I was in Hong Kong at the tail end of SARS. A few notable differences from what I experienced there and then versus what see now here. First, virtually everybody was wearing masks outside their homes, many wearing them while at home. Second, your temperature was taken for all those who were required to go to go work before they were allowed to enter the building. Your temperature was taken at most large stores that remained open like grocery. Third, many people would disrobe as soon as they walked into their home, put all there clothes into a bag or those with washers would put them in. Washing hands as soon as you got home. Disinfecting all frequently touched objects in home (mobile phone esp.). I also spray disinfected my shoes when I got home. Hardest thing was being aware of never touching your head. Lastly, whenever possible, I only used disposable tho gs outside the home and discarded them before

On the flip side, his leadership continues to push his approval ratings upwards, even from democrats.

This also continues to vindicate him on his calls for border security, economic independence, a strong healthcare system, and labeling China as an economic and national security threat.

I would love to hear the answer to that question as well since my Lefty Governor shut us down last week until at least the 7th of April…all because a poorly run nursing home didn’t follow proper protocols!!

Most of these Governors who have shut down their states have ZERO business experience and decades in government… A lethal combination in so many areas! The depth of their ignorance is matched only by the level of their ignorance as to how the world actually works!

Those of us in the “shut down” states need to bombard our State reps and our Governor with emails and phone calls demanding these ridiculous orders end now! They will have a much harder time keeping them going once the President announces that the country is “open for business” hopefully by the end of next week!!

It interacts negatively with diabetes meds. It can cause arrhythmia and heart attacks in cardiac patients. It’s capable of causing birth defects in pregnant women, and it is fatal for children even in small amounts. A great deal of care is required, so it should only be used under a doctor’s order, never because you decide to self-medicate. Lots of clinical trials to determine safe dosage are currently underway. Those really must be completed first to tell how much can safely be given to what kind of patient. Sometimes dosages vary by gender.

The disease may have been hyped, but so has the detrimental effect of the sheltering at home. If a business is sunk by a three week hiatus, it may not have been long for this world anyway. People who lived through the Depression forever had a clear understanding of the value of savings. We lament the fact that people only have $400 in savings, but the same goes for business. Big companies wasted cash on stock buybacks and small companies often waste it on ill-considered capital improvements and renovations. People and businesses – large and small – are re-learning the value of conserving. Conservatives used to like conserving. Have we given over to the theory that the economy is only “working” if people spend 110% of their earnings at all times?

If we’re currently well and stay shut up in our homes, aren’t we still at risk for any future recurrence? Obviously of course we are but will it also be another “shutdown?”

As some here have written there was not any of this type of “preventive” action taken for H1N1.

Look up Event 201 which was a discussion group with reps from the gov’t, media and business. It was last October and they discussed just what has occurred. Especially how to “control’ the message. First case in China is supposed to have been 11-17-19.

I believe there is a certain amount of herd immunity developing. I think this all started, not when we first heard of it, but who knows how much sooner. Just before Thanksgiving, I flew to visit my son and his family. They had what seemed to be simple colds. The two year old developed a rash but no fever and the 4 yr old ended up with an early case of pneumonia. I just felt tired, really, really tired and had a little cough. I have allergies, so I don’t get excited over dry coughs. When I got back home, I was too tired to do much. I lost my sense of taste and had trouble making myself eat. Then, I got to where going up the stairs was difficult because I would breath so hard. Of course, now I have heard a lot of these were symptoms of Covid 19. I have no way of knowing right now for sure if I had it.

But, how many people have had it and don’t know. I’m thinking this is more fear mongering about new waves of it.

That’s what we heard straight from the doctor in the hospital yesterday! The loss of taste distinguishes this from cold or flu.
Also people report that the cough is dry, and isn’t that bothersome. It’s the exhaustion that hits them hardest.

They base that “new wave more deadly” theory on the Spanish Flu. Butit isn’t flu.
They use the reasoning that this isn’t flu, when people try to argue that the protocols for this should be the same as flu.
If “this isn’t flu” applies in the one instance, then it applies in the other.

I’ve seen the second wave theory (and actually that means multiple years) from nearly the beginning. It assumes that summer suppresses it and it then returns for the next flu season, just like the flu does. And the theory is it will keep doing that until enough people get it or get vaccinated to where it doesn’t have a host and dies out.

In other words, it will act just like the flu, and that seems probable to me.

Per CDC, H1N1 has become the most common flu strain infection today. Estimates of flu deaths per year vary from 25-65k, therefore H1N1 must still be killing tens of thousand every year in the US alone.

Now they can test for immunity!

The test will tell you if this person has antibodies against coronavirus. You can also test the blood of people who are not currently sick to see if this person was infected, say, a month ago. If there are antibodies in the blood, you can say this person is probably immune to getting it again.

It will be essential workers who need to be tested first, like nurses, firefighters, and doctors. It will be great to know that they would not put themselves or others at risk by going back to work because they cannot spread the disease.

We’re about to enter into a weird time, where all of the middle of the country reopens and goes back to work… then in a couple weeks, most of the other states do too…but a few states like California and New York are going to drag this out as long as they possibly can, likely for a YEAR, and then spend the whole time whining that the Government and Trump aren’t doing enough to help them screw up their economy for a year.

The virus could migrate to the other hemisphere, then return when our weather turns cold again. The states with few earlier cases could all see spikes in case numbers. Re-opening everything could encourage a renewed spread of disease. Or not. It could burn out or mutate to a less virulent form. Or we could come up with meds and/or vaccine and stop the sucker. Who knows?

Uh, no.——-ROME (Reuters) – The number of coronavirus cases in Italy is probably 10 times higher than the official tally, the head of the agency collating the data said on Tuesday as the government readied new measures to force people to stay at home.
“A ratio of one certified case out of every 10 is credible,” Angelo Borrelli, the head of the Civil Protection Agency, told La Repubblica newspaper, indicating he believed as many as 640,000 people could have been infected.

This means the death rate is one tenth of that reported. At the time of the above news release (earlier this week), Italy had claimed 59,138 cases and 5,476 deaths, which is ~9.2%.
No, it’s really 0.92% or less than 1% – and this among a very old population with a huge percentage of them having serious health issues.

    Conspiracy theory time (again).
I noticed this article today, a woman who was at that Biogen conference in Boston talking about her illness:

She first developed a dry cough but eventually started feeling severe body aches and came down with a temperature of 101 degrees.

Really, from start to finish, this has been an awful experience,” Woolfson said. “I had incredible fatigue. It was the most tired I have ever been. I couldn’t get out of bed for the full week.”

There was one stroke of luck for Woolfson, who said her husband never got sick during the time she was contagious.

For most people, the coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia or death. The vast majority of people recover.
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/woman-who-contracted-coronavirus-at-biogen-conference-describes-illness/ar-BB11Ix7j

I’m posting about her because there is still a lack of clarity about how the disease is actually transmitted, also to highlight the severity and symptoms.

So this woman was actually at the conference, where people got sick.

Her’s the theory part, this woman who was not at the conference, but worked for the company, got sick, had contact with medical professionals in this country, we are still only getting sketchy details about her case, even after she did a runner.

People speaking off the record, and details “according to Beijing officials”.

Li, 37, is from Chongqing, a Chinese megacity of some 30 million people, but has lived extensively in the United States, the reports say.”

“She was among a number of Biogen employees tested for COVID-19 in early March at Massachusetts General Hospital, but Li left the United States before the results of her test were known, according to a person with knowledge of her situation, who asked to be anonymous because they were not authorized to speak about it.”

Again, who voluntarily returns to a Communist country while sick with a disease she was offered treatment for here?
Was she going home to face prison, or was she coming in from the cold?

“What the Political scene in China says, about the Coronavirus”
    By Gary Ginder.

It goes into some detail about the ‘politics’ inside China, with ‘warring factions’ within the CCP, and posits that Coronavirus was used to by one faction, to harm another, and then it “got out of control”.

Would love to hear A2’s take on this.

I have to eat crow, on a post I made recently, disparaging the idea that CHI-NA didn’t DELIBRRATELY release this virus, although NOT because of this article.

Mostly, its from reviewing how PDJT, so long as he retains the Oval office, is an existential threat to the CCP-CHI-NA, as well as the CCP-EU, and CCP-USA.

With CCP-CHI-NA, he still has tariffs in place, and realistically CHI-NA WILL be caught cheating, on the agreement currently in place.

Its a matter of when, not if, as engaging in fair trade would decimate their system, over time.

With EU-CCP, PDJT alluded again to how he has them already beat, using same model as he is using with CHI-NA.

They bought some time, by ponying up on NATO, but he WILL insist on them ‘opening up’ Trade, they will balk, and he will impose sanctions; the EU is utterly dependant on ripping off the U.S., and will have to totally restructure their system, to wean themselves off the 1/2 trillion $ they have been taking from us, every year for 30 years.

And, of coarse U.S.CCP, are on the ropes and being decimated by PDJT, they continue to lose the battle of “hearts and minds” of the American people, and have shot every arrow in their quiver, and have even thrown their bow at PDJT, only to have it all come back on them.

Anyway, I have now reconsidered, and I think the virus probably WAS deliberately released, in order to bring down PDJT.

So, I’ll get down my ranch dressing, my .410, and shoot one of Fred’s friends, and eat some crow. Its not that bad, really. NOT the first time, probably not the last.

Without going point by point, somevof their logic seemed,…tenuous.

Beyond that, small pox wasn’t engineered. If you were attempting to develop a bio weopon, you would start by looking at already existing ‘natural’ viruses, and in looking for likely candidates, may find some that didn’t need any manipulation, just ‘introduction’ to humans.

The Chinese certainly would have no shortage of test subjects, nor ANY compunction about human experimentation.
They use political prisoners as a human donor bank, fer Christs sake!

Ultimately, Economic Security is National Security means PDJT is making “warfare” about economic competition.

IF the CHI-NA virus was deployed as a bio weopon, it is ultimately an ECONOMIC weopon, as much as anything.
Destroy your enemies economy, they can’t afford to fight you, on any front.
Actually, China has been in an economic war with us for 30 years, actually trying for World conquest thru economic warfare.

Together, these facts imply that the confirmed cases are likely orders of magnitude less than the true number of infections. Epidemiological modelers haven’t adequately adapted their estimates to account for these factors. …

An epidemic seed on Jan. 1 [based on tens of thousands of travelers from Wuhan in December] implies that by March 9 about six million people in the U.S. would have been infected. As of March 23, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 499 Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. If our surmise of six million cases is accurate, that’s a mortality rate of 0.01%, assuming a two week lag between infection and death. — fresh fruits & veggies very good.
    — limit of 2 on most canned goods, but good selection
    — no paper products
    — frozen chicken available, as well as frozen seafood. Lots of frozen turkeys!
    — bread in good supply, but limit of 2
    — eggs were plenty
    — very little hot dogs, sandwich meats, pizzas etc. In other words — stuff to feed kids is in shortest supply 😱

Saw several employees wiping down carts and other surfaces.

Final comment….it’s absolutely GORGEOUS outside here — 75 degrees, sunny, light breeze. My yard is calling!

Need new thread on this baby: This is the bomb! This is huge. I have tracking this for 4 years! This is the bow on it all.

GPS Fusion, Wall Street Journal, illegal Immg., funneling money to US politicians. Epstein……

I have been following is for awhile since I hear a connection between Wall Street Journal, GPS Fusion squashing stories and all the crazy players from a guy that was interviewed on NPR! Yea, NPR! I heard this way before Trump and GPS Fusion came in the picture.

Barr is the good guy if he exposes this.

News-For-Hire Scandal Deepens: ‘Fusion GPS’ Sleazy Venezuela Links Shed New Light on Trump Dossier

    https://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-news-and-politics/241812/news-for-hire-scandal-deepens-gps-fusion-sleazy-venezuela-links-shed-new-light-on-trump-dossier

The fact that Fusion GPS has the whip-hand in its relationship with journalists hardly compels the company to be honest—revealing sources is for suckers, especially when your “sources” are paying the bills. At the same time as Fusion GPS was being paid directly by Russian clients in Washington, it was also being paid by a Venezuelan company called Derwick Associates that reportedly skimmed billions of dollars from rigged contracts with Hugo Chavez’s regime—and which did large amounts of business with Russian state companies like Gazprom and Gazprombank that are sanctioned by Washington for issues related to Russia’s involvement in Ukraine. That’s how Fusion GPS kept the lights on.

    ………

Fritsch, said one journalist who knows him, is the man who keeps the trains running on time at Fusion GPS. “Simpson has the contacts,” says the journalist, who asked not to be named, “but Fritsch is the guy who keeps order there.”

The purpose of Fritsch’s visit to Venezuela was to meet with reporters from the Wall Street Journal who were working on an investigative article about Derwick Associates. “Fritsch came with a lawyer, Adam Kaufman, who’d worked with Robert Morgenthau at the New York District Attorney’s office, to silence any further investigations from the Wall Street Journal,” says Boyd. “It was those two, a group of Derwick executives and Journal reporter José de Córdoba. They [said] would provide documents to show the contracts were legitimate, which they never did.”

Among all of Iran and Hezbollah’s allies in Latin America, Venezuela is perhaps the most important. But how exactly does Venezuela help Iran?

Remember when Trump almost had Venezuela flipped and some congress people interfered? The plot thickens.

It looks like De Córdoba was right to feel uncomfortable. On Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary committee heard written testimony from human rights activist Thor Halvorssen regarding Fusion GPS that backs up the account that Boyd gave me. “In 2012 I began researching a Venezuelan corruption scandal that also involved U.S. banks, companies, and even U.S. courts,” the Venezuelan-born Halvorssen writes in his testimony. “This story should have received extensive exposure on the front pages of America’s national newspapers. Fusion GPS, however, was hired to spike these stories. Even though it was clearly acting as a public relations counsel on behalf of a foreign principal, Fusion GPS never registered under FARA and was able to engage in nefarious activities without public scrutiny.”

    North Carolina report:
Well, we’re shut down here already by state decree and now the large cities of Greensboro and Winston-Salem are following the other big blue cities with a “shelter in place” decree starting Friday at 5 pm.

And here are the current stats that lead to this(besides the hysteria):
As of 10:15 am today 12,910 test have been completed. 635(4.9%) of those showed positive for COVID. And we have 1 COVID death(only .15 of 1% of those testing positive). It was reported yesterday that we had 2 deaths, but 1 was a person from Virginia sent to hospital here.

So, after 3 weeks from our 1st reported case we have had 1 death in a state of 10,000,000 people.

Data, rates of infected, rates of hospitalization and mortality rates, are necessary to end this overreaction to COVID-19. They all indicate COVID-19 is milder than portrayed. But it is not sufficient. It also requires the proper interpretation of these rates by NIH and CDC in the context of N1H1 and influenza in the past. We know as soon as President Trump tries to modify the ridiculous reaction the media, the democrats and publicity-seeking scientist will attack him viciously. He needs responsible allies.
