Regarding Tim Walz. Recall the scene in the Wizard of Oz where the tornado takes the farmhouse with Dorothy in it and crashes on the Wicked Witch of the East smack dab in the Land of Oz? That was a big scene and part of the Cast were little people (midgets) who were the Munchkins. That group marched around in the movie singing “We are the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild, etc., etc. Well think of that tune and apply it to Ol’ Tim when he came out on stage at the announcement of his VP selection with arms waving, hands shaking and legs kicking , etc. He could be singing that tune and it would be a perfect fit. To me, Walz will forever be a Lollipop Guild member.
Musk seems to resonate
I think he hearkens back to the time when the US was becoming the dominant power, when Edison was creating amazing inventions, the Wright brothers were doing the impossible, when everybody knew that the future was going to be exciting. Back then, people expected to become more well-off.
These days, with factories shuttered, when optimism is replaced with merely a determination to survive, when the population of the US is being systematically replaced with a foreign culture, who aspire to living as they did in their original country, and nothing more, the US citizen sees Musk as the previous golden age. He offers the excitement of new frontiers (not that I would go to Mars!), and a magical future.
My only question is are there enough Americans left in their own country?
We have taken America for granted, which is why we find ourselves in the current predicament. Musk is definitely my favorite African American immigrant. My daughter in law, who was a legal Ukrainian immigrant more than 2 decades ago (before meeting my son), totally gets it as do her parents and siblings. There are a massive number of such immigrants who are on board, far more passionately than many of us that have been here for multiple generations. There is no one more devoted to their faith than a new convert…

I agree. There is a VAST difference between those who are drawn here out of an appreciation for the Dream, and opportunities FOR THOSE WHO WORK FOR IT, as LEGAL immigrants, aa opposed to those driven, herded and recruited to illegally invade our country.

Somewhat unrelated… but I am interested in the idea that Musk has been pumping testosterone and other body hacking therapy that has changed him both physically and mentally.
I don’t know if this is true, but in watching videos of his younger years it certainly would appear to be the case.
Two points that Elon made:

When he told the audience that he attended college in Pennsylvania, reminded me that so did President Trump and that JD Vance’s roots are in the heart of Appalachian territory, thinking about the abuse the people of Appalachia are undergoing by the orcs of our government (the Mayorkas and their kin) that I do believe the Ent’s of our nation are now fully awake and the scene where those Ent’s, the roots of the rights of the individuals, are about to bring down that tower of Sauron that houses those who think they are better, smarter and wiser than those not living in their fancy tower, came to mind.
Can feel the tide shifting, in favor of making America great again.

To my knowledge, no president has ever been successful at reducing the size of government, with the possible exception of Calvin Coolidge, who caused the roaring 20s. We so desperately need to eviscerate huge chunks of government, entire agencies and departments. I pray Elon and the Trump team have a vision to do just that, as merely reducing the speed of government growth won’t solve the problem. Things like baseline budgeting need to be immediately stopped.
What is Musk REALLY up to? He is exceptionally vulnerable to government pressure. Government subsidies underly his solar electricity & car businesses. Government funds and approvals are essential for SpaceX. X / Twitter is vulnerable in other ways. The exceptionally smart guys behind lawfare and the weaponization of government KNOW these–and almost certainly more–vulnerabilities, and how to use the vulnerabilities to make Musk do their bidding. Finally, Musk knows all of this.
My doubts about Musk would be eased if $1+ billion of his net worth is invested in assets other than Tesla, X, SpaceX … One can live well on the investment income from $1 billion.
We are soon going to find out. The same needs to be asked of Theil/Vance.

Departments: Day One: Eliminate 50% with 1 year ramp down schedule. Must include Dept of Education, DHS, EPA, FDA
Pages of Federal Laws, Regulations and Policies: 50% cut by end of Year One. 10% per year for 5 years. NO EXCEPTION RULE: Any new law, regulation or policy requires removal of equal amount.
NO SILOS – require integration at all levels
