tomb of the unknown - memorial dayOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

Did you notice that they have coed bathrooms? They must have given up trying to deal with all of the men who think they are women, and vice versa. But I can tell you, as a real woman I would not want to share a dormitory bathroom with men.

Oh nevermind, this is a self-contained one-person bathroom with a shower. I have no problem with that. (Wish I could delete my prior comment!) Other articles said “coed bathrooms” as if they were the usual multi-stall bathrooms in dormitories.

Nothing in the article shows any anti-black sentiment.

Anti-Jew? Yes, but then THAT’S okay, right?

“In the initial incident report filed summarizing the incident, university officials classified the situation as a “hate crime.”

“Just hours after he learned of the incident, Minor, the residential life director, e-mailed the executive director of Mizzou Hillel to notify her of the anti-Semitic symbol that had been scrawled on the wall.”

“Thank you for letting me know about this and including me in these discussions,” Mizzou Hillel executive director Jeanne Snodgrass responded. “As always, myself, our Hillel, and members of the Jewish Student Organization would like to help in any way we can.”

Why would the incident be changed from a “hate crime”? Oh, that’s right …

Jonathan Haidt “Where microaggressions really come from: A sociological account”
… We’re beginning a second transition of moral cultures. The first major transition happened in the 18th and 19th centuries when most Western societies moved away from cultures of honor (where people must earn honor and must therefore avenge insults on their own) to cultures of dignity in which people are assumed to have dignity and don’t need to earn it. They foreswear violence, turn to courts or administrative bodies to respond to major transgressions, and for minor transgressions they either ignore them or attempt to resolve them by social means. There’s no more dueling.

Campbell and Manning describe how this culture of dignity is now giving way to a new culture of victimhood in which people are encouraged to respond to even the slightest unintentional offense, as in an honor culture. But they must not obtain redress on their own; they must appeal for help to powerful others or administrative bodies, to whom they must make the case that they have been victimized. It is the very presence of such administrative bodies, within a culture that is highly egalitarian and diverse (i.e., many college campuses) that gives rise to intense efforts to identify oneself as a fragile and aggrieved victim. This is why we have seen the recent explosion of concerns about microaggressions, combined with demands for trigger warnings and safe spaces, that Greg Lukianoff and I wrote about in The Coddling of the American Mind.

… The key idea is that the new moral culture of victimhood fosters “moral dependence” and an atrophying of the ability to handle small interpersonal matters on one’s own. At the same time that it weakens individuals, it creates a society of constant and intense moral conflict as people compete for status as victims or as defenders of victims.”

It’s really the fruits of the tree of secular narcissistic liberalism. Christianity teaches that each person has inherent value, each person is responsible to treat others as they would like to be treated. “Love one another, as I have loved you.” Without that love in the mix, there is only striving for dominance, and narcissism, the exact human flaws Christianity is designed to overcome.

Where is the humility, where is the understanding and compassion that the aggrieved are commanded to adopt? Where is turning the other cheek, and loving your enemy? Love your enemy doesn’t mean loving ISIS who is beheading children, it’s loving your school mates whose costumes you find offensive. Instead, now we have a nation contagion of anger and hate which is spreading. Christianity is an answer to a natural human condition: Envy, strife, narcissism, hatred all can be swallowed up in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and individuals can make that choice.

      • Mo Clark says:

“Love your enemy doesn’t mean loving ISIS who is beheading children” – That’s the very hard part of Christ’s teachings–it does mean loving individuals caught up in the evil of ISIS…loving them enough to pray that they will repent, turn from evil and come to know the God Who Loves them. He loves them so much He willingly became the sacrifice which pays for their sins and if they accept Him and His love, they will find eternal rest in His arms.

Trust me, I find it very difficult to follow this teaching. Natural man’s first instinct is to hate the person perpetuating the horror of terrorism. But always there is this “still small voice” which brings me around and reminds me “this world is not my home, I’m just a-passin’ through.”

God is in the business of changing lives. St. Paul was a known zealot who incited and participated in murder. After his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus, he was held in suspicion by the early Church until his conversion was vouched for.

We are all called to repent and believe in the God Who not only loves but IS love itself.

Conundrum: The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing. Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America :
    1. America is capitalist and greedy—yet half of the population is subsidized.
    2. Half of the population is subsidized—yet they believe they are victims.
    3. They believe they are victims—yet their representatives run the government.
    4. Their representatives run the government—yet the poor keep getting poorer.
    5. The poor keep getting poorer—yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
    6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about—yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
    A. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, But we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.
    B. It seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second group didn’t.
    C. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army back, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Wanted to share that I had the opportunity to attend Trump’s rally at the Doral, in Miami, a few weeks ago.
It was an amazing experience and the room was on fire!!
All around me were people from all walks of life and backgrounds, black, white, Latino, Asian..didn’t matter.. EVERYONE was cheering for our next president!

The next morning at breakfast, I heard this familiar, loud and strong voice a few tables down.
It was Trump(!) holding a breakfast meeting.
We waited until he had finished his meeting and then ran to get a picture with him.
He graciously consented but was in a hurry as the rally in Jacksinville was a few hours away.

Interesting observation, all of the employees we met at the hotel, really seem to like him and are affectionate in their description of seeing him around the property.. Also, most don’t call him Mr. Trump when speaking of him, but rather, just…”Trump”

Just read this on FB. I think it’s at least a couple of years old, but good nonetheless:

Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a liberal journalist who also happens to be an animal rights activist. The discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, “What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, ‘Are you my friend?’ or is it ‘Are you the one who killed my brother?'”

Nugent replied, “Deer aren’t capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the Democrats in Congress.”

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. – Colossians 3:12-15

How many of these hysterics have been learning and living the gospel of Jesus Christ, ever since they were young, and not the Jeremiah Wright Liberation Theology? Very few from what is evident…”By their fruits, ye shall know them.”
