I watch the Honeymooners, the Andy Griffith Show, the Dick Van Dyke Show and so on.

I read the book when it came out, then saw the movie a few years later. The film left out a lot of the nuance and psychological conflict, but overall was still a good tale. Didn’t know there had been a remake, can only imagine how today’s Hollywierdos have hosed that up!

I was a Little Rascals fan. We didn’t have the technology to do what you’re doing before someone purchased all the originals and kept them from being aired. The reason behind it was racism. Ironically most of the black characters were the favorites. Even more ironic is that the person who bought up the rights and refused to let them be shown was Bill Cosby.

Your children aren’t alone. When I was a kid, I thought Black and White TV shows and films looked weird. But I kept watching the Black and White stuff with my Dad because I enjoyed hanging out with him.
Eventually, I grew to appreciate that these Black and White shows and films were good or even great. Just because something has a different style doesn’t make it bad.
I’m glad my Dad respected me enough to learn that on my own instead of resorting to “B & W is cool, Color sucks” lectures.
LOL. My kids still laugh at me watching “old gray movies”. We must preserve and promote Western culture and civilization. I have a ton of great old classic lit books, many of which I bought at library sales where they were dumped. I used to love going to the library. Now they can close them all for all I care, full of trash and movies…and now drag queens.
So what software do you use to load the dvds on the hard drive?
I only but used DVDs, Blu-ray and sometimes VHS that I copy to a hard drive or DVD. That way I am sure that hollywood doesn’t receive any of my money. Goodwill, Women’s Shelter stores, thrift & 2nd hand stores and garage stores all have loads of movies and money goes to a better cause than hollywood. We are also very careful about which movies we watch on direct tv so not to give a specific channel or actor the benefit. Where we live our only option of tv is satellite, cell service in non existent and internet can be sporadic and people are few and far between which makes it all worthwhile.
Same here. I’d love to cancel the satellite, but streaming is poor out this way. Still considering it, but spouse not willing yet. Every day is less worth it. I’d miss TMC old movies.
