If the shooting officer first kicked her in the face real hard while she was momentarily down with the knife instead of side-stepping her which permitted her to get up and continue her attempted murder rampage, it would have been completely justified and removed the subsequent need to kill her.

But then the officer most certainly would have been (unjustifiably) fired although he saved a life.

Look closely at that photo. It’s what Columbus, Ohio, police Officer Nick Reardon was looking at a split second before he fired his pistol. The fat girl in blue jeans — 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant — had a kitchen knife in her right hand and was about to stab the woman in pink. In the parlance of cops, that’s called a “good shoot,” but the liberal media headline is not “HERO COP SAVES WOMAN FROM KNIFE ATTACKER.”

No, the media are playing the BLM “white guilt” race card here, simply because Officer Reardon is white. The fact that the woman he saved from being stabbed is black? Never mind that. It doesn’t fit the media’s preferred narrative, in which white is a synonym for bad.

Understand that I’ve spent months watching police videos on the Police Activity YouTube channel, so I’ve become sort of an amateur expert on how these kinds of incidents generally go down. As in this case, police often arrive on a scene of confusion, with only a brief description of what’s happening based on a frantic 911 call. When you watch bodycam video of incidents like this — and, as I say, what happened in the Ma’Khia Bryant case isn’t really unusual — it can be difficult to understand what you’re seeing, because it happens so fast amid confusing circumstances. The media would be happy to run with that, but the video makes that inconvenient. As does the spin from relatives suggesting she was so caring and motherly.

Next is the focus on the girl in pink and how the officer likely saved her life.

Lots of questions. Why was she in foster care? Had she always been so out of control her mother couldn’t handle her? Did her mother care? Clearly no father has been in the picture for some time. If she were so nice and motherly, why was she in foster care?

Why was there such a crowd there at what was supposedly a foster home? Or was she the only fostered teenager in the home?

Why was that adult male there? What precipitated the fight such that the adult male thought it would be a good idea to kick the fallen girl in the back of the head? Why did she go after the girl in pink? Why snivel about her being just a child when seconds before, he was willing to kick another “child” in the head?

One would think all of those in the near vicinity would have been interviewed by the police, but it’s doubtful many of these details will told until months of grifting go by.

Easier to dig into the background of the officer and some attempt to smear him I guess.

With their reporting on his being an Expert Marksman, I get the sense they are trying to spin him as some radicalized white supremacist trained by the military to kill.

I won’t entertain the questions by nitwits wondering why he didn’t shoot her in the leg, or use his taser.

Never bring a knife to a gunfight.

Feel sorry for Chauvin and this guy. Personally, I would never want to be a Police officer, but if I was my primary concern when dealing with POC’s would be “How do I not get in trouble”. The police officer was forced into a miserable and inescapable position–if he was to fulfil his duties. According to new police footage, the girl threatened by Ma’Khia Bryant at knifepoint tells authorities, “She came after me.” That’s why the officer shot the teen, the victim says, expressing gratitude.

Before the girl dressed in the bright pink sweatsuit is seated in the police car, the victim of the attempted stabbing recounts the terrifying situation. “She came out here with a knife earlier?” one of the cops questions, referring to Bryant. “She just did. So let me see if I have this straight. The left and some blacks are outraged because a young black woman was shot by a police officer.
The young woman appears to be participating in some sort of confrontation involving 6-10 other black individuals in her local neighborhood. We apparently do not yet know the cause of the disturbance.
The young woman is reported to be a foster child, and therefore “in the system.” Although she appears to have been in foster care, her birth mother reports that she was “a loving, caring, maternal” youngster. O.K. mom, where the hell were you?
This young woman obviously “lost it” in this confrontation with the young woman in the pink outfit. Why? I have no idea but it appears that Ma’Kiyah had anger management issues. Note that this dispute seems to have been entirely among and between a group of black teenagers.
The police officer arrives on the scene of the melee and sees: a) a young man kicking a young woman who has fallen to the sidewalk; and, b) a young woman with a knife in her right hand swinging the knife at the woman in pink and shouting that the woman in pink is going to be stabbed.
The officer yells at the woman with the knife to “get down”. The knife attack continues and the officer shoots the perpetrator.
I assume that Ma’Kiyah’s mother has already started her suit against Columbus, the police department, and the officer for them doing the job we pay them for.

If he is tired of seeing black people killed by cops maybe he should be encouraging them to stay in school, get educated, get a job, stay away from drugs, gangs and live a life of integrity and stay on a more directed path that does not entail
crime and drugs.

He should be using his status of who he is and his 50 million followers. Work with the kids in the inner city through the boys and girls clubs etc.
