HOUSTON –A 21-year-old man sprang into action to protect his family Thursday night when three suspects barged into their northwest Harris County home.
The young man was home with his mother and father in the 3900 block of Brook Garden when the armed men forced their way into the house around 8 p.m., according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies.
The family was in the middle of baking a cake, when there was a knock at the door.
“I see a young boy and I think it is a friend of my son so I open it a little bit,” the father explained. “These guys push and out comes two more, they push me on the ground.”
After the father was down, the suspects went after the mother. That is when the son ran and got his dad’s gun. He opened fire and hit one of the suspects, who died in the back bedroom. The other two suspects fled the scene.
“I just hear a couple of times; boom, boom, boom. One young life is lost,” the dad said.
Deputies responding to the call spotted a vehicle carrying two men who matched the suspects’ descriptions and pulled it over. The men were taken into custody for questioning. (read more)

So a 21 year old son is in his own home, enjoying time with his parents and a cake is baking…. He sees his dad pushed down on the ground by a couple of thugs. Then he sees they are going after his mother. He gets his gun and BOOM! A young man is DEAD. And two cowards ran for their lives.

As shocking as it might be, it appears from the video that the perps were white.
Of course, in my experience when race is not mentioned and mug shots not immediately available the score is about 10 to 1 black vs. some other race.
I’m curious if anyone has tried to do formal research on this form of bias, but even at an informal level of noticing that race is not mentioned and then personally following up , the FACT that the MSM media does everything it can to obfuscate black-on-white crime is clear… Even if the precise statistic isn’t quantified.
That’s why big cities want to take the guns away from whitey.
Yes, it’s racist when the race that commits crime at a much higher rate than the rest of society is shot by law abiding citizens at a higher rate as well.

My only regret is that the other two home invaders survived the ordeal. I used to be of the mindset of people needing to be rehabilitated, and it was poor upbringing and a disadvantaged background yadda yadda yadda…
At some point, whether there’s truth to that or not, you stop caring. There are 7 billion people and growing now. I see no reason whatsoever to mourn the lost potential of some burglarizing scumbag.

If it was my kid, I’d send him to the range and practice some more. I mean, three targets and he only hits one?
Good for him! A home invasion usually means only one thing — a desire to harm or kill the homeowners. A home invader in Texas must not be very bright. It’s like breaking into an Alaskan home. If the husky dog doesn’t eat you, the homeowner is going to shoot you. Maybe if you’re new to the state you don’t know that, but you usually find out about it around your third day or so. We’re all armed and we’re all grouchy as spring bears when you wake us up in 3 am by kicking in our back door. We have to repair that door and the dogs are barking and it’s 3 am — BAM! That seems like a reasonable response.
