Sunday Open Thread – October 25th

tomb of the unknown - memorial dayOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

This is a very thought-provoking interview with Tulsi Goddard, who is a democrat representative from Hawaii. Excellent interview and she lays out the challenges and confusion at the present time.

The farther away from an incident you go, time-wise, and the less the public really cares the easier it is to spin the truth into a convenient self-serving lie. the public no longer cares about the incident so the ‘truth’ about the incident’s what the definers say it is. The US’s heartless nuclear destruction of two innocent and picturesque Japanese towns to end WW II comes immediately to mind. Never mind the millions of lives on both sides that would have resulted from a ground invasion and, oh yes, the millions of innocent Asians the Japanese slaughtered and enslaved. It’s all a matter of how many bright things on strings you can dangle in front of the easily distracted public.

    Cruz hits nail on head.
    From The Hill:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) says the U.S. of today will become unrecognizable if “one more liberal justice” is appointed to the Supreme Court.
“One more liberal justice and our right to keep and bear arms is taken away from us by an activist court,” Cruz said at a campaign rally in Iowa on Friday, according to the Des Moines Register.
“One more liberal justice and they begin sandblasting and bulldozing veterans memorials throughout this country,” he added.
“One more liberal justice and we lose our sovereignty to the United Nations and the World Court.”
Cruz was critical of the high court after its decisions to uphold Obamacare and legalize gay marriage last term.
He said the Supreme Court should face elections in order to hold the nine-justice tribunal accountable.

It appears Carson has bought into all the PC establishment propaganda mindsets. The same mindsets they have used to make America a mess again and again.

He is now repeating their jargon on the campaign trail. Carson is making soft spoken whispers that ring out loud and offensive. One of his latest whispers is, “Americans are lazy, they won’t work the jobs illegal immigrants do.”

Boy, that is an argument that cannot be won. George W. Bush actually said it, Center for Immigration Studies says not true … this has been argued to death. Rush Limbaugh seems to me to have the best answer – “But my question is: Why is the solution never ending amnesty for everybody who wants to come here…? Whatever happened to seasonal permitted green card immigration to come in? Seasonal immigration, which we’ve supported in the past, is not immigration, but seasonal work permits for people to come in during the growing season, the picking season, whatever it’s called — and when the work is done, then they leave? Why isn’t that a solution.(?)”

Bracero work program by FDR, stopped in 1964. Allowed Mexicans to come to America to do seasonal work in Agriculture. Beneficial to all in that the workers were making high wage in comparison to what they would in Mexico. They returned wealthy (so to speak) Agriculture was supplied with good labor at a good price. Consumers and residents benefited from low produce prices, and local spending. It wasn’t until the big handouts and drug violence came around that they all decided to run for the border.

FYI…Americans are not allowed to own property in Mexico and working there requires a permit that is not easily obtained.

Also, visas are good for 180 days max, meaning you have to return to your country of origin, stay overnight, then re-enter for another 180 days max. And the Mexicans track you. My father-in-law was hospitalized mid-country while returning to the U.S. by car and couldn’t leave the country within that timing. The Federales found him within days. They did grant an extension, but it required medical signatures at multiple levels.

We don’t even try to track those who overstay unless they create some type of catastrophe. Even then, they know to lawyer up and disappear into the madding crowds.

      • American NewSpeak: the Politically Correct way of saying illegal alien = illegal immigrant BUT IT’S WRONG!

        CORRECT: illegal migrant, illegal alien
        INCORRECT: Illegal immigrant

Just a little correction here: it is seasonal MIGRATION, not seasonal “immigration.” Europe, unlike USA does not refer to MIGRANTS as “immigrants,” and they are correct in doing so. if we in USA would stop doing that it would sure help clear some of the confusion in this issue. The illegal alien propagandists are trying to cloud the issue. First rule of propaganda = change the word then change its meaning ergo change the meaning of the conversation to confuse and obstruct the truth.

        1) Illegal immigrant = oxymoron, the 2 words are polar opposites and cannot exist together. The very word “immigrant” already assumes and means legal and doesn’t need a qualifier, like “legal immigrant.” All immigrants ARE LEGAL. The only reason Americans use that word is out of convenience or ignorance or naivety. An immigrant is a foreigner who is in process or has been through the immigration process with intention of becoming a citizen and assimilates into their new country. You are either one or the other. Immigrants cannot be illegal. EQUIVALENT THINK: law abiding criminal, married single man, beautiful disgusting water, fresh rancid meat, healthy crack addict, you get the picture! And then there’s the PC hyphenated nationalities oxymorons like African-American, Mexican-American, Italian-American which is a whole other subject but unless they hold two citizenships are oxymorons.

        2) Migrants need permission from the destination country before they can stay. Violation of that policy or law will render a person an illegal migrant. Migrants migrate to a foreign country with no intention of assimilation nor going through process of legal immigration. They still have legal connection and are bound tax payers to their home country. They are temporarily here and the ones that stay beyond permission are ILLEGAL and then some arrive illegally and just stay for years ILLEGALLY. Now, you can be both a legal migrant (one with papers to be in a foreign country to work for example, with no intention of immigrating nor becoming a citizen). And you can be an illegal migrant.

But a migrant is not an immigrant!

It sure would help the conversation in USA a lot if we referred to illegals as either illegal aliens or illegal migrants. And leave the word “immigrant” out of this! I am sure in time it will catch on, it inevitably will, but in the meantime people like la raza cult and other Leftists are surely laughing at us and using this to the advantage furthering their illegal agenda.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? It makes a whole lot of difference to immigrants who help built this country and follow the rules and the law and it can help in the discussion process to keep things straight.

Remember: Propagandists know that once we start using THEIR WORDS, they’ve WON.
So let us not be fooled!

imo trump has been very clever with his strategic in keeping his opponents off balance. with that being said i think he needs to start preparing from incoming from the obama administration. in this space we acknowledge what obama is doing to hillary but i think he equally doesnt want to see a trump presidency. his shameful mocking of trump during the correspondents dinner i still think was a turning point in his decision to finally run. obama has mentioned trump repeatedly recently. hes envious of trumps movement and as a narcissist hates that trump has taken up the political oxygen in the us. black lives matter and la raza are chomping at the bit to disrupt the trump campaign. as a preemptive strike before the general election trump should roll out a plan for our crumbling cities. chicago detroit los angeles philadelphia cleveland and the smaller cities decimated by manufacturing leaving – flint camden newark stockton. with the flirtation by the teamsters with trump and his talk of bringing back jobs trump could destroy the dem coalition of blacks and hispanics. both blocs are up for grabs in ways the dem establishment doesnt fully respect. we know that trump is polling well with blacks and hispanics but without more agresssive courting that number will come down in 2016. such an exciting time to see the political paradigm shift im hopeful he goes for it all and brings home an 84 like landslide. thats the type of result thats needed to put these usurpers back in their place

    • i am glad you paired the two together: la raza & black lives matter, because they are really subversive groups, la raza being an actual CULT.

Trump is right, these la raza groups are always trying to get money out of him.

Besides, the so-called “Hispanic groups” the media keeps referring to are mostly Mexican nationalistic, targeting ignorant and uneducated and angry people, and try to pull the wool over naive American’s eyes!

Most Hispanic Americans do love America and do not support la raza cult in the first place. Many will vote Hillary not because of la raza but because many are DEMOCRATS.

      • Meyer says:

Mentioned this before, but is worth mentioning again here . . . . In 2014, Obama steered settlement money toward la raza.

“Judicial Watch first reported the scheme two years ago when Countrywide Financial Corporation doled out $335 million to settle its discrimination lawsuit with the feds. The money was supposed to be distributed to more than 200,000 minority victims . . . . Instead, a chunk of the money went to Democrat-tied groups not connected to the lawsuit, including the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and the open-borders National Council of La Raza.”

Interesting how over the last two weeks I’ve seen a small flourish of articles in Israeli official/semiofficial outlets about the Grand Muftis of Jerusalem from WW II through today. As one of the functions of the Mufti is being in charge of Islam’s holy sites in Jerusalem, especially the Moslem-occupied Temple Mount, and the Moslems have been actively co-opting the Eunuchesco in an successful effort to put multi-religious sites under Moon Worshiper control – one wonders if this isn’t a PR run-up to some Israeli action?
Wondering if the abominations mentioned in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14 are The Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque? Tends to meet my definition of abomination and I’m guessing more than one Jew has the same definitional opinion. Quick, secular fundamentalists, explain the last 70 years of world history to me in light of Biblical prophecy is just an accident, a vague prediction that could have applied to, oh, just about anything that’s happened in those same 70 years.

Today, at Morningstar Church in South Carolina, one of those church leaders who visited with Donald Trump gave an EXTREMELY COMPELLING presentation about Donald Trump and the PROPHETIC EXPERIENCE that he had surrounding his visit with DONALD TRUMP, amongst other “topics.”

Watch Lance Wallnau describe his experience. The sermon begins at the 1hour and 25 second mark (1:00:25) on this video and lasts for quite a while. THIS IS WORTH SEEING!!!!!!!

Lance Wallnau also provides and incredible synapsis of where he feels the world is in terms of the END TIMES and a biblical interpretation of the events of the final battle between good and evil and the role of the church. Imagine that! According to Lance, Donald Trump has been strategically placed for this purpose by God. He even goes as far as comparing God’s use of the ancient Darius (the Mede-Daniel’s time), and suggests that God has ANNOINTED DONALD TRUMP for His purposes at this time.

He further discusses why Christians are wrong to necessarily seek leaders (BEN Carson) who are Christian just because they are Christian!!!!!!!!!!!

Many people are called by God to be leaders, not many are PASTORS nor even Prophets. I truly believe America must be the beacon of light for this dark world and that is going to take someone EXACTLY like Trump. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the Hand of God moving the currents of the storm along and like an eagle using those currents to get to his destination!
