President Obama’s Parting Shot Against Israel – U.N. Security Council Resolution Against Israeli Settlements…

obama-un(Via Reuters) The Obama administration on Friday allowed the U.N. Security Council to adopt a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements, defying pressure from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as well as Israel and several U.S. senators who urged Washington to use its veto.

The resolution was put forward at the 15-member council for a vote on Friday by New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal a day after Egypt withdrew it under pressure from Israel and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Israel and Trump had called on the United States to veto the measure.

It was adopted with 14 votes in favor, to a round of applause. It is the first resolution the Security Council has adopted on Israel and the Palestinians in nearly eight years.

The U.S. decision to abstain was a relatively rare step by Washington, which usually shields Israel from such action.

The U.S. abstention was seen as a parting shot by U.S. President Barack Obama, who has had an acrimonious relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and who has made settlements a major target of peace efforts that have proven ultimately futile.

The resolution demanded that Israel “immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem” and said the establishment of settlements by Israel has “no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law.”  (read more)

The Little Jewish Village That Makes Obama Boil
    Posted by Daniel Greenfield
    Excerpt http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2016/10/the-little-jewish-village-that-makes.html

According to some anonymous official, the plan to build houses for the evacuees in Shiloh is “of great concern” to the White House. Anyone wondering why Obama isn’t concerned about ISIS or the economy had better realize that his eye is firmly fixed on a small town in Israel up against the bulldozer.
And he’s determined to see to it that the bulldozer wins.
State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner claimed that building 98 homes would endanger peace. Peace in Israel is as dead as the dodo. But somehow it never seems to be endangered by any amount of Muslim suicide bombings, stabbings or rockets. The Palestinian Authority funds Islamic terrorism by paying salaries to terrorists using taxpayer money dispensed to them by Obama.

And this butchery of Jewish families and massacres of Rabbis in no way endangers peace.

Scripture is in reference to Abraham and his seed (Jesus Christ) – not a particular descendant and his offspring – certainly not a country or piece of land.

If you apply this to Abraham and all his descendants then you MUST also apply this to Esau and the Edomites.

The Bible is very clear that a Jew is not one in the flesh but in spirit. I think it makes a clear example that it is not the circumcision of the flesh, but of the heart/spirit.

As a practical example that this verse is meaningless in the John Hagee interpretation, can you or anyone who believes this is talking about a physical Israel and descendants from the ‘branch’ of Jacob/Israel point out how blessed the US has been since the UN chartered – specifically chartered – Israel as an ANTI-Christ country? Are we more moral as a people now? Do we ABORT less babies? Are we proud and do we celebrate Christianity any longer? Are perversions, homosexuality, paedophelia and overall morality in this country greater than it was 70 years, thousands of young soldiers lives, limbs and hundreds of billions of dollars later?

And who is twisting what? Poster I replied to said “This scripture is in reference to Israel.” and provided Genesis 12:3 NIV as proof text

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Israel is a 2nd generation descendant of Abraham first of all. The promise was made to ABRAHAM – not Israel (saying otherwise is twisting).

Next, it just baffles me when you people quote and defend this verse as the money verse for a “carte-blanc get out of jail, support Jews never criticize or hold them to account, give you money and fight for Israel to your death (or you’ll be cursed)” when the very verse you use to support this says “..and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Can I emphasize the words satan blinds you people with? Let’s do it again.

“..and ALL PEOPLES ON EARTH will be blessed through you.”

One more time to be very specific…

“..and ALL PEOPLES on earth will be blessed through you.”

Now, lets get back to your finger pointing – who exactly is it that added or that twisted scripture and said a promise made to ABRAHAM was really to Israel and that it therefore excludes over 98% of ALL PEOPLES of the earth?

I would like to add support to RP. The scripture refers to Jesus as being the blessing. The condition of the place in the land is obedience to the Old Testament and faith in God. The story is God’s faithfulness and mercy. Not the Jewish people. Most Jews follow the Mishnah not the Old Testament and are in unbelief. Israel is very secular county having one of the worlds highest abortion rates. The Department of Tourism plans and holds one of the largest Gay Pride event with in June. The Israeli Army was in Aleppo with the US trained
ISIS troops dragging Christains out of their homes, draining their blood and Israeli doctors using that blood to operate on ISIS fighters.

Jesus said in John 5 that scripture speaks of Him. By saying the portion in Genusis refers to the Jewish people you have unwittingly moved the focus of from God and elevated the Jew. The end of the story is from Romans which says I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God first to the Jew and then to the Gentile.

Do you want to bless Israeli? Then preach the Gospel!

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

For what it’s worth, from a guy born there before moving to America at the age of four (1959):
Several nights a week, my dad’s friends would come over and spend the evening arguing about politics (My dad was born in the city of Tiberias, on the Sea of Galilee, in what he called “Palestine.” My mom hated this because all the women had to go to the kitchen — they couldn’t talk politics with the men — and being an American woman, she didn’t like her second-class status.

I remember that no matter where I was, the people were angry and always blamed their troubles on other people, especially the Americans and the Jews (this was the 1950’s, so nothing has changed). As a kid, I listened and believed.

Then we moved to Washington DC and became part of the Arab/Muslim community there (just so you know, even with an American mom, which made me an American citizen at birth, it still took three years of background checks before we could come, and still we had to find someone here who would guarantee our financial needs for five years & they STILL gave me a naturalization certificate — they didn’t think I was a citizen at birth). Many of the Arabs my dad hung out with here we knew there, which I thought was strange considering they all hated America so much and yet they moved here. Even here in the U.S., all their problems in life were centered on the Jews and the Americans. Weird.

It was an all or nothing culture. My uncle showed me a photo of my dad on the streets of Tripoli in 1936 wearing a Nazi armband. Why? Hitler hated the Jews too. In 1948, Palestinian Arabs were told to leave Israel so that the Arab armies could more easily kill the Jews and then they could return. My dad never told me this, but the family left Jerusalem that year and went to Libya. I can guess why. I do know that the Palestinian state that was created was “Trans-Jordan” (across the Jordan River literally). The Palestinians refused to accept it. They were going to fight and die for what they considered their home country, Palestine (keep in mind that there was never a government of “Palestine” until the two-state solution created what they have today. France and Britain controlled the area after the world wars. That’s why French and English are understood in Israel and Lebanon, where I was born. Beirut is a lot like New Orleans, with a French quarter, a British quarter, etc.

This is just my first-hand view of the situation. The Jews I knew in Beirut were kind and gracious and never said an untoward word that I remember. But I do remember the Arab Muslims doing an awful lot of hating while walking along the cornice (the walkway along the Mediterranean). Jews. Americans and especially the Arab Christians were the bad guys, all second-class citizens.

Nothing’s changed A Coptic Christian church and 25 of its members was blown up there just a couple of weeks ago. Americans are still hated. Jews are reviled. Why should we expect anything else today?

Me, I loved the Americans. One morning we went out on our balcony in Beirut and all along the beach were American marines with pitched tents and weapons everywhere. Eisenhower had sent them during one of the difficult times there. Were we afraid of these horrible people? No. We’d fill balloons with water and throw them from the balcony. If we hit a marine we’d run downstairs and get a Hershey bar. They were great. One marine brought a glove and a baseball and taught me how to throw. I learned what “Good job kiddo!” meant in English. Ten years later, I was playing Little League baseball in Northern Virginia, and after hitting a double, someone shouted, “Good job, kiddo!” It reminded me how great Americans were in Beirut, and how great they were when they accepted me here a few years later.

Over the years I found Christianity (yeah, that went over well with my family), served my country in the military (disabled veteran), raised seven children who today are all productive members of society. All America gave me was a chance, and I am proud that made something of it.

Don’t listen to college kids who talk about how great Palestinians are and how bad Jews are. They’ve never been there. Maybe one day they’ll figure all this out, in’challa (god willing).

Islam’s world view is very different than ours. In fact, it’s pretty much the opposite, not to mention that it suffers a severe case of cognitive dissonance. Islam is not capable of co-existence. Only domination. The only time Islam accepts “peace”, by our definition of peace, is when it’s too weak or too contained to advance Islam by stealth and the sword.

If Israel backed down, it would be perceived as a sign of weakness, encouragement to demand more…then more. Islam respects only the meanest son of a bitch in the valley who has demonstrated superior strength and a willingness to use it. There is no such thing as a treaty or a lasting agreement with Islam. Never. Can’t give an inch. They’ll take the whole road, then fill it with the blood of martyrs and infidels. Mohammed and Allah command it.

“Peace” to Islam is when the entire world submits to Shariah law. There’s not another option.

The Israelis gave up Sinai in the hope of peace. They got more war. They forcibly ejected their people from Gaza and even dug up their dead so the Muslims would not be burdened even with Jewish dust. They got more war. In Gaza the Israelis had created a thriving multi million dollar greenhouse industry that exported fruit and flowers all over the world. When they left Gaza they gifted the greenhouses to the Moslems as a gesture of peace. The FIRST thing the Moslems did upon taking over Gaza was to smash the greenhouses and set about creating more war.
The Moslems hate the Jews because the Jews are not Moslem and because the Jews learn, create, and build their nation giving the benefit of their research in medicine, science, agriculture, etc while the Moslems remain mired in bigotry and poverty and export terrorism.

Lets make this simple–anything that expands Israel’s security is beneficial to the U.S.A. and the world, because such expansion necessarily removes territory and opportunities from people and their criminal organizations who have done nothing but foment violence and further criminality and inhumanity against their own and other people in that region. Name one place in all of so-called Palestine that is more stable, livable, and liberal in terms of individual liberty and opportunity than any place in Israel. Don’t waste your limited brain power–there isn’t one.

How is illicit Israeli settlements beneficial to the security of the United States? I encourage you to swap the term, “Palestinian” with “Christian” and see if you can justify your last post…..As a matter of fact (not conjecture or opinion!) at least 15% of the Palestinian Population is Christian; (the percentage used to be much greater); and these people are not allowed to utilize any of the Israeli infrastructure, to include the roadways, the Publicly Owned Treatment Works, or water supply. There is a form or apartheid taking place in the region, and Israel is in violation of most every UN Resolution and treatise that it has entered into. The settlements are flat out illegal, and they should be stopped.

Sad to say, I think this one will have consequences. They slid this shit through, not for any direct effect, but so that when settlements continue beyond the 1967 borders (which leave Israel less than 9 miles wide at some points and divide Jerusalem–i.e., indefensible) Israel can be brought up on charges in the international court of justice for violating a UN resolution. That is why this situation is different and why special efforts were made to get Egypt (Arab League) to withdraw it earlier. The signees on its re-submission strongly indicate to me that 0bummer pushed for this through his own contacts. I hope, but don’t know if Russia or another security counsel member could still veto, but for now it’s looking bleak.

At the time of the great immigrations from Italy, Ireland, and eastern Europe, the Republicans rejected the new immigrants. Hence the majority those populations gravitated to the Democrats as did their children and grandchildren-which is also said to be true of the Hispanic immigrants who believe they are rejected by the “fat cat” Republicans and gravitate to the Democrats with their offers of welfare and free everything else.
Now something different has come along-Trump. And he is drawing traditional Democrat voters, including Jews, That is why he won the election. Obama’s actions as well as the recent candidates for head of the Democrat Party apparatus i.e. Keith Ellison, and Tom Perez will pull the Democrats even further left. Hillary didn’t get it and most of them still have not learned from her defeat. There will still be liberal Jews, Christians, Blacks, immigrants, Hispanics etc. but more and more of these groups are waking up.
The Christmas market bombing in Germany, the announcement that the Jihadists compiled a “destruction list” of American churches and churches in western Europe to be destroyed on Christmas will awaken even more.

Secondly, Funding Israeli Wars against our own Enemies would be a cheap investment. America always spends more to do less. Look at replacement costs for AF1 before Trump!

Third, Unleashing Israel means we no longer have to do all Heavy lifting. Better to have Israel take lead in fight.

Fourth, Unleashing Israel could bring an end to a now endless conflict. An Endless conflict is never ending waste.

Now with Trump in, I feel a sense of “reprieve”, a burgeoning sense of hope.
