Friday June 21st – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Open borders, the arrival of hundreds of “refugees” from the Republic of Congo where there is a growing Ebola outbreak, basically means that it is only a matter of time before ebola infected people start arriving here from the Congo and other ebola outbreak locales. This video is a bit long but so you might want to skip around a bit. Still, this is scary as hell. The whole thing reminds me of a scene from “The Walking Dead” . . .

Bone chilling video, Garrison, and is the exact reason I’ve been fearful of and arguing against illegal immigration for so many years: spreading disease. Did you see the recent National Geographic show about the dire spread of ebola? I think it was called Hot Zone. It was based on actual events that took place in the Washington DC area and could have wiped us out. And yes, it certainly reminds me of Walking Dead. Ugh! I think I need a dose of Walking Blues after seeing that. NCPatrick

Agreed, and appears they are happy to import diseases for funding. Look at this

    • Well, you are all entitled to be scared if it makes you feel more alive or vigilant. However, the video is full of complete nonsense and it is factually, medically incorrect. It exists to tweak your worst fears. Some of the more obvious red flags and misstatements:

      1. The presenter’s main source of info remains anonymous. He keeps crediting the quality of their research without an indication of their credentials, what organization they work for or anything that would prove they actually exist. That means it’s rumor, period. Whistleblower laws would effectively protect any real person with a medical credential who came forward.

      2. The presenter can’t get even basic terms and methods of transmission right. There’s a section about currency handling where he keeps calling the money a “vector”. Money isn’t a vector. Money is a fomite, a dry object that can be touched. Unless a person has active external symptoms of Ebola, they can’t transfer any virus to money. Even then, they would have to have shat, bled or vomited on it very recently. The virus has to be wet to survive outside a body for more than a couple hours.

      3. One of the unnamed “expert” sources states definitively that there is no treatment for the disease and no medications. Both incorrect. Supportive treatments and anti-virals have cut the Ebola mortality rate from 90% (original) down to 65% IN THE CONGO ITSELF. In the US where we have better-equipped hospitals, the death rate is 33%.

4, The governmental spokesperson who he keeps ridiculing and whose information he states is a lie is telling the truth. A simple blood test can confirm whether a non-symptomatic person has had the virus and recovered. Because there is a current outbreak in the DRC, every one of the migrants would have been tested at intake and processing as a basic screening precaution. An exposed individual can’t pass the virus unless they ARE showing symptoms. The same test will indicate a positive for EVD three days from any initial symptom, including elevated temperature.

As stated in the video, a person could theoretically pass the virus to another for some time after recovering. What the video fails to note is that it would have to be male-to-partner transmission through semen, and that there are only a couple of such cases on record out of thousands who have survived. It’s a very serious disease, but much, much harder to catch than measles or chicken pox or flu, unless you have direct contact with the body fluids of a patient with active disease WITHOUT PROTECTIVE GEAR.

That there is no FDA-approved vaccine does not mean there isn’t one available. FDA approval requires both years AND the results from many cases. There haven’t been enough patients that have received one of the versions of the vaccine to gain approval to allow mass-manufacturing yet, so there’s no FDA approval.

I could go on and on with the falsehoods and distortions in this video, but I don’t believe in overly long comments. They tend to be quite boring. I deeply appreciate those who can get to the point.

It appears “pulls back” and “pulled back at the last moment” are the left’s approved mantras re: Trump’s Iran activity. One or the other is used in practically all the news coverage. I suspect we’ll discover he told the military to be prepared to strike if he made the decision, then hasn’t. Nice that we have leaks like that. NY Times states that Gov’t didn’t ask them to hold the story, which might offer some enlightenment to those who consider its meaning.

Trump has good reason to be cautious of the advice of hawks embedded in his administration, especially recalling the report of ‘weapons of mass destruction” perpetrated by certain people who were after Saddam’s gold, and destabilizing the region.

The largest refinery in the US East Coast which processes 335,000 barrels of crude oil per day, was mysteriously rocked by a terrifying loud explosion in the wee hours of this morning January 21, 2019 and is right now still burning though contained somewhat. The Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery’s demise directly impacts America’s oil supplies and oil prices. Is this serendipitous destruction and interruption of America’s energy independence barely hours after Iran downed one of America’s $160 million unmanned aircraft terrorism conducted here on American soil ?

      Along those same lines:

      The Apostle John

John 1:14-17 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld His glory, a glory as of an only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John witnesses concerning Him, and he cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I was saying, ‘The One coming after me has precedence over me, because He was before me.’” For from His fullness, we have all received and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

2 John 1:3 — “Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.”

Revelation 1:4-5 — “John, to the seven churches in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him being and who was and who is coming, and from the seven Spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.”

      The Apostle Peter

Acts 15:11 — “But we believe ourselves to be saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same manner as they also are.”

1 Peter 1:1-2 — “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by thesanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: may grace and peace be multiplied to you.”

1 Peter 1:10-13 — “Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought out and searched out diligently, having prophesied of the grace toward you, inquiring into what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them was signifying, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ and the glories after these, to whom it was revealed that they were serving not themselves, but you, in those things which now have been proclaimed to you by those having proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit having been sent from heaven, into which angels desire to look. Therefore having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober-minded, set your hope fully upon the grace being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ”

1 Peter 3:7 — “Husbands do likewise, dwelling with them according to knowledge, as with a weaker vessel, with the female, rendering honor as joint-heirs also of the grace of life, so as for your prayers not to be hindered.”

1 Peter 4:10 — “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

1 Peter 5:10-12 — “And the God of all grace, the One having called you to His eternal glory in Christ, of you having suffered a little while, He Himself will perfect, will confirm, will strengthen, and will establish you. To Him be the power to the ages of the ages. Amen. Through Silvanus, the faithful brother as I regard him, I have written to you through few words, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God, in which you stand.”

2 Peter 1:2 — “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”

2 Peter 3:18 — “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”

    • We should be tackling “illegal immigrants” as the 13th Amendment violation that it actually is – as an abuse of civil rights that makes the 1960’s look pale.

Businesses don’t want these people to be “legal.” They want slaves. They want someone who’ll do anything they’re told to do, and who can’t complain if they don’t get paid because “they’re not there.” We like to use euphemisms like “guest worker.” We insist that we couldn’t have avocados without this evil practice.

We also bring in millions of people on “non-immigrant visas” which literally creates indentured servants. Those people have permanently displaced millions of Americans from what used to be high-paying jobs.

We’ve never been truthful with ourselves about what is actually going on here. We’re not seeing these people as fellow human beings whose rights are being abused both in their own home country and in this one. We can do better than this.

“But ye are…a royal priesthood.” 1 Peter ii. 9

By what right do we become “a royal priesthood”? By the right of the Atonement. Are we prepared to leave ourselves resolutely alone and to launch out into the priestly work of prayer? The continual grubbing on the inside to see whether we are what we ought to be generates a self-centered, morbid type of Christianity, not the robust, simple life of the child of God. Until we get into a right relationship to God, it is a case of hanging on by the skin of our teeth, and we say – What a wonderful victory I have got! There is nothing indicative of the miracle of Redemption in that. Launch out in reckless belief that the Redemption is complete, and then bother no more about yourself, but begin to do as Jesus Christ said – pray for the friend who comes to you at midnight, pray for the saints, pray for all men. Pray on the realization that you are only perfect in Christ Jesus, not on this plea – “O Lord, I have done my best, please hear me.”

How long is it going to take God to free us from the morbid habit of thinking about ourselves? We must get sick unto death of ourselves, until there is no longer any surprise at anything God can tell us about ourselves. We cannot touch the depths of meanness in ourselves. There is only one place where we are right, and that is in Christ Jesus. When we are there, then we have to pour out for all we are worth in this ministry of the interior.

introspective takes a brave person, you go to the depths of your own hell to rescue or release? Embracing your faults and fears is the path to freeing yourself from your own eternal torment. The Holy Spirit grips your hand and says ” let’s go” once all the emotion is drained and power from each shadow then it’s off to the next exhibit.
When God is with you, he can turn every obstacle into a blessing, so it becomes an adventure “if” you let go. The “reckless belief” he eludes to. ” Beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning”. Then self is gone, you are left with the path to help others. The stumbling block becomes the stepping stone, Jesus is that rock.

The two greatest commandments are to love God and love others. Rather than morbid introspection, leave it behind by simply dying to oneself and focusing on those two commandments.

Phil 2:12 …continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. 13 for it is God (the Holy Spirit) who works in you to will and act on my behalf of his good purpose.
“Morbid introspective” the mirror, is the word, your reflection is what you see by the grace of Gods spirit. God will not do anything unless you allow/ask to cleanse any unrighteousness. How will you know unless you see, how will you see unless you look? “Introspective”, that morbid disgusting act of cleaning your own “room” so you can be like Jesus, and die to flesh. It does not contradict Gods commands only expounds on “how” to achieve.
