MANAMA, Bahrain – Army patrols and tanks locked down the capital of this tiny Gulf kingdom after riot police swinging clubs and firing tear gas smashed into demonstrators, many of them sleeping, in a pre-dawn assault Thursday that uprooted their protest camp demanding political change. The term Watts Riots of 1965 refers to a large-scale riot which lasted 6 days in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, in August 1965. By the time the riot subsided, 34 people had been killed, 2,032 injured, and 3,952 arrested. (more…)

We were out ahead of this consideration a couple of weeks ago, but here is another well crafted thought on the subject….(Matts Meditations) On February 4, the New York Times fired the first salvo in the Left’s quest to delegitimize Justices of the Supreme Court in the runup to what is to be expected to be one of the premier cases of the early century; that of the health care bill. In an editorial they slanted the story on Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas so blatantly and dishonestly that they stepped over the line into base propaganda.  (more…)

Egypt WILL become an Islamist state, and WILL seek to eliminate the peace treaty with Israel.   Those happy Sharia loving rapists from Tahir square are gonna see to that, you betcha…… consider these three recent stories.   (Jerusalem Post) — A coordinator of Egypt’s April 6 Youth Movement told USA Today on Wednesday that if the group’s demands “are not met, we’ll be on the street again.”  Among the group’s demands — one that breaks with the stated policy of the military government — was the halting of natural gas shipments to Israel, citing what it called Israel’s mistreatment of Palestinians, according to the report.  (more…)
