Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The exhortation to “stir up the gift of God, the fire” was not an insinuation that Timothy was growing cold or weakening! That is what we call PROJECTION on the part of the one who wrote this commentary. Why is it the constant running theme of these writers, how much they grieve the Holy Spirit, and how undisciplined they are?
When one of us exhorts the others, to “stir up the fire, the gifts that God has given you,” why does it have to be taken as a criticism, or a suggestion that you’re failing? When the LORD told Joshua that he was going to bring the children of Israel into their inheritance, and said to him, Be strong and very courageous; it WAS NOT because Joshua was turning into a snowflake! It was simply what it was, an exhortation to be strong and very courageous!
That’s what Paul was doing, exhorting Timothy to kindle up the things which God had bestowed upon him!
I don’t know about issues with other articles, but what was brought up here had me look back at the letters to Timothy. Unless I missed it, I did not see anything that implied
“that the young disciple had allowed the “fire” to grow weak in his ministry.”
In fact, two chapters later in the same letter from which the subject verse of the article was taken, Paul asserts in 2 Timothy 3:10:
“But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance” and so forth.” Again, rather than seeing abundant evidence of rebukes, what does seem to be consistent is an exhortation to perseverance in his duties.
Exactly! That is the whole point, isn’t it? We are responsible to know the Scriptures and be led by His Holy Spirit, and manage our Lord’s affairs, as those with whom He will take account FIRST! We have to be perfect and accurate in our work; there can nothing be done ‘slip-shod.’ Howsoever we speak or share things, we have to use the discernment of the Spirit, and the brain that God has given us, to ensure that what we are giving to others is according to God’s word.
Acts 17:11 “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
Thank you JDV.
Excellent comment; certainly your view is the same as mine. Timothy was “youthful” and Paul was exhorting Timothy and giving him confidence in the immense task ahead of him – to deal with the multiple spiritual challenges waiting for him within the relatively new Church in Ephesus. I inferred that Paul perceived no weak faith in his younger protégé; rather that Timothy would face shrewd and sinful men who were trying to divide the Church and weaken its doctrine. Paul was simply arming Timothy for the battle…

Good morning dear friend. Just stepped outside to feed the feral who has been on his nightly rounds, but knows always his breakfast will be served on his return.💕
Breakfast is served . Good morning my dear friend. Pic from my table , It would make a mess if it fell off “accidentally “

“Superstar”. Karen Carpenter.
I used to think she was not cool. Karen, I am sorry. Beautiful voice.
Same. Boy were we wrong!
lindak: Carpenter did not have the “bad girl rock star” vibe, but, her voice and delivery live on. She didn’t need the salacious marketing of today’s fabricated and packaged singers.
Yup. Petula is one of my favorites.
sunnydaze: Ironically, today, “downtown” is definitely not where you want to be, unless you’re looking for trouble.
Platero y yo is a famous Spanish lyrical poem about the travels of a man and his beloved pet donkey. Even when translated into English, the poem itself is evocative, the story as told quite moving. Two composers Castelnuovo Tedesco and Sanez de la Maza composed guitar music to accompany the poems as they are read. Somewhere I have such a performance for guitar and English translation but my cursory search on the ‘Tube didn’t turn up anything. In my opinion the guitar music of Sanez de la Maza can easily be enjoyed when her played on its own. Alex Garrobe’ in this performance demonstrates great virtuosity in playing this music. Enjoy, Treeper friends.
Good morning, Garrison😘 He looked completely at peace playing this, almost as if were in some other world. He and his instrument as one. One might say transcendent. A lovely piece to start the day.
Good morning Bet! ❤️😘
Good morning, Bet. I have the music for both the Castelnuovo and Sanez intrepretations. Both are enjoyable to play (Segovia recorded the Castelnuovo on a Decca LP many years ago), although I somehow tend find the Sanez to be that much more “musical”.
Good morning Garrison!
Mornin’ Gramps! 🙂 So glad your daughter is home. 🙂

Morning, G!💕 Busy day but made sure I had time to drop by. It’s a “Bucca Day” with the grands and their mom for pizza ce soir. What don’t see them much anymore because they’re all involved with school, sports and jobs. Makes the times when they can all coordinate their schedules even more precious…making “mental cocktails” as fast as we can.
Hoping Miss V is recovering fast…and you!💜
Have a great day with the grands, Bet!
I’m feeling good enough for a workout. 😍 And Miss V has been going back to school.
Hoorah!!! All is well in the best of all possible worlds (compared to last week anyway)…(jazz hands!!)🤗

I am waiting for my state to come back and be worthy of praise.
I’m third generation, and they’re not going to kick ME out.
Me too. I just belong to the land here.
But as Lyle Lovett sings . . . “Texas want’s you anyway . . .”. 🙂
I have to look more closely at Texas. But, didn’t Mark Twain say that if he owned Texas and hell, he would rent out Texas and live in hell?
It is a cheap shot, I’ve never been there and I probably would really love it once I did visit, many do move there.
The Texas of Mark Twain’s day is not the same place today. Though I would agree with him today if he was talking about Austin.
The major Texas cities tend to be filled with cosmopolites, denizens from the coastal mega cities who lack even basic mechanical skills, can’t change a tire or drive a stick shift for instance. Many don’t even like or have cars and work hard to make us like where they came from (aka Austin). They were collectively astonished when, during hurricane Henry, rural Texans started showing up individually with bass boats and started rescuing people in Houston.
But take a short drive into the more rural areas and you’ll find yourself in another world. “Little Town Texas” has the kind of ambience most of us dream about. It’s what we think we’d move to if we were looking to move to Texas. These little towns are the kinds of places you’d want to shoot a modern version of “It’s A Wonderful Life”. And, besides, they have the best BBQ in the world.
Best BBQ?? Correct! And now I want some….😎
Did you say BBQ? Now that shifts things over a little.
😂!! Thought it might.
Very well said, Garrison! And that bbq pit is on the West side of my house. Now I’m thinking of buying a brisket. Will need to wait a couple of days to smoke it until my gut is fully recovered. 😁
Who knows?? It might be a cure!!
Oops: Hurricane Henry = Hurricane Harvey.
In the Texas of Twain’s day there was almost nothing between Brownsville and Houston. It was a wilderness of scrub oak, mesquite, and cactus, with a couple wagon trails across it.
Traversing it was a matter of moving from one source of fresh potable water to the next.
The very few small settlements were located where there was a source of water.
Wild horses, Buffalo, and wolf packs, still ranged free. As did a lot of desperados out for plunder.
And Comanches…

THE RELINQUISHED LIFE
“I am crucified with Christ.” Gal. ii. 20
No one is ever united with Jesus Christ until he is willing to relinquish not sin only, but his whole way of looking at things. To be born from above of the Spirit of God means that we must let go before we lay hold, and in the first stages it is the relinquishing of all pretense. What Our Lord wants us to present to Him is not goodness, nor honesty, nor endeavour, but real solid sin; that is all He can take from us. And what does He give in exchange for our sin? Real solid righteousness. But we must relinquish all pretense of being anything, all claim of being worthy of God’s consideration.
Then the Spirit of God will show us what further there is to relinquish. There will have to be the relinquishing of my claim to my right to myself in every phase. Am I willing to relinquish my hold on all I possess, my hold on my affections, and on everything, and to be identified with the death of Jesus Christ?
There is always a sharp painful disillusionment to go through before we do relinquish. When a man really sees himself as the Lord sees him, it is not the abominable sins of the flesh that shock him, but the awful nature of the pride of his own heart against Jesus Christ. When he sees himself in the light of the Lord, the shame and the horror and the desperate conviction come home.
If you are up against the question of relinquishing, go through the crisis, relinquish all, and God will make you fit for all that He requires of you.
Oswald Chambers
March 8th Devotional
It should be noted however, just to keep things in perspective; when we are summoned to give an account with our Master at His return, we will have to tell Him how much we have done with His things that He gave to us. One will say, Thy pound Lord hath gained ten pounds; and another will say, Lord, Thy pound hath gained five pounds; and some will have nothing in their hands, and only an ungrateful accusative attitude. We don’t just stay in sin, hoping in some mystical righteousness that cannot be proven by our deeds. We are saved from our sins so we can do good works! We stop sinning, and do what is right! Why is that something that so many “popular” writers, so vehemently oppose in their teaching? And why doesn’t everyone who really reads their Bible question what they read, if it is of God or not?
This should not be anything that a mature and grown up Christian is still “struggling with,” whether he has to relinquish all for following Jesus. Do we dig deep and build our foundation on the Rock, only to abandon the foundation to again build upon the sand? Does a soldier or sailor or Marine go through Basic Training, only to go back to his former life once he or she is done with the training?
The judgment you speak of is immediate and ongoing. Basically determining our path. There is grace with saved who sin, a time or season before the mantle is removed. Our nation is an example now as we slip into darkness.
The “works” issue is to extravagant to imagine. There is no limitation to our imagination, which is the drawing board for works. In a reprobate mind the ideas are still present, not righteous or worthy but still achieved.
In a righteous mind and life we can see no limitations. Healings should be common.
The issue becomes, we do not achieve because God says we can’t or don’t anymore, religion makes excuses for lazy attitudes. Truth is, it is a constant learning and enlightenment and works are verification of your heart, seen in all people.
When I see or hear “we should do works for bounty” in this life or next I see an error. All God gives is for others not “you” or the individual being used by God. Do I believe we shall receive for our works? Yes! But the heart must be focused on God and others not gain, I assume the rewards are greatly diminished or even negative if not. I can see how greed would overtake a person in that state of mind.
Intentions are misleading and should be credited for nothing, you do not know your own thoughts or where they are from much less your intentions. The unveiling is what Oswald chambers is referring to.
Thank you for this answer Rider! 😊✝
Thank you for your thoughtful reply, Palerider.
The point is being earnest and diligent out of a perfect heart with the Lord; obviously, NOT for base gain or self aggrandizement. The woman who came in and washed the Lord’s feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair, she wasn’t doing it for a show, but because she loved Jesus for saving her and setting her free from unclean spirits. The man who had invited Jesus to dinner, and sat in quiet criticism of the “inappropriate display” of this woman, did nothing, even of the common courtesies towards a guest in his house; because he didn’t think he had much to be forgiven.
The steward who gained ten pounds, did it because he worked harder than any of the others. We see people like that at the work place (sometimes!), who really do care about their work, and want to be the best they can. We’ve all heard the saying, You only get out of it what you put into it; well, we want to get our Master glory, and we want others to know Him as He really is, and not how those who don’t know Him, and don’t love Him, want everyone to think He is.
The taking account with us at the last day, will reflect our daily taking account; and the measure of our productivity will be according to what He has given us to take care of while He is away. Our gain is not something that Jesus anywhere says is wrong; but what we esteem as gain. We are to lay up treasures in heaven, where our heart is with our Father in heaven, and where they will last forever. God is preparing for us a city with streets of Gold; and He will be giving us a kingdom and dominion and wealth and honor, as His children. It is not wrong to hope for these things; but the enemy thinks to use Psychological tactics in his warfare against us, to twist and pervert the word of God, and by any means get us off the narrow way which leads to life.
The love of money is a root of all evil; indicates covetousness! The true and faithful pure in heart fear God greatly and hate covetousness.
The OC post today, is a reminder that our lives first count spiritually! Yes, we go thru daily motions of every day life which is necessary. But, the lesson from our Father is, are you going with me? or will you attempt to do everything yourself? In my own life, God is highlighting each and everything that I do during the day…teaching me to depend totally on Him, even in the very littlest mundane decisions. There should be no occasion for me to say…I did it myself (pride in my heart for my accomplishments) but rather, praising Him for help from the Sanctuary. I have found this to be the safest place in the whole planet!
I venture to say…with Christ, spiritually you will own nothing (accomplishments) and be happy! 🙏
Yes Stevie, I understand that much. But it is the point that throws Christians into absolutely worthless mind games, about whether they have any capacity to think and do at all! Find it in the Scriptures ANYWHERE, where God even suggests to His friends, that they have to turn off their brains, and walk around in a vacuum of uncertainty! He gives us His commandments and statutes of life, and has provided for us to be cleansed and forgiven and healed of the sinful nature, so we can walk and please God! Maybe it looks like I’m filtering out a gnat; but I have heard so much of this false humility and complete disconnect from reality of how we are made in the image of God, that only makes Christians confused, and hanging out in the unknown, of whether they can do anything at all! so the devil is laughing himself hysterical, because people actually listen to that gobblety gook psycho non-sense. Really! What does it mean, and what do you really get out it, what OC and thousands of others, are saying here? How then are you going to know when you are doing good? “If our heart condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and knows all things!” We have a conscience, and we have the Holy Spirit, and we have the word of God. So with all that God has given us to keep and do all that He says; who is this then that comes in and says, Oh, you still can’t be sure; there’s no way to be sure, don’t even dare to think you can, do what God wants and know what are His thoughts?
“Now the end (the thing aimed at) of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith without stage-playing; from which some having missed the mark, are turned aside (deviated) to vain talking.”
Like they say, A word to the wise!
“Give thanks to God that He is there, no matter what is happening.”

Numbers 13: 1-2,17-20,25-33
“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them . . . And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: and see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; and what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes . . . And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
The LORD commanded for a reconnaissance mission, to inspect, to observe, to survey, the enemy position, strength, etc., in order to gain information for their military purposes, to dispossess the land of its current occupants, and give it to the children of Israel. Their mission was an integral part for completing the whole plan of God for His people.
All the men that went on this mission for God’s people saw and understood the same things; they were all equally witnesses of the same things. But only Caleb and Joshua were of a perfect heart with the LORD, and followed Him wholly, for the whole purpose of God: the other ten however did not have their hearts perfect with the LORD, and so were completely disconnected from the purpose of their mission. Not being perfect with the LORD, and therefore not having the Holy Spirit as the influencer and guide of their spirits, made them easy to be made doubtful and afraid, and so too their minds ready to receive all the slander and contradiction of the devil, against the word of God.
Matthew 6:22-23 “The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye be clear, your whole body will be light; and if your eye be bad, your whole body will be dark: if therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”
Caleb’s eye was clear, looking only unto the LORD, and so his whole body was full of light, full of truth, and full of courage in the knowledge of God. But the men that went with him, whose eyes were bad, not looking with a single heart unto the LORD; they had no light in them, and were not able to see clearly; but were incapacitated by fear and unbelief. So it was, that out of the abundance of their hearts, their mouths spoke; and the evil spirit in their words went into the ears of the whole congregation, as right from the devil; to trouble and discourage God’s people away from all that He was already in the action giving to them.
We should look at those who are in positions of searching out and expounding the Scriptures, things of the kingdom of heaven for God’s people today, just the same as those which Moses sent to spy out the land. Pastors, teachers, Bible expositors, etc., are, as it were, on a reconnaissance mission; as an integral part of the whole plan of bringing God’s people into the things He is giving them. What they do is part of God’s bringing us into the promised land. They are not sent to find out how many ways it will be impossible, or to magnify the strength and size of the enemy, as if they were anything that could resist God: but they are to bring the people a detailed description of the land, and knowledge of what we should expect to meet in our walk, so we can overcome!
But it is not only pastors and teachers and church leadership, that need to have perfect hearts with God; the people as well need to be all of the same heart and mind and soul of Christ, for the work that He has given us to do. How many times did the Lord Jesus forewarn us about who could and couldn’t be His disciple? From the very outset He has set us free from our sins and cleansed us of all uncleanness, and has given us His Spirit into our hearts; so that we are fully provided for, for succeeding in our walk and not falling, and eventually coming home to Him, overcomers just as He has overcome. All the things He shows us in the word, and by revelation, is not for scaring us, but for having understanding of the times, so we would know what to do. He tells us in advance, so we will be mentally prepared for how tough we will have to be. Better to be trained and ready to come to the battle, than to be withheld knowledge and proper training, and not even have a fighting chance.
CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART, O GOD
At my church, we call the first half of our Sunday worship “the service of the Word.” It is mostly spoken, with a few hymns to support the scripture texts for the day. It begins with the liturgical singing that was highlighted in the last post.
In this service, we hear readings from the Psalms, the Old Testament, the Epistles, and the Gospels. These vary week-to-week on a fixed schedule, so that over time we hear “the whole counsel of God.”
Then we say the Nicene Creed together and hear the sermon. It is always rooted in one of the readings for the day.
Following this, we all sing the prayer taken from this text:
Create in me a clean heart, O God;
And renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence;
And take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
And uphold me with thy free spirit.
— Psalm 51: 10-12
The video is cued for this brief prayer, which bridges the Word and Sacrament parts of our worship. It ends at 8:35 on the video.
Next post will highlight the start of the service of the Sacrament, with quite a bit of congregatiional singing.

Good morning dear duchess. Yes, yes, yes!! Lovingkindness always. A gift from Almighty God, and one which multiplies when we share it with others. Blessings always💕

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Prayers,
A couple of months after the House came under Republican control we are now seeing some of the footage from January 6 that was suppressed two years by Democrats.
We are also being bombarded by the term deep fake, where a person can be made to appear doing something on video that never happened.
The implanting of this term in people’s minds is an attempt to get ahead of some known crimes caught on video that are going to be revealed.
Now that plausible deniability has been established can the release of video on Hunter Biden’s laptop and possibly quite a few others including Hillary be forthcoming?
Good morning all. The full moon here at Daytona Beach was gorgeous as the clouds moving SW passed and were illuminated by it.
Although it is nice to be able to go out by the pool in my bare feet and drink a beer and have a smoke, there is no way I would live here. Way to many people and way too much traffic. Houses built right on top of each other with no breathing space. Everyone that can afford them seems to have security cameras and even during the day people lock their doors because of the huge number of homeless that wonder about.
And every week there seems to be some event centering around the track which is close enough that we can hear when they have a race. And day in and day out from dawn to a couple hours after dark we have aircraft flying over as there is a flying school at the airport.
Nope! Not my cup of tea at all!
Let me help..for all who need the peace and beauty of God’s creations.
I think this is what is would speak to your heart, rah. It does mine…

As wondrous as that is, I would not want to be observing that formation from underneath……..
I agree, rah! I love the quiet of the morning in my rural area. Just birdsong and some roosters. The school bus goes by at 6:40. But it’s pretty peaceful.
My stepson lives in Pensacola, FL. When my wife and I were visiting him, same exact thing. I would sit outside by the pool, have a beer or 2 and a smoke. Weather was nice at the time, but I didn’t care for the traffic and congestion around the city. I didn’t see too many homeless people. I’m sure they were around, but my stepson lives in a neighborhood that’s similar to a gated community. Housing is expensive there.
Great place to visit, glad I’m don’t live there.
They let the homeless sleep on the beach here and they are everywhere.
I agree Rah.
left Orlando 27 months ago for a tiny little rural town in NE Tennessee. Hubby is in Florida right now. I went to bed last night and realized I forgot to lock the doors. Meh, I just smiled rolled over and went to sleep.
We have a huge garden, 2 laying sweet hens, apple trees, peach and cherry tree almond tree and 13 other big trees that are starting to bud.
My word that I live by is grateful.
You would have to drag me kicking and screaming back to Florida.
be blessed

Psalm 31:5-6, 14-16
R. Save me, O Lord, in your kindness.
You will free me from the snare they set for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hands I commend my spirit;
you will redeem me, O Lord, O faithful God. R.
I hear the whispers of the crowd, that frighten me from every side,
as they consult together against me, plotting to take my life. R.
But my trust is in you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
In your hands is my destiny; rescue me
from the clutches of my enemies and my persecutors. R.

Perhaps, in our wretched states, the most difficult thing to grasp.
“…He died for you individually…”
A simple statement which shoul deepen our humility and gratitude every single day.🙏🏻
Yes! Count your wins. Often times little ones mean the most. As here…
It is all that matters…
It is, dear brother. He’s right…it IS everything.💕
Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. – Galatians 6:7
It is getting close to that time of the year when farmers and gardeners plant seed with anticipation. These planters expect a good harvest in a few months, be it corn, watermelon, or flowers. Who plants anything not expecting a return? And who plants corn and expects beans? Yet, humans, at times, plant to the flesh and expect God’s blessings in return. Paul says in today’s verse God is not mocked, you will reap what you sow.
In the following verse, he advises sowing to the Spirit. The apostle mentions sharing good things with your spiritual teachers (v 6). He also encourages good deeds, especially to your brothers and sisters in Christ. Good deeds mentioned in the Bible often include giving to the poor, visiting those in jail, helping orphans and widows, and offering encouragement to those who are discouraged. Paul said whenever you have the opportunity, do good (v 10. Opportunities abound, from the food pantry down the street to recent earthquake victims.
While you will reap blessings as you sow in ways that are pleasing to God, planters realize that hard work, storms, and weeds are part of the process. So persevere to see the harvest. Galatians 6:9 says, “not grow weary of doing good.“ Today, follow the leading of the Spirit and reach out and do someone good. It may be as simple as encouraging someone or giving a donation to a nonprofit organization. Pray that the citizens and government officials of the United States would sow to the Spirit and not to the flesh.

“While you will reap blessings as you sow in ways that are pleasing to God, planters realize that hard work, storms, and weeds are part of the process. So persevere to see the harvest.” – Very true!
Thank you for the good words, and the reminder to remember those in need. Following the Spirit’s lead to speak what God has commanded us to speak to those whom He knows will not listen, and will not respond, is still necessary. We have to remember that we are unprofitable servants; and when we have done all that is commanded us, we have but done what is our duty to do. If we have the word of God, we are to speak His word faithfully; regardless of whether they hear or forbear.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
Yes,
“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9.”
A bible quote that has always stayed with me.
Thank you, Aggie for this beautiful verse.

About lies and those that claim to believe them.
They lied to us about Trump hiring Hookers.
They lied to us about Russian Collusion.
They almost certainly lied to us about the origin of COVID 19.
They lied to us about the effectiveness of alternative existing and inexpensive drugs in the treatment of COVID 19.
They lied to us about the effectiveness of masking, lockdowns, and social distancing.
They are still lying to us about the effectiveness of the experimental “vaccine”.
They lied and told us that the experimental “vaccine” would stop transmission.
They are still lying to us about injuries and deaths caused by the experimental “vaccine”.
They have lied to us about what happened on Jan. 6th.
They have lied to us about one catastrophe after another that was supposed to occur due to “climate change”.
They have lied and are still lying about the effectiveness of the measures being taken to reduce the amount of atmospheric CO2.
And so why would any person of reasonable intelligence and integrity continue to believe that what they are saying about the causes and effects of CO2 on the climate still not only claim to believe them, continually strive to propagate their propaganda?
John 8:44
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and he stood not in the truth; because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.

There is one thing to be said for bullies in the school yard back in the day. They were a hard lesson in unbridled human nature. A different kind of education if you will.
None who have experienced or watched real bullying want anything to do with mob rule.
Old school life lesson was that bullies were only successful until an individual stood up to them or the group ostracized them.

All quiet in rural America…..(as in all quiet on the western front)
Except more people are walking about with grim looks especially noticeable at the grocers and the gas stations.
Seeing road rage incidents, these were almost unheard of in rural areas, too many know each other to act out like this.
Sometimes even a smile and friendly greeting is met without response.
Still for the most part life goes on almost in spite of it all, Everyone seems aware something is wrong but leave me alone in my backyard……
Strange days.
