin Laden’s oh so respectful “burial at sea”? About as believable as the J6 “pipe bomber”, or a certain planted Mauser. Regardless, I was furious that, assuming we believed the charade, we should consider it appropriate to honor a mass murderer in such a way.
Glad there’s no such pearl clutching by the new sheriff in town, regarding these narco terrorists. Blown to bits, then useful as fish food, then rot in hell. A great way to honor their “customs”.
Statements made by our government that are unsubstantiated by any evidence justify blowing people up over a 1,000 miles from our shores?
You “know” that your government is not lying to you, because it has a long history of being truthful?
Rule of law and separation of powers have long been annuled, we have devolved into a terrorist state.
Yes, all those bundles floating in the ocean after the strikes were really just diapers and baby milk destined to help the indigent in America, carried by your “run-of-the-mill”, ocean-going speedboats with 4 top-of-the-line outboards in order to get them here before the next feeding…
I’m surprised that none of the drug boats were named “Baby Milk Factory”. /s
Well stated sir and good luck persuading the rah-rah peace through strength (force) crowd.
Monroe Doctrine, Milktoast.
Let’s pray to The Lord of the harvest that our fellow Americans’ hearts and minds will be transformed by His glorious gospel. That’s the only way for the drug market demand to cease.
In the meantime, we Americans continue to fund Chinese military operations and drug trafficking schemes into the southern hemisphere and Mexico with the purchase of Chinese Communist JUNK.
Monroe Dontrine anyone?
🕶️✝️🕶️
FORD was in Croatia in the Adriatic Sea when this announcement was made. She left Norfolk in June on a regular deployment, and it looks like she’s going to spend the last couple months of her deployment in the Caribbean Sea instead of hanging around on NATO/EU’s southern flank as they try to provoke open war with Putin.
The Trump Administration is committed to so many ongoing and long planned new wars that asset deployments become serious issues.
The lack of munitions and replacement capacity is another issue. Maybe we need another trillion on our debt for the MIC and Pentagon.
Nice try – go away
Why stop the conversation with those with whom you disagree? Tundra is making salient points.
Truth has no agenda.
But propaganda does.
Is he making salient points? I guess that assumption is in the eye of the reader here? The track record of this poster brings on these responses.
President Trump shut down illegal crossings on the southern border , so things have to get smuggled by some other route.
You buy into the narrative that the southern border is secure? Obviously haven’t been there lately.
“So things have to get smuggled by some other route”.
Michigan borders Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, and Lake Superior. If you cross any of these
lakes you are in Canada.
What has happened in Canada over the last few years ? Chi Coms have shipped the makings of Fentanyl
into Canada. At a guess, this has been going on since before 2019ish , or the covid start years.
What was going on in the state bordering 4 great lakes during the Covid years? No one was allowed to
utilize their power boats on the Great Lakes in Michigan, per Gretchin Whitmer. Anybody else wonder
if that edict was less to keep people safe from covid, and more to allow shipments to arrive from Canada,
without being seen?
Where are “The winds of November come early…”?
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald……..
That’s why I advocate for a northern border wall.
Trump’s western hegimony of the Western Hemisphere is being fully demonstrated with his version of the Monroe Doctrine which he boldly proclaimed at the beginning of his 47th Presidency, i.e. Panama Canal, Greenland and now Venezuela and Columbia. Personally, I think 47 is equally concerned about the infiltration of China and Hezbollah elements into the infrastructure of Venezuela and Columbia in addition to the narco terrorist importation of drugs into the USA! GOD BLESS 47!
World thinks strike force is for Venezuela.
Panama canal zone is taken in lightening strike.
Dare to dream. . .
Canal Zone Brat here…BHS grad of ‘76…I hope & pray every day.
The ChiComs are building land bridges over the Darien Gap into Colombia to access the Atlantic according to Micheal Yon..
They (ChiComs) are wrestling with Blackrock over control of the Pacific ports on either side of the Canal is what I read..
Think they control both ends of canal for at least 15 years.
“Waters off South America” – that’s a pretty big area of patrol. I had been assuming just in the Gulf of America area, but the reporter said several times ‘off the coast of South America’ – that’s a pretty huge continent.
Am wondering now, is there an additional reason other than the cartels moving product to have such a buildup of our maritime forces ‘in the waters off South America’ as the reporter says, such as protection of the Panama Canal given the stress in relations between the U.S. and China?
That question or thought of protecting the Canal, is the media talk about on the ground moves against Venezuela a distraction from the other task, other than taking out the cartels?
Just read the local funeral home obituary notices and you can reasonably identify which deaths are due to overdoses. Such a tragic waste of life for the victims and families.
It would appear there are strike forces stationed all over the world. Is it the start of something big.
I am thrilled that our President and the American military are going to defend our people. This is incredible!
Is it perhaps also the case that pulling the Ford and her group out of the Med at this particular time is designed to also send a message in that part of the world?…
(…- Incidently, I dunno what the Pentagon press office are playing at, but that’s not the Ford nor her Strike Group in the photo…)
I wonder as these boats are targeted one by one…where exactly are they launched from and where are they headed? Why not get the recipients in a “two fee”?
Remember when I used to “scream type” that if we were serious about stopping the Lions’s Share of the hard dope we would figure out how to search every single car/pickup/18 Wheeler/Church bus, railroad car or pedestrian coming from Canadiastan or Down Mexico Way? ..
That Was Awesome!!
I get that we need to commandeer Venezuela for a number of reasons but if drug laden fast boats are going to be “the reason” why didn’t we start Military maneuvers to affect regime change in Mexico yet?
They have oil.. They are run by Cartels.. They are being heavily influenced by the ChiComs..
AND they have COMEX.. we could REALLY use that right about now..
To be frank, this kinda feels like a play by Marco to please his Venezuelan Donors in Miami who were many of the Moguls of Industry prior to the Communist Takeover. This, if played correctly would help him with a funding a VP Campaign or Presidential Bid or help land him a cushy consulting job in a Prosperous Venezuela..
It’s a helluva gamble with so many irons in the fire..
WAR ON DRUGS IS TAKING A FRONT ROW SEAT
WE ARE COMING……SEEK AND DESTROY
FAFO…..LOVE IT
I wonder what China and Russia think of the new name “The Department of War”.
Only Congress can rename an agency. It is still “The Department of Defense”.
This “Department of War” thing continues the incoherent disunity chaos image which the US government has presented for years. Self-undermining.
This was the historic original name.
Could we rename that Carrier Strike Group?
What’d that tanglefoot pervert Gerald Ford ever do worth celebrating?
I can’t forget what MK ULTRA survivor Kathy O’Brien said about that creepazoid.
Might could be a bad omen for this particular mission.
Chevy Chase Carrier Strike Group.
Howabout the USS Thankyou For Your Attention To This Matter? (Readers of Iain M Banks’ sci-fi ‘Cultureverse’ series books, might possibly ‘get’ where I’m going with this…)
… – Btw, I always prefered the Cold-War era term, ‘Carrier Battle Group’ to the more recent version.
Extending the futile expensive neverending ‘drug war’ (been ‘fighting’ since the days of Nixon and only moving backwards) into the mother of all quagmires.
One of the nation’s big policy failures of the past 50 years.
My Grandson is a Coastie. His ship was just in the news for making a HUGE drug seizure in the eastern Pacific.
I understand the president’s passion about stopping illegal drugs, knowing what they did to his relatives. They tried stopping alcohol and made the Kennedys and the mafioso rich…I just wonder how much oxygen legalising these drugs would take from the cartels?
I know it won’t happen….I look at this War on Drugs as really a war of the CIA HQ versus CIA Field Ops.
It’s smoke and mirrors…there are trillions at stake.
Unlike alcohol, these are sometimes fantastically lethal substances.
Venezuela is not a big drug cartel country like Mexico or Columbia, or even Cuba.
This is about stealing their oil and rare earths, probably even their gold and silver.
Venezuela has about 1,300 miles of ocean shoreline, about a 1,300 mile border with Columbia, and about a 1,300 mile border with Brazil. It is about the size of France and Germany combined. Impossible to take over and control. So theft of its natural resources, as Victoria and the Zionists envisioned for Russia via the Ukraine War, is the only explanation.
“This is about stealing their oil and rare earths, probably even their gold and silver.”
“Impossible to take over and control”
Seems like a contradiction.
I will leave that sort of speculation to those who like to do so. There is an illegal drug trade pouring in from these countries, and it is the duty of USA military and law enforcement to do something meaningful about it.
I would also make the comment that “rare earths” are not actually all that “rare.” It’s simply that they aren’t found in veins or deposits by themselves. For example, many are found in iron and copper mines, as well as gold and silver, mixed in with what the miners were actually interested in. Such that some companies are actually re-processing the tailings piles of prospect operations in the midwest, and recovering meaningful amounts of minerals from them. Some of the chemical processes needed are expensive, so its tricky to make them profitable. But the stuff is there, usually in small amounts, and you can get it. No single country has a monopoly on this.
So, the United States has plenty of these “rare” things, too. It simply hasn’t been going after them, in favor of “cheaper” sources with fewer regulations.
It’s fine to blow up an incoming motorboat. But, where are those boats going? Where do they dock? Who unloads them? Meaningful interdiction of this illegal trade must cover all areas of the cargo flow.
Just like in our country, the head terrorist Maduro remains untouched
A carrier group for drug interdiction? Like using a bazooka to kill mosquitos.
All show.
War on drugs? Hilarious. Weed, vape and liquor shops all over every city. Homeless shooting fentanyl in the open.
Follow the money. That is all the powers that be cares about.
Cocaine and heroin were once medicine in the US.
Coffee was once a drug in the US.
Opioids are legal for Big Pharma and doctors to push to make serious coin.
I see people everyday smoking weed while driving.
Rx opioid pain treatment medications are dirt cheap. Some physicians were paid to promote opioids; but how is this different than from all the other medications they promote and are paid for (statin drugs, blood pressure meds, and all the rest).
The ‘serious coin’ regarding pain patients is made by ‘pushing’ expensive procedures esp. spinal steroidal injections (banned in many countries bc of the risks) and machinery they install in patients esp (ghastly)) spinal cord stimulators, which almost never work. But the insurance companies like it.
Humans have used opiates for thousands of years to treat pain. There has been a staggering overreaction to legal rx pain medications to the point where tens of millions of pain patients are denied these lifesaving medications. Cancer patients cannot get pain treated, mastectomy patients are given Tylenol only … the horror stories are legion. This has driven millions of people, many senior citizens, to the street and black market fentanyl.
If someone needs pain treatment for, say, a kidney stone–and they think that surely their pain will be treated because they are different or special — they are probably going to get a very unpleasant surprise.
Quit coddling loser drug users and demand for drugs will dry up.
Chasing an endless supply is useless.
Your comment lacks any critical thinking. Drug users come from all walks of life and are often started on the path by a legally prescribed drug.
More excuses and coddling. Who cares that they come from all walks of life.
Shooting million dollar plus missiles at motor boats is not good bang for buck. In fact, it is downright stupid.
Bread and circuses.
This is what the “war on drugs” should have looked like.
Drug trafficker boats being vaporized.
Would like to see their aircraft being vaporized.
Submarines being sunk.
Land strikes = smart munition striking drug processing buildings as well as cartel owned buildings and dwellings.
Cyber campaign fingering a key drug king pin or two as the “INTEL sources for the strikes”.
… and more.
Love the photo of the ships – very impressive!
