I think President Trump is right about the timing, this thing is going to be mostly over by Easter. Probably sooner but it’s going to take some pushing with the despotic lefty presstitutes pushing the phony deaths for dollars narrative. Before then the open defiance will start trickling. Especially in lefty states that have reached for extraordinary powers with little justification. It will grow and become unstoppable. At some point it won’t matter what the government says. Better for everyone to lift restrictions before then, at least most of them.

The propaganda advertorials, which are ads designed to look like news stories, come from the Beijing Review, an entity backed by the Chinese Communist Party. The outlet has never registered with the Department of Justice as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and does not include a legally required disclaimer that the ad is being pushed by a foreign nation.

“President Xi [Jinping] leads the battle against COVID-19 outbreak toward victory,” an advertorial published in the March 21 edition of the Economist reads. “China has rolled out ‘probably the most ambitious, agile, and aggressive disease containment effort in history.'”

This Cuomo creep is unbearable. He wants to be a pied piper in leading young people into a whole new era of how we go about life. His failures in NY are worn by him as a badge of honor. He has absolutely NO jurisdiction over me, and I refuse to give him a smidgen of respect.

Is NY more special than the other 49 states?

Did NYC take seriously the idea that people coming back from China could be infected?

What purpose was there for ignoring protocols for medical emergency preparedness prior to a medical emergency?

How insipid do NYers have to be to believe that anything this man says NOW is of help?

Why should the rest of the country have to continually bail out this cesspool, whose politicians have grifted to the bone?

BTW, he says today they have patients that have been on ventilators 20-30 days. That means they went on the vent the last week of February? They were surely inpatient at least a day or two before that.

NYC was slow to shut down things, about 5 or 6 days behind POTUS’s call to social distance. Everything remained open. Remember the tussle between Cuomo and DeBlasio?

Now we find out they new they had problems a month ago. They saw what was happening in WA state, in China, in Italy. They knew or should have known it had made its way to NYC, yet they did nothing. Instead they resisted the President. Then when it exploded they whine, complain, blame and beg for handouts.

Very curios why Fox news has his briefings on every day when 99% of the country is not in or from NY? Makes you wonder if this some kind of push to put Cuomo to the head of the dem heap by someone in Fox.Why does Paul Ryan come to mind? Because Fox is HQ’d in NYC. It’s why Fox is 24/7 Wuhan virus hysteria. NYC based media think that NYC is the be all, end all of civilization.

I’ve been one to not be too harsh on Fox in the past (except for that freaking annoying bottom of the screen fake news crawler) just due to them having at least some good content on the network. But this “pandemic, we’re all gonna die!” hysteria they’ve been selling has lost me.

At the scene, crews found a fully involved cabin of an 18-wheeler and proceeded to shut down all lanes of IH-35 NB.

The “Cabin” is the “Cab” of the Tractor.
From the pic it seemed the trailer was not actively burning. And, it was a “Day Cab”, meaningn no “Sleeper Area”; The Truck Driver goes home each night.

Without having enough info to say for certain.. I’d “guess” Tractor Brakes caught fire

      Happens from time to time…

Stopping the “Rig” (if the Brakes are HOT!!) removes the air pushing past them because of the forward motion.

      Stop the Rig
      Stop the cooling air.
      Brakes get “Really HOT”…

  15. Reporting from the Commie suburbs the People’s Republic of NY, as we watch our Liberties and our Livelihoods being flushed down the toilet by El Supremo Cuomo, Comrade Deblasio and the rest of the thuggish crooks and criminals who run this state.
Too all Treepers who live in sane, Red states, you have no idea how lucky you are. If anything has convinced us that it’s long past time to join our many friends and relatives who have left here already, it’s this phony Chi Com Flu hoax.
I had no idea just how fast Cuomo & Co. would clamp down and turn this state into a veritable Gulag, but that is basically what has happened. Liberal Dems and their constituents are begging Cuomo to ban the sale of cigarettes and vaping products. For our own good of course.
Dutchess County is now floating the idea of going full Gulag and arresting people who are out walking the streets unless they can prove they have a good reason. I expect that to happen shortly if it hasn’t already.
Meanwhile, I have spent many many hours working on our SBA loan application without assistance from any of the thousands of SBA or other employees who are supposed to be handling this process. My county, town, village and school district employees are on paid vacation and not missing a paycheck.
Local property taxes will not be lowered, nor will the interest on unpaid balances be waived or lowered. Our rapacious Legislature is working in secret on a new confiscatory budget that is due April 1st. Oh yeah, how appropriate- the joke will be on the NY tax slaves who are paying for all this.
I’m trying to catch up with all that’s going on at the CTH. Thanks Sundance and all of you who are helping to keep this ship afloat. I am praying for all of us non-stop.

I cannot understand why the teachers cannot post videos of their lectures if we are forced to live like this. I cannot tell you how upset all of this has made me. I feel for all of the small business owners. My dry cleaner – a nice Korean man – told me 2 days ago that he was so stunned about not being able to open up and asked why certain business were allowed to and he could not. He runs a side delivery service of dropping off and picking up at homes (front steps). He could continue to do so he said. He is afraid of the impact this will have on his livelihood.

      • Bec- I’m in Putnam so we have the same 6 figure salaries for teachers and administrators. I cannot believe that we are being forced to pay them for not working.
It’s bad enough that they get the salaries and benefits I can only dream of working about half the year.
Oh yeah- I know they will start screaming as soon as anyone mentions that, claiming that they really are working 7 days a week but we just don’t realize it.
My local government employees are on a paid vacation for the rest of the year probably.

I want a refund of my some of property taxes because of the time I have had to spend handling kids and “teaching” course work (when they actually got it). But, I know my town here… only a higher bill next year, and when I go in to contest it I will be told yet again how they are only making things “equitable” so we “all pay our fair share” because we all “own a piece of the town.”

According to Google search, the most recent data available, the U.S took in 63 Billion $ in tariffs from CHI-NA, during 12 month period, and the monthly amount was steadily rising.

    Thats over 1/2 a Trillion $ in a year.
And, as PDJT eluded to yesterday, he hasn’t even started on EU, yet but will.

Because they are totally dependant on a trade imbalance, in a different but similar way to CHI-NA, the EU will no doubt balk at agreeing to level trade, which means PDJT will put tariffs on them, as well.

So, probable a half trillion/ year, each from CHI-NA and EU, or a Trillion/year.

This doesn’t include countries like Japan, and hopefully India, which reach trade agreements “leveling the playing field” without us invoking tarifs, which ALSO means $ coming into our economy, as our products sell into those markets; increased jobs, and therefore tax revenues.

Bear this in mind, before stressing TOO much, over the pricetag of this “Care” legislation.

Bear in mind, virtually EVERY country has had tariffs on OUR goods, while we have had virtually none on theirs.

Canada had a 298% tariff on our dairy goods. India, another country with over a billion people, has huge tariffs on U.S. products.
Just establishing an across the board tariff free trading system, would bring in gajillions of jobs to this country, with concomittant $ to the treasury.

And a gajillion is like a 1000 trillions, or as my nephew says “a whole GARBLEFULL!”, LOL.

No snark intended or implied by me. Truly

Question, with all the countries that have been impacted by the virus are we really wise to count on products from them and the tariffs? They are closing their factories and businesses and are unable to make products.

And, the goods that they are importing are they really what Americans want/or can even buy. Right now the “demand” is getting food on the table, making a car payment, mortgage payment, etc—all without a paycheck.

I personally try never to count money I do not actually have my hands on!

Please become familiar on the retraction of the bogus estimates put out by the Imperial College of London by Nell Ferguson. The Imperial College model was always garbage because they used garbage estimate to create a ‘scare” model” . I have posted for 2 weeks that the COVID-19 transmission was vastly underestimated leading to a vastly overestimate of population mortality and hospitalizations rate (which have not been seen). This is either an egregious error (hard to believe) or outright intentional by Ferguson and the Imperial college group. There are many health care workers that are staying home, but not by choice. Health care workers in the hot spots are busy but the rest of the country’s health care facilities have been shut down. No surgeries, except for emergencies, no elective procedures and office visits are almost non-existent. Many are being furloughed, having hours cut or are working without pay to try to cover overhead. This includes doctors, nurses, receptionists, billing, lab techs, x-ray techs, etc.
Nobody has to have a gun to the heads of nurses & doctors. That is the job and most willingly take the risk.

Armstrong Williams: UK Government Downgrades Coronavirus As No Longer Highly Dangerous

    https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/international-news/politics/uk-government-downgrade-coronavirus-as-no-longer-highly-dangerous/

    Excerpt:

    Status of COVID-19

As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious diseases (HCID) in the UK.

The 4 nations public health HCID group made an interim recommendation in January 2020 to classify COVID-19 as an HCID. This was based on consideration of the UK HCID criteria about the virus and the disease with information available during the early stages of the outbreak. Now that more is known about COVID-19, the public health bodies in the UK have reviewed the most up to date information about COVID-19 against the UK HCID criteria. They have determined that several features have now changed; in particular, more information is available about mortality rates (low overall), and there is now greater clinical awareness and a specific and sensitive laboratory test, the availability of which continues to increase.
