President Donald Trump has a sit-down conversation with Theo Von at Trump’s country club in Bedminster, New Jersey to discuss reforming healthcare, border security, his friendship with Dana White and why he refrains from drinking and smoking.
Theo Von is a likeable young man who has casual conversations and a large podcast audience. The conversation with President Trump about addiction and the challenges around drugs and alcohol is very interesting and insightful. WATCH:

I am of a generation taught honor and respect. There are not huge numbers anymore, but all my elders are addressed as Mr. or Mrs. Officials and associates are addressed by their surnames. Only in very relaxed and friendly situations are not close friends or family addressed by first names. Under NO circumstances would I ever address DJT as anything but President Trump. He well earned the title. “I” was offended by the familiar use of “Donald”. One of the problems with today’s young people. Lack of respect all around, and especially lack of respect for their elders.
The boomer generation were raised properly, but boy did they blow it with their kids and their kids blew it with theirs. Generally speaking.
The “Donald” bugged me too…but at the same time, I loved how honest the conversation seemed. This interview could go along way in humanizing Trump for many of his critics and skeptics.
I understand your annoyance, but if he’d addressed him that way some of his target audience would have tuned out of the message. It is what it is, Trump needs to get back into the Whitehouse, before institutionally civility and respect can be brought back, once more, into people’s daily lives.
1,000% agree, TrumpPatriot
I was also very put off by Theo’s inappropriate dress – like he’s ready for a sandwich and a beer with friends instead of meeting with the President of the United States. A sports jacket over jeans and a tee shirt doesn’t cut it. I know that PDJT is a very polite and tolerant man with a wide range of people. He would never criticize unless he is first criticized for his clothing choice.
A large majority of todays children (IMHO that age group now lasts into the low 30’s) show serious disrespect for their seniors and especially to adults who hold high position and have earned that position righteously. Appropriately dressing up is a way of showing respect for an honorable guest OR host.
Simple test – look how President Trump is dressed. I’ve rarely ever seen him dressed otherwise when he sits down for interviews. A mature and aware host would have taken note of that long beforehand and dressed in an equivalent manner.
(End of rant; my age is showing….)
Theo looked much nicer than he usually does.
I thought it was a very interesting and down to earth interview that I think will help our President with the younger vote.
However, compare the wardrobe of Theo with Adin Ross who interviewed President Trump awhile back. Two different sets of followers I believe. Adin wore a suit and tie out of respect.
Yes. Theo Von is 20 years older than Adin Ross (and IMHO ought to have a better awareness of appropriate social manners including dress). I have no insight into the age ranges and interests of their respective sets of followers mostly because I had never before heard of either man until their interviews of President Trump.
How one dresses up dictates how respectful one is! When I go to church, I try to show honor to those on high! I’m in my Sunday best. When I was in Freemasonry, I was an officer dressed in a tux! Today I’m no longer active and my tux doesn’t fit anymore! When I go to a Funeral Home, I show respect for the deceased, always. When I was kid I was always admonished to be seen and not heard! I guess those days are long gone with today’s generation. What’s kind of off-putting is wearing a suit and have a pair of sneakers on! BTW, my dress shoes are spit shined! I look to be of a dying breed, LOL!
The interview was apparently suggested by Barron Trump and organized by Dana White. I actually really like the part where he is listening to and taking Barron seriously as this is now at least 2 interviews that came about because they were suggested by Barron. President Trump is politically aware enough to know that these target audiences are important, and the target audiences don’t share your offense.
This is political gold for increasing the tent. It is something that no other republican (or democrat) would actually do.
I know there are concerns about RFK Jr, but coming together on important issues is terribly important. We need Theo’s audience to be introduced to the common sense issues we hold, and showing them that Donald Trump isn’t just a stiff, rich republican can’t be anything but good.
I think President Trump appreciated the laid back style of this interview – he looked really relaxed and comfortable.
Love this interview. More than politics with a real down to earth conversation. President Trump as great and his host was enjoyable.
Enjoyed this interview. Give us more, President Trump.
I imagine President Trump is not happy that Barron listens to this guy… This was very difficult to watch to the end. I kept waiting for the big highlight to happen.
Theo describes Kid Rock as a real “dirt serpent”.
Is that a term of endearment in the modern age?
Theo is a comedian known for being absurd and saying ridiculous things in a “straight” manner. It’s his schtick and it’s done ina lighthearted way.
Sort of. It means they have an edgy lifestyle, and they’re a bit trashy.
It’s also used as a term for hard-core mountain bikers and motocross racers.
