    • MINARETS ? A week ago or so, I sarcastically commented that Macron’s new and better ND might have MINARETS. This week, architects are promoting MINARETS on the new, better ND. What is wrong with these people? They are clinically insane, masochistic, suicidal, self loathing psychos suffering from severe Stockholm Syndrome. Malmo Syndrome!

Read some talk of term limits on a prev page… I paused and thought for a second.

If term limits aren’t one’s fancy, how about an alternate form:

Like not a strict limit on terms, but certains hurdles that must be jumped, after sitting in power for more and more terms?

Idk: like say some people want a 10 year limit in congress or something.

So instead of limiting senators to 2 and reps to 5 you might consider that after 1 term for senators and 4 terms for reps (just throwing numbers out) that ALL Their financial reports since becoming into office become public: all tax forms, that of any stake in company’s and there deals, foundations, etc. and so on?

Would that be harder or easier to pass than just strict term limits?

Thing is: problem with term limits (as some wise kids knew) was that you might get lucky and wanna keep your dude there in action….

When it’s really the corruption this issue is concerned with…
And so it’s mostly the (evidence) of corruption such a measure is focused on…
Leaving room for the saintly servant to serve at the pleasure of his people as long as they so wish.

    Or something…..

The very obvious flaw in term limits is every Senator/Rep would become a lame duck at some point. They won’t care what damage they can do if they’re leaving office. It’s a terrible idea.

They don’t care now. And it’s not a terrible idea. If they can’t get wealthy by sitting in office for decades they won’t want the position. Only people that believe in the good of the country will want the job if they can’t gain wealth and retain power.

Again, they already DO NOT FOLLOW THEIR CONSTITUENTS. They vote for their high dollar donors. That’s it.

If the 17th Amendment is repealed the selection of Senators goes back to the individual State legislatures. This puts terms limits back into the sphere the Founders intended, the people elect their individual State legislatures, those change according to the popular preferences within the states on a regular basis, and thus those State legislatures can change who represents their State’s interest on the national level – term limits the way they were intended to be.

      • PatriotKate says:

The beauty of the original 17th Amendment is that there was no Term. Period.

Because every Senator was subject to Recall at any time — at the choice of the State Legislature. That kept a tight rope by the State on their Senators. That meant one could much more easily go protest their Senators actions at the state level.

One of the worst things that ever happened was the change to direct election of our Senators and a term of office.

Well, a few bits and bobski’s from the Kim Putin meeting.

As I said before, Kim Supreme fatty 3 of all the Korean People activated the Russian leg of his three-legged stool now that the Hanoi summit was an abject failure and his lashing out at Neville Chamberlain Moon for being a Nosey Parker thinking he is a mediator. He has refused his calls, like a betrayed lover. Meanwhile, sending hate messages to South Korea for the audacity of having military training exercises with the US.

The summit and first meet and greet with the son of Kim Jong-il, born in Russia (little Yuri) by the way, and Grandpa, and founder of the DPRK, Kim Ill-sung, who served in the Soviet Red Army was influenced by the ups and downs navigating between Russia and China and Kim1 and 2’s retreat to the Juche , go it alone, Korea for Koreans philosophy tricked out in Marxist terms as the communist world changed.

By all accounts and the official photos, news interviews in Russia it was a farce. First it was not in the Kremlin, but a second rate University in Vladivostok not even a military cruiser around Russky island like his dad had. When Kim’s train arrived, the train missed the mark and his lackeys tried to realign his red carpet. Farse. Kim must think he is in a movie, dressed like a 1930s Shanghai gangster. The meet and greet with Putin was smiles and deadpan. The one on one was also a bit farcical, as the Russians had to cut the red carpet to the venue and tack it down with sticky tape. Kim’s Lackeys were caught on camera disinfecting his chair. Lol.

All of Putin’s comments were aligned with China’s road map, telling Kim he needs to get on with the US negotiations and setting out his support of Six Party Talks, that deals Russia in to the equation. Some cooperations, some other deals, letting more students to study in Russia, but vague nonetheless.

After the banquet of Borscht, reindeer dumplings, seafood and caviar, and the clinking of toasts. Putin skived off to Beijing for the BRI. did not even stay the night.

The next day Kim was scheduled to lay a wreath at the Soviet martyrs who fought in the Korean War. A special military band was flown in from Moscow, a red carpet laid. no Kim. The carpet was rolled up and after two hours Kim finally showed up.

Not exactly a triumph, more window dressing and very amusing moments. Hopefully Kim will recalibrate his position. So far, only President Trump has the open hand. Grasp it.
    I had a laugh.

He first came to the United States on a visitor’s visa in 1999, records show.
That same year, he got married to a US citizen in a so-called green card marriage. He paid his bride, whom he first met on their wedding day, $500, the woman would later tell federal investigators.
His attempt to obtain a green card through the marriage failed when it ended in divorce in 2002. But Shqaire married a second time later that same year. This time the union lasted longer, and he was able to apply for and receive status as a legal permanent resident. Throughout the process, he indicated he’d never been arrested and was not a member of any group, according to records.
In 2008, in the final stage of his pursuit of US citizenship, he was questioned under oath by an immigration officer in Los Angeles. He again omitted his past conviction and ties to the PLO.
The US immigration officer who handled Shqaire’s application said she relied on him to “provide complete and truthful answers” about his criminal past and associations, according to court records. Had he done so, the records state, she would have requested further documentation.
        Instead, she approved his application.
Two years later, Shqaire came onto the radar of US terrorism investigators, according to documents and interviews. He was questioned about repeated money transfers to the Palestinian city of Ramallah and was characterized in court records as a “subject of interest” to the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Los Angeles in 2011.

The “DOJ are really nice people doing a great job” crowd are certainly abuzz about this Rosenstein speech. Important to remember Rosenstein oversaw the Mueller investigation. If he claims to be for the rule of law dispassionately dispensed then how on earth did he allow the investigation proceed for over a year using a theory of obstruction that the Office of Legal Counsel (and Rod freaking Rosenstein himself) decided was flawed not to mention the other obvious prosecutorial overreaches and questionable charges. Having let them pursue this angle and proceed almost indefinitely he then attaches his name to the conclusion that this not a valid theory. What a joke.

If he was not a lying rat bastard he would have ended the Mueller investigation in December 2017 and would have had at least a solid argument that he was finishing an investigation dropped in his lap. The next year and half of using a flawed obstruction construct to keep the investigation going is all on him. There is no excuse for this.

Rosenstein may not be a completely evil POS like McCabe but somehow that has fooled some smart people into believing he is a good guy. Rosenstein owns a huge chunk of this mess. Just cause President Trump didn’t fire him doesn’t prove anything. They would have used that firing as proof of obstruction so he had no choice.

Actions speak way louder than words and Rosenstein’s actions do not match his pretty rhetoric.

Over 1,000 migrants break out of southern Mexico detention center

TAPACHULA (Reuters) – More than a thousand migrants broke out of a detention center in southern Mexico on Thursday evening, authorities said, in a fresh sign of how a surge in arrivals has stretched the country’s resources to the limit. More than half of the roughly 1,300 migrants later returned to the Siglo XXI facility in the border city of Tapachula in Chiapas state, but about 600 are still unaccounted for, the National Migration Institute said in a statement.

Migrants from Cuba, who make up the majority of the people being held at the center, were largely behind the breakout, the institute added. Mexican newspaper Reforma reported that Haitians and Central Americans were also among those who fled the facility, which has been crammed with people. Mexico has returned 15,000 migrants in the past 30 days, officials have said, amid pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump to stem the flow of people north. On Wednesday Trump reiterated threats to close part of the U.S.-Mexico border if Mexico doesn’t block what described as a new caravan of migrants headed north. The majority of migrants moving through Mexico are from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, but Cubans are also joining in large numbers. More than 1,000 people from Cuba are now in Chiapas, according to Mexican officials.

If Alabamians are have not been and are not involved in their county and state GOP then they will have people run that are GOPe. We have to be involved at the grassroots, ground level of the GOP to know who is who and to encouraged MAGA candidates to run in the primaries and then to support others to support the MAGA candidates.

If you wait to get involved after the candidates have declared you have already missed a good portion of the battle. But do get involved and learn who is MAGA and who is Uniparty GOPe. And then Work to get them elected!

We can not rely on the primary process to nominate a MAGA candidate and to learn about the candidates. GOPe controlled local and state GOP will shield GOPe candidates from scrutiny and tip the scales in other ways as well.

There is a MAGA/GOPe battle going on in county and state GOPs across the nation and you need to be involved so that we get MAGA candidates in the primary, so that the MAGA candidates have a fair shot, so that we have MAGA candidates against the Dems in the general and so that the GOP MAGA candidates win the general elections.

This is NOT a spectator sport and we do Not magically get MAGA candidates based out of desire. If you are not helping MAGA win then you are contributing to a GOPe win/MAGA loss.

One of my best friends parents are “escapees” of communism from the eastern block of europe back when it fell to communism. They have the most fascinating stories of how they escaped. His father told me that after crawling under fences with armed guards and trekking through back woods in winter making his way to Western Europe, working odd jobs as a mechanic and finally catching a boat to the US to seek asylum, when he stepped off the boat the CIA grabbed him up. They said they had been following his entire journey to America and know what he is capable of and they would like to recruit him to go back and be a spy. They offered him a lot of money. He told them to go pound sand. He said there was no chance he would go back to that hell hole and risk losing the chance to live a free life. Not for any amount of money.

I am telling this story because both him and my buddy’s mother told me on separate occasions that they were terrified when Obama was running for office. They said he was saying the EXACT same things the communists said before they usurped control of their country and started killing everyone. His mother pleaded with me to run for office because she saw that I understood and she didn’t believe the republicans in America truly grasped what they were up against. These were very sobering conversations I had. It not only reinforced my beliefs were right about these people, it proved it.

If America wasn’t descending into a “celebrity” culture where the currency for power & respect is being famous, while being famous is based on shock value, or as a idol or just someone who has the appearance of being cool (Justin, Macron, Obama etc) such a suggestion would be impossible.

Groping Biden has a lot of baggage.

The DNC is pulling all the strings for Biden, they don’t want a socialist nominee, they want a regular old progressive lefty, you know run of the mill dem, now the Bernie people will stay home or vote for Trump if they screw Bernie again, and they will, We should be concerned, we shouldn’t assume this will be a cake walk for Potus, this will be a fight worse than 2016, stay strong and fight anyway you can.

I think the Dems are gonna go for impeachment. The Lawfare blog crowd (Wittes et al) who provide legal strategy for the DNC have come down firmly on the side of impeachment. What worries me are the 20 RINO senators needed to convict. Romney has obviously been selected to act as a leader of the impeachment RINOs. I don’t think we can relax at all. The coup conspirators have not given up. Could be a race to death. Release as many documents and expose the origins of the coup before Nadler carries out his impeachment plans.

Maybe, but I doubt it. IMO big $ and establishment will make sure Biden is the nominee. If Sanders was true to his principles he would not run as a Dem. Like Nader who never had a chance, but he still ran under the Green party even though he likely would have had more exposure, support and $ if he ran as a Dem.

The progressive wing of the dem party does not want Biden in the race, despite creepy Joe being the immensely popular Obama’s VP (I really doubt the Washington Examer’s assertion here regarding Obama’s popularity).

The Bernie Sanders campaign put out the following statement to the communist’s supporters

“There are a lot of candidates in this race right now. But there is only one Bernie Sanders. You know that. Let’s have a big day for our campaign today. This is important. So thank you for contributing to our fight,” Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir wrote in the email.

I can only say I’m glad there is only one Bernie Sanders.

    Offshore Drilling..

The propaganda machine machinations continues.. Chain down America and Enterprising Americans.. If let loose – the American People will become a powerhouse.. Too powerful..

Cue running around with your hair on fire.. The beaches..! The whales..!

Nobody wants oil on their beaches.. Especially Floridians.. I can understand that..

But let’s take a look at reality.. Offshore drilling has occurred for over one hundred years.. 100..

How many oil stained, ecologically, uninhabitable, destroyed beaches are along the Gulf Coast? Hmm..

From Port Isabel, TX to Mobile Bay.. There are.. None.. After over 100 years of drilling..

Florida in chains.. Restrained from becoming an even bigger economic, independent, sovereign, powerhouse..

Energy is Power.. Energy is Independence..

    Smoke and mirrors..
