God calls us to serve others.

I mentioned before that militarily time is on our side because Hamas is losing its assets and people, but also they can’t train new recruits while new generations are joining the IDF regularly. In all the darkness one must locate the positives too. The new generation that was called “The Tik Tok generation” is proving itself to be better than all previous generations. I’m not spending much time on reporting it but there are hundreds of heroic stories emerging from our soldiers in Gaza. Many gave their lives to save the lives of others, many got wounded and came back to fight, it’s common.

This is an amazing generation! Until 10/7 the front line of the confrontations with terrorists was mainly done by the Border Police which is over Jerusalem and the West Bank (Judea and Samaria). You probably didn’t know but there are daily confrontations for years.
What I’m saying is that the number one most popular recruit option was The Border Police. This generation wants to contribute.
Now after 10/7, the most contributing (arguably) are the Combat Engineers who enter the tunnels and explode them and the Armored Corps
(those branches happen to also be the most dangerous), so now the number one most wanted recruit option is Combat Engineers and number two is Armored Corps. This generation wants to be on the front regardless of the danger. We are blessed with a great generation!
Following is the latest swearing ceremony of the Armored Corps. Note: If you didn’t know military is mandatory (Man from 18 years old to about 21 and women 18-20).

PILOTS vs MECHANICS

American businessman who co-founded Amway, dies at 92

Biography: Richard DeVos was an American businessman who co-founded the multi-level marketing company Amway (now known as Alticor) with Jay Van Andel in 1959. The company sold cleaning products and later expanded to distribute goods worldwide.

DeVos was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Dutch American parents who worked with electrical equipment. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II prior to entering into business.

He became very wealthy from Amway, although the company has been criticized as a pyramid scheme and even banned from India due to their business practices. In 2012, Forbes said he was the 60th richest person in the United States with an estimated net worth of $5.1 billion.

In 1970, DeVos and his wife Helen started a foundation that supported education, healthcare, the arts and conservative political causes. DeVos donated large sums of money to the Republican Party over the years.

He served for a period as the finance chairman for the Republican National Committee. DeVos was also close friends with former President Gerald Ford and his wife Betty Ford and, when Ford died, DeVos was an honorary pallbearer at his funeral.

In 1991, DeVos bought the Orlando Magic NBA team in 1991 for $85 million. He had previously tried to get a Major League Baseball team in Orlando but failed to do so.

After being denied a transplant in the United States as he was deemed too old and unhealthy, DeVos went to the United Kingdom for a heart transplant in 1997. He wrote about this experience in his book “Hope From My Heart” (1997).

It will wear well and will be remembered long after the prism of politeness or the complexion of courtesy has faded away.” Though an article in Psychology Today cites research showing that “being kind is good for one’s physical and mental health,” one wonders whether it is a valued currency in today’s social economy. 

In addition to pursuing moral and right living, in today’s proverb, King Solomon says the pursuit of kindness is another essential in life. Kindness is defined as “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.”

How would you grade yourself on being kind? Do you bother to smile at the grocery store checker, even though you are disturbed by the prices you are paying? What words did you speak to the person who held a door open for you? Or did you perhaps hold open the door for another? Are you kind only to those who are special in your life or those who can benefit you? Have you helped an overworked mother of toddlers or taken a plate of cookies to an elderly shut-in neighbor? Kindness can cost you…time, energy, effort, money. 

Theologian John Piper says, “Christian kindness is not merely an external change of manners; it is an internal change of heart… Christian kindness is tenderhearted. If the heart is hard on the inside and the manners are meek and polite and helpful on the outside, it is not Christian kindness.”

Kindness is among the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is He who gives you the power to be kind even when you don’t feel like it.

 Consider how kind God has been to you, then go about reflecting that godly kindness to others. It will have its reward… for you and for the one you bless by being kind.

Pray for believers across America to show kindness to others during this tumultuous election season.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Wondered if anyone else would appreciate a post dedicated to sharing favorite fall recipes.
I was looking at my recipe for pear preserves that was in my last letter from my grandma that passed at 86 and wondered.
I’m 69 now but it was the best I’d ever found.

Peel and core a sack or two of pears fresh from the tree and cut them into slices. You want to pick them when they are just a bit green and the flesh is still firm and crunchy.

For every 2 quarts of sliced pears cover with one pound of sugar. (2 cups) Cover and let the pot stand overnight. At least 8 hours. 12 is better. You should come back to a pot of pear slices floating in the melted sugar and natural juices of the pears.

On slow heat cover and simmer the pears until they are almost translucent – stirring often so that they don’t stick on the bottom and burn.

Once cooked remove the pears from the syrup and set aside. Allow the syrup to simmer until it is reduced almost by half.

Return the pears to the syrup and bring back up to a slow boil. Spoon the fruits out into hot sterile canning jars using a slotted spoon. Once the jars are packed full with the pears top with the syrup to 1/2 inch head space. Process pints and quarts for 25 minutes in a boiling water bath.

There will be plenty of syrup left in the pot once the pears are spooned out. Ladle it into hot jars and process it along with the jars of preserves. This syrup will make the most amazing glaze for duck, goose and pork when slow roasted. Add some hot chilies and garlic and brush it over the meat in the last 15 minutes of roasting.

Don’t let Satan keep you in your past. If you stay in your past you can’t receive the present (gift).
The enemy will try to shake you with fear, condemnation, chaos, and stress. That’s why you need to stand on the Word of God!
God is going to do even greater things than what He did in former days.
The darkness is a foreshadowing of the enemies’ fall. It is not for you.
