In an effort to keep the Daily Open Thread a little more open topic we are going to start a new daily thread for “Presidential Politics”. Please use this thread to post anything relating to the JoeBama Administration and Presidency.
“This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.”
“But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.”
This thread will refresh daily and appear above the Open Discussion Thread.
Whenever the possibility presents, throw sand into the machinery…

“Go woke, go broke” was never and still is not true. Corporations were willing to lose millions of dollars to virtue signal and it wasn’t until someone like DeSantis began confronting them with political power that they changed their tune.

DEVELOPING: Three Democrat St. Louis City Leaders Indicted by Federal Grand Jury For Taking Cash Bribes

TX. Primary in June.

Tucker Carlson show today Thur June 3
Opening segment has an excellent review of how proposed gun legislation essentially will ban guns without saying so
Examples
— one measure limits capacity of magazines – proposal is 5 rounds max
— some guns come standard with magazines that will exceed, example of 9mm Glock(?) comes w/ 15-round magazine
— one measure makes guns illegal that don’t have proper serial numbers on “essential parts”
— Merritt Garland makes the call on what are essential parts
— sounds like many guns could be illegal even if they have one serial number — I doubt most guns have serial numbers on more than one part of the gun – enlighten me, gun folks
Worth a watch, at any rate, don’t argue with me if I got details wrong, just watch the show / clip
In general all legally manufactured and sold firearms typically have only one serial number engraved/stamped or on a metal plate that is integral to the firearm, usually on the frame of a pistol or on the lower receiver of rifle (like an AR-15).
Some older, made in Germany SIG Sauer pistols had the weapon’s s/n engraved on the frame, the slide and the barrel.
Hope this helps!
FJB!!
thx, Rob, exactly the kind of answer I was looking for
so if they decide there are 3 “essential” parts on a type of gun, any guns with just 1 serial number will be illegal … just by them saying so if they can pass a law to that effect
my fentanyl rant for today
1- Everyone on TV says “fenta-NOL” … where’s the “NOL” in “nyl”? I ask you now …
2- Big hauls of fentanyl are described as “enough to kill 3 million people … 5 million people … etc”
Can you frikken law-enforcement and media dunderheads knock that the f off, please?
You think a lightbulb’s not going to go off in some terrorist’s noggin and he’ll dump a couple kilos in his closest drinking-water reservoir?
I tell ya, if people start keeling over in some town, first thing you lab guys wanna do is push a sample of the local tap water thru your gas chromatograph / mass spectrometer set to detect fentanyl
gnomesayin’ ?
that is all
rant off
you may resume your activities
Agree with both your points. Since when does a “y” sound like an flat “o”?? As for the use of fentanyl as a bioweapon? It’s a matter of time.
Nimrodman,
I have been drinking distilled water for the last 8 months. I decided that there are way too many chemicals and heavy metals in tap water, spring water, etc…
Thanks for the thought and the heads up, though. All of my extended family drink tap water, including my grands.
Do you add any minerals back in or adjust pH or anything?
I know that atmospheric carbon dioxide will dissolve in water and form carbonic acid, making it mildly acidic
But many volatile compounds will pass through a water distiller.

… canned remarks from behind a presidential lectern or virtual events held in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next door to the White House, complete with digital backgrounds
“World’s most interactive man and we’re going to have him conduct the presidency from the set of Jeopardy,” one person familiar with White House operations told CNN.
As my bedtime approaches:
Doug Ford just won a huge majority in the Ontario Provincial election. He got twice the # of seats of the other parties combined.
The Ontario Liberals ran a very strange looking Party insider as their leader named Steven Del Duca. I haven’t the energy to search out photos of this oddball. The Liberals, with 8 seats, no longer enjoy official Party status.
It has long struck me, the Party insiders who drive the parties but have so little impact on the public. FDR obeyed a strange little man named Louis Howe. Eleanor was more in her thrall, but Howe guided them both.
Many politicians – Bill Clinton, Reagan, Justin Trudeau – have obvious appeal. But the parties have insiders who drive the machine for no obvious reason.
The Canadian Conservatives followed a frankly ugly man named Hugh Segal. He was unelectable, but became a Senator – another Canadian oddity.
And Canadian Liberals followed a most unpleasant man named Gerald Butts. He was driven out to save Justin Trudeau.
The ugly side of Democracy is so exposed.
Doug Ford isn’t really a Conservative siding with Twinkle Socks?
