Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

We are all Wayfaring Strangers. Our entire lives are built around how we conduct ourselves, how we deal with the challenges we face, and ultimately who we are as a person. And God judges that and admits people into His kingdom.
It isn’t easy. Nobody said it would be easy. If you get too much you think less of God. If you get less you think and hope more from God. But neither tells Him your character. Your character is what Jesus came to die and provide an “out” for. Accept Him, and you have a way to be with God. Do not, and you are on your own.
Hell is the unending state of being on your own.
…………a sweet rendition of a really, really old song. Thank you for sharing.
Mine is better, but I deleted it unfortunately.
My grandpa did it with Bill Monroe and we have a record, but my dad took the 45 and I was not able to make it digital.
But I did it once and dubbed over Bill Monroe’s voice. I wish I still had it.

That’s sort of what Biden’s masters have been planning for our country. Let’s hope that the good guys and girls expose the fraud and save us all.

I’m not sure. Placing all those dominoes took a lot of patience though.
Our Weakness and God’s Power
By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
When our Lord was on earth He healed great numbers of sick and diseased people. The believers at Pentecost also healed many in the name of Jesus, offering to Israel His return from heaven upon condition of their repentance (Acts 3:19-21).
All those who were healed, however, finally succumbed to physical infirmity or disease again and died after all. This was because the Lord Jesus was rejected as King, not only in His incarnation but also in His resurrection. Rom. 8:22,23 declares the result as we see it in our own day:
“…we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit [that is], the redemption of our body.”
But Christians in “this present evil age” often need physical infirmity to draw them closer to God in prayer and faith. Paul himself said:
“…there was given to me a thorn in the flesh… lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me: My grace is sufficient for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (II Cor. 12:7-9).
The Apostle’s response to this shows how well he understood that suffering and weakness are an important part of Christian discipline.
“Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me… I take pleasure in infirmities… for when I am weak, then am I strong” (II Cor. 12:9,10).
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a for more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (II Cor. 4:16,17).

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
Hope Through Suffering
By Justin Johnson
Hope allows people to suffer pain for a greater reward; endure trials in order to achieve a greater goal; and willingly sacrifice for something they cherish. Yet, for some people there is nothing greater than their suffering.
This is where the scriptures are needful. It is through the patience and comfort of the scriptures that we can have hope (Rom 15:4). The Bible plainly describes the greatest evils of this world and the great suffering that has resulted from it, but it also provides a greater hope.
With the revelation of the mystery of Christ, the Lord gave the greatest source of comfort to those that suffer: an eternal hope of glory.
“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” – Col 1:27
Through the sufferings of this world we can now hope upon the glory of God! This glory is greater than anything you can suffer on this earth:
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” – Romans 8:18
Hope by Faith
The only way to reckon the greatest sufferings of this world unworthy is through the eyes of faith which come by hearing the word of God (Rom 10:17). If we walk by sight we will not see much hope. We must trust by faith that God is able to do what he promised:
“Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.” – 2 Cor 4:14
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;” – 2 Cor 4:17
We can only glory in tribulations knowing what we do by faith. Our faith encourages us to patiently endure (Rom 12:12) . The endurance then produces a knowledgeable experience about the suffering. Through Paul’s experience he made this statement about suffering:
“…for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” – Phil 4:11
This experience then finally works your hope of glory, without which your suffering would be vain.
“…we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:” – Romans 5:3-4
Suffering is Real
Suffering is not to be ignored. Neither is it something we should resign ourselves unto. There is a treatment for suffering called hope and it comes by faith in the word of God rightly divided.
It is only by faith in what the scripture says that we can have sufficient hope to endure the greatest sufferings of this life. There are some very real sufferings in this world from which you cannot be saved except by God’s hope of glory in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:24-25).
The sufferings may not go away until our promotion to glory, but we will always have this hope:
“For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” – Gal 5:5

Happy Cursday and HAPPY THANKSGIVING TREEPERS!!! I think our Lord loves animals and I think he blesses these fine people who work so hard to find lost and abandoned dogs homes with people who will love them. And, make no mistake, because we love animals and our Lord wants to be happy: All Dogs Go To Heaven. Of that, I have absolutely no doubt.
Rescues always!
THE LORD DOESN’T NEED OUR GRATITUDE
“Thanking God glorifies and magnifies Him, but did you know doing so also benefits us?
The Lord doesn’t need our gratitude, but as we give thanks, we become less selfish and more confident in God’s character.
Expressing gratefulness:
•Refocuses our attention.
Life is filled with distractions that can make it harder to notice all God has done for us. Instead of living with the weight of the world on our shoulders, it’s good to try refocusing on the Lord by thanking Him for His faithfulness.
•Relieves our anxiety.
Many people in our society live with constant apprehension. But when we bring our concerns to the Lord with thanksgiving, the burden shifts to Him, and His peace comes to us (Philippians 4:6-7).
•Refreshes our relationship.
Gratitude keeps us from thinking that the Christian walk is all about us and our needs. Our fellowship with God is enhanced when we focus on Him.
•Reinforces our faith.
Thanksgiving helps us dig ourselves out of the pit of discouragement and strengthens us spiritually.
When you’re overwhelmed, thanking God is probably not on your radar. But I’ve learned from experience that acknowledging all the Lord has done is a sure way to change attitudes and re-energize.”

Many of you have probably noted that actor Rick Schroder has been taking a lot of flak from the Left for helping bail out Kyle Rittenhouse.
My little anecdotal story about Mr. Schroder takes place a few decades ago in SoCal, back when paintball was first becoming popular. At one field I favored, there was a group of regulars who played together as a team and when he was present, Rick would play with them.
He was the opposite of the stereotypical Hollywood star. Of the fair number of times I played there when he was present, all I remember was that he was a good sport, completely unpretentious, and acted just like regular folk, which I suppose was different enough to be the reason I remember his presence at all.
Gratified but not surprised that he didn’t turn out to be a typical Hollywood lib.
Great story, Guy. Appreciate you sharing it. Happy Thanksgiving!

THE CONCENTRATION OF SPIRITUAL ENERGY
“…save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Gal. vi. 14
If you want to know the energy of God (i.e., the resurrection life of Jesus) in your mortal flesh, you must brood on the tragedy of God. Cut yourself off from prying personal interest in your own spiritual symptoms and consider bare-spirited the tragedy of God, and instantly the energy of God will be in you. “Look unto ME,” pay attention to the objective Source and the subjective energy will be there. We lose power if we do not concentrate on the right thing. The effect of the Cross is salvation, sanctification, healing, etc., but we are not to preach any of these, we are to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The proclaiming of Jesus will do its own work. Concentrate on God’s centre in your preaching, and though your crowd may apparently pay no attention, they can never be the same again. If I talk my own talk, it is of no more importance to you than your talk is to me; but if I talk the truth of God, you will meet it again and so will I. We have to concentrate on the great point of spiritual energy – the Cross, to keep in contact with that centre where all the power lies, and the energy will be let loose. In holiness movements and spiritual experience meetings the concentration is apt to be put not on the Cross of Christ, but on the effects of the Cross.
The feebleness of the churches is being criticized today, and the criticism is justified. One reason for the feebleness is that there has not been this concentration of spiritual energy; we have not brooded enough on the tragedy of Calvary or on the meaning of Redemption.

The True Meaning of Thanksgiving
By Jay Sekulow12 hrs. ago
https://aclj.org/american-heritage/the-true-meaning-of-thanksgiving
As we gather with family, or celebrate at a distance due to the ongoing pandemic, to take part in Thanksgiving, let us take a moment to reflect on this American holiday. Most people think of Pilgrims and Native Americans having a feast to celebrate the former’s first corn harvest. But it wasn’t until 168 years later that the first Thanksgiving Proclamation was made, and there was no mention of Pilgrims. There was, however, mention of God.
In October 1781, when General Cornwallis surrendered his British army, it marked the birth of a nation. To General George Washington, the victory also demonstrated an act of God. Heavenly protection could be the only explanation for the fledgling Continental forces to win-out over the world-class British army. In fact, throughout the war, Washington credited “Providence” for the Continental Army’s success – even joking in a letter to his brother that he would be obliged to “turn preacher” following the war.
Eight years following the triumph at Yorktown, George Washington was inaugurated as the first President of the United States of America. Less than six months into his presidency, Washington made the first Thanksgiving Proclamation—the words of which are of as much import today as they were when it was written on October 3, 1789.

My favorite doggie video starts:
Thanksgiving near the front In WW II.
Commanders did their best to make sure their troops got a Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It wasn’t always possible for the troops in the front lines and engaged with the enemy, but in general they did a great job of getting a full Turkey dinner to their troops. It was extremely important for moral. Patton actually would spend Thanksgiving making sure that everyone in his command got their Turkey dinner if at all possible.
The M-1937 Field Range was quite a piece of equipment and served as the primary field range for the US Army, Marines, and Seabees right through WW II into Vietnam. It was fueled by gasoline and required regular cleaning of the burner unit but had the capability to roast, bake, grill, broil and warm. Here is a nice video about that remarkable piece of equipment followed by another good one about how Company field kitchens were organized.
Saint John Chrysostomos, Archbishop of Constantinople (+ 407)
Although Saint John Chrysostomos reposed in the Lord on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-giving Cross (September 14th), he is commemorated today, November 13th on the traditional Calendar of the Orthodox Christian Church and November 26th on the civil calendar.
He was renowned for his wisdom, his asceticism, and the power of his words. He did much for the Church, including battling heretics, writing a rite for the Divine Liturgy, interpreting the Holy Scriptures, and leaving many precious books of sermons. (Chrysostomos means golden-tongued.) For denouncing the Empress Eudoxia, he was exiled twice and reposed at Comana in Armenia.
His disciple, Proclus, observed the Holy Apostle Paul explaining the Holy Scriptures to Saint John Chrysostomos while he was writing sermons, many of which still exist.
The full Life of Saint John Chrysostomos is wonderfully depicted by Saint Dimitri of Rostov in the Great Collection of the Lives of tbe Saints. He is also honored with Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory the Theologian on the same day in January, the Three Great Hierarchs.
Kontakion in honor of Saint John Chrysostomos

In the last historical novel of the great civil war trilogy by the Jeff Shaara and his father Michael Shaara, titled ‘The last Full Measure’ , General Lee is on Traveler and is checking his defensive lines around Richmond that is under siege by ever growing numbers of Union soldiers.
Lee see’s a civilian male walking towards the confederate trenches carrying a peculiar object and asks the man what it is. The Man reminds the General that is Thanksgiving and he is taking a Turkey to the troops. The man explains it’s not a real Turkey but one his wife had made and fashioned into the shape of a turkey using sweet potatoes. Even that dish would have been a treat for the Confederate troops at that time and yet, they held out for another 10 months.

CNN: “Fox News Staffers Thought Newsmax Was a Joke. They’re Not Laughing Anymore.”
—Ace
I know it’s Thanksgiving, and maybe it’s not the time for vituperation and vengeance, but…
Well, just a little, right?
Fox News is now threatening guests who appear on Newsmax, telling them they won’t be invited on Fox.
CNN link. I wouldn’t click. This article is by CNN’s Chief Deplatforming Officer Tater, with additional reporting by their Senior Deplatforming Associate Oliver Darcy. It claims that all of Newsmax’s gains are due to “conspiracy theories,” because, of course.
Anything Tater doesn’t like is a “conspiracy theory.”
Except Russia Collusion, of course!
Fox News is taking action to stave off newfound competition from Newsmax TV.
Producers on some Fox programs have been told to monitor Newsmax’s guest bookings and throw some sand in Newsmax’s gears by encouraging guests who appear on both channels to stop saying yes to the upstart.
According to Fox sources, producers were told to avoid some regular guests if they kept showing up on Newsmax after being encouraged to stop. Management’s goal: to remind guests who’s boss in the right-wing media world.
Fox News denies this. But they’re lying.
Memo to Fox: When you threaten people, they tend to talk about it.
To everyone.
…
Fox hosts and producers are on edge about the ratings race, a number of staffers told CNN Business. The staffers also said that the competitive dynamic is having an impact on some of Fox’s programming choices.
…
Sources at Fox derided Newsmax as “far-right” and “fringe” and they singled out Kelly for particular criticism. But there has been a noticeable shift in the way they talk about Newsmax.
Conservatives who attempt to delegitimize other conservatives as “far right” and “fringe” are not conservatives. They are liberals.
…
If history is any guide, the audience will gradually “come home,” in the words of one Fox executive, who pointed out that the network remains dominant among conservative viewers.
I mentioned a source telling me that that was what Fox was telling itself.
Now they call their own audience “radicalized.”
…
“Our audience has absolutely been radicalized,” one longtime on-air staffer at Fox said.
“Far right.” “Fringe.”
“Radicalized.”
How is the way that Fox talks about its audience any different from how CNN talks about Fox’s audience?
Now comes Fox’s pitiful attempts to appease its “radicalized,” “far right,” “fringe” audience:
Multiple staffers pointed to programming adjustments, like the airing of Mark Levin’s right-wing talk show on both Saturday and Sunday nights, that are meant to appeal to the Fox base. Levin’s show used to air just on Sundays. Last Saturday, however, Fox aired a six-day-old episode of the show, full of out-of-date claims about Trump’s legal challenges.
The staffers said the frequent re-airing of clips from “Tucker Carlson Tonight” during the day was another noticeable attempt to appease viewers.
They’re airing Tucker Carlson tips during the day to Con the Rubes so that neoliberals and plain old liberals Paul Ryan, Chris Wallace, Chris Stirewalt, and Bill Sammon can keep their jobs.
By the way, the Fox staffers who talked to Tater savaged Maria Bartiromo as a lunatic conspiracy theorists.
They hate you just as much.
rah, thanks for the run-down.
I’d say there’s nothing vituperative or vengeful about being thankful for having alternatives to deceitful, agenda driven, manipulative elitists. ?
So: THANKS to Newsmax, OAN, RSBN, and the generous and growing handful of fair journalists and conservative sites, especially our Treehouse, who exist as an alternative to the gigantic corporatist monsters.
