Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen β

The Robins are gone. Having raised their chicks they have moved on the greener pastures apparently. I suspect that feeding got poor when the ground got so hard. But all the other birds are still around. The young wood peckers of all 4 species that frequent my are to be seen at my seed blocks along with their parents. Plus a beautiful yellow finch and a red breasted grossbeak that is a transient. Sometimes we have had a Baltimore Oriol pass through on its way to somewhere, but none see so far this year.

One just knows when one is looking at the sea pictures of Winslow Homer who the artist was. It can be no other. Everything you’ve posted today?
Atmospheric. Certainly stirs the emotions.
Thanks Molon π Love the schooner in the background of Breezing Up. That design flourished in New England. Some of the fastest Age Of Sail ships came from there.
The old 30βs movie CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS..has some sailing scenes of those Schooners I never get tired of watching ..ππ

Me either. Read every Hornblower novel when I was a kid. I could free hand draw a pretty good rendition of the USS Constitution. At age 14 in Okla. I learned a lot about sail plans and rigging . . . π

Hi Garrison
I lived on the coast of New England for thirty years .
Am very familiar with Boston harbor and all the small islands off the coast.
Glad Iβm not there now but I loved the salty air.
I also worked in many clubs and resteraunts and homes right on the water
Something about being on the water.
I worked on the tall ships a few times too
Love the ocean
Iβm glad you like the pics
Look forward to your music everyday

They’re beautiful, Mo. Fog Warning reminds me of ocean salmon fishing off of Crescent City, CA. The marine layer was never far off, a couple times we we in the thick of it. My uncle was an excellent seaman and got us into port every time.

Gary Larson – The Far Side
Tickles my twisted sense of humor.
As well as the portfolio-sized book of all Norman Rockwell’s works we purchased and which we found at Half Priced Books on a bottom shelf in a dark corner, ERROR, we also discovered an anthology of all of Gary Larsen’s. This was during his hiatus, right before he returned to shower us with more laughter.
Admittedly I’d say one has to have a particular type of sense of humour for a lot of his cartoons.
Fortunately that’s EXACTLY the type I have!! If I need a laugh, his is the book I open.
This one tickled me. The expressions on the chickens’ faces?
LOLOLOLOL!!!! ππππ»
“Admittedly Iβd say one has to have a particular type of sense of humour for a lot of his cartoons.”
True, so true! I must have born with it because I have no memory of acquiring it along the way.
Peter Sellers and the Pink Panther movies also trigger my twist.
Hahaha!!! Remember that well.
One of the finest things that the Brits did superbly…until they became censorious and ideological… was comedy in all its forms. So funny I made myself sick laughing.
They were the masters of innuendo and the politically incorrect. No one did comedy as they did once upon a time…and I miss it dreadfully.
Who else could pull off Monty Python and Benny Hill type humor but the brits?
I can’t tell you how true this is! Perfectly described.

Wow, good morning Magic.
Good Morning from Gulfo de Mexico. One beautiful day!
https://youtube.com/shorts/QZaHE4L7HfA?feature=share
So we got the heavy rain yesterday and last night. I had my yard mowed and standing tall. This morning when I took the dogs out I saw two limbs down in my front yard. They were dead limbs about 1 1/4″ in diameter at their thickest part that waited until the yard looked good to decide to fall. It pissed me off so much that still in my sleepers and slippers I went and dragged them to the fire pit and got out my nippers and cut them up and put them in the fire pit. I then walked out and policed up the small branches. Yard now looks great again.
Rob, I get your frustration. After all your efforts a few days back!
on a comical related note, your story reminds me of when I go out and pick up all the dog poopies (3 dogs), then come in, shoes off, wash up, turn around, and someoneβs out there doing their business before I even sit down!!
Constantly getting huge, screen covering (desktop) pop-up ads purporting to be security warnings (McAfee the most often) stating this site is dangerous, infected, not safe being the most often used words and the only way to remove the blockage is to leave the site and return.
All with the appearance of trying to scare a person away from this site.
The only other site this happens on is Rantingly.
Ran a full Avast scan = nothing. Monday, I found that Sunday’s Open Thread was displaying large black shapes that definitely didn’t belong there. Re: McAfee “warnings”. If you are not a subscriber and are getting “McAfee” or “Norton” email warnings they may be “phishing” attempts to install malware. I got one the other day that looked like a UPS delivery notice. It was intercepted by Avast as being malware. Be careful.
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday when I tried to get on Rantingly. A restart and scan with my PC Optimizer fixed that problem.
Interesting…suddenly on my Kindle I’m getting “YOU’VE WON….” pop up notices from ATT and Google….
On this site only.
I run CTH on Brave and have no ads on either my PC or Android phone. I also use AVG security and VPN.
So far no issues on this site , Gab or Truth Social.
I’m getting those “You’ve won…” too every time I access the open thread; when it’s the Presidential daily thread its the McAfee pop-up.
I’ve run a few scans, and cleared cookies, as Garrison recommended, but the pop-ups on CTH, and Rantingly, continue; will figure it out, hoping it’s simply some new phishing outfit that Malwarebytes hasn’t gotten wind of yet in the meantime am assuming it’s some new attempt to harass people who visit the Treehouse site in hopes of discouraging future visits.

I found this on another site, posted by a lovely lady from Nigeria…and I felt compelled to reprint it for our Treehouse family.
It is long, but I very much felt compelled to do soπ
After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie.
She said, “I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.”
The other woman my wife wanted me to visit was my mother who had been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my 3 children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.
That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.
“What’s wrong, are you well?” she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.
“I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,” I responded. “Just the two of us.”
She thought about it for a moment, and then said,”I would like that very much.”
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up, I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an Angel’s.
“I told my friends that I was going out with my son, and they were impressed, ” she said as she got into the car. “They can’t wait to hear about our meeting.”
We went into the restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Halfway through the entrees, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.
“It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,” she said. “Then it’s time that you relax and let me return the
favor,” I responded.
During the dinner we had an agreeable conversation – -nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other’s life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, “I’ll go out with you again , but only if you let me invite you.” I agreed.
“How was your dinner date?” asked my wife when I got home.
“Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,” I answered.
A few days later my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have time to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place where mother and I dined.
An attached note said: “I paid this bill in advance. I wasn’t sure I could be there, but nevertheless I paid for two plates – one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant to me.”
“I love you, son.”
At that moment I understood the importance of saying in time: “I love you,” and to give our loved ones the time they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family.
Give them the time they deserve because these things cannot be put off till “some other time.”
(I was barely able to type this story. Just managed to hold back the tears until I completed it. Blessed be everyone’s day and the days of those whom you loveππ»π)
(tears)
I soak up every ounce of time I can with Savannah. Having a mother who died when I was 9 years old and a father who passed when Savannah was just 15 months old – time is fleeting.
Picked up a few more pieces of her future family’s china set. Up to 122 pieces. I delight in the thought that someday she will be serving her family dinner and a piece of me will always be there with her. At 17 years old, she loves it and she appreciates it – but she won’t understand the extent of that appreciation until I am departed.
How much I love that girl.
I know the feeling you describe, dear friend.
While we love our children so much, there are simply moments when, suddenly, that love becomes so overpowering that they take your breath away. Like a bolt from the blue! When I’ve experienced it, I find myself wondering where on earth did THAT come from??
Of course that’s a rhetorical question, because I know….ππ»π
What a gift you are giving her, JWoo. And I’m referring only in small part to the china. I am doing the same with my pill box collection for our 15 year old granddaughter…one day…
See above, Bet . . . π
gotta ask
did you get a big serving plate
and you have to get cups and saucers
its fun aint it J

i still have a full set of Mikasa dinner plates
with lots of this’s and thatziz

i will give them to one of my girls

I could only source ONE really large platter – roughly a 16″ oval. It was well over $80 plus shipping – placing the piece over $100.00 She has four 10 x 13 oval platters – so I think I might pass on the 16″ one… plus a turkey would be such a heavy thing to place on a platter – I can’t imagine one would carve the bird on that thin China???
Four platters might seem like a lot, but I was merging sets. The goal was to have place settings for 12 + 1. I tried to order a few spare pieces. The set is very fragile. Lord knows what sourcing the pieces will be like in the future.
Not only did I get her the Noritake Savannah 2031 tea cups and saucers – I also got her a complimentary set of Noritake Poetry coffee and tea carafe with Poetry dessert plates. She has a tea and dessert set boxed totally separately in storage for afternoons when she invites guests over for a study or just a respite.
One box – of tea and dessert plates set
One box – of 4 place setting and serving – for small dinners (that way one doesn’t have to go dig into the big box)
HUGE box – the balance of the pieces
One box – of platters
I bet your Mikasa set is quite beautiful as well as the this’s and thatziz…
You have more than one daughter? I missed that info. I guess I’m fortunate to just have one – only one heir. How would I choose who gets what? Such a dangerous business.
My mom’s china went with her house when I sold it in ’08. Sadly, there was no one to pass it on to.
Garrison – that makes me so sad. I am so very sorry. One small set I purchased belonged to a family where no one wanted the father’s mother’s set. They were really sad about it – but I told them that their mother’s legacy would live on with my daughter and that she would take very good care of their mother’s china.

The Importance of Regional Allegiance and Territorial Loyalty For Elected MAGA Representatives In Implementing Economic Development and Job Creation Policies.
Economic Policy Advice For MAGA Local and State Elected Representatives Who Oppose the New World Order Crony Corporate Fascism.
Full article available at substack civildissolution.substack.com

Laurie Thomas Vass, Gabby Press (gabbypress.com).
Introduction:
In recent months, several youtube contributors have been traveling around the United States, taking videos of metro regions that are dying, economically.
Two prominent contributors are The World According to Briggs, and Mileage Mike. (The World According to Briggs https://www.youtube.com/@WorldAccordingToBriggs and Mileage Mike, https://www.youtube.com/@MileageMike485.).
The evidence of national economic collapse recorded in the videos tends to corroborate scholarly economic research, generally conducted under the topic category of βdeclining U. S. economic dynamism.β (Declining Business Dynamism in the U.S. High-Technology Sector, John Haltiwanger, Ian Hathaway, Javier Miranda, SSRN. 2014.).
The common economic characteristics of metro decline include empty downtowns, vacant buildings and shopping malls, ramshackle housing, homelessness, and high rates of joblessness, described in the videos as idle citizens wandering around, aimlessly, in the middle of the day.
Both sources of information tend to document that something is terribly wrong with economic policy, at both the federal and state/local level. Neither of the sources offer economic policy advice to MAGA elected representatives about what to do about the economic dysphoria in the United States.
Is there anyone out there to answer this…If all the J6 evidence had been destroyed …is there a case? Shouldn’t this alledged crime be unproveable?

This one is iconic. Mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time.
That is one beat up boat. No rudder. No masts. No power. Drifting. Surrounded by sharks.
It looks like there is a ship in the distance. Three, maybe four masts with full sail, heading somewhere else.
And there may even be a water spout. Distant, but closer than the ship.
Yes, terrifying is an apt description.

Fit perfectly.
Things changed when I met my Babe.
She liked canoeing but not like I did.
I remember when I first met her , we went camping.
Slept in a pup tent right smack on the ground at a campsite off the Kancamagus highway in NH.
We would get cleaned up in the Swift River in the am.
Did that for a few years but of course we had to get a tent with a floor.
Then I had kids and camping became a chore,
Funny how things change.

Loreena McKennitt- The Dark Night of the Soul
Lovely… β€οΈ
THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL
Upon a darkened night
the flame o love was burning in my breast
And by a lantern bright
I fled my house while all in quiet rest
Shrouded by the night
and by the secret star I quikly fled
The veil concealed my eyes
while all within lay quiet as the dead
Chorus:
Oh night though was my guide
oh night more loving than the rising sun
Oh night that joined the lover
to the beloved one
transforming each of them into the other
Upon that misty night
in secrecy, beyond such mortal sight
Without a guide or light
than that which burned so deeply in my heart
That fire t’was led me on
and shone more bright than of the midday sun
To where he waited still
it was a place where no one else could come
(Chorus)
Within my poinding heart
which kept itself entirely for him
He fell into his sleep
beneath the cedars all my love I gave
>From o’er the fortress walls
the wind would brush his hair against his brow
And with its smoothest hand
caressed my every sense it would allow
(Chorus)
I lost myself to him
and laid my face upon my lovers breast
And care and grief grew dim
as in the mornings mist became the light
There they dimmed amongst the lilies fair
there they dimmed amongst the lilies fair
there they dimmed amongst the lilies fair

Hi all. I have a prayer request for the man and friend that introduced me (and now many others) to “The Conservative Treehouse”. I worked with him for many years in the corrugated business where we made boxes and displays. I found out today he has 2 types of cancer and only days to live.
