Well, it looks like two weeks of discussions surrounding a nuanced or specific policy about illegal immigration and illegal aliens will be settled on Wednesday in Arizona.

Suffice to say this is probably Donald Trump’s most anticipated, and perhaps most important, speech to date.  How to deal with the 11 to 70 million illegal aliens currently in the U.S. is one of the biggest aspects of contention amid the wider electorate.

This speech will determine -to a large extent- the scope, scale and viability of the Monster Vote.

Trump arizona 4Anyone who says they’ve nailed down a strong prediction of what might be contained within this speech, specifically about the current illegal population,  is not being honest.

Literally, just about anything is possible.

There have been indications that Donald Trump’s position will state that any illegal who ever wants a chance at legal status will need to exit the U.S., and apply for expedited green-card (legal alien) status from outside the border.

There have also been indications that deportation law (current law) will be enforced more severely to create the leverage to influence the “good aliens” toward that approach.  Something similar to: “all deportees will be barred from applying for legal status, ever”.

This type of an approach does seem to walk the line.   If the illegal population want to gain legal status, they need to leave and apply for expedited residency; this puts the onus on them to get right with the law.  If they decide not to leave (and apply), and if they are caught, they will be deported and lose their ability to ever apply.

That’s just a wild guess based on snippets of interpretation of what’s been bantered about in the past two weeks….. but anything is possible.

Of course it goes without saying that Kellyanne Conway has a more Rubio-esque ideology toward the ‘gang-of-eight’ bill.
