Within the footage you can see attacker David DePape and victim Mr. Pelosi answering the front door after the police arrive. Both are holding a hammer as the officer instructs DePape to “drop the hammer.” At that moment, things get violent as Mr. DePape pulls the hammer away from Pelosi and swings violently at his head. I’ll agree with those that say Staged. Not enough footage here and what’s here isn’t even believable. It’s like they created a reenactment based on the information released to date, while intentionally minimizing and camouflaging as much as possible at the same time. For example, it was reported that a third person opened the door, but that’s “clearly unclear” in the video. They needed to muddy the original report and be able to say Paul’s version of events has been confirmed. Ol’ Paul was getting too much bad press and his reputation needed some salve.

While he had drink in hand, as another Treeper noted the way the door opened it appeared to have an electronic opening mechanism of some sort considering the way it opened at a consistent speed all the way to a full opening with no obvious actor involved.
Pelosi is closer to the door and his left side is turned towards the door to the degree that it seems entirely plausible he merely bumped a button or lever to actuate the door.
DePape, with his right hand, which then went right back to holding the hammer by the handle. Looks like he was maintaining his grip on the hammer head with his left hand(along with Pelosi’s right hand) while opening the door.

As folks have been saying it has been quite some time since this incident, time where video could have been altered or as Just says even staged. Everything that has occurred in the last 7-8 years has convinced me to believe the conspiracy theory first, then see if facts disprove it. However, this is not what rankles me about this incident. I could care less if Mr. Pelosi had rocks (ice cubes) in his drink, or was in the process of getting his rocks off, or simply had rocks in his head. Early in the thread security footage of the break in can be seen, so yes to cameras, they are monitored from DC, that’s why the time stamp has a three hour difference, but the monitors are idiots and missed the entry.
The 911 operator brought shame down upon their organization, considerable incompetence on multiple levels, including not having a light bulb when he said who he was.
Interestingly enough, for some reason Pelosi seem to have expected to be speaking with Capital Police when he made the call.

Totally agree with your scenario. However in the clip prior to the break-in, DePapes comes around to the back with a backpack, lays it on the ground and then leaves. He comes back with another parcel, puts it beside the backpack and ruts around in it until he finds a hammer and a glove so that he doesn’t hurt his little hand when he smashes in the glass. He struck it quite a few times before it shattered and he crawled thru. Paul should have heard this break in and been alarmed. I believe Paul turned on the lights and tried to keep the man calm and settled. The drink we see in Paul’s hand might have been just mixed to hand over to De Pape to make hm comfortable. When Paul opened the door and the police saw the hammer and difference of ages of the men, they should have fired, maybe not to kill but to disable the situation. The laughter shown by Paul was nervous fear as he tried to not allow the nut to explode.

The 911 call indicates Mr. Pelosi needed help, but in the presence of the intruder, did not want to cause alarm and escalate the situation. An experienced and trained 911 Dispatcher or law enforcement officer could tell by the verbal cues.
As an example: Women are advised to pretend they are calling for a pizza if a violent spouse or other person is present. The 911 Dispatcher will read the verbal cues and send help. In the Pelosi case, this was done.
The police are immediately trying to assess the situation. Approximately 13 seconds goes by from the time the front door of the Pelosi house is opened and the subject swings the hammer. The cops immediately react to the assault. Again, the demeanor of Mr. Pelosi is similar to a person trying to keep things calm and perhaps avoid being struck with the hammer.
Pelosi has one hand on the hammer and the drink cup was likely due to again the attempt to maintain a calm atmosphere in the face of an unknown intruder. It can also explain why Pelosi did not immeditaely run toward the cops due to the fear of being hit from behind.
We do not know what was said or any verbal threats from the intruder prior to the police arrival.
I am not a fan of the Pelosis, but the video evidence suggests the intruder did break into the Pelosi house and was threatening Mr. Pelosi and did, in fact, violently assault him with a hammer.

The capital police video of the back window being broken is as fake as Hollywood down the street. No glass falls outside on the porch in the video but is all outside in the day after pictures. Took them a few months to shoot the fake video
