Report – Ty Woods: “Where The Fuck Is The Spectre” ?

I’ll quickly look for links to this breaking story but Fox News Coorespondant Jennifer Griffin is now reporting:   “on the ground annex sources are telling her directly” when SEAL’s Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty disobeyed orders to “stand down” they instead “walked” while under fire to the Consulate compound from the CIA Annex.

They walked there, approximately a half mile, retrieved the consulate employees, and walked them back to the Annex.   Woods and Doherty were not in an armored SUV as previously reported.   They were on Foot and they were taking fire while doing so.

When Woods and Doherty safely secured the 20 to 30 employees back in the annex they took up positions on the roof, and Woods engaged communication traffic proclaiming “Where the fuck is the Spectre“, referencing the AC-130 Gunship he anticipated would be overhead by then.   Obviously it was never sent.

Where is Congress….where is our Speaker of the House John Boehner? Absolutely zero leadership from Congress. Shame on you Obama…and to think the next day he went on entertainment television talking about being “eye candy” for the audience. He should be charged with treason!

    • Bob Knoell says:

Damn right, lock that treasonist anti American, anti constitusion, and anti freedom pres. Obama.

    • Hope Crooks says:

      amen this is so shocking

    • Tina says:

Exactly! Who told the republicans in the house to stand down? The truth is, liberal media has buried the story so deep no one will hear the truth unless they tune into FOX News. But we can vote the eye candy out of office. Come on, conservatives and independents – kick that Muslim and his disgraceful wife out of America and let them go live with the terrorists they are so enamored of! When he loses the election, let’s just drop him, his family and his cabinet off – courtesy of the Spectre that poor, brave, wonderful Ty was waiting for – right over Benghazi!! VOTE ROMNEY!!!!! VOTE ROMNEY!!!

  2. labrat says:

I thought it was now being reported that Doherty came later from Tripoli??? Did they not go try to help the consulate until after the Tripoli men arrived? I’m confused. How many people did we have and where were they?

    • It appears the response team from Tripoli arrived at the “Annex”…. and were there when they were told to “stand down” and sit tight. Doherty, from the Tripoli team, and Woods from the Annex team appear to have defied orders and went to the consulate anyway. And, according to Jennifer Griffin they did so “ON FOOT”. (((unreal bravery))) That act of valor is sincerely incredible.

      • Sharon says:

These are men. It’s no wonder that the Putz in the White House had trouble looking their fathers in the eye.

      • boricuafudd says:

Boy, do I hate people who parse words, so when Panetta said, “We quickly responded, as General Dempsey said, in terms of our deploying forces to the region. We had fast platoons in the region. We had ships that we had deployed off of Libya, and we were prepared to respond to any contingency and certainly had forces in place to do that. But as a basic principle here – the basic principle is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on, without having some real time information about what’s taking place. And as a result of not having that kind of information the commander who was on the ground in that area, General Ham, General Dempsey, and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation.”, he was referring to the Consulate where they did not have communication with the Consulate.

After this, there was a lull in the fighting, before the attack on the Annex, so he is just parsing his words, not lying, just not being clear. I don’t curse by I will quote another site,, “Damn you Barack Obama. Damn you.”

      • Bob Knoell says:

Both those Navy Seals, Doherty, and Woods should both be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

  3. Sharon says:

They fought and died, knowing that their “Commander in Chief” (*spit*) had consciously sentenced them to death.

And that, Bozo Biden, IS a BFD to normal Americans.

  4. Didn’t Obama also refer to the attack on the consulate as “bumps in the road” too? This isn’t the first time we have seen the cold and unemotional disconnect from Obama either. Remember the shout out to the Indians before addressing the Ford Hood terrorist attack? He just doesn’t show any empathy for our Military. It’s really scary and I feel less safe with him in power.

    • kinthenorthwest says:

Some at Fort Hood can’t even get the proper benefits cause they won’t call it what it is “An Act of Terrorism.

      • texasconnie says:

The administration called Ft. Hood “workplace violence,” which means those killed cannot be awarded a purple heart. And yes, it limits the kind of benefits the survivors/families can collect. Beyond disgraceful. I don’t really have words.

  5. ctdar says:

    Where is congress?
    Where is Congress?
    WHERE IS CONGRESS????????????????

    • Sharon says:

Probably exactly where they’ve been for the last 3 1/2 years. Wherever that is.

      Cowards of the Congress.

    • elvischupacabra says:

It their tenuous defense, whenever the Republicans in Congress investigate anything, the Democrats and their accomplices in the MSM scream bloody murder that it’s a witch-hunt, politics as usual, and all those other catchy expressions.

The NY Times, which ran over 100 stories on the front page about Abu Grahib, is completely silent on Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Solyndra and anything else that could get Teh Chosen Won’s nads in a wringer.

The press is criminally complicit in this whole sh!t mess.

  6. kinthenorthwest says:

This is so sick..and gets sicker every day and Obama and his people lie lie lie lie

    • maggiemoowho says:

What is even sicker is half the Country don’t care.

      • kinthenorthwest says:

No what is sicker is that if this was due to Republicans it would be all over the news and papers with the polls soaring for whomever or whatever thing was running for President in the Democratic party…

  7. mooney1el says:

I don’t know folks. I have an eerie feeling. If Woods and Doherty were “Ex-SEALS”. then they were not officially under military command (plausible deniability by our administration) similar to our pilots who flew for Air America in the Vietnam war. They would have been independent contractors working covertly for the CIA. I think our despicable administration will ultimately try to claim they were civilians and that the administration was under obligation to ask the Libyan Gov’t for permission to return fire and that permission was not given. I have had personal experience with asking for permission to return fire and having that permission denied (Vietnam, 1969) and the feeling of desertion is beyond belief. That said, remember that POTUS said he didn’t ask or need permission to go into Pakistan after Osama.

I am so disgusted by all of this that my ulcers are bleeding and my blood pressure has risen. I pray to God that the truth prevails and responsible folks are indicted, tried, convicted and punished.

    • kinthenorthwest says:

I am waiting for Obama to claim they were traitors for disobey orders any day now.
      Sorry I wouldn’t put anything past him…

    • Sharon says:

That’s not an “eerie feeling.” That’s a practical mind at work, in close contact with reality, recognizing the crisis management style of this POTUS and seeing how that crisis management style will very likely be implemented once again in this situation.

His way of discarding and devaluing American lives at all levels is not accidental. He is living out his core principles. The situations in which they become more visible may change. His core principles do not change.

Nothing eerie about it, mooney1el. Thank you for your service. The input and thoughts of active and inactive military is so valuable and helpful at every level. I can’t begin to imagine the frustration you folks must feel and can’t identify with it…just know you are highly valued and your input is critical.

    • doodahdaze says:

In defense of an Embassy the State Dept. can call in nearby military assets on the quick quick. Embassies are United States Territory. Every bit as much as Chicago or New York. In order to wonder where SPECTRE is he would have had to be told SPECTRE was in the area. An attack on an Embassy is the equal of an attack on IOWA.

  9. RM Newt says:

Blackhawk Down comes to mind! Take a read of for the broader implications. In themena time, we need to get to the bottom of the attack. Keep it up!

  10. ConcernedCitizen says:

Knew it! The aerial “map” from the thread a while ago showed burnt SUV in front of a building. But in the actual photo – the burnt SUV was backed in so delicately in between the bushes and the SIDE of the building. I remember thinking it was odd that in the midst of an attack someone could back in so perfectly. Lies lies lies from Obama and his minions.

  11. akathesob says:

    “get a rope”

  12. yankeeintx says:

This just keeps getting worse. The implications of Woods saying “Where the f*** is the Spectre?” means he was told there was one of the way. They may have been told one was enroute, as the excuse for why they were being told to stand down.

    • boricuafudd says:

This may be the reason that the Spectre was told to stand down. Is called the “concept of disciplined use of force”, this directive which was establish by Gen. Petraeus while the Centcom commander, and adopted for all armed forces.

Basically, it states ” Prior to the use of fires, the commander approving the strike must determine that no civilians are present. If unable to assess the risk of civilian presence, fires are prohibited” there are exemptions with regard to protecting our soldiers but, “Subordinate commanders are not authorized to further restrict this guidance without approval’.

This directive from Aug 2010, was originally directed at only the forces in Afghanistan, but has been adopted throughout. Part of this directive was also the required the partnering of Afghan and our forces, we know how well that has worked out.

From what we know the mortar station was on the roof of another building, and the Annex was located in a residential area, the directive would have prohibited any action, only as a last resort.

      • yankeeintx says:

Petraeus promised to change/modify/clarify the rules of engagement when he replaced McChrystal but then he made them classified. Still included in was: “This directive, as with the other previous version, does not prevent commanders from protecting the lives of their men and women as a matter of self-defense where it is determined no other options are available to effectively counter the threat.”

The problem is that it would take a commander with some guts to call this what it really was…a terrorist attack by enemy combatants! Technically we are not at war with Libya, but this is “War on Terror”, but Obama prefers “Overseas Contingency Operations”.

        • boricuafudd says:

The parts I mentioned are the de-classified parts of his new directive. You can find them in the Centcom website.

          • yankeeintx says:

To be honest, I’d rather not know just how screwed up the complete rules of engagement have become. My son is a Marine w/ one tour to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. I’d rather not know how he has to fight with one hand tied behind his back and beanbags instead of bullets if he is ever deployed again. Too bad we don’t have a Commander-in-Chief that is worth a damn. I think I would have told Karzai that we play by our own rules, and if he doesn’t like it, we can pull our men, contractors, and money.

            • boricuafudd says:

It would not be optimal if we pull out ahead of schedule, and the Taliban just rolls over the new government. Now, it we leave on our set schedule, and declare mission accomplished, anything that happens then, would be just another bump on the road. I am being sarcastic, of course, but not far from the truth with this Admin.

            • boricuafudd says:

PS, I pray that your son will stay healthy, I am no longer active military, but I have a lot of friends who served, all of the Iraq, though.

              • yankeeintx says:

Thank you for your service and prayers. I’m very proud, but understand that he would give his life to protect his men. I just wish there wasn’t an enemy sitting in the White House.

        • With all due respect David Petraeus never promised shit he is a good soldier who follows orders and is hated by pantsuits and progs in general because he fights to win and that is why he was pulled from Afghanistan and replaced by the puppet McChrystal. Islam is a nation without borders and a military without uniforms. If a military attacks unarmed diplomats, then no amount of collateral damage is excess. The problem is commanders whose boots are on the ground have their hands tied by a commander in chief who has publicly stated we will never be at war with Islam, but if a choice had to be made he would stand with Islam. Common sense and statistics tell me a “War on Terror” is a war on Islam and the usurper in chief is on their side! “The directive” is not in place to win the war on terror, it’s purpose is to protect Islam. Go back to a previous version, like say the directive used against Japan in WWII, but go in and spray the target with pigs blood so the rest of Islam knows when we come after them next, there will be no martyrdom, no seventy two virgins waiting. Then turn ‘em into a sheet of glass. A lot less citizens would die than died in Japan. WAKE UP AMERICA!

  13. Knuckledraggingwino says:

Anyone remember that during the revolt last February, the evacuation of American citizens was severely botched by the Obama and Clinton administration. While other countries were sending chartered planes or C-130s with TROOPS to evacuate their citizens, Hillary’s travel agent booked a ferry that was margunally seaworthy. US citizens languished in port for over a week awaiting clearance from the Libyan government to leave. I was convinced thatbthey were being held hostage and it is possible thatnthey were.

  14. rumpole2 says:

O, Branded, marked with a cowards shame.

  15. Scott says:

Sadly, these are the consequences of electing a Marxist community organizer to the highest office in the land. Did anyone really expect anything more from this guy? Whether his conduct during and after the Benghazi debacle was cowardice, naivete’, or political posturing to get re-elected, did anyone really expect anything more? Whether we are now watching a cover-up or just a complete bungling of a tragic event, did anyone really expect anything more? Whether brave Americans were left to die while fighting for a country they believed would never leave them behind, or our enemies were emboldened by our inept (so-called) Commander in Chief, did anyone really expect anything more?
Elections are serious business and their ramifications reach far beyond the slogans and empty promises which accompany them. We can only hope that the four lives lost in Benghazi will serve to impress upon the American public one very important lesson….the man we elect to be our president must have the credentials to justify our trust. Community organizers need not apply.

This is slightly off topic and although I know most of us are fully aware of the dangers our country is facing while our government is afraid to address the problem it is an hour long video that every American should see. So please pass it along to those low info voters.

  19. yankeeintx says:

With just days left until the election, President Obama has been thrown a challenge that could determine whether he gets reelected.

“Risky decision he was forced to make”

This is Huffpost lead into a story. The risky decision was whether to campaign or “to return to the White House late Monday to monitor the storm and the government’s response.”

So he couldn’t make a “risky” decision to send help to American’s under attack in Libya, and he considers it “risky” to play act as President during a storm. His “government response” to the murder of 4 American’s was to apologize for a video, lie, deflect, lie again, and avoid the subject. I hope Michelle is at home packing.

  20. OhButtHead thinks Inocent muslims YouTube clip is offenceive to Islam. Well sir this is offensive to me:

Not that Islamists snuffed out an Islamist’s life, no I’m approve of that, wish they all kill the hell out of each other. What offends me is that they did it at Angel Stadium, Los Angeles, CA!

  21. ctdar says:

Has there been a list of names of all those at the consulate & annex that night posted anywhere yet? With all that went on I find it hard to believe that only 4 were killed and all 4 were definately American born…were there other Americans there that night or were those 4 targeted specifically?

    • kinthenorthwest says:

Nothing adds up about that night Nothing…

If Obama had just said he blew it, it would probably have blown over by now…
Yet Obama and his people still refuse to tell the truth or even half truths…
I believe there is much much more to this mess…So much more to this Fiasco that someone(Probably Obama)doesn’t want us to know. That is Frickening scary…

    • Bette says:

The Rest of the Story should not be allowed to die.

When the consulate in Benghazi came under attack, at least 37 U.S./Libyan diplomatic personnel managed to escape in the dark of night to a supposedly secret “safe house,” a second location where, according to most reports, they wondered what had happened to their missing ambassador and awaited rescue. U.S. and Libyan authorities were aware of their plight (as was al-Qaeda, but read on).
A plan was made and the Libyans dispatched a brigade known as the Libyan Shield under Captain Fathi al-Obeidi to meet an 8-man squad of Marines, hastily dispatched from Tripoli, at the Benghazi airport. Together they proceeded to the secret location where they immediately came under a planned and waiting mortar attack. One Marine was thrown off a rooftop by mortar fire, two others wounded. Two of the 37 diplomatic personnel were killed and others wounded as the Marines and Libyan Shield Brigade attempted to load the diplomats onto too few trucks while under fire (they were prepared to evacuate only 10 people, not 3 times that number), and call in other brigades with more trucks. As the sun rose, they were able to disengage from the attackers (almost certainly al-Qaeda) and convoy everyone back to Benghazi airport, where transports waited to take off with– not everyone, but the “first group of Americans.”

This story was reported by Reuters Middle East stringer Hadeel Al Shalchi (female, Canadian, based in Tripoli, Libya), and– from the first-hand details provided in the story– is almost certainly the eye-witness account of Captain al-Obeidi. She corroborates his story with that of a Libyan official, Deputy Interior Minister Wanis al-Sharif:

“A team of commandos arrived by air and went to a farm which we thought was a secret location. Once they got there, they came under heavy fire from heavy machineguns, rocket-propelled grenades and automatic rifles, which resulted in the death of two others.”

He estimated that a dozen or more Americans were hurt.

This is a real story. Journalist Hadeel Al Shalchi is a real journalist, who has reported for Reuters from Egypt during the Arab Spring uprising, and from Syria from the onset of its civil war. And yet, after this story was reported, September 12, nothing more was told. Its as if the Marines and the 37 evacuated diplomatic personnel flew off from Benghazi airport and straight into the Bermuda Triangle. Ms. Shalchi has since returned to Canada for a break (her last tweet was the depressed turn-out of Michigan-area Muslim voters for Obama this year). She’s in no position to follow up on this story anyway. Only the Marines know what happened to the Marines, only the State Department knows what it did with the 37 evacuees.

So… media… anyone… what did happen to them?

de rigueur on September 28, 2012 at 10:25 AM

      • I have said from the outset on 9/12, where are the survivors? Where is the media battling to talk to the survivors of the attack. Will this be the one and only terrorist attack on US personell where the media is not clamoring to talk to the “survivors”?

Seriously? The stench of something is ridiculous!

  22. ctdar says:

Just read how Commander Ham was relieved of duty that night after he said he was ready to deploy and going to. Did Ham notify the annex they were coming in and that’s why Doherty & Wood painted the terrorist mortar target and when no response over head why he cried out in frustration?

    • Bette says:

Makes sense to me. Anyone that doesn’t toe the Obama party line will be replaced or disgraced in some manner. Even General David Petraeus seems complicit in this. A man, once so revered is now just another 2 bit player this Obama Drama. The whole thing just infuriates me. The media is holding this nation hostage to a false narrative by not exposing BHO for what he is. It is their job to properly vet a presidential candidate, but they gave him a total pass and they have covered his behind ever since. Now they are actively campaigning for him. How corrupt can you get. I wish we could force them to do their job.

  23. Mikado Cat says:

I have this bad feeling that the core truth of the events never make it to the general public. That Team Obama media will pump out sufficient doubting spin that an average person may wonder about what happened, shrug and go back to the latest entertaining non news “story”.

Posters keep asking, “Where is Congress?” Are you not aware that Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, started hearing on this October 10th? Maybe your question SHOULD be, “Where is the Media coverage of these hearings on the nightly news and in the press?” along with, “Why is the Senate NOT holding hearings on this?”

Or maybe we already know the answer to both questions…

  31. sue_conn says:

AP just reported “US Officials” say Fox got it wrong, that Ty Woods worked for the CIA and was following orders when he responded to the call for help from the consulate. At least that’s what this article seems to say to me, link and relevant passage here:

“Two of those Americans were ex-Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glenn Doherty, who initially were identified publicly as State Department contractors. But on Thursday, the intelligence officials said they were CIA contractors. Previously the agency had asked The Associated Press and other news organizations to avoid linking the men to the CIA because the officials claimed that doing so would endanger the lives of other security contractors working for other agencies around the world.

U.S. officials are using the details to rebut some news reports that said the CIA told its personnel to “stand down” rather than go to the consulate to help repel the attackers. Fox News reported that when CIA officers at the annex called higher-ups to tell them the consulate was under fire, they were twice told to “stand down.” The CIA publicly denied the report, laying out a timeline that showed CIA security officers left their annex and headed to the consulate less than 25 minutes after receiving the first call for help.”–politics.html

  32. Clayton Brown says:

My father spent three years fighting the Nazis in Europe, Sicily to Munich/Dachau, and then in Korea for a year and a half. He had kept up thoroughly with military/political events until he did recently. In our discussions, he could not understand the trend to retreat from action when action was needed to defend American interests overseas. The men and women in the field have not lost the backbone to act, but it appears that some of our leaders have. Carter pulled back on orders to take our Embassy people back when our military was ready to go and just a few minutes away. At least he was worried about them. Now we have a President that is worse — he puts his own political aspirations ahead of the people in the field, and his subordinates who should be authorized to take actions to support our people apparently have their hands tied or are too afraid to act that our people are sacrificed. if alive, my Dad, who put his life on the line many times, would be absolutely horrified — he would be totally unable to understand it. A lot of us are that way.

    • Scott says:

Clayton….Those who have witnessed first hand, the horrors of war, are the only ones who truly understand the “cost of freedom.” Thus, many in our fathers’ generation are more than distraught by the ongoing degradation of the values they hold dearest. Like yours, my father fought his way across Europe, was captured during the Battle of the Bulge, and was imprisoned for more than four months prior to his liberation. If he were still with us, I believe he would be worse than “horrified” by what the country has become, and especially by the behavior of its leaders. In this regard, and as much as I miss him, I’m actually relieved that he’s not here now, having to watch it unfold. At any rate, I relate to your feelings and I thank you for sharing them. Keep the faith. Tuesday is our chance to do something about it.

    • RM Newt says:

I think we’ve always been a rather peace loving nation. We were late and reluctant to enter WWII. Churchill had the vision, less so for FDR. Eventually we entered and the greatest generation pulled it off and gave us what we have today.
Hitler verbalized and wrote about just what he planned to do. Iran, Al Qaeda and other are pretty clear now. “Wipe Israel off the map, destroy us…” The World Trade Center attack in ’93 was a clear warning and look what happened in 01.
Isolationism and Ignoring our enemies is not a good plan….. in my opinion.
