There’s no sympathy for Bob Menendez at all; however, all things considered, he was convicted of doing the same thing that every Senator on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee does, and the same thing that Joe Biden did for decades… Sell the influence of their office to foreign countries. They all do it.
The difference with Senator Bob Menendez was only that he was so open about doing it, and he dropped all the pretenses that usually provide the plausible deniability factor. Today the judge sentenced him to 11-years in federal prison.

In exchange, Menendez and his wife, Nadine Arslanian Menendez, received gifts including gold bars, cash and luxury cars.

The ‘bad guys’ that ‘ran’ Menendez are eating him now; but they will continue to protect the real reason he was protected and blackmailed. He was involved with child trafficking and using along with Epstein.
Get the list out in the open and send them to prison for their real crimes.

Living in New Jersey, as I did 15 years ago, is like living in an alternate reality. New Jersey is known to have one of the most corrupt government in the United States, and analysis has determined it’s due to its age. Instead of government reforms they just pile on more and more layers of graft and bureaucracy.
Pa. and Md. are the same. Up until recently Va had a very good government due to the Governor can only serve one term. They are not in office long enough to appoint their cronies and family throughout the government.

My husband and I had guns drawn on us at the southern border; he took a picture of me going through customs . I was never so glad to be back ‘home’. There was a couple who were from NJ that witnessed the whole event and we crossed feeling like real neighbors.

The prosecution of Menendez is for the same reason as the prosecution of Eric Adams in NYC: party discipline. I think they both criticized open borders.
The part I enjoy is, right when Jack Smith failed again with Trump, Bob Menendez finally gets convicted and sentenced to 11 years for corruption. Menendez was a fish in a barrel that Jack Smith could not hit no matter how many bullets he shot at it. Right when Smith had to fold his two Trump cases, Menendez goes down, probably to some Assistant United States Attorney.
