Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviews Ron DeSantis following the Florida primary election on Tuesday. Governor DeSantis notes the excellent statewide results from schoolboard races that were a big part of his focus for the primary season.
Governor DeSantis will now head into the November election facing former Florida Governor Charlie Crist. WATCH:
.
It’s clear by now that DeSantis is running. I don’t see this as a GOPe move, though. There seems to be a split on the MAGA side, at least at the top. Donors like Peter Thiel, and possibly people like Elon Musk, want candidates to run on MAGA ideas, which are popular with independents and working class dems (and most normal people frankly) but want someone other than Trump. They’ve picked DeSantis. Other candidates in this faction are Youngkin, Vance, and Masters. If President Trump runs, and I don’t think he will, you’ll see primary fights over covid policies, the vax, and over who can get things done better. I don’t think McConnell or GOPe want either faction but if forced to choose, would go with the Thiel/DeSantis faction.
There just isn’t any pleasing some people. President Trump is not only a unicorn in American politics, he’s a purple unicorn that can not only fly but teleport. In other words, a unique individual of such exceeding rarity that perhaps only one such man has ever come along in the two and a half centuries of our Republic.
And people fret there isn’t anyone else like him? Of course not! But Ron DeSantis is the next best thing we have, apparently, at the moment. And I for one hope to see a Trump/DeSantis ticket take the White House in 2024, followed by two terms for DeSantis in 2028 and 2032.
But … but … The Big Club! Controlled opposition!
Do you have anything better?
Exactly! I don’t understand this obsession to take down Desantis. There are plenty that deserves this kind of treatment especially in the senate and even some other rino governors but we should ignore them and tear down Desantis. Because he doesn’t shout MAGA enough or mention Trump to some peoples liking. This mentality is worrisome to say the least.
Where was this energy to defeat Kemp in Georgia? Where is this energy to take down Mconnel and his merry band of rinos? Nooo, let’s tear down someone that may be closer to carrying the mantle of our philosophy and eventually we will be left with Romneys and Jeb Bushes of the world.
Tearing down Desantis is not going to help Trump in the myriad of persecution coming his way…some of it self inflicted. It however will ensure that the candidate pool will be filled with the undesired and we will be forced to lick our vomits again. It’s just like a cycle and I am beginning to suspect that this is intentional.
What has DeSantis done for Trump since Trump helped DeSantis win his Governor spot in 2018?
On the day Mar-a-Lago raid was executed, Turning Point announced the DeSantis rallies in battleground states. Does that look like a Florida Governor campaign? Or does it look like DeSantis (prematurely) dancing on Trump’s political grave?
>What has DeSantis done for Trump since Trump helped DeSantis win his Governor spot in 2018?
You mean other than ending the corruption in Broward/Dade and stopping the steal there, and thereby stopping the steal and delivering Florida’s electoral votes to President Trump instead of them going to Biden?
I suppose you might quibble over some of those directly benefitting President Trump, but they’ve all directly benefitted President Trump’s supporters and are ALL in line with MAGA and putting America First. They are directly supporting, encouraging, and enabling the people who will be voting for President Trump in 2024.
Well said.
Florida’s elections are as crooked as ever, with hackable voting terminals left untouched. The only reason that Donald Trump took Florida the first time, is they did not anticipate the level of support he had in traditionally blue districts like Miami Dade.
The Cuban vote put him over the top in an area they did not anticipate this massive turnout. It had nothing to do with Ron DeSantis.
Remember that the GOPe can’t cheat in every single precinct in the country and make it obvious. Instead, they cherry pick the precincts they think they will need to tweak. Trump brought out the monster vote and swamped their prior cheating mechanisms and software algorithms.
In 2020, despite all the fake investigations and impeachments, it was an even greater sweep for Trump that they had to stop counting the remaining states in order to cheat retroactively.
The TREASONOUS COUP was *that* obvious.
Rob DeSantis should remain in Florida and showcase his MAGA chops by enacting sweeping *election reform* in the great state of Florida. Get rid of cheating software, mail-in ballots after polls close and show legal ID like they need to buy beer.
Only US citizens should have the right to vote in our elections. Talk about a foreign insurgency!
DeSantis won’t address election integrity, of course, if he wishes to stay in the good graces of his GOPe handlers, who are using him to oust President Trump.
Um, point of clarification you have to show ID in Florida, you have to be a citizen, you must have your absentee ballot in prior to the close of the polls on election day. If you vote by absentee you must include a copy of your valid state issued ID.
Yes we still have machines, scanners to be exact. I agree they need to go. I would also like voting day, not weeks of early voting. More than anything I’d like our voter rolls cleaned up. We’ve had several attempts through the years and the lawsuits invariably fly.
Where is Ron screaming about supporting PDJT for president in 2024 and doing anything to get this country back.
Did I miss President Trump’s announcement?
No quibble needed. Those actions all primarily benefited Floridians and Florida politicians. Gov. DeSantis has been well above average compared to all other Republican Governors.
He has not however, expressed his support for President Trump by either advocating increased investigations into the 2020 fraud or by supporting the 45th president’s innocence of any of the false charges levied against him in the January 6th smear attempt or in the current smear attempt that was capped by the illegal raid on Mar-A-Lago. When the chips are down, PDJT’s supposed supporters’ masks come off and their true character is exposed for all to see…..
What has Trump done to support the 800 people in jail who came to DC at his personal request, to support his cause in the election dispute. Hundreds have been in solitary confinement for a year and a half and several have committed suicide. What has Trump done for them?
I don’t know what 45 had done behind the scenes, which is where he does a lot of his work. I do know he has rebuked the “insurrection” hoax, the govt overreach, and Truthed that justice should be served the J6 people.
He has not authority or power to do anything beyond that, James. Who are you James???
I am one who went to DC to support Trump and have watched as he has given zero public support to advocate for their release. Who are you?
Governor has power to get his CITIZENS BACK.
PDJT has a microphone to talk about it – THATS IT .
anything else – MAMET PRINCIPLE PERSON
You’re wrong. Read this :
https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-says-hes-financially-supporting-165350215.html
Obviously, someone out to get PDT….and someone who is trolling conservative sites against him now…who will be doing the same against DeSantis, if he gets PDT out, when THAT time comes. Thankfully, we can see these people coming a mile away.
Spoken out numerous times and posted in Truth Social against the prisoners’ illegal imprisonment and grossly unequal application of “justice” combined with the governments’ illicit covert involvement with the J6 protest.
Perhaps you selectively ignored those occurrences .
I know he has done nothing serious to keep this illegal prosecution in front of the public. I know he spends more time bragging about the deadly vaccine than trying to get the patriots whose lives have literally been ruined for coming to DC as he requested, out of jail.
vaccine got the SCAM OF GOVERNORS KEEPING THEIR STATES LOCKED DOWN – out of LOCKDOWN cause there is a cure now ( A FAKE ONE BUT one the Governors HAD TO SWALLOW)
nobody mandated it under PDJT.
He’s done this:
https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-says-hes-financially-supporting-165350215.html
Do you expect him to do more than President Trump has done? If so, why is that your expectation?
Has DeSantis declined any support, in any way, that he could have provided?
What, specifically, would you like Governor DeSantis to do regarding the MAL raid?
I see lots of requests for him to bluster meaninglessly, and that’s all it would be. I also see a lot of requests for him to literally secede and declare war on the Federal gov’t.
Do you think DeSantis should secede and declare war? What specific actions short of that would you be satisified with?
So you regard Governor DeSantis’ public addresses, speeches, and press conferences as “bluster”? He could easily voice support for President Trump in any of those.
But….interesting.
As probably the most prominent Republican governor in the U.S. because he has taken bold steps to countermand leftwing ideologically driven mandates and demands that benefit Floridians, one would think it is not that great of a leap to expect DeSantis to conspicuously support the only president in modern history who has also taken similar bold, counter-Establishment actions that benefit the overwhelming majority of U.S. citizens.
>So you regard Governor DeSantis’ public addresses, speeches, and press conferences as “bluster”?
I regard ALL speech as bluster, as speech is not action. Action is action. Speech is speech. Speech can lead to action, speech can communicate ideas, speech can inspire, but speech is not action.
>the only president in modern history who has also taken similar bold, counter-Establishment actions that benefit the overwhelming majority of U.S. citizens.
Well, this part is categorically false.
>expect DeSantis to conspicuously support [Trump]
I think it is obvious, self-evident even, that DeSantis IS supporting President Trump. He is supporting President Trump’s agenda at every turn. He is supporting all of the candidates President Trump has endorsed. By his ACTIONS, he’s telling you exactly who he is and who he supports.
A LOT of this “DeSantis is against Trump” stuff stems from a Washington Post editorial about how DeSantis is snubbing Trump. I don’t see see it, and I’m certainly not going to take anything from the WaPost as truth, not even with a grain of salt.
I understand that there’s some question about DeSantis’ finances and contributions, and lots of conspiracies about what the GOPe is doing to manipulate him.
But the facts remain: DeSantis is running for Florida Governor. DeSantis has NOT announced a 2024 run, campaign, exploratory, etc. DeSantis is supporting every MAGA, America First, and Pro-Trump candidate and movement out there.
I’m not sure what to expect with this scenario, but I believe DeSantis has not announced a run for President because of the campaign/fundraising restrictions, just like President Trump won’t announce. I noticed on DeSantis’s cheesy ad that it made reference only to his run for governor. I may be wrong with my understanding. Time will tell.
All I know is, the arguments starting on sites like this among people who all want the same thing are exactly what the hard-left haters want, and it’s disgusting. Why they can’t spend their time developing policies instead of just ripping apart people who DO have policies to Put America First…well, no, there is no puzzle about it at all. Everybody knows where they’re coming from. Confuse the issue– get people fighting among themselves–pretend that there are real problems with MAGA and ignore what the global totalitarians are doing to dismantle the country…it’s obvious what they’re doing, but they know if they can stir up enough emotion, we’ll spend our time debating one America Firster over another rather than educating people about how dangerous the democrat party is — and that’s exactly what they want.
It’s all noise. We know whose movement it is, no we’re not going to turn against him, we know what DeSantis’s job is and that he has the character not to try to step in before his time anyway….it’s all just to keep people acting like there are Serious Questions about What To Do and We’d Better Thank About This and….when no, we know exactly what to do…and we’re doing it and will continue doing it. So nice try, but– all it does it make a lot of us skip on to the next story and thread because this one has gotten bogged down with irrelevancy.
“ALL in line with MAGA and putting America First”…
Then why doesn’t DeSantos ever say “MAGA” or “America First” in any sentence —- like Kari Lake always does?
WHY?
Nothing he did directly benefitted 45, but 45 benefited DeSantis with his endorsement without which he was NOT going to be seated as he was at the bottom of the stack.
Because he has a different style of speech and thought, and a different personality.
That’s the point. He isn’t a fighter. He didn’t fight in US Navy either. He was JAG.
He doesn’t have the “personality” credentials to fight DC nor does he have the trade/foreign policy credentials.
I would have voted for him in 2028, but after this stint of raising $$$ in Nantucket weekend after the RAID and other recent stuff, not sure I’ll do it.
President Trump isn’t a fighter, and has never pretended to be. He’s a negotiator and a businessman. He’s ALWAYS looking to make a deal.
I don’t believe President Trump will ever go scorched earth on anyone. I don’t think it is in his nature. He definitely has BDE, he’s willing to push back aggressively, he’s willing to call people out, and he’s not afraid to make a spectacle of himself. But almost all of President Trump’s issues and failures came about because he was negotiating and looking to make deals, not to fight for complete domination to the mattresses.
If that’s your yardstick, DeSantis is certainly no worse than President Trump.
Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if anyone here had a working brain.
Do please be careful, and remember we are guests here. This is not our blog, and this is not a free speech zone. Insinuation that certain individuals may not be the sharpest tools in the shed has resulted in bans in the past.
Have you read what these people are saying about the excellent governor of Florida on these very posts? Are they being banned for trashing a very good man?
Yes, and no. Again, it isn’t a free-speech zone.
It sure is a free speech zone. Just be polite.
Division in play. Mentioned earlier by Sundance; DeSantis ran his campaign ads for Florida’s Governorship on national TV. National TV. Big money, 2 campaigns, one to be Governor, one for national exposure for…? Only election that is national is the Presidency.
The nation is divided; the Party is being further divided; the stakes are BIG and so is the money that buys national TV ads.
DeSantis had already won high elective office in Florida before Trump.
And went to DC and was a do nothing, no-recognizable-name rep who voted for TTP. He served from 2013 – 2018. Never heard his name – once.
Look what MTG did her first term. Household name.
President Trump plucked him out of his nothing rep job and pushed him to run for FL governor. When he couldn’t hold his own and was at the bottom of the pile campaigning, 45 endorsed him, lifted him out of the bottom of the pack, and on to win the seat.
Basically, DeSantis was a nobody.
But, he has been a great governor.
Needs to stay as governor.
PETER PRINCIPLE.
A #1: nothing
A #2: no it does not
A #3: premature dancing on 45’ political grave
They arrested 20 mooks for voter fraud!!!!!111!!!
Hummm! Do you live in FL? I do, so what do you wish DeSantis would say?
“ Oh hey, I am a Trump supporter and I owe all that I am and all I will ever be to him.”
You do realize that DeSantis was his own person before Trump supported him, right?
The “purity”tests are tedious. Oh, if only Ron would keep bowing, then people would like him more!
I am not saying Trump’s support of DeSantis wasn’t major. Of course it was! Trump saw a good man and backed him.
So do you think Ron should have built an altar and never become his own man?
No disrespect intended here at all. I am trying to understand.
God be with you and all Treepers!
Where was DeSantis on the Raid? Did he warn Trump? NO! DID he condemn the Trump raid? No! Did he stop it,? No!Did he at anytime, mention The Trump raid? Never! He’s just trying to run on Trumps coat tails without helping him!
>Did he warn Trump?
He wasn’t informed about it. Nothing to inform President Trump about.
>DID he condemn the Trump raid?
Yes, a couple of times.
>Did he stop it,?
No, of course not. You may not like it, or how corrupt our DOJ is, but it was a “LEGAL” raid done under the color of law at least loosely following the rules as laid out in law. Will there be legal challenges to it? Of course. Will those challenges succeed? They had better.
But there is not a force on earth that was going to stop that raid, unless that force was willing to openly declare war on the United States of America.
>Did he at anytime, mention The Trump raid?
Yes, again, several times. Do try to keep up.
methinks even the supine Supreme Court is going to find difficulties with that raid.
No, DeSantis NEVER once condemned the raid against Trump as he has never once said the word TRUMP.
Never. Once.
Only after 5 days after the RAID, after he announced he was going to be campaigning in AZ, PA & OH, and had GOPe training/grooming while in his bunker, did he mention the RAID – only ONCE- without EVER mentioning Trump’s name, his most significant resident in FL, and a former President of the United States.
Try. To. Keep. Up. — and I don’t mean with the fake news propaganda,
8:43 PM 8/8/2022 Condemned the raid, the FBI, Biden regime and called the action Banana Republic. Most conservative sites carried it with comments. Sundance posted it on this site.
Condemning the raid ONCE, after 5 days in his bunker, without condemning the RAID against Trump, a former President of the United States is NOT condemning the illegal raid (by many legal scholars to date per Robert Barnes, Esq), against Trump.
No. He never condemned the raid for 5 days as he sat in his bunker. Read the articles here posted.
Don’t waste my time.
Wrong
He literally tweeted about it the day of the raid.
He mentioned it in his next live speech, which was five days later, yes. He did NOT use President Trump’s name, but he did specifically refer to Mar-A-Lago by name.
You can think whatever you prefer about the “delay” of five days. That’s your prerogative. He is a full-time governor and running a full-time campaign as well.
the perfect minimum.
politician
Funny. He can go campaign in OH and PA but he can only find time to condemn the raid…once …that I saw.
>No, DeSantis NEVER once condemned the raid against Trump as he has never once said the word TRUMP.
So saying that the raid was something that happens in a Banana Republic was an endorsement of the raid as a positive, then?
Or how the FBI has been weaponized to go after politcal opponents of the regime and people they don’t like, that was in support of the raid too?
It is just the failure to utter the word “Trump” that makes DeSantis illegitimate in his criticism and condemnation of the raid in your eyes?
The failure to utter the word “Trump”, “MAGA” or “America First” disqualifies RDS as a Trump supporter, MAGA or America First supporter.
RDS LEFT Trump, MAGA & America First (if he was ever a bona fide part of any either.
NEITHER TRUMP, MAGA OR AF LEFT RSD.
His choice.
PETER PRINCIPLE.
Have a nice day. I am as I enjoy Hutchinson Island, FL.
I don’t believe you understand what the Peter Principle actually is.
Forecasting for Office of the Presidency.
Mainecoon, I’m not sure about all of DeSantis’ speeches, but I happened to catch the one in Ohio for JD Vance. Governor DeSantis indeed did condemn the raid, the FBI, and mentioned President Trump by name.
Go back and watch that speech. It was toward the end he mentioned the raid and also mentioned russiagate and the continual persecution of President Trump.
I specifically remember it because I cackled out loud, wondering how the DeSantis Derangement crowd here would spin it.
I have to admit I’m disappointed. I expected some spin like it’s a double cross back to fool us, the big club gave him the OK, something. Instead I get denial. Sorry, but he did mention it, he did say his name and there is video evidence. I’ve no doubt it wasn’t forceful enough for the DeSantis Derangement crowd, if only he had set his hair on fire or slit his wrists, but alas he didn’t.
Somebody, Didn’t see it but would have watched it if you or anybody had linked it. I don’t hate RDS. Was big supporter until he got off course and has done all this. It is what it is. It fell for the oldest trick in the GOPe book. We’ll watch it play out, play-by-play. Disappointing.
[DeSantis] wasn’t informed about [the raid]
Do we know that?
Well the attorney General for the state said that the federal government didn’t coordinate with the state or give them a heads up.
Maybe she’s a deep state, GOPe plant too🙄
There was no official conveyance of info. But we know there are plenty of back channels.
And YOU know there was some back channel communication? You are the all knowing. Or is it just your imagination 🤔
What did Trump do for the January 6 supporters of his who did exactly what he asked and are now being tortured daily in jail which is more like a Soviet Gulag? What is Trump doing for them? Why is Trump still lying about the vaccine?
The idiots who broke into the Capitol and caused damage and even hurt some police officers caused their own problems, and they caused MASSIVE problems for Trump too! The whole Jan 6 Kangaroo Court in Congress is happening because of the idiots who rioted! Expensive legal problems for Trump and everyone around him. Trump doesn’t owe the rioters anything!
As for the vaccine, it actually does help people survive the worst COVID symptoms. By the way, DeSantis also promotes the vaccine.
Thank you. I wish more people would admit this. The people behind bars for January 6th are in jail because they were dum dums who allowed themselves to be lured into an obvious false flag situation.
They greatly HURT Trump and the MAGA cause.
Goodness gracious.
>broke into the Capitol and caused damage and even hurt some police officers
Found the ShareBlue plant.
Trump put Christopher Wray, the man who ordered the raid, in as head of the FBI. Wray was who Trump put there to make sure we had the best person running the FBI.
No. SSIC and Mitch McConnell put Wray in as director.
Try to keep up. We treepers do keep up. Guess you’re new here. Too bad you missed reading all the back story articles.
Oh well. We’ve read them.
>SSIC and Mitch McConnell put Wray in as director.
Does the Buck stop on Mitch McConnell’s desk, then? Was it his name on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office from 2017-2021?
Wow. Guess you missed reading the articles posted here on this very issue of how things really work. I can’t catch you are. You must be knew. Check the archives. Bye.
Look how long it has taken for we the people to wake up and smell the coffee – with the help of President Trump and Sundance. Sundance has taught us all the tricks the establishment uses to get their people elected. Some of us have learned that lesson well and, as a result, recognize the early signs of a bought and paid for politician.
I can’t wait for you people to be blown up when the real Ronnie DeSantis is so exposed you can’t pretend otherwise.
Yes, the only person in all of America with any virtue is Donald Trump, who tells everyone to take the deadly vaccine and who put Christopher Wray in to head up the FBI.
For the third time, James, SSIC & Mitch put Wray in.
Pense, FAuci, Bric et al were his fake advisors. Geez. wonder why Pense chose them? Saw little traitor boy was in Iowa.
Fool me once, now I see.
Who do you represent, James? Lots of comments, same ones, by you….
I don’t think you love DeSantis as much as you hate Trump.
BRIC????? Sounds like you are mixing up different political issues.
That is inaccurate. Trump also promoted alternatives like HCQ (criminally suppressed by Dr. Fauci & Big Pharma with the assist of the MSM & Big Tech). Trump also always stated it was everyone’s right to decide what to do.
And most importantly, Trump did not mandate the vaccine.
Is this what the right has been reduced to? Rooting for, cheering for, and hoping for failure of allies and potential allies to prove that one was more “virtuous” in one’s initial hot-take?
Screw anyone’s accomplishments for our team, no matter how beneficial, if they aren’t sufficiently “virtuous?”
Is this what it now means to be a “conservative?” Is that why “conservatives” have conserved nothing, not even the little girls’ bathrooms from invasion? Because they didn’t do it with pure enough motives? Laws would have been passed by people who were sinners, so damn them and their efforts?
Shame on you, Sonya.
No, the right is tired of being jilted by the ones we bring to the dance. The ones who pretend to be something they aren’t and lie about their motives and actions.
It’s how we get McConnell and Graham and Pence and Romney and Bush I and II and and and on and on.
It’s how we got to this place, otherwise called battered conservative syndrome.
Some of us are trying to ensure it doesn’t happen again, in any race at any level, local state or federal.
A lot of us here were slow on the uptake when Sessions was exposed here.
Now, fool us once,….now we see.
These are the same people who bought into Ted Cruz and were incredulous when you pointed out to them some red flags.
Back when I thought Trump would be re-elected in 2020 (he won the election; he just didn’t get a chance to serve his second term), I said I hoped another person like him (high profile, wealthy enough not to be able to be bought by The Swamp, and, most importantly, willing to put the people, not himself, first) would appear to pick up where he left off in 2024. So far it appears all of the people who fit that bill and could be candidates appear to have stayed in the shadows. Perhaps that is because Trump can still run for another term, so they want to see what he will do before showing themselves. Perhaps they have observed that Trump has been hounded for 7 years with no end in sight and decided “to hell with it.”
I am still in favor of a Trump run in 2024 if he decides he’s up to it because no one else has stepped forward to convince me Trump doesn’t have the best chance to rid us of the crap weasel Democrats. The question, then, becomes who he should choose as a running mate to 1) increase his chances of winning in 2024 and 2) set the VP up for a successful campaign in 2028. The goal should be if Trump is elected to give the VP the forum to appear “presidential” by giving him duties that mean something. Let him clean up the border mess that Harris has so dismally failed to do. Give him a presence overseas to enhance his international reputation.
Is DeSantis another Trump? I haven’t seen it so far, but I’m not yet willing to throw him away. I don’t think it does us any good to do so. If everyone other than Trump is automatically considered a loser, then people who are not losers will also say “to hell with it.” Then what? More Jeb!? More Mitt? Conservatives get plenty of push-back from leftists. We don’t need to help them by piling on. Stick to saying positive things about the people on our side. If you can’t say something positive, say nothing at all.
Should DeSantis run for POTUS in 2024? Not if Trump does. And while we’re talking about people who could follow after Trump should he win in ’24, I would like to float the name Devin Nunes.
If Trump announces a 2024 run and DeSantis does too, what will you think of DeSantis?
There is deep hatred for DeSantis here, because he is conservative, Republican and very effective. Odd that that creates hate here.
No, James. The only hate here is your hate for Trump.
We like DeSantis —- for GOVERNOR.
PETER PRINCIPLE, james. You’ve got TDS. It isn’t love for DeSantis; it’s plain and simple TDS.
PETER PRINCIPLE, regarding RDS.
Yeah, nobody here with conservative values.
Just a bunch of cultists that have been receiving bad information for a long time.
Don’t focus on one being Republican RINO or Democrat, it’s a cute little clever trick to keep the sheep divided.
Not so sure I’d say DeSantis is what you described, he’s PLAYING A ROLE, nothing more.
You are a tool. That is a patently false statement.
I agree it is intentional, very similar to the tea party.
No one here has said take down DeSantis. Merely, we should open our eyes and see the uniparty hand up his a__.
I think DeSantis will be the next biggest mistake. I’m going to be blunt, I think he’s a climber and a user. He used the Tea Party and then he used Trump/MAGA and now he’s taking huge donations from GOPE donors. He refuses to even acknowledge Trump any more, but in 2018 when he wanted to be Florida Governer he embraced Trump and put out an all-Trump/MAGA campaign ad:
I like Jim Jordan a lot, he’s much like Trump but doesn’t do the DeSantis self-promotion. (“Top Gov”? Seriously? Who died and made DeSantis the Gov God?)
Jim Jordan is a coward who refuses to call for KM’s ouster as house leader.
Is that the only reason you dislike Jordan? (I’m not saying it’s an invalid reason.)
Why should DeSantis not promote himself, if he wants to succeed? Does Trump ever promote himself?
Are you at all put off that DeSantis is calling himself “Top Gov” and his handlers call him “America’s Governor”?
Look at what Charlie Kirk said to promote the DeSantis rallies:
He has become the model for a new conservative movement that is willing to stand on principle and to actually fight on behalf of the values of his voters.
Kirk is talking about DeSantis as if Trump doesn’t even exist, and DeSantis is fully on board with this nonsense. It was Trump who started the new conservative movement that is still booming 7 years later, and it’s Trump who has always been principled and fights for the citizens of the U.S. Now suddenly DeSantis’ promoters have ripped the mantle off of Trump and put it on DeSantis, and he proudly sports it as if he deserves it. What an ingrate.
I agree with all but iirc it was President Trump who plucked this lackluster, no-name-recognition rep from 2013 – 2018 out of the House and convinced him to run for FL governor, and when he was at the bottom of the pile running, 45 tapped him a 2nd time and endorsed him and he went on to run.
Without 45, RDS wouldn’t be governor.
He’s been a great governor and should be a great governor again.
As president, no. Not ready. Not equipped (trade/foreign policy).
PETER PRINCIPLE.
‘Who died and made DeSantis the Gov God?
^Deep state THE CABAL
DeSantis never saw a press conference he didn’t like; he made
himself the governor god
Well said. My sentiments exactly. Trump has his warts, but don’t we all? Look what Trump accomplished against a horrific headwind! And DeSantis is the perfect running mate. I just hope they don’t do battle for the nomination. Trump will easily prevail, but we the people don’t need that battle right now.
Some number of days back I made a reference to “All About Eve”. DeSantis is Eve.
love, love, that movie
and, yes, the comparison to Eve is real
Na, orange unicorn, not purple.
DeSantis has been willing to stand up for many things that attracted the media’s ire, but he has not done much to investigate election fraud (and yes there is fraud in Florida!)
Being willing to investigate is such a no-brainer that we have to question whether he’s in on the fraud, like most of Congress Republicans. I want honest politicians first of all, Republican or Democrat – no point in having a dishonest politician who seems to be on your side; you never know where the lies will pop up.
He immediately tacked election fraud in HIS 2018 election by ousting the crooked Broward County lady Election Supervisor Snipes.
But RDS did NOTHING regarding the 2020 election fraud regarding Trump.
Fool me once,…now I see.
But wait, he just nabbed 22 people for 2020 election fraud 🙄 almost 2 years after the fact.
Uh huh. It is a start, but only a small insipid start.
Bravo^
Although ‘honest’ and ‘politican’ is like saying
AN HONEST THIEF,
or an HONEST LIAR.
🙂
If only Trump were not pushing the deadly injections that have killed millions of Americans and if only he had not appointed Christopher Wray to head the FBI and William Barr to head the DOJ and Mark Milley to head the Joint Chiefs.
Ever think about it from a different ‘ANGLE’
Perhaps Trump is EXPOSING THE ROT.
Trump has NEVER FORCED VACCINES, and whilst I don’t understand much of what he does, I rest well knowing he has AMERICA’S BEST INTEREST, he’s proven that.
Trump isn’t “pushing” the injections.
People in these comments crack me up and prove they don’t read or understand most of what Sundance writes and posts. They take out Trump, but allow you to have DeSantis and you think that’s the next best choice. It’s not a choice at all when you’re not allowed to have the choice you want but allowed to have another. In other words Deepstate made the choice for you. Until people figure out and realize that the reason you fight for Trump is it’s because they don’t want you to have him and that nothing else matters. Nothing will ever change
I completely agree. They are trying to take out Trump and DeSantis is what they are presenting as not only the next best choice but BETTER than Trump, and right now a whole lot of people believe it.
I see people on here ready to abandon Trump because he has “baggage”, the baggage created by the Dems to make people think twice about voting for Trump again. Great way to play right into the Dems’ hands.
Thank you^ BRAVO
It’s SELECTIONS, not ELECTIONS
The choice people ‘think’ they have is all an ILLUSION, hence FIX2020 or BUST.
Of course it’s a GOPe move, DeSantis is already bought! He needs GOPe money, Trump doesn’t! Don’t be gullible!
None of them will be willing to take on the Establishment/4th Branch, to drain the Swamp to the extent that it needs to be drained. I do not think Trump is perfect. Far from it. I just see him as the only instrument who is willing and might be able to make a dent.
LOL with Trump, there IS NO “Donors picked this guy or that guy”. That’s the exact same thing they did in 2016 and Trump FLATTENED them all with very little effort, and will do so again. He’ll win every single primary. EVEN FLORIDA HEAD TO HEAD VS. DESANTIS.
smh it’s like people just. don’t. get. the Trump phenomenon. Even now.
Musk on MAGA side? That’s hilarious.
Sundance will you be voting for Charlie Crist? I see your point but taking down Desantis now is not an option for us in Florida.
Sundance tweeted that he will be voting for DeSantis as governor.
Nobody is taking down DeSantis. Let him remain Florida Governor. If I were in Florida I would vote for him.
all of you, please read every word Sundance stated very slowly
perhaps some of the facts will sink in
meaning Nettahoney and her 28 up voters
and no shout out to the 1776 Project work.
Yes, and Moms for Liberty. Once you see the true ego-maniac the man is, you can’t UNsee it…
Hey, he’s America’s Governor! TopGov! The new face of the new GOP party! He can do everything all by himself! lol
“TopGov!” You’re killing me Smalls. Lol
Maybe because he is hoping to appeal to the average, MAGA-lite voter as well as the hardcore MAGA base. It does no good for ANY candidate to focus on a too-small-to-win size group of like-minded voters when trying to win an election.
Really. Where is the intelligence here? At some point, recognize that there are a good number of voters who are MAGA-minded and MAGA-valued but actually occupy themselves with other things like JOBS, FAMILIES, WORSHIP rather than just sitting online all day salivating over the latest Lin Wood, Roger Stone, Alex Jones BS.
I guarantee you that a majority of 2016/2020 Trump voters not only HAVE NO CLUE what the 1776 Project is or what the Moms for Liberty stand for, but also DONT GIVE A CRAP. They just want their country back..
And THOSE voters are who we need to appeal to and win, not the basement dwelling nutjobs who dont know how to win elections.
The majority of Trump voters would know what those groups are if the politicians who benefitted from their work would publicly acknowledge them.
I am a strident supporter of President Donald Trump.
I have heard of the 1776 Project, and I am a supporter of Moms for Liberty.
Is it the mark of a true-blue patriot candidate to give shout-outs to at least two patriotic organizations every time he or she makes a speech or statement?
I am thinking that for some, the litmus test to prove a person is worthy of the office they hold or seek is this: mention President Trump and a list of patriotic organizations every time they communicate to the public. This would be via microphone, press release, and/or social media.
If the above litmus test is not met to the satisfaction of some, then that office holder or office seeker is promptly declared to be: a sleazeball, a climber and a user, a swamp creature, an ego-maniac, a grave-dancer and a coat tail-grabber, and a late-payer of debt.
[Governor DeSantis is a “sleazeball”, some here have written…thus he is odious and contemptible (definition of a sleazeball). Really?]
Some of those who use the litmus test~as described above~consistently express themselves with multiple exclamation points. Shriek! Gasp!
It is my hope and prayer that we all calmly and attentively watch and read during the next two years.
Take time to ponder.
You describe the MAGA movement as a “too small to win size group?” Where have you been the last six years?
No ma’am, that is not what I said. I said the HARDCORE MAGA voters was too small a group to win. You know, the MAGA voters who know and actually care what the 1776 project is or what the Moms for Liberty stand for?
Personally, I wonder if people who think that group is large enough to win elections without the typical MAGA voter joining in have ever tried to get votes for PDJT or simply only associate with a handful of people in their real lives.
This is where MAGA voters must be astute enough to sidestep the posers and wannabes within GOPe and also the so-called “Conservative” news networks that historically lead us astray.
Their splitter strategy is very real.
I absolutely agree. A great many MAGA voters were union members who liked the Trump message and have no interest in politics or organizations that specialize in politics. Eliminate those and those like them and you cannot ever get enough votes to stop a future fraudulent election count.
Amen, Sista!
And sadly they’re to dumb to realize they won’t get their country back by voting for the Club approved DeSantis if and when they take Trump out.
Jeff Childers’ Coffee & Covid blog has also noted the oh-so-strange coincidental timing of Fauci’s departure, vaxx injury stat reveals, and the Blame Trump For His Vaccines cries:
https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/-coffee-and-covid-thursday-august-072?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1562525145603772417/pu/vid/484×270/dN6AojzrWIq0SONz.mp4?tag=12
Wait for them to deploy Tucker, the Deep State’s most valuable controlled opposition, to undercut PDJT as Tucker has carefully accumulated some good-will with his anti-covid vaccine stand. It’ll be a well-coordinated “blame Trump” campaign.
I think Tucker is too smart for that scenario.
Maybe all of you rabid Carlson haters should start hating Sundance too, because he/she seems to be featuring his monologues and interviews at least several times a week now.
He doesn’t say the right words now and then, or cover your pet issues enough? He’s the only one even talking about the evil left and their myriad crimes.
If you believe only the BadOrangeMan is perfect enough to lead this movement, then please throw out some suggestions as to who is and why. Remember, Trump will be pushing 80 in ’24, he’s obese, and such a public figure that there will be plenty of opportunities for the insane lefties to try to Breitbart him.
Other than Lois Lerner’s criminal targeting, the Tea Party largely failed because they had no bench of strong conservative candidates, often split the conservative votes in primaries and had no central coordination.
If something happens to Trump, who exactly is out there to lead this movement? In any case, he can’t do it by himself.
Trump needs to stop crowing about deadly vaccines. That’s obvious
I have grown weary of “Tucker Carlson is controlled opposition” dragged out at every opportunity.
Yes, of course folks decide if they like and trust someone or not.
If a body does not like or trust someone, stop listening to that person. And stop haranguing on that person you don’t like or trust to the rest of us.
We are savvy folk, able to make our own assessments.
Setting the “coattails”narrative of a DeSantis 2022 candidacy….
While controlled media questions if PT is a drag on the GOP.
Not gonna woo this America First MAGA voter.
Um, coattails really? No coattails, DeSantis ran unopposed. There was very little on the republican side to draw voters out. He and his team focused on the school board races. School board is Nonpartisan, no declared party.
There were no coattails, no claims to coattails, none. Instead there was an effort to get voters out to the polls to vote for school board. If such an effort had not been undertaken, mostly democrats would have voted and hence how you get liberal school boards. Most of the primaries on the D side were competitive and drew left leaning voters to the polls. Did you watch the interview??
Given Trump’s endorsement record, only far left nut cases are even trying to sell the Trump has lost his MOJO theory. I haven’t seen statistics lately, but I’d guess maybe 20% of the far left believe such a thing, could be 15%. Certainly nobody on the MAGA train believes that.
So why make an issue where one doesn’t exist? Nobody here doubts the power of Trump’s endorsement or his place atop the party. DeSantis didn’t even say the word coattails. Maybe it just was what it was. A governor seeing a problem and taking action, nothing more, nothing less.
He and his team focused on the school board races.
So that’s why on the day of the Mar-a-Lago raid Turning Point announced the DeSantis rallies in AZ, PA, and OH? And he went to NM too. And he went to MA to grab some cash from some hedge fund bazillionaires.
It is obvious you do not like or trust Govetnor DeSantis.
Your ramped up agitation on the topic of him has been made clear to the readers here.
Please consider not going into attack mode every time a reader enters a factual comment about Gov. DeSantis.
Are you new here? Have you seen the 5 or so articles Sundance published about DeSantis? And have you seen the comments posted by other people who are just as critical of DeSantis as I am? I suggest you read them.
WE’re in trouble if the guy can’t multi-task😟😟😟😟
You are obsessed with Turning Point USA. If you listened to Charlie Kirk you would know those events were planned for weeks, but sure it was some grand conspiracy.
Wait, I’ve got it! Charlie Kirk is the devil. Charlie Kirk is the puppet master and he holds the levers of the “big club”, aha! We’ve caught the tater, good work!
If this were the case, why is Little Ronnie running around the country holding rallies for TRUMP ENDORSED candidates when he still hasn’t won a governorship on his own yet. Couldn’t be more coattails than this.
Are all of Florida’s issues fixed? How about going around the STATE OF FLORIDA for a change talking to FLORIDA RESIDENTS instead of flying around the country?
Election reform is as crucial for Florida as it is everywhere else. I can’t help but wonder why Gov DeSantis has failed to address election integrity with his MAGA legislature seemingly ready to implement real reforms. Strike while the iron is HOT!
Sonya, Sonya, Sonya, he has been all over the state. This interview is about him criss crossing the state for school board candidates.
Alas, nothing will satisfy you short of DeSantis committing suicide and leaving behind a note that he just wasn’t MAGA enough.
Sonya you are a hater.
He hasn’t been to Ocala. Pretty big place to miss.
A quick search shows he was there in May, also in March and December of 2021. He could have been there other times, but those popped right up.
So is your beef he hasn’t been there this week? This month? What?
Thank you for wise assessment, Somebody.
Ok, DeSantis isn’t Trump.
He has his own style and his own approach. He obviously doesn’t have Trump’s private sector experience and isn’t as blunt and outspoken in his criticism of the entrenched DC bureaucracy. That hardly makes him the enemy. In fact they appear to share the same basic views on the role and function of government, and agree on 90% of domestic policy issues (DeSantis’ foreign policy is a bit of a mystery).
DC doesn’t fear DeSantis the way it fears Trump. He doesn’t ask the same questions. They could live with him. That’s the difference.
Because DeSantis isn’t MAGA America First. Wake up.
DeSantis doesn’t believe 2020 was stolen he doesn’t support Trumps 4-point immigration plan!!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_policy_of_Donald_Trump
DeSantis:
“ “I said that the morning after the [2020] election, everyone knows the results in Florida, but no one knows the results in about a dozen states. And we’re all waiting, and there’s ballot dumps and all this stuff.”
“That’s not the way to conduct an election.”
Florida supported Texas in its Supreme Court case against Pennsylvania.
And last week DeSantis was in Pennsylvania stumping for Mastriano, an outspoken critic of the 2020 election results.
Realistically what more do you expect?
Woah, woah, woah! Can’t have pesky facts getting in the way of a good emotional outburst! It might cause bruised egos.
Exactly!!
I understand 2020 was stolen, but the whole “it’s needs to be fixed before I vote again” stance is nonsense.
They stole the election and we can sit in the corner and pour or fight on all fronts: expose the truth, do our best to get someone to take action and most importantly find, support (campaign for/donate to) and vote for true MAGA candidates in primaries; however, we need to hold our nose and vote straight R in the general election while keep fighting every moment to get rid of the Rino’s.
Also, anyone who thinks some court is going to overturn the 2020 election at this point is a lunatic. That remedy went out the door January 19, 2021. I’m not saying a court couldn’t and be legally justified, I’m saying in practical application, regardless of the amount of fraud proven, they won’t toss a “president” who’s beeen in office nearly two years, the downstream ramifications are far greater than restoring the rightful victor (again, from a practical perspective, not a right v wrong perspective)
Speaking of lunatics:
“we need to hold our nose and vote straight R in the general election”
This isn’t 2012
The GOP is NOT my friend. They never were.
WHY was coattail boy Little Ronnie in PA stumping for already TRUMP ENDORSED Mastriano? If Florida in such perfect shape that he can take time away from his FLORIDA duties as Gov.? How about election integrity throughout the state?
Pressing questions that the Little Ronnie fan club doesn’t want to answer.
Because RD is VERY popular here in PA and we desperately need Mastriano to win as the alternative is awful.
You are sounding rather petty, Sonya. Gov DeSantis is shirking none of his duties in FL while happening to give a positive shout out to Mastriano. Shows he also endorses this DJT pick. Nothing more, nothing less. It also shows that he can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Thank you for facts and a cool head, BFD.
That’s a nothing statement.
Where is a clear statement saying the election was stolen.
Using wackopedia as a source?
On the topic if trump 4 point plan, yes.
I’ve had my doubts about DeSantis from that very first “build the wall” commercial. I still have the same fears that if he ever becomes Pres, he will become another Bush (pick any Bush). I dont consider him an enemy at all and I dont think many others here do either unless he does what Sundance is warning us that he might do. That is to try to cut the legs out from under Trump in the 2024 race. If he does that then he will become the enemy to me. I will gladly vote again for him as Gov, but if Trump decides to run and Ron does too, I will never vote for him again because he will be EXACTLY as trustworthy as any dem he runs against. I wont vote for the dem either, but I refuse to vote for another known two faced politician. He might not be one so I’m going to hold out judgement until all announce for 2024 to see if his face shows up in that crowd.
Now if Trump doesnt run and Ron does and Trump endorses him, I’ll be first in line to vote for him if I can.
Amen!
DeSantis does not have positive evidence of CROSSFIRE HURRICANE !!!!!!!
Sheesh~yelling and 7 exclamation points.
Positive evidence of the bombing of England by Germany during World War 2 can be found in multiple places online, and in multiple history books.
Specifically, the bombing and air raid sirens–the crossfire hurricane–that greeted Rolling Stones guitarist and songwriter Keith Richards at the time of his birth in 1943 Dartford, can be reviewed in Gardiner’s book “Wartime Britain”, and in Longmate’s book “How We Lived Then”.
And here is the classic for your ears:
There is plenty of positive evidence for Gov. DeSantis to have.
“They could live with him. That’s the difference.”
“Live with” him? More like CONTROL him.
We WANT them to fear him …
We NEED them to fear the.
Getting along with them spells death to the America we knew and loved.
If that’s DeSantis’ biggest selling point, then he’s not the right guy.
Correction:
Should be — “NEED them to fear HIM”
Please excuse poor editing.
WELL SAID
Bush gave you the patriot act. What do you think DeSantis will give you?
“DC doesn’t fear DeSantis the way it fears Trump. He doesn’t ask the same questions. They could live with him. That’s the difference.”
Well said, which is why MAGA & ULTRA MAGA can’t live with him as President.
Governor, yes, but not prez.
PETER PRINCIPLE.
How soon we forget. Two years ago, we were sailing along in spite of Covid and were ready to exit the entire episode. 75 million of us went out and voted for DJT with enthusiasm and great hope for the future, only to have it all stolen away by those who are now trying to destroy him, this country and the MAGA movement once and for all. DJT deserves another chance at the WH, if he wants it.
IMHO DeSantis should spend the next 4 years leading a coaliton of GOP governors to restore power to the states and local govts. If he succeeds at that, then he would be a shoo-in for POTUS. There is much serious work to be done at the state level. Our major cities lie in ruins and crime is rampant. And, with the influx of millions of illegals, I am afraid terror attacks will come soon with no local resources to fight them. Picture another 9/11 in NYC or Chicago now with the mayors & first responders they have now.
We are at an all hands on deck moment in this country.
Mary I think that is a great idea about a coalition of Governors. I really like that.
I am noticing that DeSantis enjoys the welcome mat at Tucker and Fox while for many months Trump is not seen, not invited. Trump devoted the last year to getting MAGA across the finish line, flying all over to rally for MAGA against an onslaught of RINO money and McConnell opposition in the primaries. Crickets from Fox. DeSantis is their guy.
Something weird is happening. There seems to be a coordinated effort to erase Trump –First Twitter and Facebook banned (erased) Trump, then Fox stops inviting him on to their shows. Now DeSantis is set a rather an Erase-Trump sort of record — He has gone weeks managing to avoid saying the name “Trump.” –even in his long rally speeches. That has to be a conscious effort to give speeches on America First or MAGA without letting the name “Trump” slip in.
Here’s a good tell. Anyone whose Twitter feed stays active. Anyone who is free of all that chaos swirling around Presdent Trump —is someone who is not a threat to the globalists or to Biden. Nice and peaceful around DeSantis isn’t it. And unlike Trump, the welcome mat is out for DeSantis at Fox.
I agree that a MAGA split would be all kinds of awful. Hopefully, DeSantis will stay in Florida. That said ….
We are responsible for a circular firing squad? Really?
DeSantis pivoted after the Raid. Showed us his chops for fighting the deep state – not.
Oh that guy over there having a problem with the DOJ/FBI? Raid? Setup? Not my problem. Wish him (no name) the best though. That’s our Top Gun against the globalist cabal and deep state? Just staying out of the fray. But he’s really good at sparring with reporters.
Here it is in a nutshell:
DeSantis has turned his back on President Trump when he most needs DeSantis to stand shoulder to shoulder with him.
–The Raid, the deep state attack, happened on DeSantis’ watch within Desantis’ state-– a brief tweet and then DeSantis acts like Trump’s problem is not his problem –Sure would like to share a fox hole with DeSantis –not.
DeSantis has the full power of state government at his disposal –he is able to file in court, bar cooperation w FBI, any number of actions that he could be taking to say to the FBI that political weaponization is a line that cannot be crossed in his state. Nope. Too hard to figure out how to help or what to say –so just staying out of the fray –that’s our MAGA warrior.
DeSantis is not true MAGA because he doesn’t have the backbone for it. Just staying out of the fray regarding the Raid you know.
Excellent response! 100% spot ON
Sorry for bold text in spots — too late to edit
Sometimes it is more important to recognize what is NOT said and NOT done rather than what is. Astute comment.
There seems to be a coordinated effort to erase Trump
This is exactly what’s happening. And DeSantis is fully on board with it, which is why I can state with 100% certainty that I will never vote for him in any GOP presidential primary, not 2024 or 2028 or any other year.
If God forbid President Trump chose not to run in 2024 for whatever reason(s), and your choices in the GOP presidential primary were DeSantis, Haley, Rubio, and Pence…which of the other three would receive your vote?
Which of the other three is the best MAGA candidate?
What if, with his decision not to run in 2024, Pres. Trump endorsed Ron DeSantis for President?
Since you will never vote for DeSantis, as you stated with 100% certainty, which of the other three would you vote for that Pres. Trump did not endorse?
Don’t think that you know who the candidates will be for 2024 if Trump announces that he won’t run.
For the 2016 election, the candidates didn’t even announce til Spring 2015. So expect to see buzz and then announcements in Spring 2023. And THEN, after everyone has announced, we can vet the candidates and figure out which one is the best. But do not assume that DeSantis is automatically the best, especially considering that he is being paid for and promoted by GOPEs right now ….
Hold on Serena, aDoozy can’t possibly know who is running in 2024 but you and others KNOW Ron DeSantis is running against Presudent Trump in 2024
How is it you all know all about 2024, but nobody else does?
I would decide that the day of the election.
THAT is the best thing! People who vote early should avoid it as much as possible. You just never know when some new information might be presented to cause you to change your mind. I understand that there are people who will be out of town or out of the country on election day, or are disabled or otherwise incapacitated, but anyone who can vote on election day should vote on election day.
Hopefully, we will have a MAGA candidate on deck if Trump doesn’t run. None of the 4 are MAGA.
DeSantis is like Obama, staying above the fray, suprised he hasn’t given the Oblameya response…. “Just learned about it in the newspapers and the evening news”
I see DeSantis as being similar to Obama, especially now during the grooming and promotion phase. But at least DeSantis has actually done something! Right off the top of my head I can list 5 or 6 things DeSantis has done while Florida Governor. I doubt that even the most hard-core Obama supporter could list even one thing Obama did prior to running for President despite being a State Senator and then gifted the US Senator spot.
The speedy ascent and nationwide promotion of DeSantis should raise a few red flags.
I can’t disagree with anything you said. I had started to become really enthusiastic about DeSantis – but many of you are making very salient points. It’s hard to ignore how often he’s failed to mention MAGA or Trump. It’s hard to ignore how often (and how freely) he’s appearing on Fox.
And the raid? No backbone there at all. He was almost as quiet as The Turtle. Nothing but a few grumbles – and then moving on to fundraising. Now that doubt has been sown, he’s appearing more and more like the GOPe pick to defeat Trump. They’re going sell him as “Trump-ism without Trump”… which is just a closet RINO.
You got it! Very well said.

Best yet analysis.
Thank you.
Anyone who refuses to see, wants to stay blind.
Rs have a way of shooting themselves in the foot. I want RDS to win a second term, but I never want to se him in DC. Remember, he was congressman from 2013 – 2018. Did you ever hear his name. Oh, he did vote for TPP. Yah. He did do that.
Did you ever hear congressman DeSantis supporting President Trump from 2016-2018? I didn’t.
But, he’s no MTG. He’s no fighter. HA. Does he even own a gun?
He’s a McCarthy, or any other name you can think of. but not a Gaetz or MTG, because he sold out for $$$ to GOPe groomers/donor in Nantucket.
MAGA didn’t leave RDS.
RDS left MAGA, if he ever truly was MAGA to begin with.
Not to rain on your parade Mainecoon, but congressman DeSantis did support candidate and then President Trump. Congressman DeSantis was on the judiciary committee and was active in trying to get to the bottom of the Russia hoax and all that that entailed. Congressman DeSantis was a founding member of the Freedom caucus.
You may have missed my earlier post where I pointed out that at one time Congressman DeSantis was a treeper. Yes that’s right he was one of us and I believe it was Matt Gaetz that outed him after Gaetz had been outed. The entire Freedom caucus read and posted here. Ron DeSantis was in fact one of us.
But hey, why let pesky facts get in the way of trashing someone.
Yes!
and there is that commercial of DeSantis in a flight suit
The GOPe sponsored “Troll chaff team” is out early this morning and flying about in support of XX.
Keep an eye on the sky …….. they aren’t known for their graceful landings nor telling the truth.
Too high, too fast, never make it aboard ship; wave off, wave off.
Oh that poor bird! Is it the mate to the one sitting on the ground? I love wildlife, that actually brings tears to my eyes. 🙂
I urge everyone to re-read Sundance’s articles about DeSantis. (https://theconservativetreehouse.com/?s=DeSantis) They’re all great but this is probably my favorite: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/08/12/the-managing-of-desantis-five-days-in-the-bunker-and-a-new-press-secretary/
It’s very important to not be blind to the tactics of the DeSantis promotion team. Do not mistake DeSantis for MAGA or Tea Party, the two great political movements he leveraged to win his political offices. Now he’s being managed and promoted by GOPEs.
If you think DeSantis is better than Trump or “plan B” to Trump, ask yourself why you think that. There’s been a tremendous amount of DeSantis-promoting lately, are you really being objective or are you the victim of slick political marketing? Other Governors have also been doing great things for their citizens but suddenly DeSantis is being heavily-promoted as “America’s Governor” and “Top Gov” (barf).
Can anyone state a single amazing thing that DeSantis did in his 5 years in Congress? Trump is probably the biggest reason DeSantis is now Florida Governor, and DeSantis eagerly advertised his connection to Trump in 2018 before that election, but now is completely silent about Trump. He’s been Governor for only 3 years but already very obviously running for President, not just a plan B to Trump but pushing Trump aside and climbing over him while Trump deals with yet another horrific act of persecution by the Dems IN DESANTIS’ STATE.
I will never vote for DeSantis in any GOP presidential primary and I hope he never wins the nomination. Let him be Florida Governor, that’s probably fine.
I have disagreed with some of your posts about the merits of holding one’s nose to vote for GOPe candidates in general elections, but on this point today, fka Serena, I do agree with you and believe you are spot on.
Same here!
Thank you for taking the time to write and post links to SD’s relevant posts on this topic. I agree with your analysis. I would add that RDS was a FL congressman from 2013 – 2018. I never heard his name mentioned once. I never heard him ever publicly support President Trump from 2016-2018. He’s had no opposition in FL. House/Senate – R. He’s been a good gov, and needs to focus on that race or Crist with the GOPe will pull that gov seat right out from under his arse. Also, he won’t be elected prez either. That ain’t happening. He’ll have his Cruz RNC moment.
He really has made a very wrong turn in order to get $$$ backing. It’s so blatant. Going to Nantucket weekend after the RAID. Ed Henry covered it.
It’s a hard fact to accept, but…..
MAGA didn’t leave RDS.
RDS left MAGA, if he ever was deeply MAGA/AF to begin with. The words MAGA, AF and Trump never cross his lips.
I’m fairly certain I would never vote for RDS for president either. I’m only voting for 45. He has all the proven qualifications. Sadly, RDS didn’t prove he was a fighter in congress and he hasn’t had to fight as governor with R House/Senate. If he won’t fight, it really makes him a loser.
He will not win the presidency. Never. Not in 2024 anyway.
Going to Nantucket weekend after the RAID
The optics are awful!
It’s time for DeSantis to put up or shut up.
DeSantis needs to answer the question:
Do you wish a 2nd term as governor of Florida or are you running for POTUS ?
You cannot have both.
All the DeSantis supporters on this thread seem to believe it is just okay to hide their head in the sand and delay knowing the answer.
Well, sorry but we Floridians need to know before we vote in November.
I CHOOSE not to be fooled again.
Lol, so it’s Crist for you if he wants to run for President?
You need to develop some powers of discernment.
Crist will be ramping up his senate campaign. He has tried and failed multiple times, but it’s clear that’s where he wants to be
I’m curious since DeSantis fails the MAGA purity test how these idiots think Charlie Crist scores on the MAGA purity test.
Just curious: What if DeSantis is running for governor now, and for president in 2028? Is that OK? I want to make sure no one is getting fooled again.
“Fool me once, shame on… you. Fool me… you can’t get fooled again.”
Sure
I want a commitment DeSantis wants to be Florida’s governor for the next 4 years.
What would that commitment look like?
An explicit statement that he is not running for President in 2024.
That statement would be foolhardy to make at this point since there is no knowledge of whether DJT is running for 2024 POTUS.
If DJT, for whatever reason is not running in 2024, Ron will be a formidable Candidate. And IMHO has every reason to run.
Running for governor and not running for president.
Like the statement that is at the end of his campaign ad?
For Governor of Florida it is a no brainer to vote for DeSantis over Crist.
For President in 2024, I think it is too soon to get worked up about the race until those running have declared themselves.
Sorry, I don’t hide my head in the sand.
Good you’ll need to keep your head on a swivel if Charlie Crist becomes Governor. Good to know you’re prepared.
I’m not “worked up” about the 2024 election (I’ll be happy if the USA is still standing by then) but thanks to Sundance my suspicious cat stands at the ready.
Hokey smoke, Sparky…thank you for your common sense.
Thank you for not labeling some commenters as “victims with their heads in the sand” (if they don’t slam bash and boot DeSantis right now).
DeSantis has already, in actions if not words, started running for President.
I’m fine with him remaining Florida Governor. I don’t want him to be President.
fka: Has Governor DeSantis announced he is running for President?
Just asking for a friend who supports Governor DeSantis for Governor in 2022 and PDJT for President in 2024 🙂
He hasn’t announced and I think he probably can’t yet because of FEC rules. I think it would be quite complex to be running a state campaign and a federal campaign at the same time. But he just went to NM, AZ, PA, OH, and MA earlier this month which obviously was done to present him as a national candidate, and his PR time is putting out all sorts of talking points about DeSantis being the new face of the new GOP party, “America’s Governor”, a better candidate than Trump, etc.
His PR team, I meant to write
I agree, Sparky! And at this point in time, we should all be backing Ron as Gov.
Just like 2016, there are going to be a lot of Republicans running for President in the primaries. This is a good thing because it will flesh out the winners and losers and will give Trump a political workout…… which at this point, he needs. Rather than talking about the stolen 2020 election, he needs to talk to America about his plan to get inflation under control, the border under control, the Deep State under control, etc. I want to hear Trump promise that Ivanka and Jared will sit out his second term. I also want to hear from DeSantis. I want the best candidate to become the Republican President come January 2025. If DeSantis turns out to be another Jeb! or Scott Walker or Rick Perry, we will all know soon enough.
His plan?
MAGANOMICS with a few more twists, I guess.
You might want to hear 45 disparage his family, but not only is that a disgusting thing to ask and expect him to do, but he loves his family and would never do that.
That was such a good term, MAGANOMICS, I almost forgot about it!
I don’t think anyone else will run if Trump does. Or it will just be the losers, like Liz Cheney, who isn’t really running but probably just taking as campaign donations her payback for being an anti-Trump witch.
Trump is already a proven winner, I don’t need him to do anything but announce his candidacy. I do hope he keeps Jared and Ivanka out though, they were not helpful at all and I do believe Jared is one of the reasons Trump “lost” (failed to overcome the Dem margin of theft) in 2020.
They build him up as a PDJT alternative….only to take him down in the future when his usefulness is over.
Good interview. DeSantis is a very likable, down to earth guy and a great Governor. On a personal level, I like him much more than Trump, to be honest.
Cleaning the school boards is extremely important and I am sure millions of parents in Florida appreciate the result of his team’s efforts.
Why do you like him more than Trump?
It’s too early to make an assessment of whether or not President Trump or Governor DeSantis can be elected in 2024. I assume that most here want to support a candidate that can be elected.
I suggest people reserve judgment until after the midterm elections. If the candidates President Trump endorsed do well, especially in the swing state, that will certainly add to any confidence that President Trump still has the support of mainstream Americans to be elected in 2024.
In the meantime, find out what positions Governor DeSantis holds on foreign policy, trade, use of military– all the issues that governors don’t deal with. He certainly has shown pretty good judgment on social and health issues affecting his state.
No, I’m done with voting for someone who “can be elected”.
We did that in 2000 and 2004 and 2008 and 2012…
Were any of those candidates good for America and Americans other than the 1%?
Magnitudes better than the Democrat.
Here again I think my strategy would work.
Try to oust the RINOs during the primaries, but in the general elections vote Republican regardless.
If we all did this we wouldn’t need to worry about electability.
So do you want Charlie Crist to win the governor ship of Florida?
I keep hearing the same song playing from FKA and others here….”Burning Down The House”.
Trump and only Trump…no one exists that can save us ever…EVER.
I hope he still can, but everyone better be prepared for the inevitable. The cabal has lined up MULTIPLE attacks with deep Lawfare ramifications. I retain hope for our President, but many of you are not recognizing the gravity of what is happening.
Only if Desantis decides to try to take on Trump in 2024, otherwise we’ll have to wait on 2028 to see how the GOPe crowd has molded Ron by then to make a more informed choice about him. He’s not the enemy until, well, he is.
We have no idea whether trump will be running in 2024 at this time.
many of you are not recognizing the gravity of what is happening
We recognize the gravity.
I see former Trump supporters abandoning him because of the “baggage” created by the Dems and RINOs. Is that how we should operate? Just roll over when they attack our best candidate?
Good points Fka Serena,
The media and some very active trolls want us to believe that President Trump’s support is waning, lol.
The reality on the ground suggests the opposite. Support for Trump has soared higher than ever after the Raid.
Polls show a huge jump in support. There’s more enthusiasm than ever for President Trump to be the nominee. Post Raid, donations to President Trump were huge, setting records. Trump endoresement remains gold in politics. The strongest MAGA candidates performed well in primaries. Post Raid look at NY 22 for example. Trump is at the height of support.
Heck if the doomers are right that this time for sure they’ve got him, then PDJT could run from jail with even greater support (which is legal and constitutional) He’d likely win in 2024, pardon himself and move into the White House. We can’t be scared off by sketchy wails that this time they’ve got him –or “the situation is very grave.” Grave situations will amplify us to stand up for PDJT and other MAGA being sttacked.
Doomers won’t work to discourage us, won’t work to make us passivvely accept a RINO. We’ve grown as a movement since 2015. We’re wiser and more determined. And the real story is that we are winning.
this time for sure they’ve got him
🙂
Hey, I forgot about pardoning himself! He could totally do that.
I haven’t abandoned him, my bank account is proof of that. I fully support President Trump and think he’s the best choice for 2024 if he runs.
I simply can’t abide all the trashing of Ron DeSantis based on rumor, innuendo and hunches. Governor DeSantis is my Governor and I fully intend to vote for him in November.
MAGA cannot be about only Trump. If MAGA is to succeed we need a LOT of people on our team. People in Congress, in state houses, in Governor’s mansions, in Mayor’s offices, on school board, on city councils. It has to be a movement and it won’t be successful if we eat our own.
Totally agree
Folks who appreciate DeSantis are not abandoning Trump however folks who appreciate Trump here appear to be abandoning DeSantis just as he is engaged in a race for governor. It appears to me that the Democrats work is being done for them right here right now as there is no presidential election at this time.
At this time I support DeSantis for governor of Florida and President Trump in 2024.
We who’ve lived a while in Florida realize that Charlie is utterly without honor, morals, honesty. Yes, I realize those are the traits of many politicians but progs have taken it to an art form.
And those who don’t like Desantis please recall the dirtbag he beat. You think Andrew Gillum would have been better?
I can’t speak for the others but I’m OK with DeSantis being Florida Governor. I just don’t want another bought-and-paid-for President, especially one who shuns the people who put him in office in the first place.
Peter’s Principle.
Great governor.
Not ready or equipped to be president.
He better get his arse back to FL and campaign in FL NOT AZ, PA nor OH or he’ll lose to Crist, which might be the uniparty plan — give him $$$$$, do the national campaign grooming stick, get him distracted and leaving the state, while Crist slams his constituents on the economic issues that SD feature is the last photo.
Not rocket science, folks, and DeSantis can thank Sundance for bringing this little issue to his attention.
You “Only Trumpians”crack me up..I mean DeSantis is a Trump Guy.. supported by Trump..and he evn has stumped for Trump selected candidates…. BUT OH THE HORROR…. somebody mentiond DeSantis as a possible 2024 candidate…and now DeSantis is a Swamp monster and is a close second to the Turtle in sliminess… you guys need a reality check big time
Hold your horses.
“RDS is a Trump guy..supported by Trump..and he even has stumped for Trump selected candidates”…
BUT, you couldn’t write that RDS ever supported Trump (as congressman 2016-2018, because he didn’t verbally do so, like Nunez, Gaetz, Jordan, Meadows) nor could you write that RDS ever stumped for Trump (because he never did).
This is the rub.
Not true
Yes, it is.
I think you should reread his post as you appeared to have changed his words
His post did not say he stumped for Trump
Hey mewekalvin … do some searches and find out when was the last time DeSantis mentioned Trump’s name or “MAGA”. I know he did in 2018 when he was running for Florida Governor with Trump’s endorsement.
And listen to the Glenn Beck interview of DeSantis, particularly at the end when Beck asks DeSantis to describe his (DeSantis’) working relationship with Trump. Start at 48:54 at the link below. And then report back, how many times does DeSantis say Trump’s name? And does he actually answer Beck’s question?
https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/the-glenn-beck/ep-150-ron-desantis-vs-ucj6s3bLaZe/
Why are you listening to Glenn NeverTrumper Beck? Glenn “Cheetos” Beck? Glenn “Ted Cruz is George Washington” Beck? Glenn “teddy bears and soccer balls for unaccompanied minors” Beck?
On a prior day someone mentioned this DeSantis interview with Beck, so I looked for it and listened to it. I think Beck is an idiot.
If you want to see it: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/08/14/after-six-days-of-silence-ron-desantis-surfaces-in-arizona-during-tpusa-rally-for-kari-lake-and-blake-masters-830pm-et-livestream/comment-page-3/#comments
How many times someone recites Trump’s name would not determine who I vote for, in this case the question should be what has DeSantis done for the people of Florida in terms of the MAGA agenda.
Ron DeSantis net worth $300k
Compare to any other politician. Wealth accumulaion in politics is a sign of abusing authority, in other words, that means you are wicked.
Money is not his love and that is fine by me.
Ron Desantis may be a rare altruistic patriot.
https://www.businessinsider.com/ron-desantis-net-worth-is-just-319000-2022-6
The most outside outsider who ever outsided? Hmmm… Could be…
His personal net worth is $300k. But his campaign fundraising has amassed the most money of any Governor. Let’s be real here, he will be running for President and that’s why so many bazillionaires are donating.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-08-22/desantis-taps-donors-griffin-tudor-jones-in-142-million-haul
DeSantis, running unopposed in Tuesday’s primary as he goes for a second term, has amassed $142 million from the start of 2021 through Aug. 5 this year from donors including the hedge fund billionaires Ken Griffin and Paul Tudor Jones. […] Unlike Trump, who relies largely on a network of small-dollar donors to fund his post-presidential political operations, DeSantis has raised the bulk of his money from a small number of wealthy donors writing him giant checks. That gives him plenty of money for his re-election effort in Florida, where laws allow unlimited contributions.
https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2022/08/florida-governor-ron-desantis-break-gubernatorial-fundraising-record/
Amid rumblings of a potential 2024 presidential bid, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) political operation raised $165.6 million since 2019, the year he took office. DeSantis already set a new record for gubernatorial fundraising without candidate self-financing and is about $11 million away from raising more money than any gubernatorial candidate in recent decades as of Aug. 5.
They thought we were stupid.
Sadly trump will get screwed because he is on the wrong side of the vaccine issue now. He pushed operation warp speed and now the dems are blaming him for vaccine injuries saying he had the drug companies cut corners so he could have the shot to help
His re-election chances.
DeSantis has been on the right side of this issue from the start. The dems will now blame every death and vaccine injury on trump and because he supports them so…this will appear to be his fault (even though the evil dems and elite are thrilled with the deaths and injuries and would have pushed the shot if they had been in trumps place) they will turn him into vaccine hitler. He should get out in front of this issue pronto because I think they just found his Achilles heel.
Sadly trump will get screwed because he is on the wrong side of the vaccine issue now.
DeSantis has been on the right side of this issue from the start.
Huh? Both were advising people to get vaccinated.
https://www.news4jax.com/news/local/2021/07/21/desantis-these-vaccines-are-saving-lives/
“These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality,” DeSantis said during a news conference in St. Petersburg. “I can tell you that we’re going to end up having over 95% of folks that end up seriously ill from this point on are going to be people who are not vaccinated. And so, that’s the single most important thing that people can understand.”
DeSantis addressed vaccine hesitancy, saying that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the small risk of side effects.
Three MAGA candidates for Sarasota School Board backed by Governor DeSantis were elected and flipped the board from being far Left to a MAGA School Board?
How dare the best Governor in America support and campaign for MAGA candidates.
Further proof that he is the enemy of MAGA and PDJT. s/c
Someone please report this transgression to the Governor DeSantis Hate Club.
Another piece of evidence requiring Governor DeSantis to be kicked out of the MAGA tent. s/c
The best Governor in America? 🙂
5 simple words DeSantis won’t say:
” the 2020 election was stolen”.
His money backers won’t let him say it.
DeSantis is controlled. He isn’t America First MAGA.
What amazes me is people who think others are going to say “Oh, okay. I will now put aside everything I have observed, heard, researched and experienced for the past few years because a stranger online said “DeSantis is not America First Maga.”
Can we get anymore sounding like a dim strategist who has no respect for the brains of MAGA voters and thinks they’re easily fooled than that? haha. Prob so, but people will only laugh at the transparent attempts to sway them. Um, I know it’s in vogue with you guys to pretend we’re all rubes with 75 IQ’s, but just t’aint so!
Sorry. Only democrats ignore their own experience and believe what someone tells them (sorry, Dr. Faucci.)
I would say the DeSantis supporters are ignoring many pieces of evidence.
We have seen this happen before, most notably with Jeff Sessions. I don’t know if you were around here during the Sessions recusal debacle but there were plenty of people who were adamant that his recusal would lead to something good and that Mueller might actually be on our side. They did not want to believe that Sessions was weak or a traitor. Mounting evidence finally compelled them to accept it.
Question for the newborn DeSantis haters: At what point of this interview was he asked about the Mar-a-Lago smash and grab and when was he supposed to bring it up?
Maybe some of you should call his office and put some pressure on him to say more about this.
Charlie Crist just said the equivalent of Obiden saying (paraphrase?) if you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black. Ugh!
Where did you see that?
I wonder how much $$ the Republican Governors Association has donated to GOP candidate Darren Bailey? Ken Griffin’s preferred candidate, Richard Irvin, lost the primary to Bailey, and now Griffin is moving his business to Florida. I wonder if Griffin was willing to donate any money to Bailey.
I found the Illinois contributions database. I don’t see any contributions from Griffin or the Republican Governors Association to Darren Bailey. It’s actually possible to flip Illinois Governor seat back to red, but I guess the GOPEs aren’t interested because Bailey is MAGA.
Serena….I had to delete your post regarding the Florida Elections Database, because it was blowing out the margins on the thread. Anything containing “preformatted text” will do so.
Thanks for doing the work and for posting. I will have to look up info on the top three donors.
If you’re interested, OpenSecrets.org is another resource –it has funding details on all political ccandidates across the country –at least for Congress. You’re doing important work — I recall that Callifornia had a referendum years ago that never got before the voters that would have required Senators and congressmen from California to wear a label on their clothing showing their top donors names. Wouldn’t that be helpful!
Perfect Regime play….RDS pulls out of Gov race to run for President thus allowing Charlie Crist to win. At the very least RDS may not pull out but be so distracted by a Presidential run that he takes his eye off the Florida Governor’s race ball and barely squeaks by in Florida.
Remember Crist is a former Republican not just from the RINO Bush camp, but even more gross, the Michael Steele crowd. The Steele crowd aren’t just RINO’s, they’re open Democrats now.
They live for approval from Joe Scarborough and did many TV interviews on that show 10-15 years ago.
If you don’t think this is a “thing” realize Lardass Larry Hogan (King of Crab Cakes, Maryland Gov) was at the Iowa State Fair last week. While he stuffed himself full of lard, he was there for a possible future campaign attempt.
Larry Hogan (and people like Mike DeWine) are flat out Democrats with an “R” next to their name and don’t hide it. Very similar to Pierre Delecto aka Mittens Romney.
I believe that the governors race is right now whereas a presidential race is two years from now, I could be wrong.
this is all getting way over the top! I realize there have been decades of corruption, decades!! People have been murdered, maimed, arrested, thrown in jail throughout this country, civil rights violated it goes on and on and there is no one listening out there! No one is doing a thing about any of it! I realize the price of Freedom is high. I find myself fighting on a daily basis which truly is nothing new to me. The injustice I am seeing done to others on a daily basis is breaking my heart. There has to be a day of reckoning, My God has to be!
To those who don’t like to hear any disparaging remarks about DeSantis please consider…. We can either sit back quietly and put up with what appears to be DeSantis’ going along with the McConnell / Rino plan for us. Or, we can start complaining about what we see and CALL HIM out NOW with the hope he will wake the f.. up!
If we do nothing, like good little controlled Rino’s, sit back and make excuses for him and not say something, he will just keep going down that path.
“… sit back and make excuses for him …”
I don’t see that the census says to make excuses for anything he has done for the state of Florida and the citizens of Florida, who is his main priority. I think he has accomplished quite a bit for MAGA in Florida.
Basically I don’t think he has done anything that Trump himself hasn’t done. Right now Trump hasn’t even declared that he is running and if he doesn’t run, For whatever reason, I don’t see any one else, who is MAGA, who could win a presidential primary or general election other than DeSantis.
Correction: I don’t see that DeSantis has to make any excuses….
The RINORATS are desperate to destroy Trump … and are willing to destroy DeSantis in the process.
DeSantis is not ready for the Presidency … he will be another bush43.
I have no problem with DeSantis being in a primary with President Trump. In fact now I’m starting to think it’s a desirable idea. There is the possibility that even if President Trump is running, which he still has not announced, the attacks on him may be so great as to even cause a problem while he is running in the primary. I think it is best For the MAGA team to have back up running in the primary in case something happens and there is no MAGA candidate left to choose from.
Perhaps someone here can think of someone else, who would have a possibility of winning in the primary and the general election, that is MAGA?
I think this DeSantis versus Trump premature conversation has already split the MAGA Voters here and may have already succeeded in reducing votes for DeSantis in the Florida election, doing the Democrats work for them.
I live in Florida Desatis has done a great job Charlie Crist was a horrible Governor of Florida. I have no Problem s with Desantis
