Biography: Josiah Wedgwood was born into a family of potters, but in an awful irony couldn’t work a potters’ wheel himself after a bout with smallpox left one of his legs badly damaged. As he wasn’t a potter, Wedgwood was able to focus on design. He researched and introduced many new innovative types of pottery including his creamware, black basaltes, and jasperware, the later in new colors including his company’s signature blue known to the world today as ‘wedgwood blue’.
Wedgwood supported the abolition of slavery and in 1787 his firm designed a famous medallion depicting a bound black slave that was mass-produced and donated to the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade.
Wedgwood was also famous for his sales and marketing, using such familiar modern day techniques as money-back guarantees, illustrated catalogues, buy one get one free, and celebrity endorsements, selling to Queen Charlotte and Catherine the Great. Biography: Grenville Mellen Dodge was a Union Army officer and a key figure in military intelligence during the Civil War, known for serving as Ulysses S. Grant’s intelligence chief in the Western Theater. Dodge also played a significant role in the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. We have a group of 7 couples that frequent our yard. This morning, a male cardinal and female blue jay were sharing the feeder in the back yard. Fun watching!
I’ve heard of these large groupings but never see more than our couple or maybe one male chashing off another.
Possibly our greenbelt territory is too small to accomodate multiples. Same with our bluejays – never more than one pair at one time.
Finches, crows, sparrows, juncos – it’s like a party with them. The more the merrier!
Error, this is the first year we’ve had so many cardinals. The sparrow population was huge too. We only see one or two blue jay couples. It was strange that there was almost no night songs from our mocking birds this past spring and summer. Each year seems a little different, keeps me guessing who will drop by for a season. In acknowledging my llimits (and fixing boundaries accordingly) I am really stretched these days–these years.
The sheer volume of threatening current events and complex domestic enemies who are barreling at us at fullspeed–it’s well beyond what I can pretend to be able to take in, process, and respond to in any kind of useful or survivable way.
Living our best life must include honesty about our limits. Just as Elon Musk and the rest of “them” will never have peace by doing everything that comes to mind, things they actually are able to do–neither will I. There are certain commonalities between us.
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and wisdom must include recognition of my limits, and then my choices can be made accordingly, by the grace of God and the wisdom provided.
Psalm 107 is a specific blessing to me today, and I am giving thanks for all of the great, unfathomable goodness of God!
O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

further on p. 36 “Prophets have prophetic giftings that differ according to the grace given to them (by the Holy Spirit – there are 9 giftings). It is up to God to shape your prophetic ministry. In other words, it is not your job to decide how to flow, how to operate in your gifting. It is your job to yield to the Spirit and let Him flow through you as He Wills. Trying to be like some other prophet you admire is not God’s plan, and could lead you away from His will into performance-based ministry at best or into deception at worst.
Think about it for a minute. What if David had tried to be another Moses? What if Elijah had tried to be another Deborah? What if John the Baptist had tried to be another Elisha? They would not have fulfilled their prophetic destinies. Each of these prophets had a unique call of God on his or her life even though at times, their ministries displayed some similar characteristics.
Fundamentally, prophetic ministry produces reformers, deliverers, intercessors, watchmen, forerunners, singers, musicians, writers, preachers, artists and others who proclaim the Will of The Lord.”
“Prophecy is foremost a revelation gift. The purpose of prophecy is to speak out the Heart, Mind, and Will of God, bringing edification, exhortation and comfort to the Body of Christ. Within that larger picture are numerous distinctions of how the gift operates. I share this, because our Body needs many members with unique giftings. We are not all alike, nor are we all at the same level of maturity and knowledge base. We are equipped as The Lord Wills us through the Holy Spirit who doles out the gifting as He deems appropriate and for the timing and purpose at hand.
Have faith brothers and sisters that God can work all things for our good (Romans 8:28). Rest in His Promises that He will never leave us, nor foresake us. He is aware of our needs better than we are and our only job is to lean into Him at every turn and commit your ways unto Him and He Will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:6)

Sure hope you’ll get to see this. I don’t customarily go back to previous days’ postings unless I’m looking for something specific. Happened to see your post here and I’m so glad I did.
Often for me, I pray, journal, spend time with God. I ask Him to use me to help others. Anything in our lives from adversity to knowledge to wisdom to joy… I ask God to make my life meaningful in service to Him. I receive inclinations… pushes to my Spirit within me… to post certain things I read or learn or that come to mind. I feel as though they are messages that God wants me to speak aloud.
I have learned to not contest God’s promptings and have realized over time that these messages may or may not always be for me exclusively… they may be for someone else who needs to hear them.
I am so blessed that you are comforted, friend. I want to be a great comfort, but please understand… it is God Who speaks through me using the Holy Spirit and not of my own right or might. It is such a privilege to worship God in this way and I hope you, too, will yield to the Lord in His promptings. He loves you so very much.

Before he left Pandora on earth, Zeus handed her a beautiful box saying, “This is my own special gift to you. Don’t ever open it.” As Zeus anticipated, Pandora’s curiosity got the best of her, and she opened the box, ending earthly paradise. From the small chest flew troubles and woes—sorrow, disease, vice, violence, greed, madness, old age, death—to plague humankind forever. However, Zeus did not realize that hope had been secretly added to the box by Promethesus. When Pandora opened the box and released trouble and woe into the world, hope was there to help people survive.
Pandora was created by French painter Odilon Redon, who lived at the same time as the impressionist artists. While they painted the life they saw around them—the French countryside, the bustle of Paris—Redon painted from his imagination. He suffered a lonely childhood, shut away as an invalid much of the time. He once wrote to a friend, “The events that left their mark on me happened in days gone by, in my head.” He was known as a mystic and a dreamer who was interested in exploring “a reality that is felt.” That is shown here by his concentration on Pandora’s fascination with the gift prior to her opening it. Her attention is fixed on the gift box. In other paintings of the same subject, the consequences of her curiosity are more often portrayed whereas in Redon’s version, Pandora is surrounded by golden shapes, which symbolize an earthly paradise before the box was opened.

Background
According to Greek mythology, in the beginning the earth was free from toil and misery. The land was covered with flowers and the rivers flowed with milk and honey. Earth was inhabited only by men, who had been created by Prometheus. He made them of clay and modeled them after the gods, which angered Zeus, the king of the gods. When Prometheus offended Zeus again by stealing fire from heaven to give to man, Zeus exacted revenge. He ordered Hephaestus, the god of the forge, to create Pandora, the first woman. The gods gave her many traits including beauty, curiosity, charm, and cleverness. Hence her name “Pandora,” meaning “all gifted” or, alternately, “a gift to all.”
