Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

MORNING
As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. I Pet. 1:15
Ye know how we exhorted … and charged every one of you, … that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. I Thess. 2:11, 12
Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. I Pet. 2:9
Ye were sometime darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Eph. 5:8-11
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. Phil. 1:11
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 5:16
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Cor. 10:31
EVENING
Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. Isa. 45:11
A new heart … will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them. Ezek. 36:26, 27, 37
If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matt. 18:19, 20
Have faith in God. Verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:22, 23

~Dimitri Bortnyansky ~
Such a lovely soundtrack to God smiteing His enemies. I like it!!
An incredible composer, Kenji. I discovered him this past year.
But it is the choir, which is the most beautiful I have ever heard. Those bass voices as no others. I am transported when I listen to this one. Upwards, away for a glorious little while towards the heavens, A welcome spiritual respite from this world and the evil which has devoured it.
I am so glad you listened. More tomorrow😌🕊
Beautiful
Thank you
Most welcome, lolli 🤗

DAY #. 6 – MIDDAY PRAYER
Psalm 91. The most powerful prayer from the Bible. Pray it seven times. God’s protection, healing.
As a near sighted man with astigmatism, even if my view of the sky isn’t quite as bad as Vincent’s, I’ve never seen beauty in the stars.
Pictures of the stars are wonderful, especially if I bring my eyes really close. Though too many pictures are colorized.
My vision is off, too, Jim. But when I look up and see them…some nights fuller than others…I concentrate on how vast is God’s creation, only a small part do we see. And I am then acutely aware of how incalculably small I am in the whole of it. And that is what seeing the stars that I can make out does to me 😊
So true, Betsy.
I am no mathematician and have no science background but I did enjoy reading a couple of Dr.Hugh Ross’s books.. ‘The Improbable Planet’ and a slightly more difficult one, ‘The Creator and the Cosmos. Website: ‘Reasons to Believe’.
Thank you for those suggestions, jb 👍🏻 I always remember Carl Sagan, as I’m sure you do. Mention his name today to generations younger than I am, all I’d get would be blank stares.
Yes, I do remember him, Betsy, I liked him. I remember he said once, describing human life, “we are starstuff”
I thought that was such a wonderful description.
I hope the people in the path of Hurricane Hillary are taking it seriously, and preparing for it.
Hopefully most people in that area are prepared for an earthquake. (They should be!) And last winter’s storms taught them what they needed to do, to prepare for flooding.
We’re in northern Nevada and the county has already posted sandbag locations!
Just got off the phone with my dear friend recently retired Fire Captain. Career firefighter and paramedic.
They are NOT TAKING it seriously. They haven’t experienced anything like this since 1939.
They’re thinking “heavy rains”.
Praying for them. Yes, it’s Southern California – but they are still God’s people, too. This could be catastrophic.
Praying. Hard.

This is The Queen Mary Harp which is on display in the Scottish National Museum in Edinburgh.
Dating from the 15th century, it is reputedly the oldest Celtic harp (clarsach) in existence.
This sublime Harp Concerto from Reinhold Gliere Something for a Saturday afternoon…with a cup of coffee of course.
Lovely, Bet !!! Thanks !!! ❤️
Wasn’t it just been wonderful, sis? Glad you liked! 😘
Wonderful music; expertly played….
Thanks Betsy!
You’re welcome, GB. She is so gifted💕
Truth!!!
Hadrian’s Wall in Northern England.
A colleague and friend of Chris’s who was born in England went back for a visit a few years ago. As a memento, he brought back a small piece of this wall for us. We didn’t ask if he found it fallen away from the structure. We didn’t want to know. Because it is illegal to take any part of or deface a Heritage site, which this wall is. He’s lucky he wasn’t arrested.
No good doing anything with the tiny piece except
what my expert woodworking did. He made a small shadow box for it and it sits in our bookcase.
Magnificent!!!!
These are the sweet little robins I grew used to in Britain. When I returned to Texas, I’d found I’d forgotten how big they were here.
Still miss these precious feathered friends…especially at Christmas.
Something gentle…
John Field Nocturne 1 in E Flat Major
Throughout my entire life every spring the robins would arrive, build their nests and raise their young. Then they would move on.
Over the past 10 years or so the numbers of robins went down drastically. It has now been 2 years since I have seen a robin.
I really miss the robins.
Heartbreaking, patty. Harbingers of Spring we used to call them.
These 5G towers going up everywhere are doing a lot of damage to wildlife. I wonder if that might have anything to do with your robins vanishing…
At any rate I share your sorrow. They are lovely little birds 💔
Harbingers of spring. That’s the perfect way of putting it, Betsy!
An appellation I learned in Britain. I love it as well. There is something so poetic about the language there.
Don’t know where you are Patty, but I’m in north central Maryland. We have noticed this decline over the past 10 years; in the most recent 5 years there have been a few years we never saw one robin. Plenty of other “backyard” birds, but no explanations for the dearth of robins from the local wildlife “experts”….
I’m in central valley of CA, GB. I’m sure sorry to hear it’s not just a local problem.
I missed your comment yesterday on my horse posts. You are right. Dogs, cats and horses are different. Dogs and cats are predators and view the world that way. Horses are the prey and they view the world as potentially hostile.
Dogs and cats are very social. Horses can be very social but they have to warm up to you and learn to trust you first. Dogs and horses are relatively equal in intelligence, it’s just how they view the world that makes them so different.
Thanks Patty! That makes perfect sense. I do understand why being super-patient and gentle around a new horse is so important… if they get frightened and kick you it could be fatal! Or if they run in fright they could stumble and break legs…
No matter how it was found. It puzzle pieces between your heart and soul. That gives this stone wall, and it’s protection, miles of extension…across an ocean. Faith and belief makes this fragment a piece of your armor.
P.S. – will this stone fit an ordinary slingshot in case the need arises? Have you a good throwing arm? :p
And…old world craftsmanship and ingenuity, just like the harp, leaves me fascinated to no end. I have a Peter Wright 130# anvil that longs to ring.
Oh whoa a lovely thought, Error💕 And what an awesome suggestion! The day might come. One never knows.
As for my throwing arm, it still has quite a bit of power. Hubs can make a slingshot, so there are two possibilities right there😂👍🏻
I’m hearing your anvil right now, my friend…what a beautiful sound.
(And yes! All those walls, cathedrals, craftsmanship astounds and awes me as well. So much we take for granted until we make ourselves stop and contemplate what could be done so perfectly and well long ago. We’ve lost the artistry and talent…and that’s a terrible shame.)
Today was a first.
While grocery shopping today, stocking up since the weather is predicting we are going to be inundated with rains from the hurricane Hilary as it makes its way into Nevada, in three separate aisles (so different people) there were adults with either their children and/or grandchildren and the kids had their smart phones out set on the calculator function and were actively running a tally of the cost of items the adults were putting into their grocery carts,
and in one case overheard the child told the parent (could have been a grandparent) to put that item back because it was going to put them over their budget because they still had to get other things.
In all my years, and am not a spring chicken, have never once seen the child tell the adult to put something back onto the shelf – it has always been the parent doing the putting back!
For once in a long while I’ve got a shocked face, Bessie. Whoa!!
Prayers for your safety and for all those in in the way of the encroaching hurricane. We’ll keep watch through rah and others.
But please keep posting so we’ll know you are safe and well.🙏🏻🕊
I’ll be fine; in our area it’s a matter of stocking up since the majority of our produce and other items must be trucked in from California; it’s a habit I learned from mom – every time severe storms were predicted she would make a beeline to the grocery store and it’s a habit I’ve embraced.
It’s the people in the mountain areas, such as in Inyo county (California) that I’ve noticed on Facebook first responders putting up posts to tell people to prepare. I’ve never seen anything from Inyo so think the Vegas and Reno first responders were sharing that feed.
A lot of the higher roads are just now opening due to heavy snows finally being cleared and there were more rock slides than usual, so with summer campers and hikers out and about, with the ground still saturated from the snow melts I think the first responders are right to be concerned, it’s nice to see them going the extra mile to make people aware.
I was just shocked to see for the first time in my life children working their calculators to keep the grocery shopping on budget.
Thank you.

Well, that will put a smile on your face!

Do you ever contemplate all of creation is from God? Endless thoughts that magic mushrooms cannot untwist, or LSD, toad venom.
I got a split second glimpse of the vastness of our lord and it was as if floating in space and seeing and feeling its eternity.
You cannot separate demons from creation, and they are used by God to perfect us.
Remember that verse “count it all joy” why? Because in that way of thinking you see Gods hand. You cannot see it if you look at misery as this world does. And it’s our nature from birth to overcome.
I must give angels their due also. They are the servants that give without any thought except to please our Lord and savior. A choice not a slave but a bond servant.
We think demonic activity is without reason. They are the parasite that causes you to wash. The filth that makes you uncomfortable. Don’t get comfortable with misery move on, praise God for opportunities.
