ISRAEL - The Israeli Air Force struck some 70 targets in the Gaza Strip in the past hour, the IDF Spokesman’s Office said shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. Among the targets, the IDF statement said, were underground medium-range rocket launching pads. The most recent blitz of air strikes brought the total number to well over 300.
Palestinians have fired over 275 rockets from Gaza into the South since the IDF launched its operation. Two rockets triggered an air raid siren in Tel Aviv, marking the first time that a real siren was sounded in Tel Aviv since the Gulf War in the early 1990s. (more)

All hail the Iron Dome System–Elta; detection and radar, mPrest Systems; weapon control, Rafael; missle firing unit–All Israeli companies. The U.S. taxpayer also has about a billion dollars in the system for implementing and sharing of technology via Raytheon.
That’s probably the best billion we’ve ever spent…
I hope they have enough missiles at this point, because it’s newly deployed. They look very effective, as compared to the Patriot system.

these ain’t just the average ground-to-ground rockets that Holden says you can buy at any NRA-sponsored gun show, these are Iranian Faljr-5s. Previously these were fired at Israel by the Lebanese (cough,cough) Hezbollah – now we’re supposed to believe that Hamas bought these on eBay? The Iranians, through their Hezbollah cut-outs, are supplying an advanced Iranian-manufactured military rocket capable of reaching Tel Aviv to Hamas. Meanwhile the POtuS, who’s more interested in the DCI’s sex life than his allies health, is saying………….(crickets chirping – very few at that). Please Mr POtuS, how long are we going to paddle around in a sea of useless diplomacy?
