Steven Crowder is a smart and witty voice, generally a happy warrior who has been in the battle against the cultural and political progressive movement for over a decade. He’s been in the fight for quite a while and deserves a great deal of praise for bringing a generation of younger people into the fold. I respect his long-established time in the trenches of the cultural war, and we are helping him deliver his message.
Crowder’s audience, the “Mug Club”, is likely a mix of Gen-Z and Gen-X rebels throwing sand into the machinery. He does a great job producing content that deconstructs the insanity of the political left in a way that works and expands his audience. Crowder has almost 6 million YouTube subscribers and while I don’t follow him closely, the message he delivered yesterday is very pertinent.
The problem he outlines is an inside baseball dynamic taking place in the background of the conservative media. It essentially boils down to a financial issue CTH raised a long time ago when the first signals of this troubling trend started. Most of the “well known” conservative media outlets have been purchased and co-opted by a financial system that ultimately controls their content. If you have the time, WATCH:
.
What Crowder is discussing is the reason why Michelle Malkin dropped out of the fight. The “BigCon” Crowder notes is essentially like the Fox News of alternative media. They offer incentives to monetize the content provider (broadcaster, website, pod caster etc.) then lock the content providers into extremely controlling contracts that control the outcomes.
Ultimately, what the audience ends up seeing is an approved finished product that is acceptable to BigCon and Big Tech. In essence they are in bed together to stop bold and alternative conversation and filtrate the message to shades of soft pastels.
Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA (TPUSA), Posobiec, Tim Poole, Conservative Review, CRTV (Glenn Beck, Blaze), Mark Levin, Dave Rubin, Salem Media [Townhall, Hot Air, Twitchy, Red State, PJ Media], The Daily Wire with Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, the list of names and outlets who participate in this overall system is very long. Upstream you will find the same financial underwriters, and all of them have a commonality.
Crowder is at an inflection point and obviously he is unwilling to capitulate to the guiding hands in control that no one is allowed to discuss.
Good for him. I hope he can leverage his influence to break the control mechanism, give startups an alternative, and continue the rebellion.
I am really looking out to see who will go work with Crowder, can’t wait for the multiple FEARLESS shows that will pop up, the thing I’m most excited about is that we won’t have to listen to all BORING repeat – the – line shows
I’ve watched the full Crowder video as well as responses from Daily Wire and one from Shapiro.
This is the best analysis I’ve seen so far from Mark Dice who you can always count in for some plain truth.
I didn’t like the guy. His tone and delivery come across like a bucket of puke.
I don’t know where the full truth exists. What I do know that if the terms and conditions of being in one of their “first amendment speech” clubs is to limit your speech is flatly wrong. Forget about the money.
This guy lost me when he clearly didn’t understand that the $50 million being offered was to the show and not to Crowder individually. He would’ve had to pay all production development costs out of that money. I have no opinions either way, but this guy just wasn’t credible.
I like Mark and love what Crowder has ‘triggered’. The showing of receipts! The opening of the window!
Dang, we get to use discernment to figure out what is ‘up’..
This is the first response I’ve watched to Crowder’s vid so I’ll be watching more.
Thank you Dice. Thank you Crowder. Open the flood gates.
“I don’t mean this to be a pile on or an attack on Crowder..”
Says the guy who just got done attacking crowder. He criticized Crowder for wanting his independence and selling his “stuff” then he brags about his independence and asked his viewers to subscribe to his stuff? I usually like Mark but I really don’t see the point of this video.
This is why I am staying from ALL of the “conservative” talkers… except of course for Sundance.
Like Paul Harvey, he’s giving “the rest of the story”.
To be fair, Mark Dice has always been pretty hardcore. He’s criticized just about everyone. I think he missed the crux of the issue here. Crowder would incur huge penalties if Youtube gave him a strike. The uniparty scam is obvious. Sign him to a contract and his content comes under the big tech woke censors. Media Matters and Sleeping Giants go to work getting him a nonsense strike. Crowder falls back in line or lose the enterprise.
When has the Daily Wire EVER gone after the critical criminal infrastructure of Gov’t? Get the jab and the voting system is fine as far as Ben is concerned.
But Mark Dice and many others must censor themselves on YT or they’d be gone. The best current answer is use YT to attract users and move them to Rumble and other platforms where hardcore issues can be discussed.
The list of names shows politics is entertainment. Every time I see Candace or the other young voices of zero experience, change the channel. Not worth the time or energy
He needs to expose them and drop the receipts. Threatening will do nothing. Hit them where it hurts. Expose their scheming reputations.
“If you feel in your gut that a lot of conservative content out there feels homogeneous, feels sanitized, feels like they’re they’re missing some key points, there’s a reason for that, there’s a reason that you know. You often find yourself asking, ‘Hey, I wonder why X won’t talk about Y?'”
“Brought to you by Pfizer”
I have experienced that for the last two years. Been suspicious for a long time, and this incudes Dan Bongino, ClayandBuck, and Salem News most of all. Good for Crowder! It has made me feel more uneasy with start of the new year. After losing the midterms, their boring, robot messages are still the same. They have no passion, no conviction, it’s more about THEM having a good time. And constantly, people wonder why isn’t he talking about this..every day. Crowder, love you baby, hope they join you. If they don’t, well that just confirms what we knew anyway.
All I can say is that Michelle Malkin jumped the shark a long time ago. She was not interested in the question of Obama’s nonexistent Hawaiian Birth Certificate and made fun of those who were.
I wonder why anyone would watch fox for news. Fox is part of the new slavery ring.
Especially Judge Jeanine, she is just awful now when she subs for someone. It is all light and airy and of course, funny (they think) and their FOX guests all have a nice giggle. Sanitized big time.
Sundance: When I 1st found Treehouse 2-3 years ago, you were going through a “platform” struggle. Was it a similar situation to what Crowder is describing??
I’ve been a “mug clubber” from the beginning. I’m closer to his father’s generation than his. I’m happy he left the Blaze and miss his hilarious content and his fearless pursuit of the truth and his endeavors to reach out to the opposition to defend their position i.e. “Change my mind” episodes. Steven Crowder is extremely generous with his resources and money.
I cannot wait to see where he lands but hope he is able to create his own platform.
Mark Steyn had jumped in the Gary Katz CRTV thing alongside Levin and Crowder and rapidly got into a legal battle with them. He had created a set, theme song video intro and formula then something went wrong in the relationship, which he blames on Katz. Steyn also does a shtick now where he says “don’t wave your Constitution at me” where he associates that point of view with Levin. I wonder if there was creative control censorship going on.
DW thinks starting a deal in bad faith is how you are supposed to do business with a friend…
How does DW treat someone who they are not friends with…
Here is a Crowder follow-up. Wow
This is how TBTP control absolutely everything. It’s their black magic money con at work. Central banks / Payoff schemes / Its almost always works. / when it fails they use intimidation and murder
