Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

    Legitimate Prayer

    By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

Prayer, in Old Testament times, was based upon a covenant relationship with God, or it was an appeal to His revealed nature as merciful, gracious, etc. Today it is based upon the redemptive work of Christ, whose death opened the way for us into the Father’s presence. This is why acceptable prayer today is offered “in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ”. With our Lord’s departure from this world in view, He said to His disciples:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me” (John 14:6).

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My name…At that day ye shall ask in My name: and I say not unto you that I will pray the Father for you, for the Father Himself loveth you, because ye have loved Me…” (John 16:24-27).

Thus today we pray directly to the Father in the name of the Son.

Our prayers, however, are often faltering and sometimes the way is so dark before us that we do not even know what to ask for. Thus Paul declared: “We know not what we should pray for as we ought”(Rom.8:26). But he was quick to follow this with the declaration:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom.8:28).

This is why the Apostle Paul encourages God’s people:

“Be careful [anxious] for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God:

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil.4:6,7).

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb.4:16).

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

What just happened and why?I was struck by the close resemblance a child who had been invited to the Trump White House to take part in the Hanukkah celebration had to a friend’s family members, also Jewish as was this visiting child at White House ceremony. Hoping to get a much closer look at the boy than the video I watched here at treehouse, I googled a request to see photo of a boy visiting the White House today, December 11, 2019, and if I’m right, obama no longer resides there, but oddly, the photos found to answer my request were of obama with a Thanksgiving turkey at the White House year’s ago. I cannot understand why this happened. He has not been in the White House for three years! Could it be that things are that out of date over at google these days?

Fundamentally what you have here is a walk down a street full of New Orleans restaurants. The frog legs, oysters and shrimp are available in the ‘local staples’ sectio of most supermarkets (and along side of many roads) and the rest is found in various higher-end eateries. We don’t eat to live, we live to eat. BTW, they forgot ‘soft shell crabs’.

For true decadence you wash the donut down with Goldwasser.

“That they may be one, even as we are one.” John xvii. 22

Personality is that peculiar, incalculable thing that is meant when we speak of ourselves as distinct from everyone else. Our personality is always too big for us to grasp. An island in the sea may be but the top of a great mountain. Personality is like an island, we know nothing about the great depths underneath, consequently we cannot estimate ourselves. We begin by thinking that we can, but we come to realize that there is only one Being Who understands us, and that is our Creator.

Personality is the characteristic of the spiritual man as individuality is the characteristic of the natural man. Our Lord can never be defined in terms of individuality and independence, but only in terms of personality, “I and My Father are one.” Personality merges, and you only reach your real identity when you are merged with another person. When love, or the Spirit of God strikes a man, he is transformed, he no longer insists upon his separate individuality. Our Lord never spoke in terms of individuality, of a man’s “elbows” or his isolated position, but in terms of personality – “that they may be one, even as We are one.” If you give up your right to yourself to God, the real true nature of your personality answers to God straight away. Jesus Christ emancipates the personality, and the individuality is transfigured; the transfiguring element is love, personal devotion to Jesus. Love is the outpouring of one personality in fellowship with another personality.

The other day Rush Limbaugh was citing “… an article over at The Conservative Treehouse.” He made a point that the depth, scope, and sophistication of the analysis “they” do at CTH is way beyond what anyone else in the media does. Especially the work on timelines.

Lots of influential people read CTH, which speaks volumes to the hard work and journalistic rigor Sundance and other contributors bring to the work. Look back at some of the articles from 5 or 10 years ago: An evergreen topic will have a grand total of 6 comments. The growth is phenomenal, well earned, and entirely deserved.

  22. Pale rider says:

Heb 11:7 Noah….by his faith condemned the world…
We as Christians in faith are Noah in this world. The presence of faith in God condemns the hearts of those who are rebellious towards God. I will even go farther down that path. Religion of any kind is condemned by true relationship with God. Religious leaders hated Jesus.
As a Christian you need to be meek, teachable, and when a rebellious spirit or jealous spirit is detected within it needs to be investigated. That spirit towards another Christian.
We pass over Gods voice in many instances because of our human reasoning and deductions of the kingdom of God, when in fact his kingdom is as foreign to us as the planet Mars or maybe more.
Gods laws in his kingdom are his thoughts, Isaiah 55:8 “for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways declares the lord.”
Death to self sounds so …final and violent but it is a laying down of ones beliefs and ideals. Jesus said “I lay down my life no one takes it, just as we do for him. The trade he offers, his kingdom. A kingdom of provision, miracles, health, sonship. A place of worship and assignments, fulfilling our place.

    OK, heeeeere it comes again.

MSM has a story going around on the news about how, in Virginia, vets at a wildlife rescue organization are finding bald eagles with lots of lead pellets and small fishing sinkers in their intestines. They get the lead from eating fish that have swallowed the sinkers (?) or eating dead animals/live animals hit with lead shot. They’re urging hunters/fisherpersons to switch from lead to other bullet metals.

Let’s go back a few decades to when Rats in Congress tried to get ammunition outlawed by having the EPA outlaw bullets containing lead. More than once the Rats in Congress also tried to make an end run around gun control by banning lead bullets but Republicans managed to get a law in place preventing that except on Federal lands when hunting waterfowl. That escapade led (no pun intended) the ammunition industry to develop the copper/brass/other metal bullets we see today. We’ll be in competition with the military who’s been forced to go with a green, environmental bullet to kill with.

I see this as the beginning of the campaign to do gun control thru ammunition control by outlawing lead ammo at a Federal level, making copper-based ammo far more expensive option. Copper is generally in a tight supply, China’s massive imports they used to build their megaprojects drove prices thru the ceiling for a while and the market’s still recovering. Get your lead-based bullets while you can, things look like they’re going to get tight.

    Christmas shopping hint #27:

When shopping for your leftist family and friends, remember: leftists lie. They lie all the time, about everything. When faced with the choice of speaking an innocuous truth or an outrageous lie that hurts them more than it helps them, they will tell the lie every time.

So, if you leftist uncle says he want socks, he really wants a hat.
When your leftist brother says he wants a white sweater, he really wants a black one.
When your leftist spouse says she would like a ski trip over New Years, she really wants to go to Florida.

    Hope this was helpful.

Exit poll shows Boris Johnson STORMING home: Sensational prediction has Tories winning historic Brexit election with a stonking majority of EIGHTY SIX and Labour with its worst result since 1935 as ‘red wall’ crumbles

A dramatic exit poll shows voters handing the Tories a massive 368 seats, with Labour languishing on 191 – down 71 on 2017 and the worst performance in modern history.

The bombshell numbers would give a huge Commons majority of 86, the biggest since Margaret Thatcher’s triumph in 1987, and are equivalent to a 10-point lead in the popular vote.
