In answer to our animals meeting us in heaven, please let it be so- I wanted to introduce you to Otto.
Otto’s “parents” decided to move 4 years ago and “didn’t have room to take Otto with them.” They left taking a double cab truck, car, and fifth wheel!
They lived in the fifth wheel, but Otto had never been inside because “he sheds!” So, he lived underneath in a dog house – through 115 degrees, rain, mud, 20 degrees, 60 mph winds, everything.
We kept treats in our vehicle and gave him some when we were driving by. He always came out to greet us when he heard our car coming.
A few times I asked if he could stay with us when the weather was bad – No!
So when they asked if we would take him, we were thrilled! He’d had an untreated meniscus tear and limped quite badly, but anti-inflammatory meds soon helped.
We had him for a bit over 2 years when he woke me at 4am in terrible distress. Rushed him to animal ER, a horrible hour away, but there was nothing they could do. He’d had an unexplainable bleed in his intestines, but like almost all our fur children kissed us as he slipped away. 😢
I wanted to show you how happy he was from the first moment he lived here! Love you, Otto

Oh, Corny… sweet, sweet Otto. What a darling boy. His story breaks my heart. They are such faithful. The sweetest of souls to go through so much in their short lives yet find a way to trust again in their final years. I am grateful he had you to love him. I’m so sorry how he passed. That time was too short.
In Texas, my ex-husband and I had a small home in San Antonio. The next-door neighbors were awful. Run down house, gang banging kids. Their fence had fallen down, and they had a black Chow in the back yard, chained up, with her collar underneath her little arm pit. It was bloodied where it had rubbed her in her struggle. She never had food or water in South Texas heat, and we would water our lawn and give her water. She would lick the fence trying to get it. Then we started sneaking back there to give her cat food… just anything to nourish her.
I convinced my husband to go over there and ask them for the dog. They surprisingly agreed, and “Blackie” came to live with us. Only one time did she act out of hand towards the kitties, and she immediately obeyed after being corrected instantly that she was not to go after the cats.
She was a very good dog and she was soooo very happy. Night and day personality change between her utter depression and isolation to freedom and goofdom. She had the wiggliest bottom and loved to play. Amazing the difference a good dinner, a warm bath, and a soothing snuggle will do.

We went to Nogales AZ today ( right on the phoney border) to drop off “stuff” for the animal shelter there. They are dirt poor. 😔
The shelter closer to us is in a fairly wealthy retirement community. They do a fabulous job. The place is like Mar a Lago for dogs and kitties. They have 800 volunteers!
It’s kind of a status symbol to volunteer there.
But, the poor babies in Nogales live an entirely different life. Many are from Mexico, having been abandoned. The people who work there couldn’t be more helpful.
But, every time we leave, I so wish I could do more to help those fur babies in outdoor kennels – all every bit as special as mine or those in wealthier shelters. So wish I could fix it. ❤️

We are made partakers of the Divine nature through the promises; then we have to “manipulate” the Divine nature in our human nature by habits, and the first habit to form is the habit of realizing the provision God has made. “Oh, I can’t afford it,” we say – one of the worst lies is tucked up in that phrase. It is ungovernably bad taste to talk about money in the natural domain, and so it is spiritually, and yet we talk as if our Heavenly Father had cut us off with a shilling! We think it a sign of real modesty to say at the end of a day – “Oh, well, I have just got through, but it has been a severe tussle.” And all the Almighty God is ours in the Lord Jesus! And He will tax the last grain of sand and the remotest star to bless us if we will obey Him. What does it matter if external circumstances are hard? Why should they not be! If we give way to self-pity and indulge in the luxury of misery, we banish God’s riches from our own lives and hinder others from entering into His provision. No sin is worse than the sin of self-pity, because it obliterates God and puts self-interest upon the throne. It opens our mouths to spit out murmurings and our lives become craving spiritual sponges, there is nothing lovely or generous about them.
When God is beginning to be satisfied with us He will impoverish everything in the nature of fictitious wealth, until we learn that all our fresh springs are in Him. If the majesty and grace and power of God are not being manifested in us (not to our consciousness), God holds us responsible. “God is able to make all grace abound,” then learn to lavish the grace of God on others. Be stamped with God’s nature, and His blessing will come through you all the time.

A social media trend called “influencing“ has rapidly developed over the last decade. Statistics say it is growing in importance and the projected number of influencers in 2023 is 4.89 billion, a 6.5 percent increase over just a year ago. Influencers endeavor to develop a reputation for having special knowledge in particular areas.
Instagram and other media influencers employ targeted marketing of everything from personal grooming aids and wardrobe enhancers to plastic surgeries and the best truck tires. Those who follow the influencers are eager to get in on the popularity of their favorites.
His popularity with the crowds was one reason many people attached themselves to Jesus. Others saw His power to heal the sick and cast out demons and followed Him for that reason.
Some were engaged by the bold way Jesus dealt with the religious leaders of the day. Was it power, popularity, or personal courage that attracted Judas to Jesus?
Whatever his personal agenda was, Judas became one of the twelve men who were constantly with the Lord. The disciples even entrusted Judas with handling the group’s money.
Today’s verse occurs in the Upper Room, where Jesus and His disciples were celebrating Passover. The words of Jesus come immediately after Judas leaves the group to carry out his plan of betrayal later that evening in the garden. “Now,” Jesus said, “is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.”
People today may be attracted to Jesus for their own reasons: He was a great teacher; He was a healer; He had courage in the face of adversity. However, acknowledging one’s own sinfulness and need for a Savior is the most important reason to be attracted to Him!
Having come to Him in faith, believing He alone is the Solution to the issue of sin, sustained attraction occurs by internalizing His Word, knowing His love and tender care, and desiring to serve and honor Him.
In the United States, where the flaunting of sin continues to increase, be an influencer for Christ in your own sphere. Pray that the message of the Cross, where Jesus was truly glorified, would penetrate this nation, beginning in the highest places of power.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

-It grew and grew below the tail bone.
Was lucky having had quite a thick auburn mane.

and very few good shorts & a couple pixies) I have been cutting my own hair for years. When it was real long trimming was a breeze.
Well, some kiddos do cut their own hair, like my grandson did.
Happened few years back, but my (then five y/0) GS cut his (then two y/o) sister’s hair.

Trimmed my own bangs when I was about 11 or 12 and it ended up looking like that only messier. Dad called me the Bald Iggle for months.

It wasn’t my bad time I had to worry about it was my uncle’s, the licensed beautician. He sheared my curly hair to about 3/4 of an inch all over the day before 8th grade picture day. He’d had a fight with my aunt just before coming over. Lol, I had a short afro 10 years before it was a thing. I wanted to hide forever.

A bit of a busy morning. I contracted a company to take down two trees. The Chinese elm near the NW corner of my house and the dead 80′ tall spruce tree off the south end of my new garage. I thought the price of $2,800 was a bit high but they came highly recommended.
They arrive at 08:00 and were out of here at 12:05. Both trees gone. The portions of the Chinese elm I wanted to cut up for firewood placed in the gravel along side the old garage where I wanted it. No ruts in the yard since they put down thick rubber mats for their equipment to run on and the small skid steer had rubber tracks. Every stick and chip picked up an taken with them.
Just outstanding and worth every penny!
Yesterday I had a guy from Leaf Filter come out to quote putting covers on my 4″ gutters. The best price he would give was $4,288.00 for my 158 linear feet of gutter, all at one story height. NO FRIGGEN WAY!
So I will be doing it myself. Already have done it with vinyl with screen mesh but the mesh is not fine enough to keep some stuff out so I will be researching do it yourself gutter guards and choose what looks best. The worst places are where the valleys in the roof drain. They get the heaviest flow and the most debris but at the same time those inside corners on the gutters are where two pieces meet and so the problem is they will collapse under the pressure of the debris. I’ve got a partial solution for that by putting the sheet metal corner guards in, but it is at best just a partial solution. I’ll just work the problem.
Oops! 5″ gutters not 4″.
