Surgical masks may stop bacteria – probably not viruses. They also stop material from the surgical area from splashing on the medical staff.

We have a winner. Surgical masks are designed to keep from infecting people who are being cut open, where sensitive organs and blood vessels are being exposed to the atmosphere.

And yet with all their precautions, patients routinely get bacterial infections during surgery.

        • I would say “sometimes” rather than “routinely”, as it is not routine. You can sterilize the instruments and the gloves. You can’t sterilize living tissue or it dies. So it’s always a fight to get as clean as feasible and to stay that way long enough for the procedure. That’s another reason modern imaging techniques save lives. We no longer have to open people up in every case to see what’s wrong. Reduces nosocomial infection.

Surgical masks are used in a temperature and humidity controlled surgical suite. Also controlled is the ventilation and oxygen level in the surgical suite.

Excellent info in this video. Originally posted back in June. Too bad so many folks are unaware of these facts about masks. I am amazed how gullible the public is. I recently started riding a bicycle and am astonished by the number of people riding with masks on–some very tight N95-type masks.

If they only knew how bad that is for their health…

An OSHA trainer that I watched (don’t have the link handy) said that the hospital has different oxygen levels pumped into its rooms and different pressure levels so that enables the doctors and nurses in masks to be able to sustain wearing them for long periods with out worrying about oxygen deprivation. She said most doctors do not even know that.

She also said kids will not have that kind of environment in school while wearing masks for long periods of time and that could be very detrimental to their health.

      • Negative pressure rooms (uncommon for operating theaters) exist to pump contaminated air OUT for filtration, not to pump extra oxygen in. Usually they are only in ICUs, for use with patients who have airborne diseases. If a member of a surgical team gets woozy from the PPE, they step outside while an assist takes over. Pumping oxygen into an operating room would make the environment richer for bacterial growth.

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/08/jail-fauci-new-report-compares-turkey-covid-treatment-hcq-vs-usa-without-hcq-results-crystal-clear/

How many people died unnecessarily when there has been a treatment for the C-19 that has been known about since at least 2005; it’s on the record and the left’s new darling Doktor Fraudi told us so.

What these EVIL people have done in denying HCQ treatment to people with C-19 is a crime against humanity; it is mass murder!

The power of propaganda, be it HCQ or climate alarmism is sadly too powerful. We always cling to the hope that the majority of voters see thru the agitprop.

I saw Dr Marik’s rationale for NOT using HCQ now, and I am not convinced. He claims it takes many days for it to achieve a therapeutic level and that’s why it is not good for those who are very sick but may be useful as a prophylactic. But it seems like he was also equating the therapeutic levels for those who use it for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. He had it on his protocol for a couple of months.. I’d love to ask him what he had seen with its use and if it didn’t work. However, I do know of one case where he was bad off and supposedly they did use it and it didn’t help.

But….there is the use of HCQ for the first SARS that was claimed to have been very useful as a treatment, we saw Dr Fauci’s praise for it. Then there’s other testimonies we have seen throughout this pandemic where they did improve over some hours after taking, many that were going to be going on the vent. So how does one explain that?

Where are the lawsuits on behalf of those who have needlessly died because early treatment of Covid-19 with HCL was denied?

A safe, effective treatment when given early in the disease process, denied to innocent victims based on lies promoted by the media, big pharma and government officials, including governors who interfere in the doctor-patient relationship, decreeing that this life-saving treatment be withheld.

It is murder . No question . What proof are they offering it doesn’t work ? Manipulated statistics . What do you have to lose ? At a minimum , it gives you a leg up on the virus . At best , you don’t have to be hospitalized . That is for the early treatment but the prophylactic benefits are well documented even if anecdotal , once again , what are they so afraid of ? If it works everyone wins except for Fauci , Gates and Pharma .

      • “They” are afraid of harming patients who have to take other meds that interact badly with HCQ. That’s why it can be risky for cardiac patients or diabetics (for example) to use. Does it help to cause a heart attack while treating a mostly non-lethal virus? Patients rarely have one single condition, like COVID. It is always necessary to consider medications in relation to other pre-existing conditions they have.

The riot live stream was fun tonite

No more standoff with the Feds at the Court House, so now the rioters are getting their a$$es kicked by Portland Police

Police declared a riot real early tonite, 9:46 or so

In other words, they’re not tolerating the nonsense any more and are going to nip it in the bud early. No more party all night for the rioters

Police drove them all the way out of town tonite.

Police started forcing them down streets and then started double-timing it so the rioters were having to run backwards, many of them falling and getting arrested or run over by police on the double time..

Lots of bitching and moaning by a female streamer, “You ran people over back there!” “You broke my hand!”

It ended up on dark suburban streets all the way out of town, with homeowners coming to their doors and yelling “Go home! Get out of our neighborhood!”

Then the rioters realized they need to walk all the way back to town to their cars.

      Great stuff

Funny – for all the bitching and moaning about “Federal Officers”, the Feds finally got Portland to do the job with their own damn police … in the end, Trump wins!

      • nimrodman & lotbusyexec: we just got our electricity back on (for the time being) after being without power for the last 2 days here in the People’s Republic of Covid Compliant New York. At this writing there are still hundreds of thousands who are not so fortunate. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays on for awhile so we can give our generator a rest.

If anyone who lives here wanted to get a good taste of just how bad it will get if this lockdown insanity continues, the last few days should be illustrative.

Kill Cuomo was so busy telling restaurant owners how what kind of snacks they could serve that he didn’t have time to deal with one of the worst storms to hit NY in many years.
There was and is ZERO leadership from Killer Cuomo and even our disgraceful state Legislators who gave this scumbag unlimited power back in March.

ALL government offices, courts and agencies are in LOCK DOWN. My town hall is literally locked at all times with signs on the front “No mask, no service.” “Entry by appointment only, temperature will be taken.” The town “employees” have been on paid vacation since the end of March. None of them take phone calls or answer emails.

Neither Killer Cuomo nor the County Executives bothered to deal with the big utility companies like NYSEG, Con Ed, etc even though the Public Service Commission has thoroughly detailed their CRIMES against their customers, their lack of preparedness, lack of paid employees, even before the storm.

Now Chi Com Covid is their ongoing excuse for misfeasance, malfeasance, laziness and incompetence. People are suffering, most don’t have generators. Internet is out too, no communication. Elderly are not being checked on, God knows what is happening in the nursing homes. Everything is being done in secret because, you know, Covid.

*** The fake, phony Covid Crisis is the biggest issue we are facing before election. While I am glad that miserable b***** Sally Yates and some of the others are being exposed, I can tell you that 99% of the people around here probably don’t give a rat’s ass what happens to them. They are more concerned about whether or not they will have electricity, or if their kids will go back to school, if their businesses will reopen fully and whether or not they can survive.

Our President Trump should be doing whatever it takes to officially end the “epidemic” and get GOVERNMENT OPEN AGAIN. These bastards have been vacationing on our dime long enough.

I agree with you 1000% that sometimes it feels that we are the only ones in our little neck of the woods who are standing up for what is right. At least that’s the way it is for me in this part of Commie NY.
However- I have gotten to the point after 30+ years of being a taxpayer advocate, that I no longer care if I am the ONLY ONE telling the truth about what’s going in my town and county.
I don’t care if I am the ONLY one at public hearings who gets up and denounces the town board for their atrocious behavior and incompetence.
If I am the only one- at least there will be a record of their wrongdoing for the future. At least they won’t be able to say that nobody complained or said anything.

This is what happens when you allow idiots who have never created anything in their entire lives, other than their ability to pilfer and extort things from the productive people, to run something larger than a lemonade stand. Scratch that, I’m sure it’s illegal to run a lemonade stand in New York.

The problem is so many wealthy mobile fled to their vacation/rental/other homes in other states, and if they spend more than 6 months remote working out of NY, aren’t they technically moving their “permanent residence“ for tax purposes? Like Rush, you hit a point where you aren’t a NY citizen anymore. It’s not like you are coming to NYC for the “culture” anymore, all the shows and museums are closed, you can’t have fancy parties and fancy dinners.

It was all fun and games until NYC realized they lost their tax base, and literally ran out of other people’s money.

I don’t know much about taxes in NY, but during the time when the hospital ship was in NY and nurses were volunteering under Samaritan’s Purse, it came out that they were going to have to pay income taxes in NY because they made money working there, even for a short while. Franklin Graham said Samaritan’s Purse would cover what it was costing their volunteers so they weren’t hurt financially. I got the feeling they had to pay a percentage of their WHOLE income.

      • It’s only going to get worse. Real estate values are being crushed. No one sees the benefit of living in NYC any more. A recent study indicated that as many as 35% of all renters are in default. As many as 33% of retail establishments won’t re-open, ever.

Example: A level celebrity Jennifer Lawrence just sold her plush East Side Penthouse. It was on the market for over a year and she kept slashing prices. Finally sold at $9 million, $7 million less than she paid in 2016 ! Yikes !!

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people. And they will vote for the same politics as what got them into the mess.

If you like this kind of stuff, it is a very interesting graphic to look at. Many of these people will not return to NYC. They can telecommute, they will relocate, they will quite, they no longer have the NYC based job. They will adapt to a better quality of life outside of NYC.

Side Note: Gov. Cuomo let COVID spread all across America. He should have quarratined, as President Trump suggested. But Cuomo said “No”.

I am in Westchester County. I have no power either. The area is an absolute mess. 60,000 ConEd customers in Westchester County are still without power as of 5 am. ConEd is giving the date of Sunday, August 9 for possible restoration of power. I am trying to find a generator, but they are sold out. I will look for ice chests today and fill with ice to keep my food from spoiling. Working from home has ground to a halt as we cannot operate computers and the WiFi is down due no power. Tropical Storm Isaias was a nasty storm. It did a lot of damage. I don’t know why it’s not being covered.

You are right about the courts in lower NY remaining closed. It’s been ridiculous how everything has ground to a halt in the courts as a result of the pandemic. Those who have matters before the court will not get resolution for years. Courts are only hearing emergency petitions and that is very limited and online.

I heard as much as 780,000 homes were without power after the storm hit. Ever source says damage so bad in some areas, the system (poles, lines, etc) will have to be built from scratch. Since I have no power or internet I have no idea if this has been publicized outside of CT.
This, on top of the ridiculous increase in our electric rates this past month because of insane policy of “clean energy” where taxpayers are forced to subsidize a nuclear power plant in CT. All to save the world from evil fossil fuel use! Insane! Peoples bills tripled in one month!
I’m reminded of the evil Obama saying his environmental and energy policies would mean peoples bills “will necessarily skyrocket”. Well, CT is there.

There has been some coverage on FOX. Mostly bout power outages and the fires that have destroyed many homes. When we have a storm certain to hit our area….all the power is shut down with for warning, This prevents fires. If a home is structurally damaged the power will be cut at the box before all power is back up and running. Back in 1979 when Frederick hit our area People north of the beaches were without power for several weeks. My husband and I lived on same block as fire and police departments so we had power next day. Water lines were also affected and could not use water for drinking for weeks. Since then our Power Company which is a co-op has buried all lines in and around the beach, Feel for you as I have been through 8 hurricanes in my home of 32 years. Once closed, our power will be super expensive and unreliable. I heard the plan was to get the power from hydroelectric out of Canada. Like that is going to be a viable alternative to nuclear power. /s. The idiots think that closing Indian Point will suddenly result in the area being “clean”. I hate to tell them that it will take years to fully shut that plant down and hundreds/thousands of years before that particular land can be “clean” enough to use for anything else. Sleepless night for me. Unfortunately I just read comments with tweets about the NY AG. This is one of the Soros bought and paid for AGs that from the day she was elected has said she would go after President Trump.

There will be no peace in this country until the Soros family loses its power. They have committed many crimes against so many countries including the US. Unfortunately for us they, and others, have bought most of the House and Senate. And now apparently, most of our justice system.

I am praying to Lord God Almighty for Archangels Micheal and Gabriel to enter the arena to protect our country, it’s citizens and it’s President. Public health’s origins come from Rudolph Virchow, “The Pope of SOCIAL medicine”.

Virchow was against washing your hands to “slow the spread”, he targeted doctors financially and professionally who said it did, getting one locked up in a mental institution were he was beaten and died a couple weeks later.

He visited San Francisco’s Chinatown during the the China plague in early 1900. His vaccine made people violently ill and some died. Chinese Americans refused it after that.

Rupert Blue was tasked with the outbreak by the president, he discovered it was the fleas that were infected, biting rats on ships from China, and those rats entered Chinatown from port. They killed thousands of rats and it solved the problem. He would later become Surgeon General.

Blacks already use Racial Extortion to gain preference in Employment College Admissions, access to Tax Payer funded Loans and Grants, etc.
Blacks want to add their responsibility to pay for any personal Health Insurance, or Care, because of the physical and physiological effects caused racism. (High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease).

All of the above are Constitutionally Illegal as they Violate The 14th Amendment Equal Protection Clause.

JAIL FAUCI: Massive International Study Shows Countries with Early HCQ Use Had 79% Lower Mortality Rate — THIS IS HUGE! We Are Talking Over 100,000 American Lives!

    Published August 6, 2020

The latest international testing of hydroxychloroquine treatment of coronavirus shows countries that had early use of the drug had a 79% lower mortality rate than countries that banned the use of the safe malaria drug.

This means that Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, the CDC, the liberal fake news media and the tech giants have been pushing a lie that has had deadly consequences!

Attorney General James Files Lawsuit to Dissolve NRA

AG James’ Action Will Hold Powerful Gun Group Accountable

Lawsuit Details Years of Illegal Self-Dealing That Funded Lavish Lifestyle of NRA Leaders

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today filed a lawsuit seeking to dissolve the National Rifle Association (NRA), the largest and most influential pro-gun organization in the nation. Attorney General James charges the organization with illegal conduct because of their diversion of millions of dollars away from the charitable mission of the organization for personal use by senior leadership, awarding contracts to the financial gain of close associates and family, and appearing to dole out lucrative no-show contracts to former employees in order to buy their silence and continued loyalty. The suit specifically charges the NRA as a whole, as well as Executive Vice-President Wayne LaPierre, former Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Wilson “Woody” Phillips, former Chief of Staff and the Executive Director of General Operations Joshua Powell, and Corporate Secretary and General Counsel John Frazer with failing to manage the NRA’s funds and failing to follow numerous state and federal laws, contributing to the loss of more than $64 million in just three years for the NRA.

There are scores of doctors and researchers who would stand with PT if he told the public the truth.

President Trump has not issued a national mandate to wear a mask. He has recommended wearing one if you are not able to social distance. He has recommended vigorous hygiene.

There are many issues we would all like the President to address more than others. He has a big country to run. I’ll try not to second-guess him too much. But, like you and all Americans, I’ll continue to speak out when I disagree with any elected official.

Well first of all Donald Trump has been a great leader and a hero since he got elected, that has not changed at all. That said, states have the power to do what they want. Trump can’t stop them from closing businesses, requiring masks, closing schools and whatever else Governors and Mayors decide to require. He also can’t stop businesses from requiring their employees and customers to wear masks. As far as him telling people that they have nothing to lose by wearing a mask, he’s right, it’s just his opinion. Some doctors say they help, others say they don’t. If you believe the doctors who say they help, then you’ll wear a mask, if you believe the doctors who say they don’t help, then you won’t wear a mask.

    • That is just Michelle’s “be like me” message of discontent.
The Democrat party is the party of the discontented, so they have to cause people to be discontented, to have enough voters.
Unfortunately creating discontent, causes depression, unhappiness and even misery.

So, vote for Trump to be as happy as you can be.
Or vote for the Democrats to be as miserable as they can make you.
I personally choose happiness over misery, not that I am being judgmental!
