A major win for police union members in the Chicago area. Citing an irrevocable harm that has no possibility for reversal if enacted, a judge has blocked the City of Chicago from enforcing a vaccine mandate for unionized police members.
CHICAGO – “A Cook County judge on Monday suspended the city of Chicago’s policy requiring that all of its police officers be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the year.
The ruling is a major victory for police unions, who have held that the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate violates their collective bargaining agreements. Judge Raymond Mitchell ruled Monday that the mandate should be halted for police officers until those complaints can be settled in arbitration.

“This risk is even higher if thousands of students are in classes in the schools. Given the course of the pandemic over the last year, where public officials have consistently underestimated the dangers of the disease, it would be difficult to imagine how anyone could argue that such a belief is not reasonable.
“Yet the District has unilaterally determined that its schools are ‘safe enough’ and ordered teachers and other employees to return to the school buildings to perform their duties.”

So if I understand this, the ruling recognizes that vaccines poses a threat of “irrevocable harm” and that the mandate should have been developed using union collective bargaining agreement.

They should be striking and forcing their unions to also challenge this.
The “irreparable damage” part of the ruling certainly can be applied to every human on earth who is being forced to get the jab or face loss of employment and income. Which class of people are ABLE to undo the damage caused by the jab? It does not matter whether one is working under a collective bargaining agreements or not. The fact that a quackcine cannot be undone stands alone as a fact for everyone.
Unless the judge specifically stated in his ruling that it “.. does not impact other city workers, or other parts of the policy. I think the judges ruling does not recognize a threat from the vaccine.
He is saying the mandate cannot be enforced until after arbitration, and then only if it is legally allowable under the language of the police union contracts.
If a person gets vaxed, then at a later time, arbitration deems it not allowed for the mandate to be enforced, the point is moot, the person is already vaxed.

If the judge thought there was a threat from the vaccine, he would block it for everyone, not just those with certain legal language in their union contracts.

To me, the only positive in this story, is the Judge pointing out how irreversible the jab is.
Beyond that, the mandate being put in abeyance, because it violates collective bargaining, rather than say,..because it violates Federal law, the Constitution, the Geneva Convention, and internationally recognised (until recently) standards of human rights and decency, is pitiful.

I’m not sure how wolverine this move is by the judge. It has nothing to do with the merits of a vaccine mandate, only that the mandate is a breach of the CBA. So it’s a technicality of their labor agreement. It only covers anyone in the police union. There’s nothing about exemptions or natural immunity or the fact that the mandate is unconstitutional. It’s a labor agreement issue.
How sad that we’re at a point that it becomes a “major win” for anyone to be granted rights they shouldn’t have to be granted, apply for, ask for, beg for, request, or sue for.

I was in a presentation today on the COVID shots put on by the leadership in a certain agency. Some of the presentation was given by a Captain commissioned in the Public Health Service. His qualifications is as a Physicians Assistant.
To say the presentation was a disgrace is a serious understatement.
During the presentation, they flippantly described 10,857 deaths among those who were fully vaxxed. Of that, they dismissed it as 9,172 who were 65+ years old.
He repeatedly claimed it was the safest vaccine in history with many millions of doses given, and cited un-named studies as the basis of his claim.
Un-named studies or some CDC recommendation was cited throughout.
Another bullet point was to state the unvaxxed were 5 times more likely to test positive for COVID. He also said those who had COVID were 5 times more likely to get COVID again if they were still unvaxxed.
VAERS was discussed, but dismissed as unvetted data because anyone could report adverse events to it. No numbers were cited, nothing much was said about it other than it was unvetted data. That IGNORES the history of VAERS reported medicines that have resulted in medicines being pulled from the market.
He claimed some other reporting system was more reliable because only doctors and nurses reported to it, but he never said what that system was or provided a link to it.
On Natural Immunity, he claimed natural immunity from COVID waned after 90 days, but supposedly if someone were vaccinated, they showed better immunity for 6-8 months after being vaxxed.
They discussed Myocarditis events in those younger than 30 years old, and he claimed there were less than 15 cases per million doses given…as if that should make things OK. He claimed those diagnosed with Myocarditis RELATED TO THE VACCINE (as if young people are diagnosed with it for many other reasons), most were released from the hospital in 1-2 days, and 100% were discharged to home. There was NOTHING said about the long term effects in either group.
2 of the most shocking things I have ever heard were at the end of the presentation. One was in response to a question, and one was the agency head just spouting off.
A question was asked where a person could get the only FDA approved vaccine, Comirnaty. This supposed public health official commissioned as a Captain in the US Public Health Service acted like he had never heard of it. One of the facilitators had to spell it for him, and misspelled it. He then tried to claim the person needed to ask their Primary Care provider for it, and suggested it may not be available in all areas yet.
If he has been following this nonsense at all over the past several months, he has heard of Comirnaty and tried to play stupid.
The alternative is that he actually did not know the name of the only FDA approved clotshot.
The other shocking moment was when this agency head said he had been working in DC since the Reagan administration, and he had seen 3 significant events in that time that changed the way DC worked.
Disgusting and disgraceful is putting it mildly.
This is a shell game being played between the courts and the mayors, governors and Brandon. Those municipalities and agencies that are going to implode because of fired employees are being bailed out by the judges to buy more time.
While it eases the CPD situation it clearly gives breathing room to mayor beetlejuice.
