Who the heck wants to swap their brand new battery for who knows what? I would never go for that.
As for the 5 minute charge, usually that means shortened battery life as you still generate massive amounts of heat doing it which will have to be mitigated or it will go Tesla on you.
Lead/acid batteries have a max life when new of about 6-hours between battery changes but depends on its use in a factory/weight of loads moved, then they charge for 8-12 hours to keep maximum life & I never saw or heard of a Pb/HCl battery catching fire , only if someone drops metal across un-shielded cell connectors then ….. it will melt the item dropped on it which could ignite flammable materials near it due to extreme heat.
Battery swapping for cars only, has been happening on forklifts for 50+ years.
The difference is that all batteries are owned by the forklift owner as red fox points out below.
All batteries put into cars would have to be “standardized”, not an easy thing for cars.
I could see how it could work if you bought a car without a battery and could “shop” for a battery swap/charging station vendor to swap your battery out when it runs outta power…. such as taking a trip requiring a charge stop currently or a way easier battery swap if your “charged battery vendor” has a location between where you are wanting to go.

Current Lithium battery technology could make the “standardization” much easier as well as much lighter than a 3-4 thousand pound battery that can & will hurt you if not very careful.

The problem with U.S. Nuclear power plants is that they are all one-ups. That is, each one is unique and special in its own way. This increases costs in many ways.
The French did a good thing and made all of their plants generally ‘cookie cutters’ of each other. They share parts, operations, etc.

The answer is new SMRs (Small Modular Reactors.) They are modular, therefore identical and small enough they can be mass-produced in a factory and transported intact to the install site. Plug and play.

True, but coal would be much quicker to build, and we need the power now. It is also a purposeful slap in the face to the environmental whackos regarding their climate change scam and the role CO2 plays in that. In reality, the scam is just another nothing burger.

And all it takes is state and federal licenses to put them in place and online, along with the willingness of local folks to want them in place.
I expect it is faster to build coal fired boilers than nuclear fired boilers. Plus you can just pile the fuel out in the back yard.
We need energy NOW. All these Data Centers require tons of energy. Coal plants are probably the quickest answer.
