Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant and is now recovering from the operation, his office disclosed Saturday, according to The Associated Press.
Cheney, 71, had been on a transplant waiting list for more than 20 months, and is now recovering in the Intensive Care Unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va. (more…)
Yesterday I had the great privilege of attending the Michigan Prosperity Forum, sponsored by Americans For Prosperity. The roster of speakers was fabulous – Herman Cain, Michelle Malkin, Andrew Breitbart, Ann McElhinney, and other lesser known, but equally interesting and informative speakers, such as Tim Phillips, who is AFP President. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †
Has it really been a full year since Sundance built this Treehouse? Doesn’t seem possible. A lot happened in a few months in late 2010/early 2011. Thinking back ….
Our “oldest” Treeper friends first met at another political blog site in 2009. Some of us were new to the world of political blogs. Many found the way there via an open letter to Rush Limbaugh, which Rush mentioned on his radio show. For me, visiting with my “imaginary friends” became a welcome part of my day (and a large part, LOL), even better than reading the blog posts. I’d usually jump right into the comments on the Open, especially as time went on. (more…)
In case you are wondering what the term means, I found the following definition on Wikipedia:
A brokered convention is a situation in United States politics in which there are not enough delegates ‘won’ during the presidential primary and caucus elections for a single candidate to have a pre-existing majority, during the first official vote for a political party’s presidential-candidate at its nominating convention.
Once the first ballot, or vote, has occurred, and no candidate has a majority of the delegates’ votes, the convention is then considered brokered; thereafter, the nomination is decided through a process of alternating political horse-trading, and additional re-votes. (more…)

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) – Two paramedics sit in their broken down ambulance as shots ring out all around them. The video they recorded while waiting to be rescued is raising questions about the City of Detroit’s promise to fix problems with its emergency service.
Play the video in the player to see the video taken by paramedic Wisam Zeineh and to hear the sounds of almost constant gunfire as he and his partner sit in their broken down rig.
Charlie LeDuff raises the question: Where’s the money to fix the broken down ambulances?
These guys waited for an HOUR, unarmed, to be rescued, as constant gunfire, some of it from automatic weapons, rang around them. If I lived in one of these neighborhoods, there is NO WAY I would be unarmed. NO WAY. I’m unable to embed the video here (sorry!), but I highly recommend viewing it here.
Gun control advocates: These aren’t legal guns you are hearing. Why do you want to take away guns from law-abiding citizens? Would YOU like to wait an hour for assistance, unarmed, while you feared for your life?
