End Of The World Now Set For May 21…It's A Saturday

There are only four days left, and I find myself rushing to make the final edits to my bucket list. (I’ve also stopped working on the world’s largest ball of twine and cleaning out the bedroom closets with help fro the maid services manhattan.)  According to all the stories, the scenario is much the same. Beginning on May 21, a series of earthquakes will begin in New Zealand, and they will work their way to the United States.
Finally! Here are the details about how the world will end on May 21. We’ve been hearing all this chatter about how the world will end on May 21st.
And as May 21st approaches, and the volume of chatter increases, we’ve gotten curious: How, exactly, is the world going to end? (more…)

We Know Where You've Been….Now Others Will Too!

Do you remember how excited you were when you first got your hands on the new iPhone?  Well, apparently your iPhone remembers that too…and much more about you as well.
(PCMAG.COM) I’m surprised everyone is not up in arms over the revelation that the iPhone tracks its users and stores the data in a secret file that is carried to the personal computer. The Guardian blew the lid off this story today. According to The Guardian:
Security researchers have discovered that Apple’s iPhone keeps track of where you go – and saves every detail of it to a secret file on the device which is then copied to the owner’s computer when the two are synchronized. Rhythmic Refrains from the Bard of Murdock – Treehouse Poet Laureate

Hey, Mulligan Man!
Sometimes we’re caught flat-footed,
Sometimes we’re unaware;
We’re forced to make decisions,
And no time to prepare.
If we could call a Mulligan
And hatch a brand new plan,
Then wouldn’t life be grander
To be a Mulligan Man? (more…)

Introducing The Bard of Murdock…

A little more than a week ago, a poet appeared in the branches of our Treehouse who called himself The Bard of Murdock.  He said, “My goal is to produce poetical cartoons.  I try to use metaphors and caricatures (or a politician’s own words) to address complex political and social situations.  In this way, I sum up current events in humorous verse.”
Having received so many positive comments regarding The Bard of Murdock’s poetry, we decided to invite the Bard to be the official Poet Laureate of the Treehouse.   To our great pleasure, he responded with the following poem.  We’d like to welcome the Bard to our Treehouse, and we hope he will continue to drop by and favor us with his latest metrical compositions.  You’ll find the Bard’s photo and clickable link on the sidebar. Our G8rMom7 Had a Skating Accident! TLC is on the Way…

The newsroom here at the Treehouse has just received a bit of ‘painful’ news.  We’ve been told that “G8rMom7” was out ice skating last night and has suffered a broken nose.  Now we aren’t privy to all  the details yet, so we’re left to ponder what could have been the cause of this regrettable accident.

~~~Perhaps she was attempting the difficult double Salchow followed by a half loop, only to lose balance while swinging the right leg forward?
~~~Perhaps she entered the Lutz jump on the wrong edge and was underrotated?

~~~Perhaps her partner, Brian Boitano, did not throw her high enough to correctly complete the throw Axel?
I guess we’ll just have to wait for …the rest of the story.  In the meantime, we at the Treehouse would like to extend to G8rMom7 our most sincere wishes for a speedy recovery.
The Killer Rabbit Haunts Jimmy Carter…
The date was April 20, 1979, and Jimmy Carter was taking a few days off in Plains, Georgia.  He was fishing from a canoe in a pond, when he spotted the fateful rabbit swimming toward him.  The rabbit was hissing menacingly… its teeth flashing and nostrils flared, while all the time making straight for the president.  An ever alert White House photographer snapped a picture of the encounter for posterity.  (more…)
Second Obama Birth Certificate Surfaces: He’s Muslim!
Life has not been the same for an eight year old Kenyan boy named Jamil Obuya since that fateful day last week when he was playing on his family’s farm in Mombasa.  Jamil and his friends were playing hide the goat, when suddenly he darted behind a bush and discovered the opening to an unknown cave.  When the boys reached the back of the cave, they were surprised to find a small leather pouch with only a faded piece of paper tucked carefully inside.  (more…)
Another Monster Sleeps Near Tokyo – A Cultural Allegory…
The history of  Japan and its people has been rife with periods of rapid building, great prosperity, destruction, and then eventual rebirth. These cycles have become so ingrained in the Japanese culture, that one can only wonder if the “Kaiju films” (Japanese monster movies) and their like are not somehow the product of this cultural ethos. Japan was only nine years away from the events of Hiroshima, and was in the midst of an enormous rebuilding phase, when the first of the Gojira (Godzilla) movies was released in 1954. The film was originally developed to make an anti-nuclear statement, arising from a true event occurring during the Bikini Tests. A Japanese fishing boat had strayed into the test area, and its crew was exposed to severe amounts of radiation when the bomb exploded.  (more…)
ACORN Whistleblower, Anita MonCrief, and Her Fight Against Voter Registration Fraud.
Last Feb. 12th., I received an e-mail (with videos) from one of our commenters here at the Treehouse.   This ‘TreeHouser’ is currently involved with investigating voter registration fraud and they have asked to remain anonymous.  The primary subject in the videos we received is Anita MonCrief, an ex-liberal and Acorn whistleblower, who has now become a citizen journalist blogger.  The same corrupt individuals she mentions in the videos (below) are now targeting Congressman Allen West.  (more…)
