Friday April 14th – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Congressman [Markwayne Mullin, Republican] To Constituents – “You Don’t Pay My Salary …”:
    By Michael Tennant
“You say you pay for me to do this,” Mullin said. “Bullcrap. I pay for myself. I paid enough taxes before I got here [Congress] and continue to through my company to pay my own salary. This is a service. No one pays for me to go.” …

I would suggest not flying United for a while. 🙂

United faces yet another passenger horror story

And the hits just keep on coming.

A passenger on a United flight was stung by a scorpion which fell from an overhead compartment and on to his head the same day a doctor was forcibly dragged from his seat to make room for the airline’s crew members, a report says

As foretold by the prophets of old,
Our Messiah would suffer and die.
All in God’s will and for grace to us,
He was whipped and beaten and crucified.

Praise God for giving us a living hope,
Through Jesus, now risen from the dead.
And for an inheritance, kept for us,
Eternal, unspoiled, as He has said.

Though we have not seen our Savior, Christ,
We love Him for all that He has done.
We believe and are now gloriously filled
With unspeakable joy from our Holy One.

Praise God, the Father of our Lord Christ,
For His mercy and our blessed new birth,
To live in His will and for His glory,
Until we are called to leave this earth.

Stories about Donald Trump and the prayers that were said for him over the years.

In the 1980s, the Hermit of Loreto predicted Trump would lead America back to GOD. He gave a brick to be placed in the Vatican to ensure that many prayers would be said for DJT since the 1980s.

When Rev. David Jeremiah came to Madison Square Garden in NYC to teach on the Bible, Donald Trump came and listened intently. During the 2016 campaign, David Jeremiah prayed for Donald Trump in person along with numerous other pastors:

During the Presidential campaign year, Franklin Graham went to every state capitol and prayed with thousands of people of that state, and the night before the election, he prayed with over 780,000 people on video/online. Franklin Graham prayed at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

That RC website (Hermit of Loreto) is beautiful. I’m saving it.

      Thank you.

I don’t think I’ve ever prayed harder than I did that night. Part of me felt guilty, was I really praying about politics, and DONALD TRUMP?
I can see now that I’m not the only person for whom the election had religious significance, thanks for the reaffirmation.

You are most certainly not alone. I can’t remember ever praying so much and so hard for a political candidate. I offered daily Mass over several weeks before the election for God to shed His divine protection to our beloved country and prevent HRC and her evil campaign from taking control of our America. God answered!

Ancient sacred art resurrected in city of Jesus’s birth

Bethlehem (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) – Down a Bethlehem alleyway, sunlight illuminates a golden icon of the Virgin Mary and Jesus, signalling the revival of an ancient art being practised in the workshop inside.

The building near the Church of the Nativity — the site where Christians believe Jesus was born — houses a group of enthusiasts specialising in the sacred art of iconography.

I had to get off of the Good Friday thread. The expressions of faith were too powerful for me to withstand at this time.
It was easier for me to get my head around Easter as a small child, before I got too caught up in worldly junk.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
