Is ZIMM Site Gone? – What’s Going On With Zimmerman Site? – UPDATE: Mystery Solved

What Can We Find Out?  ASAP

ACTION ALERT – Just received a tip from a Treeper as follows: Regarding GZ’s donation website.

I decided to make a donation this afternoon, only to find that his website was down. Figured maybe he was updating it, so I gave it an hour and checked back. Still down. My other option was http://www.legalboom.org who last week accepted donations on George’s behalf, while keeping donors anonymous. http://twitter.com/#!/legalboom

Anyway, since the donation site was down….on a whim, I decided to search for Mr. O’Mara’s twitter feed to see if he posted anything. Well, apparently he tweeted that GZ “does not and will not have an internet presence” and “all r fake”. He was having the sites reported and shut down!! It appears that he had the legit site with the flag background shut down too or was that also a fake site all along?

Since I don’t subscribe to twitter I couldn’t ask him what the heck was going on. I can surely understand him not wanting George to blog about his experience, but after reading O’Mara’s tweets, I assume GZ won’t be able to get any more donations, right? http://twitter.com/#!/Markomaralaw

Update Puddy Paws (Ad rem)  to the rescue (as usual)  FOX NEWS - A website set up for George Zimmerman to raise funds for his legal defense  after he was accused of killing unarmed Florida teen Trayvon Martin has been  shut down while his attorney tries to restructure the fund, FoxNews.com has  learned.

TheRealGeorgeZimmerman.com was launched April 10, as a digital soapbox for  Zimmerman to give his side of the story, as well as a fundraising tool to  solicit donations to his legal defense fund. Zimmerman used the site, which took  major credit cards, to communicate messages to his supporters. But his attorney,  Mark O’Mara, said the site has been shut down as of today.

“I’ve started the process to properly authorize his legal fund,” O’Mara said.  “I do not want him to have any Internet presence and that site has been taken  down.  (continue reading)

  1. His site might have been hacked by progs or those against him ? Dunno. Something’s up. :(

  2. WeeWeed says:

So, I tweeted him and asked him. We shall see if THAT account disappears, too.

  3. stellap says:

I made a donation yesterday, to a credit card. Hasn’t shown up yet on my account.

  4. marie says:

I saw O’Mara interviewed briefly yesterday (darn, can’t recall whose program–maybe Hannity’s? Greta’s?), and he was asked about funds and donations. When asked about George’s financial state (he was responding to a question about how the parents had come up with bail– he thought they might have refinanced their home), and when asked about donations, O’Mara said he had been told there were sites up for that, and that as far as he knew, there was about $300 in an internet site account, but because he’d had more pressing issues, he knew nothing more than that. In fact, he said he knew very little about the subject.

So, today, I guess he or his team had time to get the ball rolling as he probably realized there would be scammers out there.

I’m wondering if now that George is out of jail and he can access the internet if he’s finding that he has way more supporters than he might have thought. There are a lot of us out here, and we’re willing to help. I wrote about charity in a prior thread, in my opinion GZ is a person in need. Unable to work now, faced with significant legal costs, has to hide out … I would be happy to contributing to his fund.

    • rjp says:

$15000 ain’t shit to come up with, and just the deed will suffice in many places (maybe not in Florida with its real estate market though).

      • minpin says:

rjp- $15,000 may not be much for you to come up with, but for many it is as good as trying to come up with $100,000 or more. The parents already bared their souls as to their financial situation in the Friday hearing, which is embarassing as all get out for those that live within meager means. They are both retired, and have very little savings. To come up with $15,000, just like that, is truly a hardship for many. GZ himself is indigent.

        • rjp says:

I didn’t mean $15k was nothing actually, but didn’t know his parents didn’t have resources I would expect them to have, a deed, a whole life policy they could borrow against, some stock that they bought 30 years ago, something., anything.

  5. rjp says:

I think, and this is only me thinking, O”Mara probably already has a contract with GZ for the cases against ABC, NBC, et al, for their behavior. O’Mara may not be the lead attorney, but he is going to make out on this. And maybe he’ll even have the f’ing set to try and go after Crump, Spike Lee, et al, for Civil Rights Violations, which ckearly generating false evidence is.

If we are ever going to get this country back from the garbage that has subjugated it from us, we have to start suing for Civil Rights Violations. We have to use the tools they used to take it back by using them against them. Sure all you will win in most cases is a lien against them, or a lien on the hovel they live in, possibly wage garnishment, but it will be a reminded that the game is back on. We aren’t going to stand for this shit.

    • minpin says:

Where did you get the idea that O’Mara is not the lead attorney? Do you believe that everyone does whatever they do just for monetary gain, like the Martins?

      • rjp says:

O’Mara is the lead in the defense. O’Mara knows this could easily cost (cost, not his time, his firm’s actual cost) a million or more. GZ is going to have a shit hole to dig out of by the time this is over. I guarantee the billables have already exceded $100K. And I am 100% positive that when this criminal trial is over, there needs to be a REAL civil shooter at the helm in the civil trial against ABC, NBC, MSNBC, etc, not a hasBen CRUMBcake.

        • tara says:

It won’t cost much if he’s granted immunity. :)

          • rjp says:

            You are right.

There was an article recently about a law firm doing a $600mil bond issue.

Obviously the whole firm has been gutted if they are going to the band market to finance litigation.

            Yep! These are our parents!

        • minpin says:

rjp- I believe O’Mara acknowledged that he knew GZ was indigent, but took the case anyway. From my understanding, O’Mara will be reimbursed by the state for any expenses incurred in the defense, but O’Mara will not get any attorney fees in the case. Because this is such a high profile case, O’Mara will benefit in other ways such as increased business and TV interviews. If he gets GZ off in the Immunity hearing, or found innocent at trial by a jury of his peers, O’Mara will be one of the most sought after attys. in Florida, and whatever other states where he is licensed to practice.

Tara had said that if GZ walks free at the Immunity hearing, that is the least costly for all involved. GZ gets reimbursed for his legal costs, lost wages, and whatever else sundance had included on the list in his article. In that case O’Mara, and even GZ’s previous attys. will be paid for their defense work. The Martins via Crump, or any of their other lawyers at that point are poop out of luck with any further lawsuits. Crump has already benefited handsomely because of his face time on this case. I don’t know how the Nifong disbarment hearings were brought about. Was it the Duke players attys. that brought those charges? Hopefully Crump and his partner, and all of the other Martin attys. that trumped up this case, will be brought up for disbarment through the same process. Then you will hear the screams of racial profiling again.

I seriously doubt that any civil lawsuit talk is on anyone’s plate at this time. There are still many criminal hurdles for all to get through.

  6. Aoife says:

OK…I just signed up for a twitter acct. so I could follow O’Mara…what the hell do I do now?

    • stellap says:

Find some other people to follow. Our twitter addresses can be found at the top of the page here, under “Twittering in the Treehouse”.

Just found this link to a Alan Dershowitz interview with Beck today:

  8. Greg says:

Man, I am bummed. I gave at therealgeorgezimmerman.com via paypal.

    • Ken says:

The money in that account is going directly to GZ. I promise. The site shutdown was a defensive move against hackers and fakes. Thanks for your support

    • justice099 says:

That article reminded me of something…

I was arguing with one of the more reasonable Trayvon supporters recently and the main part of the argument was her claim that Zimmerman didn’t walk back to his vehicle because he asked the dispatcher to have the cop call him at the end of the call. I countered that it was obvious from the tape that he was having difficulty explaining how to reach that spot inside the gated community and was stumbling on the tape. She told me that I was not telling the truth. She kept referring to the dispatcher as a her, so I pointed out that she must not have listened to the tape at all. She pointed out that she had not, but posted a transcript that she had read. In it, they cut out huge chunks of the call in several spots. She was completely unaware of the part I was talking about.

I left her with a caution to be careful where she gets her “facts” from because there are numerous lies out there and people playing with the evidence to fit their narratives.

      • tara says:

What bothers me most is that these people are not skeptical enough to think “Is there more?” It’s like they only read as much as necessary to support their prejudice. This woman wants GZ to be guilty of a crime so she’s satisfied with the information she read, which she considers damning. But I agree with your assessment, that’s exactly how I interpreted his words. I also considered the possibility that he might drive back to his home to make sure everything is OK there.

        • jordan2 says:

I post a lot at the Huffington Post. You can imagine what I get when I point out “mistakes” in the media accounts and I try to be kind. Even so, when I post irrefutable proof of what I am saying, I still get replies like this: “I don’t care. He should be convicted.” Or better yet, “Facts mean nothing. Z is guilty and he should be put away for life.”

  9. James Crawford says:

I took the liberty of calling Omara’s office and told his secretary about the note in the alleged phone records that reveals that all time notations in the call logs are Pacific Standard Time. The implication that either the phone logs released by the Martin’s attorneys are fabrications or Treyvon Martin was talking with Dee Dee from beyond the grave almost three hours after he was shot made in impression on her so I am certain she passed it on. Of course Omara is obviously on the ball so he had probably already noticed.

I also took the liberty of mentioning that I got this info at the conservativetreehouse.

Exposing this fabricated evidence as a fraud will hopefully win the immunity hearing. It also should result in the Martin family attorneys being disbarred. As the number of assaults against random white people by black people who are irate about the Martin shooting increase, we might also see wrongful death lawsuits against them.

    • justice099 says:

Much has been done to bust holes in the going narrative. I really do hope O’Mara is at least listening and paying attention.

In my view, there is enough out here to throw this whole case out.

    • jordan2 says:

Do you have a link to those phone logs?

  10. Michell says:

A new article on Zimmerman. It tells why he bought a gun and why he carried a gun and much more of his background. This paragraph stood out the most to me:
“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. I’m black, OK?” the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race. She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. “There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood,” she said. “That’s why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin.”

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/04/25/us-usa-florida-shooting-zimmerman-idUSBRE83O18H20120425

    • The woman is “Ibrahim Rashada”. She is a black neighbor of George Zimmerman and one of the first to speak out to the Miami Herald on his defense March 14th. Unfortunately, her honest speak in attempting to get out the truth was dismissed by EVERY MEDIA OUTLET.

Ibrahim Rashada tried early on to put the truth into the media. She was shunned and obfuscated because her honesty did not fit their narrative. The media had/has an agenda, and she ran smack into it.

Alas, I ask again what I have asked for months: What are people going to do about that?

That my friend is the MUCH MUCH larger issue.

      • minpin says:

You know I was thinking today sundance, that I wish some kind of nation wide petition could be started to get the DOJ to demand that Al Sharpton et all to stand down. Fat chance that while Obama and Holder are still in office. Not because he should be denied his right to free speech, and his right to peacefully protest, but, that he is stopped from inciting violence, and that he is stopped from deliberately telling lies. It isn’t only the burning of a building in NY, because they rented a shop to Jewish owners, where 8 people died, the Tawana Brawley incident, and the Duke LaCrosse incident. We are now mounting a pretty good list of those beaten to near death, in the name of Trayvon Martin, which no doubt can be pinned back to his calls for “justice.” In his past protests where he hyped his cases with Tawana et al, the people whose lic=ves he made living hells of, were all found innocent of any crimes.

I guess I can find one little shred of hope for GZ, in the fact that whatever cause he takes up for individual black people he defends, wind up being the guilty party, and those he demeans wind up being the innocent party, or at least not guilty of the terrible crimes he convicts them for in the media.

    • jordan2 says:

Huge problem with that article. It’s accurate up to the end when it states:

This time, Zimmerman was not so patient, and he disregarded police advice against pursuing Martin.

I say that because he NEVER even talked to the police. He talked to a 911 dispatcher (with no legal authority) and even so, when he was told, “We don’t need you to do that,” he said “OK” and began to return to his truck.

The media cannot help itself.. They write this article to show him in a favorable light and then end it with a lie.

They simply are determined to make this guy look guilty.

  11. jordan2 says:

So what is the real deal? Will he be declared indigent and get support from the tax payers as happened with Casey Anthony?

Has he “applied” or filed a motion about that? I thought O’Mara said initially that he was working pro bono but have not heard anything since then, .Or does O’Mara expect that the will get enough funding from contributions to pay for his defense?

I also never heard how he came up with the bond money.
