I’m just going to drop this in here, SMH — https://hotair.com/headlines/archives/2019/01/trump-point-world-start-solving-problems/ . Money quote: “The US must be the safest country on the planet. Its home territory has never been so much as menaced by a foreign power, let alone invaded.”

Let’s see here….seems like the White House burned in 1814, but that must have been a kitchen malfunction. Andrew Jackson did something with a bunch of British in New Orleans in January 1815, but they were maybe tourists. Or migrants. Whatever.

Pancho Villa did something in Columbus, New Mexico in 1916, but that must have been a street party gone out of control.

The Japanese military held a picnic and cultural festival on Attu and Kisku, Alaska in 1942, which ended after 34,000 US troops politely requested that they leave. That was, of course, well after that air show gone wrong on December 7, 1941. It was also well after the incident where California was shelled in February, 1942.

I’m sure I could waste more clock-cycles on this drivel and either recall or find more examples.

Just because the US doesn’t have a 2,000 year history of waving white flags doesn’t mean we haven’t faced threats — it means we weren’t pushovers.
