Sobering update from a family friend of Landen’s
      —————————————————————-
Hello everyone, here is the latest statement and update from Landen’s family:

It is with continued gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received that we share an update on our child’s recovery from the severe trauma he suffered on April 12. While the miracle of his survival is what we celebrate and thank Jesus for every day, we must also acknowledge that our beautiful boy has been on a very challenging road to recovery.
It has been so hard for our young son and our family. Up until now we have let our hopes govern what we have revealed to the public. However, the injuries and severe complications have now resulted in more than 15 separate medical procedures or surgeries, including surgeries for two broken arms and a broken leg, removal of his spleen, procedures for fluid in his lungs and stomach, as well as for facial and skull fractures; and just this past weekend, he had a stent placed in a vein that runs through his liver because of the serious complications he continues to endure.
He remains in intensive care where he has been since his admission, under constant treatment and monitoring, and we are still unsure when our family will be able to return home. Throughout, your support has lifted each of us and reminded us of the power of God’s love. But our focus must continue to be solely on his recovery and the health of our entire family. Thanks again to each of you for your prayers and best wishes. Please continue to pray for him.
      Help spread the word!

Theses are very strong, appropriate words, stated at the right time. Iran talks serious smack, but will be “obliterated” if necessary. I seriously doubt that the Iranian leadership can stop itself from doing something catastrophically stupid, in which case the President will punish them very severely, and a large majority of the American people will strongly support him.

The Washington Examiner reports they are cleaning out the Western Unions in Texas based on their huge withdrawals:

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — People assisting the thousands of migrants who have arrived in San Antonio after being released from federal custody say Western Unions downtown are regularly running out of cash as a result of the high number of withdrawals being made by emigrants from Central American and African nations.

“Western Union has run out for the past two-and-a-half months,” said Khalid Chini, a local resident and volunteer at the migrant resource center downtown. “All the surrounding area, the Western Unions, they run out of money.”

Withdrawals are running in the four and five-figure sums, according to the Examiner:

Chini said some of the people he has escorted wanted to withdraw a lot more money than the cost of a plane ticket.

“They’re getting money like you would not believe,” he said. “I went with a guy — he wants to withdraw $25,000.”

… it is now normal to visit one of those three locations downtown and be told they are out of money by midday. Some stores now call the center to tell them when they are out, he said.

Just about everything that has been reported about the illegals so far is lies.

Everything about how they are just trying to escape the horror of violence in their own countries, how poor and helpless they all are, how much money the taxpayers of America needs to pony up to help these poor poor people.

This story about the withdrawing of huge amounts of money from the Western Unions is finally one that tells a little bit of truth.

All of these illegals are here to con and scam the taxpayers.

Very few of them are poor, suffering and needy.

So if they can clean out the Western Unions in south Texas by mid day each and every day for the last two months, why are the taxpayers of America paying 4 billion dollars to “relieve the humanitarian crisis on the border”.

I sure looks like they have the means to pay their own way when they really, really want to.

However, unless people quit talking about it and actually do something such as registering Republican voters, it could be a blowout. Why? MSM along with most social networking sites, and google, are allowed to continue to dispose of conservative content. As 2020 approaches, this will happen even more rapidly. My family (not my kids) are all raging liberals who faithfully quote everything CNN and MSNBC. “Trump is bad”, “GOP is racist”, “They are killing kids at the border.” Campaigns such as the walkaway are a start, but this is a street fight, which Republicans are not good at while Dems excel. Exactly. There was a published news account about Keith walking in the FBI building with a letter and walking out moments later and departing.

All the rest about “Trump’s team or DOJ team or Sessions Team raided Comey’s office yada yada” was loose talk on comment bulletin boards, with no substantiation or factual knowledge. A couple of the versions traced back to facebook, with people mouthing off there being no better than mouthing off on comment boards.

Not a single published article or news account substantiating the fables, which amounted to no more than hope porn or “here’s how it probably went”.

I studied it intently at the time.

Nothing until published news accounts and video (I believe) of McCable testifying to congress a week or weeks later, assuring that “the FBI” secured FBI ex-Director Comey’s FBI files.

No DOJ team, no Sessions team, no Schiller Team, no Trump team (unless people want to consider McCabe et al as a “Trump team”)

Mike, one reason is the enormous “administrative overhead” of colleges and universities paid for by the bloated tuition supported by student debt. If you look at the actual professor/teacher to student ratio and cost, it is about the same as it was in 1960. But the administrative cost (non-teaching pooh-bahs and supernumeraries with relatively enormous salaries) has exploded. Economic and “legal” power shifted from the Faculty to the “administration”, which generously rewards itself. Both of my alma maters have ~100 “diversity” executives.
One way to to approach the problem is for government grants to only allow direct overhead cost of the teaching department, and for students not to be responsible for paying back debt relating to “administrative overhead”. Let the universities take the “haircut” for their bloated costs.

Expecting others to pay your debt is not a good habit to get into.

The Student debt thing began way before the QE debacle started. Lay blame where it belongs: easy money=increased college costs, as student loans adjust to the ever increasing tuition rates. Its a self perpetuating monster.

My daughter managed to get herself hooked on the ‘easy money’ train for Nursing school, but also worked during that time. I graduated from the same school decades ago when student loans were rare and proceeded with caution, and tuition was not thru the roof. It was all cash flowed.

Students that have the proper guidance/direction for their career is invaluable. Cash is king, but the student must work and make their own living money rather than taking the ‘free’ money to survive. Loans for the tight times, not for partying. All situations are different. The Free money is just another means to hobble one’s dreams with a useless degree to fly.

Why should we pay other’s bad decisions? Maybe the govt.,since they ruled Student loan program to fund O’care, should consider dropping the rate to near nothing to straighten up the books. The default rate would be far more manageable.

There are certain professions that forgive loans when practicing in an undeserved area for two years. Students taking courses of no value, and crazy degrees, still cost big bucks with zero return are a big problem. In fact, would an insane degree even find real employment as a SJW? They are not the taxpayers problem. Circling back to the student’s councilors, they desperately need to be practical, and not all about feelz.

Sorry Star, but Crenshaw is correct .

The student loan mess is another Obama legacy. The Democrats took student loans away from banks in 2010 and turned it into a federal predatory lending program.

College costs doubled and loans exploded over a trillion.

It was well predicted at the time Democrats would later use those government loans to buy votes by eventually offering to cancel their debt. And here we are 9 years later.

It’s immoral to make someone who worked their way thru college, or worked hard to get scholarships, or went to inexpensive community colleges for the first two years, etc to pay a $100,000+ loan off for someone who made that decision instead.

When they took those loans out they knew what the monthly payments would be to pay it back . They are responsible for their own debt.

        • In the 1980’s my entire 4-year degree, out of state, cost a candy company $13,000. In-state students could get a diploma for $2,000 or less, paid for entirely by scholarships. Today, the web-site of that public college calmly says that the diploma will cost about half a million dollars. But, I don’t see college professors driving Lamborghinis.

The simple truth of the matter is that, when Wall Street couldn’t sell “derivative securities” based on “subprime” (read: “worthless”) mortgages, they switched to student loans. A $500,000 debt becomes, to someone else, a $500,000 asset which can be reflected in the multiple mirror-balls of “derivatives” to become $5 million or more in immediate (albeit, phantom …) cash. They have manufactured about $3 trillion in purely-imaginary money in this way, never mind that the loans can never be paid off or that there’s no chain-of-custody between the loans and the derivatives. Greed doesn’t care.

But it’s all a mockery. Higher education should be available to everyone at reasonable cost, and, until quite recently, it was. These debts should be voided, along with the derivatives made from them. College “expenses” should be overhauled with a bush hog.

New York (CNN Business)Employees for the online retailer Wayfair say they plan a walkout from company headquarters Wednesday in protest of the company selling furniture to migrant detention facilities.
According to a woman identifying herself as an employee of the company, Wayfair employees learned last week that an order for about $200,000 worth of bedroom furniture was placed by BCFS, which operates migrant facilities for the Department of Health and Human Services. BCFS is set to open a new facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, which will accommodate about 1,600 unaccompanied minors.
More than 500 employees sent a letter Friday to senior management, asking the company to no longer do business with BCFS. They also asked Wayfair to establish a code of ethics that “empowers Wayfair and its employees to act in accordance with our core values.” CNN has seen a copy of the email sent by employees to Wayfair senior management.
“The United States government and its contractors are responsible for the detention and mistreatment of hundreds of thousands of migrants seeking asylum in our country — we want that to end,” the employees said in the letter. “We also want to be sure that Wayfair has no part in enabling, supporting, or profiting from this practice.”

Wayfair management responded in a letter to employees, also obtained by CNN, saying it still plans to do business with BCFS.
“As a retailer, it is standard practice to fulfill orders for all customers and we believe it is our business to sell to any customer who is acting within the laws of the countries within which we operate,” the Wayfair’s leadership team said in the letter. “This does not indicate support for the opinions or actions of the groups or individuals who purchase from us.”
Wayfair has not yet responded to CNN’s request for comment.

Want a real solution? Here’s one. In-state tuition and fees at many top-tier universities is around $10,000 per year. At $12/hour that’s about 20 weeks work. Work a semester, go to school a semester. Commute from home and you won’t have to live with your parents when you graduate. Or get three room mates and live on rice and beans. It’s still possible to graduate with very little or no debt.

She went into her talking points about amt. of college debt and how much in default. Then asked the CEO’s about it.

First CEO—we stopped student loans in 2007
Second CEO- we stopped student loans in 2009
Third CEO–we stopped student loans in 2010

A few other points. Prior to 2005 college loans could be discharged into Bankruptcy with no problems. The Banks were basically left holding the bag and absorbing the loss. Guess you could say they were subsidizing college loans (humor).

Now with the New laws and Federal holding the college loan debt…..next to impossible to discharge in bankruptcy…they will/do garnish wages, and have seen some talk of even Social Security benefits- I am thinking that would be those who are under the SSD type deal.

Now, lets go back a few decades….when credit bureau first started (yeah, I am that old) college defaults were hardly reported. When they did start appearing…they were basically just brushed aside. yeah, as I was once told….with haughty snickers…by people who were making 100K plus–and that was late 70’s early 80’s—-No one pays their college loans. With looks of how naïve is this person?

Then technology changed. Now there are FICO scores. College debt IS included. Amazing. I wonder how many of those deadbeat parents sent their kids to college thinking their kids would just go the same route? Why open a 529 education account–just send the kids out…rack the college debt up…and then go the same route they did? Would be an interesting study for someone to do!

Banks have enough sins and crimes…..but in this case, looks like they got shafted enough and were probably VERY happy to drop this hot potato into the Federal Govt…and taxpayers lap.

So, Mad Maxine and her cohorts then began grilling the CEO’s on other highly relevant matters…asking them about climate change, diversity, etc…..really…watch the videos!

It can not be discharged so other then death there is no getting out of it ….So reduce the interest rate to merely the actually cost of keeping the books. It’s federal (our money) and we are charging students more then we charge banks for the same money. Anyone behind in payments take it from tax returns. Finally limit total Dept to 20to 30thousand for an undergraduate degree and watch the universities scramble to lower costs or shutter their doors.

Don’t have a clue about this. Perhaps a good move before the G20. Or maybe of minor interest.

Trump’s protocol ambassador resigns just before Trump’s Japan trip amid internal probe of alleged misconduct, including carrying a WHIP in the office

Chief of Protocol Sean Lawler is leaving just before Trump takes off for Japan
Has rank of ambassador and advises presidents on business meetings, ceremonies, and etiquette
Possible probe of intimidating staff, carrying a whip, Bloomberg reported
Trump has high-stakes meetings with heads of Russia, China, Japan, and other nations
Trump also visits South Korea for more tense nuclear diplomacy
    Lawler had no comment
A senior administration official said his extensive understanding ‘will be missed’.

The ambassador charged with overseeing protocol is being been forced to resign his job on the eve of a high-stakes visit by President Donald Trump to Japan and South Korea.

Chief of Protocol Sean Lawler is resigning his post, following reports of a possible internal probe of allegations of intimidation and harassment.

Lawler had no comment, and a senior administration official told DailyMail.com that Lawler ‘was respected by many and his extensive understanding of protocol and diplomacy will be missed.’

The sudden move comes just as the president prepares to meet one-on-one with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and other world leaders at the G20 summit here in Japan
Sean Lawler, the chief of protocol at the state department, is being pushed out following reports of an internal probe of misconduct

There were scant details immediately available about the reason for Lawler’s departure. Bloomberg reported he was accused of intimidating staff – and even carrying a whip around the office. He is not expected to return to his position.

The multi-leader forum includes multiple meetings where even the best-laid plans might not avoid diplomatic awkwardness. The Putin meeting once again puts Trump in the room with the leader the intelligence community assesses was behind Russia’s election hacking. The Xi meeting comes amid Trump’s threat to impose another $300 billion in tariffs amid a trade

Mary-Kate Fisher, Assistant Chief of Protocol, will be attending the summit in Lawler’s stead.

According to the State Department’s chief of protocol page: ‘Our team extends the first hand that welcomes presidents, prime ministers, ruling monarchs, and other leaders to our country. By serving on the front lines of diplomatic engagement, we promote cross-cultural exchange and build new bridges of understanding between people and governments around the world.’

The State Department did not immediately return a request for comment, and a Capitol Hill official was still gathering information on this.

Two officials told NBC Lawler had been suspended indefinitely, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

The assistant chief of protocol, Mary-Kate Fisher, will attend the summit meeting in his place. The second leg of the trip takes Trump to South Korea for more high-stakes nuclear diplomacy

“including carrying a WHIP in the office”

Hmmm, until I saw it explained in the next paragraph, I was about to ask if that meant “a whip” or whether “WHIP” (all caps) was an acronym for some kinda shoulder-fired rocket or something

Second thought I had was visions of Blazing Saddles or a DEVO video and people getting cigarettes bull-whipped outta their mouths

But my mind’s kinda associative like that …

    1. Stupid, e.g. AOC, Mad Maxine, Tippy Guam Johnson, to name a few of many
    2. Senile, e.g. San Fran Nan, Hoyer, Biden to name a few of many
    3. Crooked, e.g. EVERY DAMN one of them
    4. Treasonous, e.g. Chi Di Fi, Biden, HilLIARy, Obozo, Warner, Pelosi to name a few of many

The media-rats are the enemy of the people as President Trump has stated numerous times. They are inciting violence and hatred while promoting the worst people to ever hold elected office in the USA. We do not need stupid, crooked, mentally incompetent or treasonous people in positions of authority. I hope that something is done to stop them before it is too late. The latest expose on Google is the tip of the iceberg.

If you think about it – all you weak Trump supporters who have been all over conservative sites this past week arguing trump is weak – he actually listens to Nancy Pelosi – trump, once again, and again, and again – flushes out the real enemies of the American people, the forgotten – in the end, I trust trumps strategy far more than the impatient “just kill everybody” approach.

Im thinking of that really dumb woman who called Limbaugh on Monday and just ranted about trump caving to Nancy and this was her last straw and that’s it, trumps finished. There are millions of “conservative” hardliners that feel the same way. Just b*tchin about everything – cause trump is like, having success (15000 Mexican troops, flushing out Democrats and illegals like this guy, EO finding for the wall, et al), but it never seems to be enough for the hardliners. Drives me nuts.

That drives me nuts too. I often refer to these people as “armchair Presidents”. So easy for them to be critical of Trump, so hard to do what Trump is doing. I also think: do they regret not voting for Hillary? And who are they going to vote for in 2020? It’s just absurdity. Irrational toddlers you normally see on the libtard side are on our side as well, unfortunately. Waaaah, Trump doesn’t do every single thing I want him to do, waaaah, that’s it I’m not going to vote for him any more, waaaaaah. And then they’ll complain when the Dems take over and run everything into the ground. And they NEVER take the blame for the sh*tty House and Senate we’ve got. We voted those people into office, we’re responsible. We have to do better.

      • “Hard lines” don’t usually work. Anyhow, that’s what impatient politicians do. Trump is neither. He is patiently maneuvering people whom he knows are dumber than he is and in a bad position – but who are in that position nonetheless. Nancy Pelosi may be an old drunkard, but she’s better as Speaker – from Trump’s point of view – than anyone much more radical would be. Trump just has a nice big supply of rope. He doesn’t have to tie it. They’ll hang themselves.

If you want to know how Trump operates, read two books: The Art of the Deal, and, The Art of War.

    https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/06/25/slump-hits-big-media-because-they-lied-to-their-audience/

RUSH: Here’s the key line in the Axios story, “‘Trump Slump’ Hits Big Media.” Quote: “Democrats don’t appear to be the lifeline media companies are hoping can fill the gap for diminished Trump interest. Executives say they expect this week’s debate ratings to be nothing like the ratings for the 2016 Trump debates.” (chuckling) So they were hoping that interest in the Democrat presidential primary would pick up the slack for the so-called drop in interest in Trump. There is no drop in interest in Trump.

What has happened is the people are tired of being (on the case of the left) either lied to or set up for big things and let down. They just don’t trust ’em anymore. It’s not that Trump has become (chuckling) more boring. They’re covering him. And the fact is, they’re admitting that the Democrats — (sobbing) the lone hope to bring back hope and salvation to America to get rid of Donald Trump — are boring to people. This is more worthy… This little paragraph in this Axios story is worth more than any poll right now to tell you where the presidential race in 2020 is. It isn’t good for the Democrats.

    • Oh No- if everything was on the up and up, the Dems would be toast. But that’s not the case- far from it.

They have vowed to steal the 2020 election and have been working 24/7/365 on doing that ever since our President Trump was elected.

They completely control Big Media, the search engines (google), Big Tech, et al. and they’ve managed to continue expanding illegal voting for millions.

Their biggest Ace in the hole is skewing the Google results. Check out researcher Robert Epstein who shows how they can move millions of votes without leaving a trace.

Yet I detect no sense of urgency from the people on our side when it comes to dealing with these things. Everyone seems to counting on our President and his team to once more carry the day, do all the work, pull off a miracle like they did the last time.

Millions of us Deplorables are lined up willing to do whatever we can, but how much power do we really have? Not much.

      Color me worried.
