Having spent a considerable amount of time in the geopolitical orbit of both leaders, this meeting puts a very significant smile on my face. When respectful serious men cut through the nonsense of propaganda, containing ulterior motives created by others, good things happen. This is a very good start.

Been a long time since serious and consequential men (and women) were astride the world stage-would have to be Reagan, Gorbachev, Thatcher, John Paul 2 era. There was such an internet ‘to do’ about the military aircraft flying over as Trump and Putin walked down the red carpet. Of course, the internet was indicating that this was a sign of ‘power’ that Trump was conveying, and that Putin was ‘shocked’ at the tech oncology and ability of the aircraft. I took it another way. I think that this was a sign of respect that Trump was showing to Putin.
