A 35 time visitor and White House insider, Hillary Rosen, who happens to be the White House advisor to DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has just walked into her own self-created leftist minefield.
It all started with this: DNC Adviser Hilary Rosen Slams Ann Romney As Having “Never Worked a Day In Her Life”..
Which led to this:

So what does Hillary Rosen do? Same thing all entrenched ideological leftists do – DOUBLE DOWN ON STUPID
“This really isn’t about stay at home moms versus working moms,” she said. “It’s about women in general. I love stay at home moms…”
She added, “I have kids. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world. I’ve said consistently…look Mitt Romney (has) bought his wife into this conversation. This is not about Ann Romney…this is about the waitress” elsewhere in America with two kids can afford to have care for her kids while she works.
“This isn’t about whether Ann Romney, or I or other women of some means can afford to make a choice and stay home and raise kids,” Rosen said. “Most women…don’t have that choice. and that’s the piece that I’m not hearing from the Romney campaign.”
As for making Ann Romney a piece of the campaign, Rosen said, “He’s the one who keeps doing this, not me.”
Recognizing the risk Rosen just created to the Democrats War on Women narrative attack against Republicans the White House responded quickly:
Michelle Obama @MichelleObama “Every mother works hard, and every woman deserves to be respected”. –mo
D Wasserman Schultz@DWStweets Disappointed in @hilaryr ‘s comments. As a mother of 3 there’s no doubt that raising children is work.
Things got worse…… Quick To The Polls !!!
Yikes ! Danger – Danger – Danger
So under the shere weight of the rabid left-wing isolation, and recognizing how destructive to the effort that went into creating the false War on Women narrative, Hilary Rosen finally apologizes albeit with a quite nasty tone:
“Let’s put the faux ‘war against stay at home moms’ to rest once and for all. As a mom I know that raising children is the hardest job there is. As a pundit, I know my words on CNN last night were poorly chosen. In response to Mitt Romney on the campaign trail referring to his wife as a better person to answer questions about women than he is, I was discussing his poor record on the plight of women’s financial struggles…
“As a partner in a firm full of women who work outside of the home as well as stay at home mothers, all with plenty of children, gender equality is not a talking point for me. It is an issue I live every day. I apologize to Ann Romney and anyone else who was offended. Let’s declare peace in this phony war and go back to focus on the substance.”
But people kept pointing to the hypocrisy of Hilary Rosen when compared to prior statements when she was protecting Michelle Obama:

In 2008, Rosen derided Republican attacks against Michelle Obama as an example as “stupid strategy.”
“You know essentially, you’ve taken on sort of the most sympathetic person in the candidate’s realm, the wife, who is taking care of the children, supporting the husband, doing everything she can because she loves him,” Rosen said on Anderson Cooper 360 according to a CNN transcript from May 19, 2008.

So recognizing all the aspects of risk to their narrative the leftist base swings into action. Via Twitter and shared by Twitchy:
You get the picture…. The typical leftist picture….
Then it’s time for the media to move forward on their defense to the narrative. Cue MSNBC Andrea Mitchell:
