What A Coinkydink – Last Week Obama Meets With MoveOn.Org and Big Labor – This Week The Same Groups Announce Black Friday Protests Against Wal Mart..

Wow…. what a coincidence huh?   Last Tuesday President meets with with Big Labor (AFL-CIO, AFSCME, SEIU etc), leftists from MoveOn.Org and Center for American Progress at the White House….  Then exactly one week later, THE EXACT SAME LEADERS, announce a progressive coordinated protest outside Wal Mart stores nationwide on Black Friday.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka (2nd L) talks to reporters, beside Executive Director of MoveOn.org Justin Ruben (L), SEIU President Mary Kay Henry (2nd R) and AFSCME President Lee Saunders. (Reuters)

(Daily Caller)  MoveOn.org has jumped into the fight for a unionized Wal-Mart workforce. The liberal group has sent emails to its list nationwide, urging a mass-protest outside Wal-Mart stores on Black Friday. The organization is encouraging people to strike against management even if they aren’t Wal-Mart employees themselves.

“Instead of listening to and learning from its workers, Wal-Mart has sought to silence us and retaliate against those who dare to speak up,” MoveOn.org said in its email to supporters. “Warehouse workers who work for Wal-Mart contractors have also experienced retaliation for speaking out. Now, Wal-Mart workers have had enough.”

Black Friday is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year.

“On Black Friday, and throughout the Holiday Season, we’re standing up for an end to the retaliation against workers who speak out for what’s right for our families, our communities, and our country,” the left-wing organization continued. “Will you show your support?”

Liberal union groups OUR Wal-Mart and Making Change at Wal-Mart, which are working to organize the planned strike, are aggressively trying to harness dues from Wal-Mart’s massive workforce.  (read more)

Gee, what do you think the possibility that Dear Leader, the White House community organizer might have provided some feedback on this coordinated strategy/plan?

On MSNBC’s “Ed Show” tonight, Leo Gerard, head of the United Steelworkers Union, warned Democrats not to compromise at all on the fiscal cliff. Gerard said any Democrats who does get weak knees isn’t a “real Democrat.”  [...]  any Democrat that gets weak knees on that isn’t a real Democrat. And they ought to remember what happened to Blanche Lincoln,” Gerard said.

So once again, they are upset because they can’t get their hands on other people’s money, in the form of more dues from Walmart employees. Thieves. There’s a hundred ways to Alinsky them, I’m sure, but it’s tiring to have to think like that for very long at a time.

Great idea, boycott the companies that donated largely to Democrats.. Let’s get this message out to people. Money is the power, Conservatives are the producers and the Democrats are nothing but thieves. Their power won’t last long as their house of cards fall in.

At the risk of repeating myself, I don’t know why states are not “up in arms” (figuratively speaking) over the federal government amassing $16 Trillion in debt, and growing. Obama increased debt faster than Bush over 8 years too. That alone should be enough reason to secede and refuse to pay taxes with the help of State officials. It has to be through state body whose personnel are not dependent on federal pay checks like Congress. The fed taxes alone collected from each state should be enough to pay and keep national military in place. The rich states have to do this. It is immoral to have this kind of debt and not do something. Money talks. Money is power. And if you give money to the feds, you give them power. Without it, they have no power. Can it borrow more? or print more? This is the question to solve. Borrowing and printing has to stop. Maybe a new standard is needed, gold. If feds keep printing, dollar loses it’s purchasing power. People will rush to gold and if states use gold as standard, problem may be solved.

Ha, ha, I went shopping at Walmart day after the election and had a wonderful time. The cashier was pleasant and happy that I was supporting her job. The grousing comes from the union bosses and Obama.

  6. Unions have long since outlived their usefulness. They’re no longer organized for worker protection…they’re now all about political pressure. Actually, they have been since 1936.

The upper management in the unions lives a life far plusher than most CEO’s. Members of the prominent crime families in NY-NJ have their relatives on the payroll of the Longshoremans Union for jobs that pay $400K/year and up. It’s about power and control, not “worker’s rights”. Never was.

At $400K that union boss is overweight and a couch potato. Basically, a typical non-producer. They look for an easy way to make money. There’s nothing wrong with eating but to not work and burn off that food consumed in large quantities is simply gluttony at best. Obama is a couch potato too, a complete non-producer. At one point, he was writing 85 business legislations a day. One cannot come up with 85 ways to legislate businesses unless one wants to exert control over businesses which bring in the money.

That icon of Maobama is perfect. Many keep calling him a socialist. He is not a socialist, he is a Communist with capital C. School lunches in Europe are not ruled by age of child. Are you kidding? Dictate to French and Italians how much and what they are allowed to eat? Dictators punish and threaten those who do not follow their rules. Another distinction between Socialism and Communism is that Socialism requires everyone to follow the same rules whereas Communism grants waivers to the political ruling class. It’s dictatorship and monarchism again. Why do we suppose African people are so poor? China and Russia too. Yet the leaders live in excess luxury. Obama likes to blame capitalism, and nothing is further from reality. What makes Africans poor is their dictorship. You cannot pin Africa’s poverty on America, as Obama likes to do.

Absolutely. Same with the aid that is given to Gaza.
And yes, Obama and his entourage are hard-core Communists, not socialists in the Western European vein like most want us to believe. They admire Mao, not Merkel.

I have only been to one Black Friday event since I moved to the US. That was over a decade ago, and I said, “never again”. How are they going to “Boycott” Wal-Mart if I do all my shopping online? For the past several years, I’ve done all my holiday shopping online through Amazon, Ebay, Ebates etc. I haven’t stepped foot in a brick and mortar store after Thanksgiving in years.

WalMart has been a juicy plum the Unions have coveted for years. My daughter worked at a pharmacy in the local Walmart during her high school and college years as a well compensated Pharmacy tech. She also got lots of support and some money for her education – she was treated really well by WalMart. However, the union push at WalMart based on class warfare has been going on for years. WalMart has staunchly refused to accept any unionization – even going so far as to shutter completely a store in Quebec that allowed the unions in. I don’t see this battle ending well for the unions, even with the threat of federal coercion. WalMart is the economic lifeblood of too many smaller communities now.
