      • Bob, I’m OK with putting God above country, if he’s putting money and power above country then I have a problem. If he’s truly a God fearing Christian then he will let God decide what happens.

      • Bob,

Mike Pence is a follower of Christ. He has self-control among other fruit of the Spirit. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all things shall be added to you.”

This may be unusual and disconcerting because of the nature of politics; but I am glad to see someone in a high position actually live out his faith for all to witness.

It shouldn’t be unusual. Every Christian had better be putting God above all else. What do you think Jesus meant when he said if you put ANYTHING, including family before him you are not worthy of him?

Pence has W’s and Jeb’s physical mannerisms and speech patterns. It’s spooky. That’s what creeps me out. Go to the start and watch the first three minutes with the sound off. It’s weird. Did GHWB spend a night in Indiana 57 years ago?

Grandson of an Irish immigrant. Just had to get that “immigrant” comment in.

Israel first. Great. /s What happened to America first? That didn’t last long.

And what does he close with? Something from Romans, perhaps Romans 5:1-5? Maybe Romans 10:9-13? No. He quotes 2Chronicles 7:14. Another Old Testament Christian, reading the wrong books and using the OT for applause lines.

      Less than excited.

And if all you read and quote from is the OT you find yourself talking about the Jews being the “chosen people,” wanting to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, advocating an Israel-first foreign policy, and completely not getting it. One could do worse than to read nothing but the New Testament, and for that matter just focusing on Romans would get you there. Romans 10:9 sums it up nicely. Then read the rest of Romans. Several times. Take notes.

The only thing I care about is that Pence gets Trump’s 15% tax rate, reform effective 2017 tax year, and ObamaCare repeal and replace ASAP (stop the 3 crappy part time jobs that todays workers work instead of the single good full time job they used to have before ObamaCare).

I could give a tinkers damn about speeches. I want to see legislative results. That is his task.

Once that is done I will have a positive opinion. I have my Ryan doubts and Pence owns the Ryan choice for speaker.

He would express surprise during the campaign at each new level revealed …like that dang pledge to support the eventual nominee, which they made up and made him take as it was simply about stopping him. As it turned out only Mr. Trump meant keep it. They broke that pledge without a thought of shame, indeed they only had confusion about what was the problem when he called them out on it….and so it goes on. He keeps waiting for them to add input, but I believe he now knows he’s on his own for the time being.

I was under the impression that Pence was selected because he was a perfect bridge to deal with congress. I understand all to well that he is “limited” in what he can and can’t do. Having been a member of Congress as well as a state Governor it appears that Pence is sitting on the fence instead of calling members of congress into his office for a private little chat on the presidents agenda and timelines. Just my opinion.

As far as firing Pence…that should not and will not happen. He certainly could be more vocal about the GOP delays and lies to his own Party though. I understand the Uniparty a so does he. His influence in the Evangelical sector of our nation is great. I believe that the Evangelicals want to see some action here as well. With a majority in both houses of congress, the expectative branch, State governorships, and (hopefully soon in the supreme court) it would appear to be an ideal time to pull our country up and out of the mud in a timey manner.

I don’t get the hostility here by some towards Pence. Sure, he isn’t Trump, but personality wise he was a good choice. Plus he helped with the evangelical vote in the general which was extremely important(even if I disagree with them on some issues)

So far Pence has seemed pretty loyal to me. Yes, I’m sure he and Trump probably disagree on some issues. However, Trump himself has said he does not want to be surrounded by people who agree with him on everything. Overall though, Pence has represented the President well in my opinion. I would rather focus on the obvious enemy instead of pointing my fingers and accusing someone who at least so far hasn’t shown to be disloyal.

Governor Pence was my governor. In Indiana he wasn’t very charismatic, tending to work in his office.

He has been absolutely transformed by his contact with President Trump. My friends and I talk about this all the time. It truly is amazing,, just as is the transformation of Reince Priebus from a guy with the personality of a low-key clerk into a stand-up guy who hangs with Steve Bannon. I take this as hopeful signs of how the country itself can be transformed.

I understand that after 8 years of suffering under Obama while our politicians didn’t defend us, it’s easy to think that more surrender will happen, or that there are plots everywhere. This isn’t helpful, though.

We cannot constantly live with the Spirit of Fear. This is not what God wants for us, and we do not have to succumb to it.

Pence is a good man. He’s not President Trump, but he is a solid Christian man with no guile in him. He gave up his governorship to run as VP. He must have believed in DJT, as it was a huge risk to take. In addition, the others in the cabinet are men of outstanding credentials and would not be party to such double-dealing as is hinted at by some here.

My policy normally is that when I start to see this type of paranoia, I quit reading the comments. I made an exception tonight because I wanted to find someone who thought as I do and support their response.

People need to support the President AND HIS CHOICES, and knock off all of this talk about disloyal staff and VP. It’s not helpful at all.

Thanks to all who take the time to read my post. Good night.

Thank you – I may have overlooked the entire “conversation” due to my disgust of my own governor Doug Ducey – If there is one thing I am so sick of in this state/and pretty much until Trump – sick of hearing promises and what they need to say to get elected…

Doug Ducey ran on this opposition to common core and standardize testing and promises to improve our public education, but once he won the race.. instead…

“H.B. 2190 has been approved by the Arizona state House and Senate Education Committee and now awaits a vote in the full Senate. If enacted, the bill would “prohibit the use of Common Core standards and establishes a process for the State Board of Education (SBE) to redevelop statewide academic standards and assessments.”

In addition, Ducey said Arizona would keep the AzMERIT test, which Arizona has adopted to test students on the rebranded Common Core standards.”

I can tell you that the REBRANDED common core for Arizona last year – AZMERIT – produced worse test scores than the prior years… just because you change the name of the test, does not equal the promises he ran on…

Now that I think about it – I believe one of Kelli Ward (who ran and lost against McCain) , stances on was the repeal of common core/standardize testing… would love to know how much Ducey profited from AZMERIT ??
