Glad they did vote this down, even though their reasons had nothing to do with how unconstitutional it is.

For those reading who advocate for Congress to abide by the limitations in the Constitution, and who think R. Paul is a constitutionalist, consider this…

      1. The Constitution does not provide a budget per se. He does. Any laws saying we should have a budget are unconstitutional as it takes an amendment, not a law to properly authorize a “budget”.

2.The Enumerated Powers IS the budget. The authorized subjects the federal government may address IS the budget.

      3. There is no authority in the Constitution to spend money on matters Congress has no authority to address.

      4. This resolution provides money for such non-enumerated subjects as “General Science, Space, and Technology”, “Energy”…among many other subjects that are not authorized.

      Still think he’s constitutional?

If some here think he’s better than most, this resolution is sure a sad commentary on where we are with the only rule book for Congress.

I am not trying to pillory a good man, just illustrating where we are today as opposed to where we need to get to if we are to have a federal government that is limited.

Seems the big sticking point for Canada is that the US wants a 5 yr sunset clause… meaning renegotiate every 5 yrs. This is how he dissed the President – said it had to be explained in real estate terms… you build on a piece of land but the land is leased for 5 yrs, who would make that deal? IDIOT TRUDEAU! Trade is nothing like a real estate deal.

I don’t blame him for dissing the President, though. Canada will no longer be allowed to float by doing asinine things but benefiting because of NAFTA and their comparitively low tax rate.

The U.S. now has a better (or close) corporate tax rate…and no NAFTA unfairly tilting the playing field.

And about “welcoming” all immigrants to Canada—did he say that in order to do that, he’d have to override the tough Canadian laws about who gets admitted and who not? And betcha, just wait until the Indigenous Peoples and the French Canadians wake up to the massive influx of “Syrian migrants” into their jobs.

So Marco lays plain the fix is in. The US senate Republican Keep supporting Mueller saying they have faith in him, despite the thuggish actions he has displayed. Why? Mueller is their guy.

If you listen through you will see the Senate is going to cover for the IC investigation into the Trump campaign. The narrative is starting from Republican senators that what Brennon, Clapper and Commey did was justified because the Russians were trying to influance the election for Trump.

I still believe that the Mueller investigation is run by the Republican establishment to control Trump. They will get from a Trump presidency what they want and try and check MAGA and remove him if necessary. Sessions was one of these established senators. His recuse set the whole thing up.

Ross is doing a great job of connecting the dots on exactly how the Trump campaign was set up the the spies/moles. Great work from him, both in this piece and over time on this issue.

You have to really lay out the timeline and the sequence of events for people to grasp exactly how the plot was carried out. And Ross is doing that, as are people like McCarthy (and Sundance, of course).

Also, it looks like that Turk woman was being used as something of a honey trap (romantic lure) for Papadopolous. Just one more dirty trick that Halper and his gang employed.

More on how honey traps work:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_trapping

In this instance, Turk (Halper’s assistant) seemed to be flirting with Papadopolous likely with the intent of trying to get him to go along with whatever Halper wanted Papadopolous to do.

Maersk just cut off all shipments in and out of Iran.
In 15 years of import/export business, I’ve never seen this kind of action by Maersk or to a specific country.
Maersk is the largest shipping company in the world. The gold standard of shipping.
If Maersk stops all shipments in/out of Iran, others will follow, because Maersk’s action changes the insurance rating for all other shipping lines.
This, effectively, stops commerce in Iran.
    It’s stunning.
Imagine all the goods, already manufactured, sitting in ports, or still in factories, that can no longer go into or out of Iran. It shuts down commerce.
    Wow, just wow.

There is one shipping line some of us use, called Msc or Mediterranean Shipping Line. I refuse to use them because they are so cheap and dirty, take forever to trans-ship, but MSc does a lot of business between Iran and China.
MSC also announced pullout of IRAN. Along with the subsidiary of Maersk who has oil tankers.

    China RUNS ON IRANIAN OIL.

For Bandar Abbas to no longer have a Maersk ship in port is a HUGE deal. The effects of this action will immediately ripple though an economy.

And our once-reliable power network is wobbly, especially when “renewable” generation peaks and no-one wants to buy the excess.

There are some countries who’ve installed buffer trafos so that they can effectively firewall our excess juice at the border. Oh, joy. On top of that, we get to pay for all that unused power, effectively subsidizing our neighbor countries, who end up paying NEGATIVE power rates to us on the wholesale market.

And when the sun doesn’t shine, and the wind doesn’t blow, we still pay as if those sites were generating electricity! Our rates have doubled in only a few years…

I can deal with that now,….at this ppb, our producers will be induced to expand their infrastructure, setting us up for a future with even less domestic pain as the world oil markets do what they do. We can (and should) rely on no one but ourselves for our domestic energy needs. It’s all good, building out our energy infrastructure now means jobs in the short term, and stability in the longer term.

The U.S. sanctions aim to limit companies from any country from dealing with Iran by prohibiting them from using American banks in their operations. Pergas seems to do little business in the U.S., potentially giving it more freedom to operate in Iran.

French oil and gas giant Total has decided to cancel a multi-billion-dollar project in Iran unless it is granted a waiver by U.S. authorities. The group said in a statement Wednesday that it “cannot afford to be exposed to any secondary sanction” including the loss of financing by American banks.

“We’re not going to choose one camp over another. We’re not going to be the allies of Iran against the United States of America”, Macron said in a news conference in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Another example of how Trump uses the economic leverage of the USA, the largest market in the world, to affect foreign affairs. The reinstated sanctions against Iran means that the French can either do business with Iran (a small economy) and give up entry into the USA market or they can continue to do business with the USA and give up the small Iran market. Easy choice for France and Total.

Sundance, I wanted to post the clip of Andrew McCarthy talking to FOX & Friends this morning. The link here is teed up to the portion of the video with McCarthy’s remarks:

Two reasons why this is important.

    1. Trump tweeted about this interview (a remark McCarthy made during it). The media now is desperately trying to rebut the tweet and the “Trump spied on by Obama” information associated with it.

    2. McCarthy makes an incredibly important point in this interview that further exposes the fake NYT spin piece on Crossfire Hurricane.

I did not read the piece, but it apparently tries to paint the FBI in a favorable light because they supposedly (as noble actors) publicized the Hillary investigation during the campaign and refrained from doing the same with Trump.

What McCarthy says, instead, is that because the investigation against Trump was counter-intelligence, the FBI was forbidden from talking about it since all counter-intelligence investigations are classified. Hillary’s case was criminal, and thus not classified (it seems).

McCarthy also says that the CI investigation against Trump was only done in hopes of making it into a criminal case (as we all know). But this important information about the case being CI/classified totally blows up the “we actually helped Trump by not talking about the case publicly” spin supposedly in the NYT article from yesterday.

Thanks, Sandra. Yes, I should read it. I just can’t stand giving them the click.

As you said yesterday, it is 100% narrative spinning (from what I’ve seen). Just as they, in the past, changed the story from “Dossier and Page key to investigation starting” to “Papadoplous was the key.”

This is a farce. But the public doesn’t know that and so the PR can work.

More will come out, of course. McCarthy is doing a great job and I’m glad that Trump mentioned him again. What he said in this interview is very important, several things.

Acts 12:21-23 should give you pause:

21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

I don’t think President Trump would like being addressed by either one of those titles, as he is not God, nor a god, nor Emperor: our Founding Fathers explicitly wanted NO Royalty in the US government, and our Heavenly Father does not permit any gods but Himself.

President Trump, as a Christian would definitely agree, as he both gives GOD credit for what HE’s done (and does) for the President, and humbly worships HIM.
Remember (as noted above) what happened to Herod when he did not give credit to GOD…

VSGPDJT is a common (yet apt) appellation – Very Stable Genius President Donald J. Trump.

N.B. There were “God Emperors” in Rome, Japan, and apparently in North Korea. It might sound nice, but those all had VERY negative consequences. Could well be related to what hit Herod…

“Larry Kudlow, who took over as director of the National Economic Council (NEC) after Gary Cohn’s departure last month, is so far demonstrating extraordinary leadership in being able to reconcile the disparate factions within the Trump administration, all the while promoting growth-centered policies that would only strengthen an economy already in its best shape in years.

Naturally, Mr. Kudlow’s transition to his current role was made easier by inheriting an economy rejuvenated by one of the largest across-the-board tax cuts and reforms in modern American history. Unemployment has reached its lowest point in nearly two decades; wages are up categorically; a moribund manufacturing sector is beginning to show signs of wholesale recovery; and labor participation, though still a far cry from where it should be, is nonetheless moving in a positive direction…

…. To his credit, Mr. Kudlow in his short duration as NEC director has already put forth a slew of additional proposals – including a second round of tax cuts that could make permanent some of the measures of the tax reform bill, the administration’s crowning legislative achievement to date, such as business investment incentives and further reductions in personal income tax. An infrastructure bill, a re-evaluation of NAFTA and the TPP, and another stab at health care are additional policies on the docket, though each is accompanied by numerous political hurdles…”

The question for me, since the grant rate on warrants back then was 100% (effectively), whether the judges even batted an eyelash at a lot of this. Since they did have some issues on these FISA requests, maybe the the judge just reasoned that the gov really wants it with these multiple requests so, ok!
