We need to arrest and deport 8,000 illegal aliens per day.
We have to AT LEAST double that. The good news is, once it ramps up, there’s a chance that some will self deport so they are not caught.

I think the self-deported numbers will be higher, perhaps significantly higher, than the numbers of arrests and deported. This mess may clean itself up to a large extent.

There’s very good incentive for “good” illegals to position themselves on the other side of the border in order to regain entry under legal process. If they have been tracked as having been here illegally but deported themselves? I can only imagine that it will count in their favor in the future. Why should we blame them for being taken in?

That is how many need to be removed from US soil. They can leave either on their own or via deportation, it doesn’t matter so long as they end up gone.
The more who self-deport the fewer ICE needs to round up, process and deport.
The greater the “shock and awe,” the more publicity over raids and deportation flights, the more TV appearances by Tom Homan… the more illegals will choose to self-deport.
If they can get the ratio up to say 20:1, with 20 self-deportations to every one removed by ICE then ICE will only need to eject about 730 per day vs. 14,600 leaving on their own.
Historically a significant portion of illegals only stay in the US for a few years anyway. Some come here permanently. But many illegals come here, stay for a while to make money, then go back home. Other illegals come in to replace those who left. Ending the pipeline of new illegals will make sure those who leave are not replaced by new arrivals. That will naturally make the overall population of illegals inside the USA taper down somewhat.
As more illegals exit by however they exit, those who remain will find it harder and harder to hide. They will start to stand out because there will no longer be a huge population to blend into. The organizations who shelter and enable illegal immigrants will begin to dry up and lose funding. The person-to-person networks that give illegals the info on where to go, where to stay, how to hide, all those will dry up. Meanwhile the mechanics of roundup, process, deport will be honed into a finely-tuned machine.
It is do-able. Not easy for sure, but do-able.
Self-deportation is a real side effect of aggressive enforcement. People getting fed up and going home because they can’t work is a way to get to that number as well.
However, if they are actually deported they cannot ever come back to USA and apply for citizenship.
shutting off the federal AND the NGO and the state funding “give aways” is a must.
just as President Trump has used his economic levers to compel foreign nation states to comply with sensible relations with the US, so too must he use the same strategies to deal with these three “agencies” who act against the interests of his policies.

Before the first Trump administration, the estimates of illegals was between 11 and 14 million illegals in the US. After the first term, I am unclear what the estimates were. But during the Biden administration, there was unprecedented levels of illegals coming across the border (10,000+/day?) + uncountable “got aways”+those who completely escaped notice. With this, plus flights of unknown rates, I find it HARD to believe the estimate is still 11 million.
I would find an estimate of 20 million to be more reasonable but that’s just my biased view. But it is not my biased view that it’s definitely higher than 11 million as there is no evidence that the number of illegals in the US was significantly reduced under Trump’s first term. That is to say there were no “mass deportations” during the first Trump term as there are under the second.
I have to say, the more I see Tom Holman in pressers, interview appearances, the more he looks like an enforcer for the mob… In Trump’s terms, “He is central casting” and the bonus is he’s effective, experienced and determined. The illegals ought to be frightened and start packing up. There’s zero sky between them and their deportation.
