Wednesday March 7th – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

  1. Everyone here knows my opinion of Lyin’ Canadian Ted but……..TX isn’t even CLOSE to going blue!!!!

“U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) received more votes in the 2018 Republican Primary election than the entire turnout of voters in the Democratic Primary. The results shed a new perspective on the media-hyped “blue wave” stories from the weeks leading up to election day.

In the Republican Primary of 2018, Senator Cruz received 1,317,450 votes in a race with four challengers. His Democrat opponent, U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke only received 641,311 votes against two opponents.

Figures from the Secretary of State’s office show that just over one million voters turned out in the Democratic Primary in general across Texas. Cruz alone exceeded the entire Democratic voter turnout by nearly 300,000 votes.”

  2. Looks like AG Sessions has ammo’ed up!!!!

“SACRAMENTO, California — U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions compared California’s “sanctuary state” laws to the historic defiance of the South against the federal government in a speech to law enforcement officials on Wednesday.

Sessions addressed the “legislative day” gathering of the California Peace Officers Association (CPOA), hours after the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against three of California’s “sanctuary state” laws in federal court Tuesday evening.

The CPOA had opposed one of those laws, SB 54, which restricts cooperation between state and local law enforcement with federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and which went into effect in January.

The Attorney General stridently made the case against California’s resistance to federal immigration law, making reference to the South’s stands against the federal government over tariffs and slavery:

Immigration law is the province of the federal government. This Administration and this Justice Department are determined to make it work effectively for the people.

I understand that we have a wide variety of political opinions out there on immigration. But the law is in the books and its purpose is clear.

There is no nullification. There is no secession. Federal law is “the supreme law of the land.” I would invite any doubters to Gettysburg, and to the graves of John C. Calhoun and Abraham Lincoln.

A refusal to apprehend and deport those, especially the criminal element, effectively rejects all immigration law and creates an open borders system. Open borders is a radical, irrational idea that cannot be accepted.

Sessions also had harsh words for Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who had warned illegal aliens of impending ICE raids late last month: “How dare you. How dare you needlessly endanger the lives of law enforcement just to promote your radical open borders agenda.”

Anyone catch Tucker Carlson’s “Men In America” segment this evening?
    Wow. Profound.
Carlson lays out a case that the American male (especially young boys and men) are in a crisis.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
